I loved first book I read to by this author, Sex Ed, so when I saw she had a new Christmas coming up. I jumped at the chance to review it.

This is the perfect book for the run up to Christmas. Ignore the present wrapping and the turkey prep and meet Eve and Joe as they spend Christmas delivering five rings to their customers. You’ll chuckle and have your heart warmed as you join them for festive fun, romance, revenge and drunken adventures… all whilst forging a new future. I really enjoyed the surprise in the epilogue. Exactly what I wanted to read! I actually really hope that someone options this book. It would make an amazing film.

If festive reads, friends to lovers and books about mischief and road trips are your thing, congratulations, you have it all lined up for you in Five Gold Rings. Enjoy!

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley. Kristen Bailey and Storm Publishing for the ARC of Five Gold Rings. This is my personal review.
I read the line totally hilarious and unforgettable Christmas rom-com and I was hooked before even reading the first page.
Sadly, this one was not the book I thought I was going to get to read. It fell short of story line – chemistry – hilarious (not so much) unforgettable not for me. I finished reading and did not stop and ponder what I had read for too long after the last page. I wanted to feel a pop and sizzle at some point between Eve and Joe.
This will make an excellent Hallmark movie.

This is a great festive feel good read! Eve has just discovered her boyfriend has been cheating and needs some distraction. She embarks on a road trip with her work colleague to deliver 5 gold rings for the jewellers they work for. I loved the 2 main characters and felt this book was the most endearing of this author's books to date. There are still plenty of laughs in true Kristen Bailey style and this is my favourite to date.

This book was such a fun and festive holiday read. I find that many Christmas books are set around the holidays, but the storyline has nothing to do with them and it’s more of an afterthought. That is not the case with this book. In Five Gold Rings two coworkers at a jewelry store have to deliver 5 rings over Christmas. Eve has just discovered her boyfriend is cheating on her, and Joe has had a crush on Eve for years. Each ring delivery is a different setting and experience that the two main characters navigate together, and it’s so fun to journey along with them and see all the crazy shenanigans they get into along the way.

I adored how festive this book was. There were so many Christmas references and it drove the entire plot. I’m a little sad I had to read this in October rather than closer to Christmas. I also loved all the little details the author sprinkled in that were so nuanced you might miss them if you’re not paying attention. There were so many little references to things the couple had in common, like loving the same tv show or having the same taste in chocolates that only the reader got to know. It was so cute to see how well they worked together and got along, and I loved how much Joe cared for Eve and loved her from afar. I laughed so many times in this book with all the crazy side characters and hilarious situations they got into, and the final ring delivery had me tearing up. I kept thinking this book would make an amazing holiday rom com movie.

I like to read books by British authors and usually have no trouble with the different brands, phrases, or names of things, however I will say this was the most “British” book I’ve ever read and there were several times I had to look things up or reread a sentence to make sure I knew what they were talking about. It didn’t stop me from liking the book though! It was just a different style of writing than I’m used to reading.

This book is fun, hilarious, heartfelt, sweet, and all the different proposals and weddings gave it the perfect amount of romance that wasn’t only about the main characters. It will take you on an adventure and get you in the Christmas spirit.
Read if you love:
-Christmas/holiday romance
-Unrequited love
-Friends to lovers
-Main characters finding themselves in funny situations

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

A super cute, Hallmark-Christmas story. Eve is struggling through a terrible break up on Christmas and her coworker, Joe is there to save the day. Eve is so innocent and broken but it was such a joy to see Joe bring out her goofy side. Joe is hilarious and a lover of Christmas. They made such a cute couple, it was hard not to fall in love with them. The storyline of having to deliver wedding and engagement rings on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was different and adorable. Especially when Eve and Joe got mixed up in the festivities. I laughed almost the whole time so the comedy was on point.

One of my bookish pet peeves is long chapters and this one had just that. If anything, maybe the dual POV could have been done in chapters instead of having half the chapter in Eve’s POV and the next be in Joe’s. But if that’s my only criticism, I would say this was a good one!

Unfortunately for Eve, she's having just about the worst start to her Christmas holidays. Fortunately for us, what follows in this book is a story filled with humour, friendship, love and joy while also tinged with sadness and grief. I laughed out loud and cried while reading this book, a whole roller coaster of emotions.

The whole concept of the book following a few days delivering five gold rings for proposals and weddings is super cute! You get to see all kinds of love and celebrate it in different ways. Each brings Eve and Joe closer and helps Eve heal her damaged heart. Joe is the sweetest guy and is caring and supportive. He’s everything you want for Eve as she uncovers how much of an ass her ex really was. Joe has been quietly adoring her for awhile and while sometimes it felt a bit awkward for them to be falling so fast at such a hard time in Eve’s life, I decided to suspend disbelief and go with the flow and enjoy. Maybe, as the author points out through another character, we don’t get to choose when love finds us.

Some real highlights (hopefully without spoiling anything) are the flash mob, mistletoe kisses, Olaf and his stolen turkey, Burger King crowns, little old French ladies, and making the most of the time we have. That last one was a real gut punch but in the most beautiful ways.

Filled with humour and holiday spirit, this book is a perfect way to start off your holiday reading. I really hope to get to revisit Eve and Joe sometime as I really enjoyed this go round.

Eve comes home early from a conference the day before Christmas Eve to an unwelcome surprise accompanying her boyfriend in the shower. After a small fit of rage and inevitable break-up, she turns to mr & mrs Caspars at the jewelry shop. Where her unexpected tale distracts the couple, resulting into a yellow and blue bag being switched.
Luckily Joe; another part-time employee of the Caspars; arrives to help right this wrong. Together, Eve & Joe start their quest to hand-deliver 5 gold rings in central London for Christmas weddings or proposals in time to save Christmas Day.

I really enjoyed this Christmas rom-com which was packed full with adventure and laughs.
From the beginning it was crystal clear that Joe is head over heels for Eve. She seems to be the only one not aware of this or him. So it turns into a bit of a slow burn along the duo’s 3 day journey filled with fun banter, crazy circumstances and heartwarming moments.

The 5 rings each make for a different Christmas moment with various shows of love. Some of them felt quiet ridiculous scenarios that could easily fit a Holiday movie.
Kristen’s writing style felt natural to me and made this an easy & enjoyable read. Plus I had fun finding all the Christmas ‘easter eggs’ in the various character names :D

If you enjoy a dual POV romance with fun banter and cozy Christmas vibes, then this is the book for you these Christmas holidays.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and of course the author for gifting me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book really had me rolling with laughter and was exactly what I needed. Adorable characters and a really cute, festive book which kept a smile on my face the whole way through. Everything I would expect from a chick lit.

What a joyous delight of a book! It’s the second book I’ve read by Kristen Bailey and I’ve loved how both of them have left me feeling happy and uplifted. This one also made me cry… but mostly it had me beaming.
Do yourself a favour and devour this celebration of love and kindness. I hope it will lift your spirits and leave you feeling as festive as a partridge in a pear tree. Joe and Eve are adorable, the friends-to-lovers premise is brilliant, and frankly I’ll now be putting all the rest of this author’s books at the top of my Christmas list.

Unfortunately a dnf. This type of storytelling is not my favorite. Lots of telling, long paragraphs of description, etc.

More of a me problem.

On Christmas Eve, Eve rushes home early from a trip, excited to surprise her boyfriend of three years. But, it’s Eve who ends up surprised when she discovers his spineless-ass having a merry time with another woman in the shower. To take her mind off things, she goes to her job at the jewellery store which is where we meet the wonderful Joe, her dreamboat coworker and secret admirer. A twist of Christmas luck, thanks to a delivery mix-up sends Eve and Joe on a road trip to deliver five gold rings to their rightful owners.

I truly LOVED every moment of this book and hope and pray for a Christmas movie adaptation. What a PERFECT setup! One particular scene involving a turkey 🦃 (iykyk) made me laugh out loud.

What I didn’t connect with was the chemistry between Eve and Joe at times. There was no denying Joe was head over heels for this woman, but I didn’t buy Eve catching the feels in the blink of an eye. JOE IS NOT A REBOUND TYPE OF GUY, HE WIFEY!!

Although the cute displays of love during the ring deliveries were heartwarming, it stressed me the FK out how they kept getting dragged into everybody’s business. Like girl you have a deadline!

My favourite characters have to be the meddling jewellers, Mrs and Mr Casper who played matchmakers and I wish there were more scenes with them.

Overall this book was super enjoyable to read and got me into the Christmas spirit already. I definitely will dive into more of Kristen Bailey’s books.

Thank you NetGalley, Storm Publishing and Kristen Bailey for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The novel begins on Christmas Eve Eve, and our main character Eve returns home early from a trip to surprise her boyfriend of three years, Chris. However, it’s Eve who is surprised (and shocked and appalled) when she finds Chris in the shower with another woman enjoying a very merry Christmas indeed… Long story short, Eve begins our tale single, heartbroken and in need of a festive distraction.

Enter Joe, Eve’s colleague at the jewellery store, part-time buff butler, and an all around nice guys who just happens to have a secret crush! Due to a delivery mix up, Eve and Joe are asked to deliver five gold rings to their intended recipients and a heartwarming Christmassy road trip begins…

Things I loved about this book:

❤️ Joe was the sweetest, most supportive friend to Eve as she went through such an awful time, and was a perfect gentleman

🎄 The structure of the novel allowed us to glimpse multiple romantic Christmas happenings - proposals, weddings, etc. - and meet a wonderfully broad range of characters

😂 I laughed out loud SO many times at the ludicrous, hilarious situations our leading couple found themselves in

🪽Joe’s awesome flatmate Gabriel

🎅🏻 Non-stop Christmas vibes

📝 The cuteeeee scene with the letter

🦃 The stolen turkey

🥰 The epilogue

What I wasn’t so sure about was Eve and Joe as a couple - while we could see that Joe’s feelings for Eve were genuine and deep-rooted, the rawness of Eve’s heartbreak meant I was really rooting for her to take time to heal before jumping headlong into the next relationship and I struggled to feel a spark between our leads… but it was SO MUCH FUN seeing them save five Christmases together!

I’m giving this one three and a half stars (rounded down) and would absolutely suggest reading if you want to laugh out loud at a very merry mission and lots of fun festive frolicks! Release date: 30 Oct.

As ever, grateful to NetGalley and the publisher Storm Books for the opportunity to read an ARC of this festive tale!

When I read Sex Ed this summer, I laughed my ass off. It quickly became one of my favorite books of the summer. I was so excited to see that another book from this author was available on NetGalley. After reading Five Gold Rings, Kristen Bailey is quickly becoming one of my favorite romance authors.
I was laughing from beginning to end. The events that occurred while delivering 5 gold rings are both romantic and hilarious. I loved the chemistry between Joe and Eve and enjoyed the different POVs. Although this book had less spice than Sex Ed, I truly enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for holiday romantic comedy.

Five Gold Rings comes out on October 30th!

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this lovely funny (at times) book

5 gold rings is an enchanting story about 5 rings that need to be delivered before christmas, after a mix up at the shop

but its also about eve....

eve has been away and is now rushing back to start her christmas celebrations with her boyfriend so arrives home earlier than expected and finds....

It should definitely not look like a naked woman on her knees noshing off your boyfriend of three years in the shower.

and that sets the tone for the rest of the book...

eve finds herself back at the jewellers where she works part time and falls apart in front of her employers when the mix up with the rings happen

and so begins the tale of the delivery of 5 gold rings with a christmas elf and eve and on the road to discover that christmas may have a little miracle for them both

ohh man this story was funny poignant and lively one of the best christmas themed books i have read this year

looking forward to reading more from this author

This novel is just delicious! Read it for the opening chapter, but it gets better from there. The premise is super cute - deliver five gold rings over two days at Christmas. Kristen Bailey has a flare for a visual joke and there are so many here, from gorgeous Joe in his elf outfit, to being Olaf at a family dinner, Christmas sweaters, on the boat, in the Mini, under the mistletoe - they are all hilarious. This is a rom com in its purest form.

It's super clean, but there's a good reason for that. Eve has just (just!) broken up with her partner of three years. Joe has been pining for her for two of them. It's not the time for a bonk, but the slow burn is masterful as Eve begins to see what has been in front of her all along. It's tender, and swoony, and funny. It's not all light, there are truths here and we slowly realise that Joe is so much more than the helpful shop boy, his complexity is unresolved, which adds to the depth. Eve is a hot (drunken) messy mess, but its justified and there's development for her too over the days she and Joe spend together. HEA.

Can you tell, I loved this Christmassy rom com. Five stars!

Thank you so much NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC. Such a treat ;)

Such a fun Christmas escapade! Eve and Joe spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day running around attempting to deliver the correct jewelry to couples around London. Reading the situations these two get in (as they fall in love) had me chuckling out loud. A sweet Christmas read!

This is a cute, cosy Christmas story with Joe and Eve rushing all over London in the days leading up to Christmas, including Christmas Day, to deliver five gold rings to where they need to be.

Eve and Joe both work part time for a small family run jewellers and there was a mistake with the rings being delivered. To fix the area, someone needs to go and collect the rings then deliver them. Eve has volunteered to do it to keep herself occupied after finding her boyfriend of 3yrs "being noshed off" in the shower by a woman he works with. While Joe was roped in by the owners of the jewellery store, as they know that he's been in love with Eve for years.

Right now though, Eve just needs a friend to support her while she works through her emotions, and Joe is there for her, holding her up through her tears, drunken outbursts, and her agreeing to be involved in everybody's wedding or proposal as they drop rings off to people.

The best part though is when they turn up at Eve's ex-boyfriend's family's house on Christmas Day while they are in the middle of their Christmas celebration and force the ex to tell them what's actually happened and why Eve isn't going to be there anymore. After causing a big scene, and Joe practically snogging someone's gran, he runs out, steals their turkey and they take off together. I was laughing out loud during that whole scene and it was definitely my favourite part of the book!

Really sweet story, Joe is a proper golden retriever type and he's an easy character to fall in love with and it only takes Eve a couple of days to realise the type of man Joe is. Their Christmas delivery mission is a good way for them both to get to know each other better and realise their compatibility, though there are (of course) a couple of misunderstandings along the way.

Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Laughter for the holiday romantics to keep you giggle snorting and outright laughing as you read! Make sure you have tissues handy though as you'll need a few of those as well. Getting dumped sucks, getting dumped at Christmas is even worse, but never fear as this dumping will actually have you tearing, laughing and cheering! Seriously, trust me this is a fun romance book that you need to be reading and don't wait for the holidays, start enjoying it now! The antics that someone who cares about you will go through to cheer you up and help you feel better are innumerable, but this book drives the point home that you need to find that person who will do the same for you! On a serious note, the book really does have all the feels! You'll tilt your head to the side and say awww a few times, be steamed with indignant anger or frustration at other times and still others you will giggle like a child! This book is the cheerful book that you need in your life!

Perfect read for the run up to Christmas (or after) 💍💍💍💍💍

Eve loves Christmas, after returning home early from a work trip and finding her boyfriend Chris in their shower with another woman, this one has taken a devastating turn for the worse…. On going into see Mr and Mrs Casper for a sympathetic ear, unbeknown to Eve, they’ve called in Joe to help.

After an important delivery goes astray, Joe and Eve aim to sort it, will they manage to save the day and deliver all the rings in time… 🤔

From the first page until the end, an easy read filled with ups and downs of finding love, with humour in the mix. Great characters, Mr and Mrs Casper particularly amusing near the start. A definite should read, I look forward to reading Kristen’s next novel, they don’t disappoint.

Eve discovers that her long term boyfriend Chris has been cheating on her just before Christmas. Devastated, she goes into the jewellery shop where she works where she knows the owners will care for her. the Caspars call Eve’s colleague Joe, and the two end up chasing around London delivering the mixed up five gold rings. And maybe fall in love?

Kristen Bailey has created a charming and witty Christmas story, where she manages to weave SO many Christmas-themed names into one story! Eve, Chris, Noel, Nick, Emmanuel, Faith, Joseph - wow 😆 This story feels like it should be turned into a 2000’s holiday romcom in the days when you saw High Grant in every movie going! The quests to hand out the rings felt exhausting but thankfully our main characters are a youthful pair, who use the opportunity to get to know their best and worst selves and still find themselves feeling all the feelings. It’s the perfect, funny holiday themed read ❤️
