Light, easy to read, some heavy themes regarding pregnancy and family relationships.
Short in length, these books are great for wasting time, Saving Rachel was marginally better than Protecting Mandy. Left a decent cliff hanger for book 3, Guarding Viktoria.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Rachel and Harris. They meet at a bar in their hometown. They have a one night stand. About two later Harris comes by to see Rachel. He tells her she is pregnant. He starts to help her at her B & B. Strange things start to happen like switching coffee, a code violation at the B & B and her mother talking about the treasure in the backyard. They fall in love.

In the second installment featuring the McCallister brothers, the focus shifts to Harris and his relationship with Rachel, whom he affectionately calls his fierce fairy. Tangled emotions and external threats challenge their budding romance, which began after a passionate encounter sparked by Harris's personal losses. Rachel faces threats from her mother and her boyfriend, who seek a legendary pirate's treasure rumored to be on her B&B property. Additionally, Rachel discovers she is pregnant with Harris's child. Harris steps up to protect Rachel and their unborn baby, leading to a deeper bond as they navigate dangers and uncertainties together. As they confront their fears and insecurities, they must learn to communicate and trust each other to build a future. The characters are compelling, drawing readers into their captivating and entertaining story filled with intrigue and romance.

Greatly enjoyed this romance between Harris and Rachel. Both characters have flaws and insecurities but an unplanned pregnancy brings them closer together. Harris is very sweet and protective of his new family. The storyline of treasure hidden on Rachel's land was a little bit silly but it introduced a threat in the form of her mother's boyfriend and it gave Harris opportunities to flex his muscles.
A good read. I'm interested in reading Guarding Viktoria next.

Awesome, after Chance found his love with Mandy, we now move over to Harris. But Harris is still in the marines. Currently he is on leave, but he will return when he is cleared for duty. Because his last mission screwed him up pretty bad, after his best friend was killed in action.

Frustrated and depressed, he gets a drink at Rachel’s bed and breakfast and ends up in her bed. When Rachel finds out, that she is pregnant from their one night stand, she doesn’t think Harris will be there for her. But surprisingly, Harris is pretty okay with it.

But while Rachel and Harris are trying to navigate this soon-to-be-parenthood thing, there are also some strange things happening, almost causing Rachel’s life. It seems that Rachel’s mother is trying to get her hands on the treasure she believes is lying around on the property.

Of course, Harris will not let the mother of his child endangered, so he will pull out the big guns (yeah, literally….) to keep them safe. As always, Leslie keeps you on the edge of your seat. four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This was an enjoyable short romance read and the second in the McAllister brothers series but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

This book includes the pregnancy trope which I know not everyone enjoys but I do and this book was no different.

I also enjoyed the pirate treasure aspect of this story which added something else besides the romance.

I enjoyed Rachel and Harris romance from their witty interactions to their loyal show of commitment. I would have liked a little more at the end but that can be the case with trying to tie up a short story.

I would recommend if you’re looking for a quick easy read.

Harris has known Rachel for years but now they have met up again each helping the other one. First Rachel helps Harris because he needs a place to stay and she offers a room at her bed and breakfast. he helps her when he finds out that her mother and her new boyfriend are after her and the property because of some legend about a lost treasury. but each incident has increased with violence and Harris is after her mother's boyfriend while protecting her. A good story from beginning to end.

I really enjoy Leslie North and a good ole alpha male is always a winner!

Harris is in a one month leave when his best friend and father pass. At the bar one night Rachel approaches and offers to help him forget.

Then the shock that she is pregnant comes!

Rachel runs a small B&B out of a property she and her mother inherited. Town legend says there is a pirate treasure hidden there. Her mothers latest boyfriend is convinced they MuST find it. Then strange things start happening on the property; broken stair trend, brakes don’t work in the car, etc.

Harris stays to help Rachel and they fall in love.

This isn’t my favorite trope and the story didn’t pull me in like some others by Leslie. Still a good short read.

This is the second book in the series McCallister Military Brothers by Leslie North. The story of Raider and Rachel. It’s an easy read, nothing complex and a very basic plot.

Not worth the hype. I’ve read many books about military men. This one was okay. I expected a lot more to the story. I wanted to know more about his teammates. If you’re apart of a military team then those guys are like family. Not once did the author give mention about his teammates except about Shawn. There were no details about him either except that he was killed. There wasn't much to the story line and I think that this book could've had more potential if it was written better. Also, very short read for 166 pages.

This is the second book in the series. Harris is having a hard time dealing with loosing his best friend at the same time as his dad. He has longed to have a night with this fantastic girl named Rachel. She is absolutely gorgeous and when she comes over and offers him what he has been wanting, he is going to make the most of the night. One night has totally changed Rachel’s world and when Harris returns to see her again, she is scared to hope that maybe she can have it all. Will things work out or will she have another disappointment. I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A Military, Accidental Pregnancy, Thriller romance.

This was a nice quick, fast paced read with some dramatic moments. I would have loved to see the treasure hunt aspect of the book explored more. As well as this Id like to have seen more development in Harris and Rachel's relationship. Overall a good fast paced book.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc :)

Fun weekend read. Not quite a cliff-hanger, but I wanted more information at the end! Need to read the next in the series for answers.

North just does a good job of sucking you into a story and cheering on characters. This is the second book in the McAllister brothers series and we get to meet the middle brother Harris and our spunky heroine Rachel. There are sparks from the beginning and this quick romance read doesn't disappoint. I can't wait to read about Lee the final story in the series.

I like that even though these books are connected they each have their separate stories. I like the idea that there is a pirate treasure aspect to the story. Both Rachel and Harris need to work on their communication skills. A happily ever after in the end but it was a close call.

I love this series, and truly enjoyed this book. I did Prefer Mandy's story a bit more, but Rachel was a strong woman, who just needed some positive in her life. Such great characters, love the brothers. The plot moved along at a fast and steady pace, and was truly captivating. Looking forward. to Lee and Viktoria's story..

I've read a number of Leslie North's books over the years and reading this felt like comfort food. There's always a spunky heroine, a dashing hero, SEX and some some sort of drama (often a combination of unexpected pregnancy and danger). It was exactly what I was craving.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Relay Publishing through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Relay Publishing.
