My daughter and I loved this book, which is full of bright and colourful illustrations, and easy to read text, showing a school which is full of superheroes. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and other DC Comics superheroes mirror the things that real school workers do, such as teachers, cleaners, cooks and other people who help schools to run efficiently with their hard work. This is a great idea for a story, and I am sure kids will love this action-packed book a lot! Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
This would make a good book for back to school. However, it fell a little short for me. I wish it had focused on the people at school a little bit more and not so much superheroes themselves. But I can see how kids would love it and enjoy it!
Schools are FULL of superheroes!! In this fabulously illustrated read, all of DCs famous superheroes are compared to the real MVPs of our schools – the REAL superheroes of society- teachers, custodians, secretaries, principals, etc. This quick read is a full color volume of amazing pictures. It was good to visit all my favorite superheroes from my own childhood. I was sent a digital copy of School is Full of Superheroes by NetGalley and Michael Dahl in exchange for an honest review.
Michael Dahl always writes engaging stories for young kids in the DC world. Will purchase for library collection.
Man... I love this book. First and foremost, i think it presents a fresh concept in this genre, the illustration really kicks in, i felt so excited reading it.
But the most important thing is, i love how inclusive it is in terms of who is hero. Everyone is a hero, and this book helps young readers to see how not only batman, superman, wonderman but also teachers, janitors and others become a hero!
Everybody is a hero, we just need to acknowledge and nurture appreciation towards all the heroes surrounding us, and yes, maybe by letting children read this educational story! Adios~
And also, i really felt included/represented when i saw the hijabi girls. I felt warm.
Thank you netgalley for the inspiring advanced reader copy, totally love it❤️
School is Full of Superheroes is a wonderful book celebrating the people who run our schools and teach our kids. There are so many people, from the principal and teachers to janitors, lunch ladies, and the people who run the office. All of these people are super heroes as they teach and guide our kids! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!
If you know anything about me, it's that I love superheroes. I love the idea behind them and how they truly change people. This book immediately caught my eye because it included a school(I am a kindergarten teacher) and superheroes.
I have to give a massive thanks to the artist. They put so many different students in this book. Students with hijabs, freckles, dimples, glasses, every sort of person you could imagine. Thank you.
I loved how they related what the staff was doing with what superheroes do.
Loved this book and definitely recommend.
This book is perfect for schools. I love how many school personnel were included as heroes. I want to have this book in every room of the school. Great reminders of how important people in the school are for students and adults.
Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone for the opportunity to read this book and provide my honest opinion.
As school approaches, we often look at the end of the summer instead of the fact that schools are in fact full of superheroes!
Join some of your favourite superheroes, both from the comics and from your everyday life, as we learn what it truly means to be a superhero.
The custodian making sure the floors are clean and safe? Well, a superhero surely looks out for the safety of those entrusted to them.
How about your teacher who encourages you to be your best? Superhero.
A must have for every primary level classroom bookshelf.
School is Full of Superheroes encourages students to look for superheroes in their everyday lives, such as teachers, bus drivers, janitors, and more. I liked this book and the respect and admiration the authors ask children to see in their teachers.
Michael Dahl's School is Full of Superheroes is the perfect addition to every early childhood classroom library. I absolutely adore everything about this book! The illustrations are amazing and feature many of children's favorite superheroes. Dahl highlights the message that every member of the entire school community- from teachers to the office staff to the students themselves- is a powerful and important asset to our world.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this fantastic read-aloud. I can't wait to share this with my preK students when we begin our School Community unit.
