Thank you to Bloom Books and Netgalley for providing me with this arc.

After enjoying book 1, I grabbed an arc of book 2 when it was read now on netgalley and I am happy that I did. I was super excited for JP and Kelsey’s book while reading book 1 and it was everything I could have wished it to be. This is an “enemies” to lovers book with a MMC who is annoyingly handsome and knows it and a woman who refuses to be charmed and doesn’t think he could possibly be what she wants. I used quotes for enemies as I personally really only consider a book enemies to lovers when they physically want to hurt each other but there isn’t a better word as they aren’t rivals either. This has some really funny and sweet moments while also having some great bickering and secret pinning.

Kelsey just wants to prove her worth as a new company but also really wants to find the one after seeing her sister so easily find the love of her life. JP Cane knows how to poke her buttons and all she wants is to be on friendly terms and maybe even friends while JP seems to believe that isn’t possible. When they are stuck in a penthouse together for 2 weeks everything comes to a boiling point and they have to figure out what their relationship will be going forward.

I love that these books are dual POV because we go from Kelsey hating JP to seeing JP’s internal monologue of just love and affection and not knowing how to voice it correctly and prove that he can be who she wants. Kelsey has her heart set on a very specific person for a romantic relationship so she misses what is right in front of her by writing him off as a playboy. JP instantly knew Kelsey was different and wanted to prove he wasn’t just some playboy and is exactly what she wants, but due to his past he isn’t great at verbalizing it. I loved seeing their relationship evolve from “enemies” to friends to lovers.

I am enjoying this series more than I expected and I can’t wait to read book 3 which I already have an arc of. I recommend this series if you want something that reads like a classic romcom.

I so, so enjoyed this one. If it's a "he falls first" novel, it's a guaranteed plus, in my opinion.

JP and Kelsey are... complicated. His brother is dating her sister. And she works for his company. Actually... he's basically her supervisor.

JP is a player who's come to the conclusion that a man and a woman in the workplace can't be friends. But that's all Kelsey wants from him. Is to be his friend. Because she knows what he's all about. And it's not what she's about.

What Kelsey is about is love. Finding that special someone. And that's something JP isn't about.

But a work trip is putting them pretty close together. As in they're staying in the same place. Working together during the day... what could go wrong?

JP was so funny. He and his brothers are getting along or definitely not getting along. Kelsey has a great relationship with her sister. A real enviable one.

Like every Meghan Quinn book, she brings THE FUNNY. I know without a doubt I'll be enjoying myself.

There's some angsty and tender moments as well. JP doesn't really know what he wants and how to get it, and the shenanigans get crazier and crazier. I also respect JPs respect for the world's misunderstood bird.

If you want a laugh and a romance, here's your book.

Meghan Quinn is officially one of my favourite authors! I loved the tropes in this book - Billionaire, Forced proximity, Workplace romance and we love when he falls first! The sexual tension was hotttt and kept me wanting to keep reading to find out how it all ends! Thanks for the arc netgalley!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloom Books for providing the ARC.

The second installment of the hilarious Cane Brothers series delivers just as much heat and romance as its predecessor, but this time featuring the middle Cane brother, JP.

I loved this book, mostly for the earnest way that JP slowly realizes what he needs to do to win the girl of his dreams and fully commits to it. There was no half measures or commitment phobia - just a man who wanted to show the woman he loves just how special and amazing she is. Does he mess up? Of course, but he brings them back stronger than before. And I just love that he managed to convince the insecure woman that she was beautiful, loveable, and perfect.

Not this first time I've read this book, but I love the updated covers and the addition of the artwork. It adds a new element to the story that I find myself enjoying so much more the 2nd time.

Her books are so much fun. Everything in her books just clicks with me every single time. The chemistry between Kelsey and JP was off the charts. Meghan does an excellent job creating likeable and interesting characters.

Kelsey and JP are matched with a 97% probable success rate on a new dating match, “Going in Blind”. The only problem is….they hate each others guts! This enemies to lovers story had me laughing, giddy and just the right amount of smut.

The queen of romcom has done it again! The story is kind of a continuation from A Not So Meet Cute, which I also loved. It's hilarious, beautiful, and well-written.

🔄 This was a re-read for me, but guess what? I didn't care—I loved this story so much that I just had to experience it again! 📖✨ Hence why I asked for another copy, I can't get over on how cute the new cover is GAH!.

This book has that enemies-to-lovers twist I love so much, a dash of forced proximity, and trust me, things get pretty steamy! 🔥

😅 The slow burn in this story is so intense, but in the best way possible - had me giggling and blushing! 🙈

😂 There were moments where I literally laughed out loud, on how funny this is.

💖 I really connected with Kelsey and her insecurities. It was like looking in a mirror and couldn't help but smile. 😊

🌱 What I adore most is the growth and support between the characters. I'm a total sucker for couples that help each other blossom, and this book absolutely delivers on that front. 🌺

Overall, a fantastic read that'll make you laugh, blush, and root for the characters. Highly recommend! 🌟

When I saw this book come up on my NetGallery I was like “New Meghan Quinn!! I must have it!” It wasn’t until I was reading it that I realised that I had read it before. I wasn’t mad about it though as I enjoyed it the first time around.

The whole pigeon thing was still cracking me up, especially the epilogue. He was so adorably anxious and excited to meet Kazoo that I had a big smile on my face.

From memory it wasn’t my favourite of the series, but I still loved it and love pretty much everything Quinn does.

Thanks to #NetGallery and the publisher. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

So Not Meant to Be by Meghan Quinn is a sizzling and laugh out loud enemies to lovers romance that takes a fresh spin on the classic When Harry Met Sally theme. The author skillfully weaves a narrative filled with witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and the irresistible allure of forbidden attraction. As the characters find themselves reluctantly sharing the same penthouse for work, readers are treated to a rollercoaster of emotions and a hilarious journey toward love.

Meghan Quinn has really improved as a writer. I prefer her recent work a lot more. I stopped after chapter 1 (4%), but this feels like a solid three stars, four for the right readers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC.

Thanks to NetGalley, Bloom Books, and Meghan Quinn for providing an eARC of So Not Meant to Be!

Meghan Quinn writes some of the most unbelievably weird, goofy, silly romances that I have read.

-

Kelsey has the pleasure of working with JP - her sister's soon to be brother in-law and billionaire. Oh, and perhaps the one person that can annoy Kelsey just by breathing. Being a hopeless romantic, she can't help looking for her soulmate, and Kelsey is CERTAIN that is not JP.

JP is everything Kelsey swears against. He is a womanizer with an endless rotation of new women whenever he needs his fill. With attachment issues brought on by the death of his father, JP hasn't been looking to let anyone in and have the chance to hurt him. Until, that is, when he met Kelsey.

With a blind date gone wrong and a healthy dose of forced proximity, Kelsey and JP find themselves looking deeper at their fears and what they truly need.

This is a good choice for those looking for billionaire romance with a large serving of silly dialogue.

Do you perhaps like sexually demanding, dirty talking men that also cry over animals and donate thousands to different charities? JP might be your man!

-

I found this much more enjoyable than the only other Meghan Quinn book I have read, Right Man Right Time. I still am not a fan of third act breakups, but at least it wasn't 100% because of a misunderstanding?

Tropes you can expect to see:
- Billionaire
- Workplace romance
- Forced proximity
- Third act breakup
- Grand gesture

This book was a nice slow burn with lots of tension and amazing banter. This was a great lighthearted read with just the right amount of spice. I’m excited to continue to the next book in this series.

Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc of this book.

Kelsey and JP may have great chemistry, but they also don't really get along. But how that changes when they are forced to travel, work together, and share the same penthouse. The forced proximity provides a lot of funny moments, but also starts to change their relationship as well.

I have read and loved a lot of Meghan Quinn books and this one is no exception. She does such a wonderful job building interesting characters and a story that will make you smile, laugh, and swoon. I can't recommend So Not Meant to Be enough!

My favourite from the Cane brothers series! I love When Harry Met Sally, and this book does the movie justice in a modern way. So cute, so funny, and I will forever love JP (and Kazoo)!

If I had to descibe this book in three words, I'd say it's witty, fun and entertaining.

And a bit horny

I guess that's four.

Anyways, it was like a romcom in book format, which was the point; but it was quite well done! The enemies to lovers trope is a classic but I genuinely felt that the female lead, Kelsey, would never fall for the male lead at the start of the novel. The occasional fourth wall break made me giggle. Also, the illustrations were a lovely bonus.

One of the best parts of the novel for me was the character development. Although I normally do not like the player/reformed player trope, JP was truly a wonderful male lead. I love the way he had his own insecurities and development. It felt like both him and Kelsey were equally the protagonists of this novel. Seeing his POV and feelings for Kelsey eased any frustration I had with him. I found Kelsey relatable in a few ways, which can be a good and bad thing. She's a romantic, but insecure (nothing wrong with that). However, she irrationally hated the male lead a bit too much at the start. She was childish and was a bit insufferable (this bit isn't relatable btw). Her uptight behaviour eased when she started having feelings for JP, thankfully.

This was my first Meghan Quinn novel, and I'm so glad it was. I'm looking forward to reading the next book, I have a feeling Breaker is going to be my favourite brother.

Thank you so much to Meghan Quinn, Bloom and NetGallery for the ARC, these are my honest thoughts.

Alright, I enjoyed the characters much more in this book than Lottie and Huxley in book one. JP is certainly the better brother in my opinion. I think the dialogue in book two was written a little better. Another note is I am absolutely LOVING the new covers! I am happy I continued with the series, I would say that A Not So Meet Cute and a So Not Meant to Be are great to get you out of a reading slump if you're in one, they're faced paced and easy to read. I would certainly say give this book a ready if you've read the first one, or even if you haven't. They're essentially connected standalones? This is not a revolutionary romance, but it is certainly a fun one with a touch of spice.
