This was a new take on a Christmas romance for me but I loved it all the same an interesting storyline with adorable main characters and it was so enjoyable seeing how their love story would unfold
Christmas is a time for joy, lights, tinsel, celebrations and general excess. But when Eve walks in on her boyfriend in a VERY compromising position with his coworker, all joy goes out the window (along with his cell phone and any other of his valuables she can find). Even worse, this self-absorbed guy has already bought her an engagement ring (although not a great one) from the jeweler where she works. Eden ends up at work where the owners, Mr and Mrs Casper, decide to give Eve and another employee Joe a mission for Christmas as a distraction. Their mission is to retrieve and deliver five rings for Christmas weddings and proposals. Unbeknownst to Eve and the Caspers, Joe is totally in love with Eve.
What follows next is a trip around the UK delivering all the rings. While doing this, they each become part of these romantic gestures. All the while, Joe is still dressed as a sexy elf (his other job is a little spicy) and Eve is consoling herself with a bit too much alcohol. Can Eve let go of her past horrible relationship and see a future with Joe?
If you like Christmas romances, this one is just fun. I laughed out loud and became enraged at the ex and just thoroughly enjoyed this one. I enjoyed the Narrator and appreciated the accent. She brought the story to life. I gave this one a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

This was such a cute holiday read. I loved the relationship of the MCs and their banter. It was a perfect book for a cozy winter night.
This was a fun and easy read - Eve and Joe were sympathetic characters and the story has some fun small plot twists as it worked its way to a HEA. There were a few moments that felt forced/contrived, but overall certainly still a cute Christmas read. Rounding 3.75 to 4 stars
I couldn't put Five Gold Rings down. It was sweet, romantic, lovable, and full of Christmas cheer. I cried tears of sadness, tears of joy, and laughed hysterically. Truly one of the best holiday books I've ever read. Kristen Bailey has made such a delightful read that I couldn't put it down! What a way to start 2024 in books.
Another very cute Holiday Read.. I just love these types of books. Five Gold Rings by Kristen Bailey, is the story about Eve and how Christmas is not going to be the same this year. How could it be? She came home early and caught her boyfriend (Chris) cheating on her. They had been together for 3 years and things seemed to be going right. She had one of the most realistic break downs I ever did read about. It was brutally honest and kind of funny. She rages against all the things in their apartment. She throws things out the windows, breaks things, takes a part things and finds what looks like an engagement ring, wrapped under the tree, for her. How could he do this to her? Why was he going to propose and then do this? As she leaves the house and goes to the jewelry store where she works. She goes there to get comfort from Mr and Mrs Caspar. They are trying to get the last things together for Christmas and call on Joe, another co worker to distract Eve. Joe and Eve are to get the last of the rings delivered before Christmas Day. It starts out rocky but soon they find a good groove. The two become a great team. And as each ring is delivered and the crazy circumstances occur.. things just seem to work out. This is an engaging, funny story. A story of. Christmas wish and of wishes you think you want and the wishes you get. The banter between the characters is so fun. Can these two save Christmas for the others? Can they save Christmas for themselves? Can these next few days turn out ok? This was such a good read, right up my alley. I want to thank Netgalley and the author for my copy for an honest review. It was an absolute pleasure to read and review this book. If a Romantic Holiday is your thing, this is the story for you:
I enjoyed the plot of this book, it was perfectly set around Christmas, loved the way they had a task at hand with delivering the jewelry. It was a great addition hearing the stories of all the jewelry deliveries. A storyline of the book I did not enjoy was how much she was drinking & the fact that he didn't drink. It felt like she was drunk the entire time. Overall i enjoyed this holiday read and would recommend to someone
Five Gold Stars for Five Gold Rings!
This book had me smiling and laughing to myself from beginning to end. I was so invested in Eve and Joe I wanted to be friends with them so bad, I LOVE, LOVE. This was the perfect Christmas romance.
Thank yo NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC!
This was one of the best romcoms I've read in awhile. With genuine funny bits, lovable characters and a romance to root for, it's everything I wanted.
I loved how this story wasn't exactly far-fetched but something that could actually happen in real life, giving you all the more reason to actually want the characters to end up together.
Literally everyone in this book was lovable (except for Chris) and fun to read about. I had such a good time with this book!
If you're looking for a clean romcom to read, I definitely recommend this one!
Thanks to #Netgalley for the ARC
A cute and funny lighthearted romance for Christmas. This is the kinda book you pick up when you just want to laugh and enjoy the story without having to think too far ahead for the plot.
“‘The shorts are very…’ ‘Tight? Can you see my…’ ‘Candy cane?’ he says, laughing.” 🤣
“There is something about coming back to places you know that can really reset your soul, that make you feel safe and happy.”
What does Christmas look like to you? A tree rammed with homemade decorations, a mantelpiece weighed down with cards, Mum telling Dad not to put the chocolate wrappers back in the tin, a festive film on television...
It should definitely not look like a naked woman on her knees noshing off your boyfriend of three years in the shower.
It’s Christmas Eve eve, and the holidays are not off to a good start for, er, Eve.
Warning: do not read this in a quiet area where sudden bursts of loud laughter would be disturbing. This book is legit laugh out loud funny!
Oh my I just adored this! It was the most precious Christmas rom com with both funny and extremely endearing characters. I rarely laugh out loud and this book had me rolling. I just loved it and I did not want it to end.
Thank you to Netgalley, Storm Publishing, and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a super sweet holiday romance. The plot is a bit far-fetched but within Hallmark movie territory. I loved the build-up and the various characters you meet along the way.
The book Five Gold Rings was an enjoyable read. I would recommend any book written by Kirsten Bailey. Happy Reading!

A great read for the Christmas holiday.
Eve finds her boyfriend cheating on her before Christmas. As she heads to work after she takes on the task of delivering five rings to others who will be celebrating proposals and weddings over the holiday. But not to be left alone, her coworker will be joining her for the adventure.
Kristen Bailey has done it again! She is one of my favourite authors when it comes to romance, humour and those unforgettable one liners. Five Gold Rings is a feel good festive read/listen and perfect for the week that’s in it and the run up to Christmas. I switched between audio and ebook for this one and loved it in both formats. The narrators were fab and really brought the humour and characters to life but that’s not to say that the ebook doesn’t deliver in the same way. It brought many a smile to my face. Bailey really knows how to write such quirky, likeable characters and I loved them all except for Chris 🙄. It’s cleverly written with a lot of little sub-plots that add to Eve and Joe’s story. This is definitely one to read or listen to to put you in the Christmas spirit. It has to be said that the statements “Go pull his cracker” and “Do you mind if I have a bite of your whopper?” will never sound the same again 🤪…
Thanks to Kristen Bailey and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read and review #FiveGoldRings
Thank you Storm Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC. This book is live, released on October 30, 2023.
This was definitely a fun read with dual POVs, so much Christmas Eve and Christmas weddings and proposals, and a friends to lovers romance! I wasn’t a big fan of Eve, FMC, mainly because I felt like she was drunk majority of the book… but I mean if you catch your man cheating on you, do what you need to do. But it came to the point where it was effecting sweet innocent Joe, MMC. I thought Joe was the sweetest MMC and did everything right for Eve, and even helped her through a difficult time. Overall, I just liked this book but I really enjoyed Eve and Joe’s ring fiasco adventure! I felt like that kept me reeled into the story to figure out what their next stop or if Joe was going to have to participate in another wedding.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Storm publishing for this advance copy of Five Rings by Kristen Bailey. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate - this one is available now for you to pick up!
After really enjoying Bailey’s “Sex Ed” earlier this year, I was so excited to get a copy of her Christmas release, with such a unique premise - we have our protagonists Eve and Joe on a quest to help reunite jewelry with their original owners before the holiday ends. Eve is fresh off a breakup after catching her man cheating and Joe’s been pining after Eve forever, so naturally this one is set up for these two to find themselves in each others’ arms. This one fell a little flat for me - we got SO many details about all of the couples that Eve and Joe were delivering to, that I actually considered putting it down at around 30% because I was so bored waiting for the romance to occur. This one is definitely a slow burn - it takes awhile to get going. I did enjoy Bailey’s writing style in this one, but it wasn’t as easy of a read as my first work I read due to the other subplots.
Thank you again to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
25 Books of Christmas- Day 24
Book Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
With Christmas just days away, Eve leaves a work trip early in hopes of surprising her boyfriend, Chris. But when she discovers Chris has been having an affair with a coworker, she is the one left stunned. Deciding to throw herself into her second job, she spends the rest of her Christmas holiday delivering engagement rings. Will her time delivering rings be enough to restore her faith in love, or will it ruin Christmas for good?
The Twelve Days of Christmas, serves as the inspiration for Kristen Bailey’s latest book. Bailey wrote her book specifically around day five- five golden rings. Her innovate take on the popular song makes this one of the most unique Christmas books on the market.
Not only was I impressed by Bailey’s premise, but also her writing style. She wrote a dual POV story. However, unlike other dual POVs each character is responsible for telling half of each chapter (traditionally, POVs are told via alternating chapters). I loved getting to see things through both Eve and Joe’s eyes. It was only through their combined accounts that readers received a comprehensive understanding of their story.
It is for these reasons, and many more that I recommend this book!!!
Special thanks to Netgalley, Kristen Bailey, and Storm Publishing for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
Okayyy this book has no business being as adorable as it is 😍
Five Gold Rings starts with Eve catching her boyfriend in the shower with another woman, right before Christmas. She heads to the jewelry store where she works, and takes on the task of delivering five rings for various proposals and weddings that are occurring over the holidays .... Oh, and her dreamy coworker Joe will be joining her and he loves her. Of course.
This book was absolutely lovely. It was sweet and endearing, but also kind of hilarious (Eve is very drunk most of the book and on an understandable emotional rollercoaster, providing tons of genuine comedic relief) ... As they navigate through these deliveries, encountering acts of love in all sorts of beautiful ways, Eve is able to rediscover the idea of true love.
I'd definitely recommend this one for those who love a bit of heartbreak and a whole lot of feels. Oh, and Christmas. You must like Christmas because there's a lot of that 🎄❤️

I have read a few really cute ones and I am adding Five Gold Rings to the list. It is the story of co-workers at a jewelry store who have to spend Christmas Eve swapping out ring deliveries that went to the wrong place. This book cracked me up. Snorting and laughing out loud while reading cracking me up. Eve and Joe had the best chemistry ever and they were both so lovable. I loved their banter, I loved the absurd situations they found themselves in as they delivered the rings, I loved how heartfelt and charming this book was from the first page to the end. Just pure festive fun. If you want a cozy book for this weekend, this is it.
