I nice twist on the story of Little Red Ridding Hood. "Red" is a wolf and falls into trouble when trusting the wrong person.

This is perhaps one of the darkest reinterpretations of Little Red Riding Hood I've ever read and I loved every minute of it. The artwork is just lush and detailed and amazing with wonderful white highlights. If this book was around when I was little my grandmother and I would have read it daily and poured over the illustrations. It's perfection.

THIS WAS SUCH A CUTE STORY AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH

I loved how it was from a wolf's point of view, and it was lovely to read, the art was so beautiful too, I would love to have it on my shelves.

Creepy and spooky, but in a good way! I really enjoyed the art throughout this story and the conflicting songs really make you wonder what the truth is. I thought this was a cool twist on Little Red Riding Hood.

I received an electronic ARC from Oni Press through NetGalley.
A retelling of Little Red Riding Hood with a twist. Readers meet Little Red Wolf and watch his carefree jaunt through the forest. He was supposed to stay on the path and go to his grandmother's home but wandered off. As the twist continues, he meets a lovely young girl who offers to bring him home and find him what he needs. From here, the twists turn much darker. The young wolf is rescued by his father who tells him the true story of what happened in the woods to change the humans to their destructive path. Well done spin with so much to discuss and think about. I love the ending that resolves nothing. The artwork is dark and foreshadows the events to come.

Beautifully drawn with a whimsical and comfy art style that's perfect for a Red Riding Hood retelling. A very nice take on the story with a bittersweet ending. It makes me wish it was a little longer -- even though it doesn't need to be. I really adored each page and the coloring as well!

Thank you NetGalley and Oni-Lion Press for the opportunity to read this gorgeous book.

WOW. Stunning illustrations and a haunting yet intriguing tale, what more could you want?! The details in the art were my favorite part, especially the little wisps! The atmosphere and mood of this book felt perfectly in line with the upcoming fall season. Highly recommend!

A beautiful history that shows how folklore and myths can change depending on who's telling them, and the influence they have in society. With gorgeous art and a simple yet captivating story, this short tale finds its way right into the reader's heart long before the last page.

5 plus plus. Perfect to collect or gift. What an amazing retelling of this classic story. This graphic novel doesn't have the comic page format of multiple panels but Each page is a full painting/illustration. The artwork is breathtaking. I always am grateful when the designers are careful with the font of the text. The font is beautiful and appropriate to go with the mood and artwork of the story.
The Little Red Wolf gets sidetracked and lost in his quest and faces perils ahead. We learn more about the other characters with a beautiful flashback story too. Really beautiful. Thank you NetGalley and published for this eARC.

I received a complimentary book from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I enjoyed this Little Red Riding Hood retelling with a twist. The book tells the story of Little red wolf who is sent to deliver a package to his grandmother. It's a fast paced , well illustrated and enchanting. I recommend this book to librarians, teachers and young at heart.

Once upon a time there was a little red wolf who lived in a tree house in a thick and mysterious forest. The young wolf sets out on a journey to bring his grandmother a rabbit when he's charmed by a nice little girl who offers to help him with his problem. But nice is not the same as good. So what help did the little red wolf accept?

A nice variation on the story of Red Riding Hood. I was instantly in love with the artwork in the book. The drawings are so so beautiful and they really fit the story. Even if you wouldn't like the story, you'd probably adore the drawings. But the story is good too and you'll soon find out there's always two sides of a story. I thought that this was a beautiful story with a powerful message. Loved it!

Wow. Wow. What a gorgeously illustrated dark and somber take on the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale. I absolutely love this rendition, despite it being quite unsettling, will definitely purchase it for my daughter!

In the best tradition of fairy tales, this is dark but in a wondrous way. The balance of the adorable wee wolf with the dramatic peril of his situation is a contrast that works well for me as an adult. This book is absolutely stunning, it’s a work of art! The illustrations & colour palette are majestic and make the world of the little red wolf come to life.

It’s deliciously macabre.

I legitimately gasped when I saw the artwork it was breathtaking. The story told in reverse where the men were the bad guys was a good refreshing take. My five year old was scared but in the best way. Was a great quick suspension filled read.

While I appreciate the clever spin on this classic tale it was much too dark even for me. I wouldn’t have my daughter read this until she was 10 at the earliest but honestly I’m not sure I’d recommend it for any kids who, like her, are soft hearted and love animals dearly.

The illustrations were nice and I’m sure plenty of people will love this, it’s just not the right fit for our home.

THIS was one excellent and creepy book; a fantastic retelling of Little Red Riding Hood that will send shivers up your spine.

Fantastically illustrated [seriously y'all, some of these are the things nightmares are made of], you will find yourself deep into the story simply by trying to see all the illustrations are trying to tell you along with the story.

Perfect for kids [AND their caregivers] that love scary and I can see them going back to this again and again [in fact, I just said to a friend, that this is one I would absolutely own in print copy]. Absolutely fantastic!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Amélie Fléchais, Jeremy Melloul - Translator, Andrea Colvin - Editor, and ONI Press for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a delightfully twisted little fairytale!

I have a soft spot for darker retellings, and that's why The Little Red Wolf gets full marks in my book. The artwork is absolutely stunning. The story is engaging, putting a spin to an old and beloved tale. Atmospheric, adorable, but also a bit creepy at times (in the best way). I don't have a lot of picture books in my collection, but I think I'd like to pick this one up to add to my library!

A 5/5 star read.

Gorgeous! Stunning! Beautiful!
The story is simple and tragic, and as someone who loves grim fairytales, I thought it was wonderful. It was able to capture the charming, yet dark and eerie atmosphere.
I believe the original was not written in English, and I imagine the poem rhymes in the original? I was a bit sad it didnt rhyme in the English version, but even so, worth reading.
