Thank you Nancy Peña, Netgalley and Humanoids Inc., for this free ARC in exchange for a review.

Some of the characters are just disgusting, and their behaviour goes unchecked.

However, some of the illustrations had whimsy to them, and Watson's relationship with the cat was a bit charming.

I enjoyed how the cat is mysterious and gives people the creeps sometimes.

There are a few tiny bit's of whimsy here, but that second star is completely for the amusing, adorable duel.

(Warning: though this is a comic book / graphic novel, it's most certainly for adults only.)

ARC Copy...although I found the middle narrative parts confusing even tough my surreal senses could understand "the flow", did love the art work and fairytale narrative approach.

A beautiful illustrated graphic novel that reads like a fairy tale, part Alice in Wonderland, part imagined folklore. This is somehow abstract, somehow reminiscent of those children tales... the atmosphere is what makes this work special. This isn't Princess Kaguya, but if you like that kind of world, that claim for freedom... then this might be what you need.
I want to have so many of those illustrations on my walls!

While the art was quite pretty occasionally (mostly the parts with the story of the woman in the kimono), the plot was way too random and all over the place. Alice? Sherlock Holmes? Oh, come on.

This was the most different comic book that I have read, and that is not because of the story, but how the story is shown to us, it feels like several short stories that in truth all of the stories bring to life the missing black cat, and if you want to know what I am talking about, well you’ll need to read it.
My favourite parts of the book was where we didn’t have the typical cartoon pages, I loved the ones where it was more like a picture book for adults, with only red to give a touch of colour.
Actually this book was like jinjo ito, grabbed Alice in the wonderland and Sherlock Holmes and made a new story with those two worlds, and Watson was a cross over with the original strips of the addams family, and puff Mortimer was brought to life here, but maybe that was only for me…

it’s a story not for the faint of heart or children, I would suggest that this book is perfect for lovers of horror stories, and if like me you like horror stories, based in Asian horror stories that end up travelling the world, then this book is for you as well.

Thank you NetGalley and Humanoids, Inc, for the free ARC and this is my honest opinion.
