Eve was not the only one ugly crying throughout their harrowing adventure! It’s hard sometimes to jump into a book by an author you don’t know, especially when it’s about Christmas and you’re reading it in early October. Well, Christmas came early this year!

“Five Gold Rings” is sweet with lots of touching moments. There may be much better examples, but it reminded me of “Adventures in Babysitting, where what should have been a straightforward trip, turns into an epic adventure at every turn with you loving the characters more and more. OK, loving Joe more and more. But since he’s head over heels for Eve…

There were several things that seemed a bit absurd, but the biggest one kind of explained itself at the end. If you want a sweet love adventure that’s heavy on the Christmas (you’ll be in a Christmas mood before the end anyway) and you’re not afraid to think over the top, this British rom com is definitely for you.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for providing an unbiased review.

Maybe the right guy was right under your nose the whole time…. After finding her boyfriend cheating on her, a heartbroken Eve ends up at the jewelry store she works at part time. The owners, a cute older couple, send her and another co worker on a Christmas mission: to deliver 5 rings. Everyone knew Joe had a crush on Eve… everyone but Eve. Each ring delivery is different and reminds Eve that good love does exist. As she spends more and more time with Joe, she starts to see him in a new light. Gah. I love a great friends to more book. I love a story where the man secretly crushed for years and the moment when the girl figures it out. I love holiday books (because I love Christmas!). This was a really easy to read book that will leave you laughing. The story wrapped up and the epilogue put a bow on the story. But dang it, I wasn’t ready for Joe and Eve’s story to end! Can I request a sequel!? While I love a good smut book, I also liked the innocence of this book. Two people discovering their feelings for each other without me having to shield the pages from prying eyes. If you love a good holiday romance, add this book to your TBR list!

This books was a cute and quick Christmas read! Starting with what I liked about this story - the plot was a great concept, taking place over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we follow Joe and Eve as they deliver five rings to clients of the jewelry shop they both work at and chaos ensues. Add in the fact that Joe has been in love with Eve for two years and Eve just found out her long time boyfriend has been cheating on her the emotions are running high. I think that this book would be a fantastic Christmas movie - the visuals of the antics that happen with each ring delivering would be great on screen and two hours with these characters would be great fun!

That being said there was something’s about this book that didn’t really land with me. The first thing is that Eve is drunk for almost the entire story which makes it hard for me to fully buy her feelings for Joe. I have no problem when the idea that someone will realize they have feelings for someone after seeing them in a new light and under new circumstances but I do think she’d have to be sober to really make me believe that it wasn’t just a drunk rebound.

I will say I thought the epilogue was super cute and this is a sweet Christmas book with a lot of colourful side characters!

Thanks to NetGalley, Storm Publishing and the author Kristen Bailey for providing me an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

First thought: Absolutely adorable must read Christmas Romance. This is one of those stories that takes you along for the journey, captivates you, brings you laughter, warm fuzzies, gives you hope and leaves smiling.

Eve was born for Christmas time,her twin brother name in Noel, but this year will change it all. She came home early from a trip to find Chris, her boyfriend of 3yrs cheating on her. She is distraught, he is not remorseful at all and in her rage she opens his present to her and finds a ring! The ass was going to propose while cheating on her. At least he bought it at the jewelry shop she works at even though she hated it. What else is there left to do then go on a rager drink everything in site and throw everything he owns out the window including the ring! Her Christmas has been ruined.

Joe is a man of many talents he currently works part time at the local jewelry shop where he has fallen in love with a girl over the last 2 years. The problem is she has a boyfriend and he would never be that guy. But this Christmas he’s in luck as the owners of the jewelry shop just called and told him Eve broke up with her boyfriend and they need him to come rescue her from herself. Maybe this is the chance he’s been waiting for.

The jewelry shop owners conspire and send Eve and Joe off on a mission around London the day before Christmas Eve. Their mission is to deliver 5 wedding rings to different couples through out the city. It will give Joe a chance to get close to Eve and Eve a chance to move on. But this mission is anything but simple and Joe and Eve find themselves in whirlwind of Christmas drama, romance, adventure, mistletoe, Santa’s, flash mobs, stolen turkeys, jumping out of ice sculptures and so much more as they try to deliver rings and bring the love of Christmas to 5 couples. All while trying to understand what they feel for each other now that the cheater Chris is out of the picture.

Tropes you’ll find:

* Friends to Lovers
* Forced Proximity
* He Fell First
* Cinnamon Roll MMC
* Dual POV
* Closed Door
* Christmas / Holiday

This was so cute! I occasionally stay away from holiday-romance books just because they can be really corny and predictable, but this was actually a little breather from that aspect. My one problem was sometimes the chemistry lacked between Eve and Joe just because it felt like Eve was more than half the time drunk....so please more sober Eve.

What a fun holiday romance book! Two people search for love while others find love. Swoon. This book was a quick and light hearted read. The banter and whit was so fun to read.

This was a light enjoyable read. Not overly profound but a fun holiday story.

Following Joe and Eve as they deliver rings on Christmas Eve.

Eve has just found her boyfriend cheating and needs a distraction, what better way than helping her employer after a mixup.

Definitely recommend for something fun and lighthearted!

Thank you to the publishing team and NetGalley for an ARC of Five Rings by Kristen Bailey.

This was the perfect Christmas hallmark movie in book form. We meet Eve (whose mom was obsessed with Christmas) who finds her boyfriend of 3 years cheating on her in their home and also finds the ring he was going to propose to her with. She goes to her part time job- working at a jewelry store for the kindest older couple- where they console her and see it as an opportunity to have their other part time employee (Joe) come to comfort her too, since they know that Joe has a huge crush on Eve. Due to a mix up Eve and Joe are on a mission to deliver 5 rings on Christmas Eve to the owners and wind up getting to be a part of 5 different love stories. Will Eve forgive her ex and get back with him? Will Joe tell Eve how he really feels? (The scene with Eve, Joe, and Chris had me truly laughing out loud as I read it)

Overall such a cute holiday book- also it’s set in London so some fun British traditions/words sprinkled throughout it!

This book will be releasing October 30, 2023 and would be perfect for a holiday book club!

This book was such a cute cozy Christmas romance. Love the jewelry store element and all the cute Christmas touches throughout the whole book. Would defiantly recommend if looking for something lighthearted and full of Christmas vibes.

This book was the literal definition of a hallmark romcom. Like, I’ve heard a lot of books described that way, but I think one of the key points of a hallmark movie is the lack of any significant side plots. In the very best way, this did not have any significant, heavy, side plots. It was a fun, fast moving story with quirky characters, cute inside jokes, and a just shy of nauseating theme of way more Christmas jokes than is necessary.
All in all, read this when you want a hallmark movie but want to read it instead.

When law student Eve rushes home from a conference, she envisions the perfect Christmas - starting with surprise morning fun times with her boyfriend. She is devastated to find that he's already partaking in those fun times, with another woman. After throwing them both out Eve finds an engagement ring that Chris purchased at the jewelry store she works at part-time. In a drunken mess, and wanting answers as how to her life has fallen apart so quickly Eve makes her way to said jewelry store. The kindly (and meddling) owners call her coworker Joe in for help and enlist the unlike pair in resolving an accidental misdelivery as well as 5 last-minute Christmas Eve deliveries of engagement and wedding rings. Can a few days of witnessing and saving Christmas romances, drunken purging of the ex, a racy old French lady, and the kidnapping of a fully cooked Christmas turkey bring these two turtle doves together for a Christmas miracle HEA? (Of course - because it's a Holiday Romance). If you like laugh-out-loud, unrequited love, forced proximity, and holiday romances, that are filled with moments of true friendship and kindness then this is a book you really should read this holiday season.

This book is a solid 3.75/5 stars (rounded to 4). It just missed the 4th star because while each delivery of a ring was memorable and different in its own unique way 6 deliveries, two other attended holiday parties etc was a bit much for me. Maybe it's because I powered through this book in just over a day - I think if I'd read this closer to Christmas (and not just before Halloween) and had given each scenario more time to breathe it would have resonated more with me. But it's definitely a book I'd recommend for someone who wants a fun and clean holiday romance read that brings with it lots of feels.

Eve is having the worst holiday ever. She decided to surprise her boyfriend, getting home early, only to find in him the shower with another woman. She is feeling lost and her boss at the jewelry store tasks her and a coworker with returning five rings to their rightful owners during Christmas. Little does she know, her coworker, Joe, has had a crush on her since they started working together. Every delivery leads to a ridiculous scenario where Eve forgets a bit of her heartbreak and starts to see Joe as the great guy he is.

This book is holiday movie perfection. There are so many portions of this book I could see playing out in a movie. This book made me laugh out loud multiple times and smile in other parts. This is a great rom-com, but had a mix of seriousness and adventure that made it hard to put down. This is a rebound relationship, and I think it happens very fast, as there is very little time between the break-up and having feelings for another man. I found that a little unbelievable, as she had been in a relationship with her ex for three years. It is, however, a very slow burn book, taking Eve and Joe almost the entire novel to admit their feelings for each other.

I did feel like sometimes the chemistry between the two wasn't working out, but I think that could be because Eve spends the majority of the novel drunk or hungover. I really liked sober Eve so much better than drunk Eve. Some of Eve's emotions were so real and raw though that I thought the author did do a good job of working that in.

If you want a good laugh, with lots of antics, this is the perfect holiday book for you! Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.

The author of this book was kind enough to approve my request for this book and I can't thank her enough because I enjoyed this book a lot! A lot of times (IRL), we question love. The timing of it, the beauty of it and sometimes question the universe why love sucks in the same was as love is the most beautiful feeling one can ever feel.

This book is a beautiful story of heartbreak, coping past it and seeing what or who really loves us most. Truly, actions speak louder than words. All we have to do is to really open our eyes - and hearts to be able to see and feel what love-love really is.

If you’re a fan of Hallmark Christmas Movies THIS IS FOR YOU! The perfect holiday read to have you smack in your feels & laughing hysterically! I hadn’t read any of Kristen’s other books before this, but the way she ties in SO MANY holiday puns & traditions with laughter is 10/10 in my book. The stolen Turkey had me cracking up laughing.

While a general rom com storyline it had its own mix of adventure, plot line twists you didn’t necessarily see coming & plenty you could. More than that I enjoyed the depth of the story with the sweet jewelry Store Owners who I felt were my own grand parents. I loved the delivery journey these colleges to friends to romantic partners go on. I like the genuine connection the story gives them, while also allowing them both to grow in their blossoming relationship but also as individuals.

I’m looking forward to digging in yo some of her other books! This was a pleasant way to kick off the holiday season early!

A cute, heartwarming story set at Christmastime with a bit of a “Love, Actually” vibe. I thought the pacing was slow at the beginning and I didn’t find myself excited to read it, so it took me longer than usual for a book of its length. The ending was sweet and I flew through the last 50 pages, even finding myself tearing up a bit. But not enough to overcome the slow start. I’m sure this book will appeal to a wide audience, it just didn’t resonate with me.

This has been one of the better romance stories I have read lately. Eve is a great leading female character. She definitely showed strength even when dealing with all of her emotions from her boyfriend being unfaithful to her. Nothing really about her was off putting to a reader in the way she handled situations regarding her feelings. Which I was super happy about. Joe is our other lead and he was the best support to Eve while being head over heels in love with her. He brought humor and compassion to her situation that helped move the story along. The whole story took place over a few days time with these two getting to see the different love stories each of the couples they were delivering rings to have with their partners. I loved this about the story. I thought it was super clever that the author had our lead characters become involved and witness all forms of love stories during their adventure together. I think without this the story would have been flat and not as entertaining. While these two get a HEA I would have loved to have had more time for the love Eve started to feel for Joe come across more authentic then it did. I wish it was more of she always thought he was cute not a oh I never saw how attractive he was type of way she had in the story. However, this story was really good and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a quick holiday romance!

Five Gold Rings by Kristen Bailey is a witty, fun, romantic story set in London. The main characters are interesting & a bit naive about how amazing they'd be in relationship together. The side character siblings of our main characters are hilarious in the written dialog & I would not be disappointed if Kristen Bailey did a spin off of one of the siblings in their own love story. Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC of this story about finding love at Christmas time after being cheated on by a scumbag.

For a Christmas Day, or like me a very wet afternoon or really any day you need an easy read to bring you cheer, this is pure reading escapism. Had me laughing the whole time, with tears of laughter and joy. (It wasn’t until I finished the book I realised I had also read another Kirsten Bailey book ‘Sex Ed’, which is equally entertaining.) Thank you to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
