The narrator, Mark Meadows, did a great job between the two voices in this book. This was a sweet romance with a twist, mainly because we see the inside of the villain's head.

I love that there was some action in this story and a mystery that we had to watch them try to solve

The story progressed beautifully, and I enjoyed reading this one.

Elizabeth 'Bitsy' Dockering has been the diamond of the Ton for the last two season and she has not been short of suiters. One of her most ardent suiters is not a fan of her beloved dog, Galahad, and Galahad is not a fan of Peter Cawdrey. Galahad is a black poodle known as a demon dog, through no fault of his own. Then Bitsy loses control of Galahad in Hyde Park and accidentally takes home the wrong dog, Michael Blumley's black poodle, Lancelot. This starts a chain of events that will change the course of Bitsy's life.

Michale Blumley, the Duke of Loriton is only looking after Lancelot as a favour to his favourite Aunt while she is on holidays. He would much rather be in his study solving the scientific problems of the world. He is not at all interested in society and what society deems acceptable. Even if he is one of the wealthiest people and most eligible bachelors in all of London. When both Galahad and Lancelot are stolen must work with Elizabeth (not Bitsy, thank you) to find them. Little does he know that he will start to enjoy his time with Elizabeth.

Will they find the dogs? Will the dogs be unharmed? Who stole them and why? And what will Michael and Elizabeth both do when they realise they actually enjoy each other's company?

I loved this book! It was fun and witty. It was a classic historical romance similar to Georgette Heyer - a cross between Jane Austen and PG Wodehouse. While there was next to no spice, it didn't at all matter. I listened to this as an audiobook which was narrated by Mark Meadows. I was worried that a man narrating a historical romance would not work, but Mark is amazing. Hid differentiation between characters was fantastic. I especially enjoyed his Cawdrey - hilarious!

Big thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Suzanne Enoch for this early release copy in exchange for my honest review. PS I loved it!

This was essentially a cozy mystery with a lot of dogs. Elizabeth/Bitsy is in her second season, and has a naughty black poodle, Galahad. Michael has been taking care of his aunt's black poodle, Lancelot, when he and Bitsy have an incident at the park and their dogs get mixed up.

Meanwhile, Peter has been pursuing Bitsy but Galahad does not like him. He gets a bright idea that if Galahad wasn't in the picture that Bitsy would marry him and he'd get her large dowry. You can see where this is going ....

The mystery involves poodle mix ups, Elizabeth and Michael discovering an interest in each other, and the reformation of the thief who steals the dog(s). It's a cute cozy mystery, light clean romance, and a must read for dog lovers.

I listened to the audiobook and while the narrator was a bit overly posh for my tastes, after awhile I started to not notice him so he didn't make the book better or worse, the book was as good in audio format as it would be in book or e-book.

I received an advanced copy and am giving and honest review.

An adorable enemies to lovers, sweet clean romance involving 2 dog owners who's beloved pups get swapped and pup napped. Find out who did it, why they did it and what happens next.

I was initially drawn to this book due to the absolutely adorable cover art with the poodles and I am happy to report that it did not disappoint!

The premise of this book is so much fun. An accidental dog switching occurs between the two MCs during a chaotic walk in the park. The perfect meet cute! I loved how the poodles were main characters in their own right and actually had such distinct personalities. This was a closed door romance as well which I was not expecting, but I was enjoying the plot and drama so much that I didn't miss the spice. The romance between the MCs was very believable for me even without any of those scenes.

There was, surprisingly, a large focus on the side plot of the dog-napper. Originally, I was not interested in his motivations/inner thoughts, but over time he really grew on me! The interactions he had with the dogs and the adorable side romance plot we got with him actually became some of my favorite parts of the book.

The narration of the audiobook was fantastic as well. Great distinction between characters, narration for the villain that made him so easy to hate, and overall an audiobook that I will return to on a re-read!

Another winner by Suzanne Enoch: entertaining, well written, and compelling.
I had fun, rooted for the characters and couldn't wait to hear what was going to happen
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This book was an absolute delight. I didn’t expect it, wasn’t quite sure what style of historical romance it was, but gamely jumped into the audiobook because I was on a his-rom genre binge.

At first, I didn’t quite gel with the male narrator doing the woman’s pov too, but I came around. He found the groove, or the story just became so good I didn’t even notice the different affectations anymore. Either way, I recommend it, ended up loving the delivery and was sad when it was over.

The story is a fun meet-cute of opposites. The taciturn scientific Duke meets the effervescent society lady, and there’s a doggy mix-up. It’s sweet, fun, and charming. Circumstances keep throwing them together and their willful, though contradictory, natures find them embroiled in a cute attraction. It’s all very chaste but still entirely satisfying.

And the B plot! The secondary characters and their journey was so endearing. Added in with the villainous conspiracy of the antagonist and it created a full and complete story. I was charmed by the wit and intellect throughout while also being light and fun. Highly recommend.

I LOVED this book!
The narrator was tremendous, and did many different voices for the characters.
Plot-wise: Well-devised! I liked how the story unfolded, and the sexiness stayed classy!
No sex scenes in this book, so don't read this thinking there will be any of those. Just actual romance and clever conversation! CUTE.

Every Duke Has His Day was delightful. Regency romances are as ubiquitous as dust bunnies around my house, but this one was fresh, with Elizabeth "Bitsy's," independence and curiosity coming across as natural rather than superimposed to make history more appealing to modern women. And it was funny. I generally hate contrived comedy, but somehow Ms. Enoch pulled it off, and the villains' missteps and slip-ups had me genuinely laughing instead of rolling my eyes. Hero Michael, aka the Duke of Woriton, had my allegiance from the start as he graciously agreed to care for his aunt's poodle even as the idea made him apprehensive. I loved it Every Duke Has His Day, and it's sent me chasing down Suzanne Enoch's backlist.

Thank you for opportunity to listen to this audiobook. I absolutely loved it! Reviews were made on Barnes and Noble, Goodreads, Amazon, and Twitter:

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook! Unlike most regency books with a reformed rake or some alpha male needing to find wife, we have a mild mannered brainiac for a Duke who enjoys performing experiments rather than spending time with friends and frivolity. After being forced to dog sit his aunt’s poodle, he literally runs into the Diamond of the Season while out walking the dog. She too was walking her dog and pandemonium ensues. Along the way, there are two dog snatchings, multiple investigations into the whereabouts of the dogs, and much to the Duke’s chagrin, conversation between himself and the beautiful young miss who is much more intelligent and interesting than her appearance suggests. I loved listening to the Duke’s transformation throughout this book, especially his impromptu profession of love at the end of the story. Brava!

i absolutely loved this from beginning to end. it was adorable, funny, and fast paced. the humor had me giggling and the primary romance was a swoony slow burn. i love how michael and elizabeth became friends first trying to figure out the mystery of who stole their dogs. the romance snuck up on them and it was just the sweetest revelation. i also loved the secondary romance and the redemption arc for jimmy bly. lord peter got exactly what he deserved — SO satisfying! the narration was fantastic and i highly recommend this if you’re looking for a book with all the feels plus plenty of laughter along the way.

romance: kisses

thank you to st. martin’s press and dreamscape audio for advanced copies. my thoughts are my own.

This was a very lighthearted historical romantic comedy novel that was easy to listen to on audiobook. I enjoyed the narrator and his accent, however I did end up listening to it sped up. The general antics were fun and very light, lots of poodle silliness, but the romance was a bit hard to believe. There was just something missing between Bitsy and the Duke, and it didn't feel authentic as they were coming together. However if you're in the mood for a quite silly, easy read you may enjoy this. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

DOGS! This story has DOGS! I mean what else do you need to know? I guess maybe that a couple of doggies are dognapped but no worries as they are treated well while they are away from their owners.

Michael Blumley is Duke of Loriton and is FAR more interested in his science than dances and meeting people. He has agreed to keep his aunt's dog while she is off visiting.

Elizabeth Dockering is the daughter of a viscount and has the eye of several eligible bachelors in town. Her dance card is full at every event. Most notably Peter Cordray is interested and extremely persistent in getting Elizabeth to marry him. Too bad for him Elizabeth's dog, Galahad, is NOT a fan of Peter and lets him know at every turn.

On one wet afternoon walk Elizabeth and Michael run into each other, literally, and in a twist swap dogs. No big deal right? WRONG. Peter has a nasty plan in motion that causes Michael and Elizabeth to team up, growing closer and growing feelings.

I loved this story. It was so sweet and grumpy/sunshine is one of my all time favs. If you like that trope or even just like a sweet romance and dogs then give this one a go!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to and review this book.

Thanks to NetGalley and Suzanne Enoch for the chance to read this ARC.
Closed door romance, classic Hollywood screwball romcom plot, but thoroughly enjoyable to read!
Michael is a duke and absent-minded professor who spends most of his time doing science experiements. His aunt asks him to look after her black poodle for her while she’s away - what can go wrong?

Definitely a fun read that I’d recommend to every rom com lover.

The audio book was a little hard to follow along with. It might have been because of the voices.

An unexpected encounter between the two main characters in the park leads to lost notes, a swim in the Serpentine, and a mix-up involving Lancelot and Galahad. Michael and Bitsy join forces to find the missing poodle, and despite their differences, they discover unexpected chemistry. The romance was cute and charming. I enjoyed the story line. It was just hard to follow along at times.

Historical romance that includes poodles? Say less. I was so excited to read this (mainly for the poodles), but it was just… fine. The romance felt a little hokey and Bitsy was an annoying character, but that was probably because her age did make her feel too young to be considered a true love interest.

Thank you to Suzanne Enoch, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to an e-audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This comedy of errors was great! Bit of a silly premise, but entertaining. The hero could have easily come across as an ass rather than endearing, but Enoch kept him on the good side of that line. I enjoyed watching him slowly realize he was attracted to Elizabeth.

My favorite part, though, was probably the B-storyline romance between Sally and . . . I forgot him name. Apologies, it's been a couple weeks since I listened to it. But I loved that guy's arc. Both men's arcs.

I'll be keeping an eye out for more Enoch books.

Content warning: animal cruelty

Elizabeth "Bitsy" Dockering is the diamond of the season (the most desirable single lady for the uninitiated) and everyone knows she'll be engaged soon to Lord Peter Cordray. There's only one problem -- Bitsy's dog Galahad hates Peter. Cordray arranges to have the dog stolen so he can move in on Elizabeth, but his thief accidentally captures another black poodle named Lancelot.

Lancelot belongs to Lady Mary Harris, but her nephew Michael, Duke of Loriton is caring for the pooch while she's away. When Michael finds out his aunt's dog is stolen, he uses his keen scientific mind to investigate the case of the missing poodle. When Elizabeth offers to help, the two find they have more in common than black dogs.

Recommended for readers of historical romance looking for something different. This is Bridgerton meets Sherlock Holmes, and is a very refreshing new title in a sometimes repetitive genre.

Every Duke Has His Day by Suzanne Enoch

Michael is a Duke and is completely uninterested in the lifestyle that comes along with it. He has dedicated his life to science and bettering the human condition. He’s a little passed the age for marrying. He has earned a reputation for being something of a mad scientist and hermit in London’s upper crust society. On the other hand, Bitsy is the toast of the Season. She is well-liked and very popular. She is being courted by Peter, the second son of a viscount, and while rich and popular, he isn’t all that interesting to Bitsy.

As the book opens, Michael’s aunt has left her beloved black poodle with him while she goes to stay with a friend. She gives strict instructions for Michael to walk the dog regularly. Bitsy also has a black poodle that she loves dearly. However, he’s aggressive and not popular with anyone else. While out walking the dogs they have a wild reaction to each other leading to a swap. As you can imagine, Michael and Bitsy’s lives get turned upside down.

This is a fun, fast, cheerful book that was such a nice mental break last week. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for an advanced copy of this book. It’s out now!
