I recently read a book set in Scotland, a place I hold dear to my heart, so my anticipation was high. However, this book turned out to be quite a disappointment. While I hoped for captivating secrets and unexpected twists, it fell short of my expectations.
The plot lacked the intrigue and surprises I was looking for, leaving me wanting more. The characters, too, failed to resonate with me, making it difficult to connect with their journeys.
Despite my disappointment with this particular book, I'm hopeful that the next one I pick up will be more engaging and captivating. Scotland's rich history and landscapes deserve a story that truly does justice to its beauty and mystique.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. This started off a bit slow with a lot of viewpoints and characters but still held my interest. I was invested in what was going to unfold in Jen’s hen party with such an array of guests. I love locked room and island mysteries and this one didn’t disappoint. I loved the isolated setting a well.
Great narration.
