Felt a little lost not having read previous works but found it interesting. I was a bit lost throughout but this was engaging nonetheless. Complex and enjoyable artwork.
This is a gripping story with great graphics. Kane, is a merman, constantly on the run from those who want to exploit him. As he flees he finds himself in the midst of a hunt for a megalodon, a giant shark. Kane with his special powers can intervene but who is his friend and who is his foe?
This is a brilliant, fast paced adventure which holds the attention of the reader. The artwork is good and creates sufficient tension in the story. This is a graphic novel which leaves the reader wanting more. We are left wanting to know more about Kane and much more about the megalodon.
An interesting read, it's been a while since I read a comic with this format (they are more mangas and graphic novels) and I liked it!
I feel that the story was interesting, quite fast at times... mostly in relation to the links formed and there were moments that I had to read twice to see if I hadn't skipped some part.
Basically, don't fuck with the ocean people. Leave the marine animals (and everyone) alone or something serious happens. And if so.
I liked it, I wasn't fascinated by it.
Thank you Humanoids Inc. for the ARC I read on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Coming to this, not knowing anything about its parent series of comics, was not the right approach. Certainly it felt better to have prior knowledge of this world. But this, whether self-contained or as a way in to the greater opus, is just not good enough – horrendous "I shall tell you what you already know" – "I shall respond in like manner, because that is how humans have always spoken" exposition, clunky messages about the environment, and people being stupid just to further the plot along. The comics world doesn't half seem insistent on creating a great aquaman character, and has never got halfway there – this only adds to my evidence pile.
