A romcom set in a cat cafe? Say no more! Adorable animal lover romcom that is evidently a sequel (note to self: find the first book to catch up!)

A cute, feel-good sequel to Cat Cafe!

I enjoyed Cat Cafe Christmas and was excited to see another of Gary's stories releasing.

This book follows loyal baker, best-friend, and cat lover Charity as she fights her work-acoholic nature to blow off some steam in Mexico alongside Will.

It isn't a spicy story perse if you are looking for that. More closed door romance. But it is a good feel good, adorable book to bring some happy feels into your reading circle.

I have not read anything by this author before, but I will definitely be looking out for their work in the future. I loved seeing the story unfold and seeing the characters grow.

Charity Simmons may have great taste in friends, felines, and fruit tarts, but if there’s one thing the baker and co-owner of Meow and Furever Cat Café knows, it’s that she has horrible taste in men. Case in point: Will Schwartz. He may be the best friend of her best friend’s boyfriend, but after their one night together, Charity is positive Will’s nothing but a womanizing charmer—despite his nice-guy persona and adorable, crooked smile. So why then did she pick him to fake-date to get her parents off her back about being single? Will may give real relationships a hard pass, but he's not about to say no to fake-dating Charity. She's beautiful, hilarious, and best of all, she'll put an end to his mother's interrogations about his love life. As time goes on, what if what they have isn't make believe but the real, forever kind of love?

Did I request this book on NetGalley based on the fact that the cat on the cover is my cat's clone? Why yes, yes I did. Meow and Furever was the perfect backdrop for the majority of this story, and with the author's ability to paint a vivid picture of every scene, it felt like I might as well have been sitting in the café enjoying the kittens myself. Each chapter started with a mention of a different cat-themed item from the cafe's menu, which was a nice touch to get the vibe of what Charity offers.

While Charity and Will had chemistry, some of their dialogue felt unnatural at times, and Will's whole shtick about not wanting to get married because he doesn't want to be financially tied to someone was very odd to me. When Charity brought up solutions, hello separate bank accounts, he remained stubborn in his way of thinking which irked me. Also, the baking show aspect was added in quite late and was not only rushed, but the rules of the show itself are unclear and very little baking is mentioned. It felt a little half-baked (pun intended) and either should have been expanded on or left out. Oh, and Charity's family sucks. My heart went out to her for having to deal with them, and though there is some resolution, they're just plain harsh. Kudos to her for sticking to her guns and pursuing what she wants, regardless of her family's feelings toward it.

All in all, it was an easy read, and the good outweighed the not-so-good. Though this wasn't a hit for me, I still want to read A Cat Café Christmas to get the backstory on the friends that brought these two together! Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a cute quick read about an opposites attract couple who starts fake dating to get their parents off their backs. Charity is the par owner and chef of the Meow and Furever Cat Café, and she’s got terrible taste in men. She goes on a vacation with a friend of a friend named Will, and after a great one in stand, she overhears him talking and decides he’s a womanizing charmer.

Will really likes Charity, but he doesn’t want a serious relationship based on issues from his childhood. However, when their parents get too aggressive about setting them up with family friends, they start fake dating, and their relationship grows with time.

There are several plot points that weren’t fleshed out, like Charity appearing on a a TV bake show. This book is definitely for cat lovers! 3.5 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

Such a cute follow up to Cat Café Christmas. As someone who continually dreams of owning and running a cat café, my favorite aspect of this book was watching the cat café grow. I am also a cat mama, so I am quick to pick up a cat-themed romance! I did not love this book as much as I had hoped, but it was a solid read and I will continue to read books by this author --- especially ones featuring cats.

Not posting to Goodreads or retail sites so as not to negatively affect potential future readers of this book or this author. As always, I am supremely grateful to the publishers for this advance review copy.

Such a cute follow up to the first in this series. I loved seeing the growth of Charity and Will both personally and with their families.

Charity Simmons cannot pick a good man to save her life. Will Schwartz is the perfect example. He wants nothing to do with marriage or commitment in general. They do have one thing in common: they both need to convince their families that they have a partner. Solution? Fake dating!
When I heard this book was about a cat cafe owner, I got SO excited! Maybe I built the book up a little too much, because it didn't live up to my dreams. The characters didn't seem very likable to me so it was hard to truly get into the romance. Even though the entire book felt very fast paced, there were definitely still cute moments I enjoyed between the couple. I also liked watching the cat cafe grow throughout the story. But what I didn't enjoy was how smaller pieces of the characters backgrounds or things they were up to besides the plot didn't feel fleshed out. The baking show Charity was chosen for, Will's issues at work, his background, etc.
If you enjoy more closed door romances and grumpy x sunshine, you might enjoy Find Mr Purrfect more than me. Happy reading!

As a cat mama, I’ll pretty much always pick up a cat themed romance. I loved a Cat Cafe Christmas, and I enjoyed Finding Mr. Purrfect just not as much. Charity and Will’s story felt overall chaotic to me. I think it bothered me that Charity and Will were at the same resort in a foreign country and managed to avoid each other for an entire week. Just seems rude 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, the baking show at the end felt a little kitschy.

Freaking PERFECTION. 10/10. This was just so so good. I couldn’t get enough of it and wanted a thousand more pages of this.

Finding Mr. Purrfect by Codi Gary is a charming and heartwarming romance novel that tells the story of Charity Simmons, a baker and co-owner of Meow and Furever Cat Café, who has terrible taste in men. Her one-night stand with her friend's boyfriend's best friend, Will Schwartz, has convinced her that he's nothing but a womanizing charmer, despite his nice-guy persona and adorable crooked smile. However, when Charity needs a fake date to get her parents off her back about being single, she chooses Will.

Will has always avoided relationships, but he can't say no to Charity's proposal. She's brilliant, hilarious, and he knows that pretending to date her will put an end to his mother's constant interrogations about his love life. As they pretend to date, they both realize that there's something more between them than just a fake relationship. They start to see each other in a new light, and they're both afraid of what it means.

Finding Mr. Purrfect is a delightful romantic comedy that will make you laugh and swoon. The characters are well-developed, and the chemistry between Charity and Will is undeniable. The book is a perfect blend of humor, romance, and drama, and it keeps you engaged until the last page. If you're a fan of romantic comedies, then Finding Mr. Purrfect is a must-read.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. Finding Mr purrfect was a sweet little rom com about a girl with trust issues from previous relationships finding love with his best friends boyfriends best friend. She initially thinks he’s a bad boy player and then finds he’s actually a nice guy. Problem with him was that he has a toxic relationship with money since his parents were constantly in debt. So now he will never get married because he doesn’t want to share a bank account. I just didn’t care for that excuse. A very strange reason not to get married. Otherwise I liked the character. I also wish this book had more spice.

This book as decent. This was a classic enemies to lovers book that had a little humor as well. It had a little more family drama than I expected but all in all I would read a book from the author again.

I really liked this book! It's a cute, fun HEA that has plenty of humor, chemistry, and a bit of romance. This is a closed door romance, so there is a bit of heat but nothing too racy! The characters are so likeable, and of course the cats add a level of humor and cuteness, too! I just learned that this is a sequel to Cat Cafe Christmas, so adding that to my TBR right now:) Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for access to an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

What I Liked

This book brings in some great Romance tropes. There's a little bit of enemies-to-lovers at the start, followed by some fake dating, which is one of my favorite tropes.

The banter between Will and Charity is spot on and I loved their dynamic. It was so fun to watch them fake date with so much real attraction between them.

The cat-themed recipes throughout were a nice touch to start each chapter and give us a sense of the type of stuff Charity serves up in the cafe.

Also, the cats are real winners as always. Cats always steal the show, and this book is no different.

What I Didn't Like

Some of the dialogue felt stiff, particularly with how the characters often would say things like "you are" instead of "you're" in a way that didn't quite feel natural to me. Once I started noticing it, I couldn't stop, and it kind of pulled me out of the story at times.

The baking reality show plotline came in a little late and was resolved a little quickly for me. It felt like an afterthought in a lot of ways, even if it did serve to provide some conflict for Charity and her family. I almost wish it didn't happen on page with how late it came into the book.

In all, I very much enjoyed Finding Mr. Purrfect. It's a cute love story with plenty of cats and tasty treats, giving it those cozy vibes while still also bringing in some realistic obstacles for our couple to navigate. I definitely recommend this one to fans of the Romance genre and to cat lovers everywhere. Finding Mr. Purrfect came out on January 16th, so it's out in the world for you to enjoy!

I have mixed feeling about this one. I liked the Cat Café. Any story that spotlights rescue animals is a plus with me. The marketing menu blurbs at the start of each chapter were fun and more than a few had me drooling. I want recipes! But what had a promising start quickly got cluttered with a whole boatload of side issues take took my attention - and sense of connection - away from the romantic journey of the main couple. There were parts I enjoyed. There were also parts where I wanted to throw my hands up and walk away. Other readers may feel differently. In the end, I liked it well enough to give 3.5 stars.

If you enjoy a frenemies-to-lovers romcom with flawed characters, a fair number of romantic obstacles, family you'd just as soon toss off a cliff, but also solid friends and rescue cats, this book might be a good fit for you.

Charity and Will end up having a steamy night together on vacation after their best friends end up bailing on their planned group trip. When Charity makes out Will to be her new boyfriend to get her parents off her back Will decides to go along with it since he doesn’t plan on ever being in a committed relationship and his mom has been pestering him as well. The more time Charity and Will spend together the more they realize there is more then just attraction between them. As Charity faces more heat about being on a reality baking show and Will deals with his mom’s illness they begin to depend and support each other. But will everything go up in flames?

I loved what a strong female character Charity is and how she pursues her dreams no matter the familial pressures she has to endure. An having a mom with a chronic illness I connected with Will as well. And of course, CATS!!!

Sadly I didn't love this one. It starts off with two people meeting on a Mexican vacation and later striking up a fake relationship back IRL. Sort of an opposites attract situation with lots of toxic family drama, a reality baking show contest and a cat cafe. Good on audio but I was disappointed that this one didn't deliver the same kind of humor I've come to expect in her novels. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

This is my fifth title by this author and I really enjoy her writing. It's fast-paced, fun, full of banter, and hot. I enjoyed the frenemies-to-lovers and fake dating tropes, and they seemed to go decently well together. Charity and Will weren't my favorite couple, but I appreciated how they each had hang ups to overcome throughout the book, giving them some depth.

I don't know that I necessarily believe Will's fears were addressed deeply enough to warrant his proposing to Charity, and it was hard to tell what the timeline was between them getting together, him getting the ring, and them getting engaged. It seemed a little fast, which there isn't necessarily anything wrong with that, but given Will's history it just seems completely out of character.

Also, the baking competition storyline seemed so out of place. I definitely think we could've found a different storyline for Charity or just eliminated it altogether. It just felt kinda slapped together for being something that was a major plot point.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read with good pacing. I'd give it 3.5 stars and recommend it to friends looking for a quick, romantic read filled with cute cats.

This book was lackluster and I really tried to like it. More of a chore than a joy to read. This is my second book by this author that didn’t work for me so probably done reading their books for a bit.
