Meghan Quinn does the best spicy romances! "So Not Meant to Be" is already a favorite and I'm so happy that it's now available.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Bloom Books publishing, and Meghan Quinn for this e-copy of So Not Meant to Be! This is one of my favorites of the series!

I love JP's character. He is relatable and funny and cute and sweet and a little cocky and sarcastic. His character development was really good. Kelsey needed to lighten up a little earlier than she did. I wish they would have communicated better.

The pigeon was hilarious and one of my favorite parts of the story. You just have to read to understand.

Please keep writing good books Meghan! I'm so excited to read more.

This book gives off strong BookTok vibes, and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, it just didn't resonate with me.

Firstly, the pacing is remarkably fast, presumably because it's a sequel and we’re supposed to know the characters but, really, we don’t. The overtly sexual flirting from the very beginning caught me off guard. While not every book needs to be a slow burn, the speed of the plot physically jarred me. I found myself double-checking if I had accidentally skipped ahead in the book multiple times, even in the first few chapters.

Second, there are so many obnoxious overdone tropes and while the author seems aware of it, the story is fully leaning into them with little to no originality.

Lastly, the dialogue was, at times, painful. Of course, I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum when it comes to dirty talk and flirting, but sometimes even the most basic conversations were written in such a weird way that felt awkward and unrealistic.

"Cancel the date. See me . . . Kelsey...see me."

JP is a smart, charming, successful man with serious abandonment issues. His slow descent into madness while trying to woo his crush, Kelsey, without letting her know he's wooing her will rip your heart out. It's so rare to see a novel - especially a romance - delve into men's mental health issues, but that's exactly what Meghan Quinn does in So Not Meant to Be.

There are no surface emotions in this book. Quinn takes you through the mind of a man who's spent years cultivating a persona to help hide who he really is, and it's all chipped away by a neurotic woman he can't stop thinking about.

I just wish the object of his affection deserved him.

Kelsey was the only part of this book I didn't like. Her one shining moment in this book took place in a hallway and involved a pantsing incident that will have you rolling in your chair. If THAT Kelsey had existed throughout the book, this easily would have received 5 stars!

The humor, character development, and pigeons (trust me on this) make So Not Meant to Be a must-read for fans of all things romance! My obsession with JP will last a lifetime, and I can't wait for more people to fall in love with him!

The BANTER. Meghan does this best!!! Her writing sucks you in. I loved the podcast tidbits - how fun. Their time in San Fran was adorable. Enemies to lovers is one of my favs. Then having to share a place on their work trip was EVERYTHING. JP showing Kelsey he was listening to everything she said… SWOON

Thank you for the chance to read this book.

I adore everything Meghan Quinn writes and this book is no different. This book has an amazing amount of humor that will have the reader laughing out loud. I literally can’t get over JP and these dang pigeons and I just absolutely adore this man. This book has such good banter and angst and the smut was top notch. JP has a filthy mouth and it had my jaw dropping. I definitely recommend this book.

4.5/5 – Book #2 of the Cane Brother Series; Available via Kindle Unlimited

Give me anything written by Meghan Quinn and I’m gonna be happy! Not as amazing as book #1, but I loved it none the less. It’s much slower of a buildup, but I liked the character development and the build-up of a will they/won’t they, with JP’s having secret feelings. The third act breakup was a bit hinky, but I still really enjoyed this book!

Brief Plot: JP and Kelsye work together, and she is not willing to hurt her company with any romantic thoughts of him. But after a terrible blind date, the two have to work in close quarters together in san Francisco for a work project, and JP has to decide if he is gonna put himself out there and tell Kelsey he has always been interested in more than a quick fling with her. (Kelsey also hosts a love soty podcast, and so many old characters of MQ come back to talk about how their relationships started – what a fun throw back!)

I’m not a huge When Harry Met Sally fan but Quinn did a great job with capturing the vibes of that film. I could definitely see the inspiration but with her own spin on it. I actually liked this one more! The banter was fantastic & the chemistry was hot. Would definitely recommend!
