Such a fun Christmas read filled with laughs and love. If you're looking for a Christmas book that gives you the same feelings as watching the best romcoms, give Five Gold Rings a read. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, for an ARC of this book, in exchange for honest feedback.
I would like to start by saying that I loved the story as a whole, I laughed a few times, and really liked the idea behind the title.
After a very unfortunate situation with her current boyfriend, Eve really needed someone like Joe to get her through Christmas. The holiday vibes were strong I this book, and while I did really enjoy the book, I was not feeling the romance vibes from Joe and Eve. I get that Joe had feelings for Eve long before the timeline of the book, but it was hard to believe that Eve “fell” for Joe, because there were no real interactions from her perspective that made it believable… From Joe’s perspective of course, because he was I love with Eve before this timeline.
I am going to give this book 4 stars, because I liked the characters and the story a lot. Less 1 star for the sort of unbelievable love story.
I recommend this read to anyone looking for a great holiday read!
I liked Eve and Joe's story. Eve catches her boyfriend in the act of cheating. She end up going to her work to just have something to do. The owners of the jewelry store called their other employee Joe to come be with Eve. They knew he was in love with her. There was a order mix up that Eve and Joe volunteered to go fix. They would have to then deliver the five rings to the right customers.
I am not a fan of instant love. Eve goes from catching her boyfriend cheating and being devastated to falling in love with Joe in less than a week. It makes their chemistry unbelievable for me. The premise of the story is solid I just think it could have been done differently to make their love more believable.
Five Gold Ring was a cute holiday read and I would read more by Kristen Bailey.
Thank you Storm Publishing and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of Five Gold Rings.
Think ‘Love Actually’, ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ or ‘Notting Hill’, which sum up this fantastic Christmas book from the amazing Kristen Bailey. It’s hilarious, romantic, a bit mad and just that little bit sad. Don’t worry though, you won’t be crying, well not tears of sadness anyway. I laughed out loud a lot at this book.
Joe and Eve need to rectify a ring delivery which went to the wrong place. Five rings, five destinations and just a couple of days in which to ensure happy outcomes.
Our two protagonists tell their story in alternating chapters, and I promise you’ll be rooting for this couple until the very end, which comes all too quickly. I could have carried on reading about their adventures throughout London for a lot longer.
This would be amazing as a movie, and I honestly hope that someone picks this up for the big screen with some big-time actors. It would be good to see this out in time for Christmas 2024! I wonder if Richard Curtis is busy at the moment!
Thank you to NetGalley and Kristen Bailey for the opportunity to read and review Five Gold Rings.
I am a fan of Kristen Bailey and her books always bring a smile to my face and this one definitely did that. It was total escapism and made me laugh out loud many times. I loved the characters, the Caspar’s are hilarious! An easy read, full of humour and festive romance. Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. I have given it 4 stars.
When Eve returns early from a trip, she gets a very unexpected Christmas surprise. She finds her long-term, live-in, boyfriend receiving his own Christmas present.. in the shower... with a naked woman. Suddenly Eve's world is falling apart around her so she flees to the one place she feels safe, work. One meddling boss and a big delivery mixup later, Eve finds herself on a Christmas mission with her favourite coworker, Joe. What Eve doesn't know is that Joe has been in love with her for years. Joe and Eve spend the next few days delivering 5 rings to various customers and meeting wisened Santas along the way.
I loved this book! Joe and Eve have great chemistry and I was rooting (and yelling) at them as they went back and forth through the book. The epic adventure they go on with all the side characters of the various customers getting the deliveries made the book such a fun read!
Thanks so much to Netgalley, Storm Publishing and the author for a digital ARC. All opinions are my own!
I knew I was going to love this book from a few pages in. Kristen has created such wonderful characters in Eve and Joe whose story evolves slowly and falls into place so perfectly. It has laugh out loud moments, love stories that will make you cry (happy tears!) and supporting characters that make me want to be their friends. This books contains everything from fueding bridesmaids, to drunk Santa's, to poultry theft. I would absolutely recommend it if you are looking for a fun festive read! 🎄Thank you to Netgalley and Kristen Bailey for an advance copy of this book, sorry it took me so long to get to it 💖
Rating: 4.5/5 🌟
NOTE: I would also like to mention that if you have a tough relationship with alcohol this may not be the book for you. There are lots of themes of drinking throughout 3/4 of the book. Stay safe friends 💖
I'm a huge fan of Kristen Bailey, and this story hits almost all the marks for a Christmas comedy. It's laugh out loud funny with quirky characters - Eve is chaos in motion - and the plot is just brilliant. Joe is the perfect romantic hero - maybe a little too perfect - and while the two seem to have chemistry, Eve is drunk on so many of their deliveries that I wonder if Joe IS more of a rebound guy, and he doesn't deserve it.
Still, their ring deliveries are good fun, the supporting characters a delight, and in the end, you'll be rooting for Joe (although I still don't know if Eve deserves him.) A fun holiday read.
I adore this authors stories, so I was thrilled she wanted me on the blog tour for this one. I couldn't say no, plus I'm in Christmas reading mode. This is one to add to your Christmas reading lists this year. Festive. Cute. Adorable. Romantic. Funny. Race against time. Revenge. Perfect. I devoured 50% of this in one day. The story is told through two main characters, Eve and Joe, who are co-workers. After Eve walks into her partner cheating on her, Joe is there to pick her up and make her feel better, but they both have a mission to complete for work first... To deliver five rings in time for Christmas. Every delivery is a cute little story of its own. The ending was perfect. Adorable. Heartwarming. Uplifting. The perfect Christmas. Would highly recommend. A well-deserved five stars from me. FIVE GOLLLLLDDDDENN RINGSSSS.
While the Christmas vibes we IMPECCABLY on point in this book, I just found myself.... bored. I didn't feel like the relationship between Eve and Joe was believable. I know people have rebound relationships, and I know they can ultimately work out and that was the whole point.
But rebound relationships only really work when the one who was just in the relationship was mentally out of it a looooooong time before they were physically out of it. You can't just go from zero to a hundred (or a hundred to zero depending on how you look at it) in one moment. It doesn't work like that.
Considering Eve is also drunk 90% of the time, I'm wondering if she really even likes Joe, or if he's just convenient for her and she's still definitely not in the headspace to be moving on.
Overall, while the vibes were on point, the rest was not. The partridge has been shot right outta that pear tree.

What a fun festive romance read.
The beginning was maddening, and you really feel for Eve, but that just made the end result even more satisfying. Yes it’s predictable, but that’s kind of what you want from this type of read.
Both Eve and Joe were such sweet, loveable main characters. Perfect protagonists for a cheesy Christmas ROM-com and perfect for each other. I loved that we got both of their perspectives.
The ring delivery antics were so chaotic and such a joy. I laughed out loud several times! Was such a great light storyline that allows you to fall in love with the characters as they fall for each other.
A well written, moving, witty and tooth-achingly sweet romance. A great read for the winter season to get you in the holiday mood!
Eve comes home early to find her boyfriend of three years cheating on her. As a distraction and favor for her bosses, she agrees to make some last minute holiday deliveries with a co-worker and embarks upon a very unexpected road trip. ❤️💍💚
This one surprised me! It was laugh out loud funny and surprisingly sweet, as each ring delivery allowed you to peek in on different couples in various stages of love. The story was chaotic and over the top at times, but in a way that still worked for me. I loved our MMC, Joe, and can honestly see this as a really fun movie akin to Four Christmases.
My thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for a complimentary advance copy of this eBook, out now.
I loved everything about this book!
It was funny, emotional & a very cute festive read! I love the authors books :)
This was my favorite holiday read this year. I loved the plot and chemistry between the main characters. I laughed and cried along with them throughout and read it very quickly.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy to honestly review.
The right book to jump off into the Christmas spirit!!! It was by far and awesome feel good, festive book with just the right amount of spice!! I wish I could do a reread honestly!! Maybe next Christmas!
Kristen Bailey's books are always filled with humour and a little bit of naughtiness in just the right balance, and that always makes for an enjoyable time reading.
I loved the dynamic between Eve and Joe and the adventures they had while delivering the rings were fantastic!
A lovely rom-com which I devoured and couldn't wait to turn each page.
This book was soooo good. It’s become one of my favorite holiday reads. It was so sweet and swoony and charming. It had me laughing and cringing and what a ride. 👏🏻 definitely reading more from this author.
4 star read. I had a few laugh out loud moments. I loved everything about this book. It was such a fun cute read. The ending was the best
