Life got in the way and I could not finish the book. Thanks to the publishers for the chance to read the book.

I'd like to thank the publisher for providing me with an ARC.

The narrator did a great job on the audio ARC I received. The characters are interesting. However I was a bit confused at times. However I do think this book was overall a fun read.

I was presently surprised how much I liked The Shape of Time by Ryan Calejo. It is the perfect combination of Sci-Fi and Fantasy and multicultural representation. There were flying dinosaur plus a biplane and space travel. What is not to love about this book!

Generally, this was a fun Middle Grade Sci-Fi.
The one thing I struggled with was the narrator. They fell into that stereotypical overexaggerated tone a lot of people use when they're adults trying to voice a teenage boy (think toy advert voice over. Obnoxious, a whiney tone etc.)

I found myself struggling to listen for extended periods due to how grating I found the narrator and I wish I had read this physically as I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I think the story itself is engaging and exciting and will definitely appeal to its intended demographic, hence the higher rating than I'd give it for my own personal enjoyment.

A great sci-fi mystery perfect for middle grade readers and all ages!

This was fun, fast-paced and I enjoyed the plot. It's about a boy who goes on an intergalactic quest and encounters weird and wonderful creatures. I liked the idea of the sub plots, and the characters were fun to follow. The audiobook itself was quite well done and I enjoyed how entertaining it was!

This was SUCH a wild and exciting ride! Antares is such likeable character. I did not see the plot twists coming! If you love galactic adventures, fascinating aliens, high stakes and heartbreaking family drama...this is the book for you.

I love Ryan Calejo’s series Charlie Hernandez & the League of Shadows so I was thrilled to see a new series. Although these are children’s books they are very entertaining! This book was no different. Basically it is a book about a kid who gets kidnapped and learns that he knows nothing about the world, as there are many kept secrets. The narration was amazing and quite entertaining. Normally I only listen to autobiographies as audiobooks because I get lost but this one had me hooked the whole time. I’ll for sure be reading/listening to more books in the series when they come out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
3.5/5 STARS

Genre: Middle Grade Science Fiction

I listened to this book on audio and thought the narrator was perfect for the middle grade age. It is about a boy who goes on an intergalactic quest and encounters all sorts of creatures. I liked the idea of the book, but found it a little confusing at times.. and I’m an adult. It reminded me a little bit of A Wrinkle in Time if it was written for middle graders. I think kids will connect with the book more.

Thank you to the publisher for the gifted copy!

I thought this was fantastic and I know some of my middle school students will be super into it. Great narration and story! Looking forward to reading/listening to more from this author.

For a middle grade book, I found this pleasantly complex. The world building was entertaining and the MC was sarcastic and funny. I am looking forward to the next in the series. Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC!

Antares is kidnapped by weird beings that came out of a lightening bolt, and taken to a prison in the middle of the Bermuda triangle. He meets a girl his own age there who rocks his world by explaining to him that the early is indeed flat and that there is more than meets the eye out past the border. There is a whole other world out there called Rimworld. Rimworld is where time is kept and Rimworld in trouble as it is being attacked by a group that just wants to take time over for themselves and Antares and his friend must stop them.
This book has a interesting story line and great characters. If you like The phantom Tollbooth you will like this book as well. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

5 adventurous stars!

Oh, this was some precious, hallucinating adventure! The Audiobook is just FANTASTIC!

This is exactly the kind of book and main character I love to read! It is the perfect combination of Sci-Fi and Fantasy and multicultural representation. Here are some reasons why you could love this book as much as I did:

- celestial vibes! The main character, Antares, is named after a star!
- Books, books, books, so much bookish love
- Astronomy, geometry, math... so much science.
- Mermaids AND aliens. My favorite two worlds: The ocean and the universe
- Astrology, fortune telling, conspiracy theories, and all the wonderful "obscure things."
- Hispanic rep: food, culture, all the latin love!
- Gaming

And here are some reasons to love Antares :

- EXPLORER! AND inquisitive, curious... just precious, a dreamer!
- Bookworm
- Hispanic, biracial, multicultural
- Anxiety and asthma rep,
- A male YA protagonist, those are rare nowadays!
