I loved every minute of this enemies to lovers story! The characters were great, the banter was entertaining, and the ending was perfect. Declan and Olivia are one of my favorite couples.
Pippa Grant book lovers- stop here because this Fun, fabulous title from Leslie North is a read-alike. Itโs maybe the best ever from North! A nanny fired repeatedly for doing what is best for kids is hired for an international babying job in Ireland. Sexy Irish man, cute six-year-old, and a red-haired charmer make this a five star read. Itโs light-hearted and just what you need after a stressful week.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read/review this book. I absolutely loved this romance book it kept making me laugh it was so cute and funny. I enjoyed reading how their love story unfolds especially how the two main character develop and learn with each other as the story unfolds. I especially loved how detailed the authors made each and every character it made the story that much better.
Nanny/billionaire boss and grumpy/sunshine. Honestly how could you not like this.
Very enjoyable, if predictable. Nothing absolutely crazy that would make me want to reread, but I definitely enjoyed this while working and kept my attention just enough that I wanted to finish.

Olivia and Declan's first meet on an airplane didn't go well... it must be fate that they meet again when Declan needs to hire an emergency nanny for his niece. Olivia is between nanny jobs and on her last leg with the company for fortunately meets all the very specific criteria Declan requests. She must try and hold her tongue to keep her job and navigate the world's grumpiest boss. Olivia's only real connection is with an anonymous person who follows her blog. They trade both advice and children's book recommendations. Can Olivia and Declan navigate their messy family backgrounds, differing opinions and smoking chemistry?
This book was so much more nuanced than I thought going into it. Leslie North really loves a nanny plotline but this one seemed more real than some of the others. Declan and Olivia both had a lot to work through. It brought up some realistic issues that I appreciated like navigating moving to a new town and finding friends as an adult, moving on from tragedy. It had it's funny romcom moments as well. I loved Declan's mom and seeing her relationship with Catie. I also appreciate that although Catie was on page, she didn't take over the story with "cutesy" child antics.
You can't go wrong with books set in a small town in Ireland! I look forward to Leslie's books and can't wait to see what she writes next.
Thank you to Leslie North, Relay Publishing, and NetGalley for this eARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

Hard not to like how much grumpy Irish CEO Declan loves his family and puts them first. Olivia certainly didn't make a great impression on her soon-to-be boss but through a serious of mishaps they find themselves thrown together...again. A spicy novel, Olivia and Declan are both great characters, well written by Leslie add in a cute niece Catie and you've got a fantastic read!
If you like a trope packed book, this one might be for you. A grumpy sunshine/ nanny boss/ billionaire romance.
Irish tech billionaire Declan is headed to Minnesota to pick up his niece while his sister goes to rehab. He has a chance run in on the plane w American nanny Olivia,
Olivia becomes his nieceโs nanny and goes to stay with them at his home in Ireland. Declan and Olivia must confront and face their own past traumas if they have any hope of making their own relationship work.
Overall the story was fine if slightly boring.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC copy of this book.
Sweet!
A fun, humorous and emotional story. Declan and Olivia are a perfect match and Catie is adorable!
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
Nanny Olivia always puts the children first resulting in her getting fired from jobs. Now she is in Ireland as a nanny for a billionaire. They clash from the first but at the same time they are attracted to each other. This was a fast easy read with mostly likable characters. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
This was an quick cheesy read that including some tropes that I kinda enjoy reading.
The tropes in this books according to me are following:
Grumpy x Sunshine
Billionaire x employee
Single uncle x nanny
Will they won't they vibe
I enjoyed this book since it was such an easy read and I was kinda shocked that it wasn't more smut in it.
The lack of smut was nothing I missed really since I thought that might have ruined the story.
The characters was easy to like and I really liked how childfriendly nanny Olivia is.
This was my first time reading something by Leslie North and it won't be the last. Now I am hoping to read a new book where Olivia and Declan is side characters and we get to know more about Sinead or Molly or also Maries story.
Billionaire, enemies to lovers, Ireland = great start to a cocktail
But, it's always the execution and finish that makes you realize the concept is better than the full makeup.
What didn't sing for me was this story went kind of preachy and the resolution limped to the finish. There's a lot of potential that could've happened to paint us the ideal heroine and book boyfriend that we'd have a hard time forgetting. Characters were ok, maybe even good enough but neither the characters or their chemistry lingered with me like I wish they would.
Where do I find a man like Declan Byrne?!
After fate brings them together on a flight, total opposites Declan and Olivia team up--her as nanny to his adorable niece Katie. While they start out on rocky footing, it quickly becomes apparent that they are each holding back and not acting on the feelings that have been developing between the two.
Leslie North completely hooked me from page one with this story and I found myself looking for any spare second in the day where I could pick up my kindle and dive back into the story.

"She smelled like lavender, sunscreen, and the sea. A crazy part of me wanted to press my face into the curve of her neck and inhale."
I want more. I absolutely loved Declan and Olivia's story, and I was invested from beginning to end. I do think midway there are too many will they won't they aruguments, but the dual pov definitely helped give understandings as to how the main characters think and feel during them.
I hope Leslie North has plans to write about Sinead and Seamus because I would read their story in a heartbeat, especially if it meant getting cameos from Declan and Olivia and their future.
Leslie North invites readers to a delightful romantic journey in "The Bossy One," a story that is equal parts heartwarming and humorous. This contemporary romance novel introduces us to an unlikely pair, featuring a grumpy Irish billionaire and a spirited Minnesota nanny, and their charmingly tumultuous journey towards love.
From the moment the spirited Minnesota girl who becomes the nanny to Declan Byrne's adorable niece, Catie, the stage is set for a clash of personalities. Declan, with his gruff demeanor and aversion to small talk, appears to be the exact opposite of the talkative and bubbly nanny. Their initial encounters are laced with tension and humor, as the chemistry between them sparks even amidst their differences.
The book has the ability to blend humor and romance seamlessly. North infuses the story with witty banter and laugh-out-loud moments that keep the reader thoroughly entertained. The humorous clash between the characters creates a delightful tension that adds depth.
As the story unfolds, we witness the gradual transformation of Declan from a seemingly grumpy and unapproachable figure to a complex character with a kind heart. North peels back the layers of his personality, revealing the vulnerabilities and charm beneath the tough exterior. The development of their relationship is organic and believable, making it easy for readers to become emotionally invested in their journey.
The setting of the story, with its Irish backdrop and Declan's suave Irish brogue, adds an extra layer of charm. North captures the essence of Ireland, creating a vivid and picturesque backdrop for the unfolding romance. The allure of Declan's accent and the cultural nuances provide a unique and captivating atmosphere.
The book also explores the idea of breaking rules, specifically the cardinal rule of maintaining a professional distance between a nanny and the family. The internal struggle of the nanny as she grapples with her growing attraction to Declan adds depth to the story, making it more than just a simple romance.
The characters are endearing, the humor is infectious, and the chemistry between the protagonists is palpable. It's a tale that reminds us that sometimes, love has a way of shattering even the most well-intentioned rules.
Olivia meets Declan on a flight, she gets on his nerves from the first minute. As fate has it it turns out heโs her new employer.
Olivia is a Nanny set to look after Irish billionaire Declanโs niece who is staying with him while her mother is in rehab in the USA. Thereโs lots of conflict between them and both have secrets in the background. He is quite controlling and it explains why his sister Sinead fled to America.
Itโs quite a slow story and very back and forth but enjoyable. As the couple get closer and Olivia stands up to Declan she seems to soften him and he looks at his past with different eyes.
I liked the other characters involved in the story, they were all well written and I would love a book about Sinead and Seamus.
There are sometimes you just really wanna shake some sense into someone. Every time I thought Declan had his head on straight heโd prove me wrong.
There were several different conflicts that could make or break our couple and Iโm happy with how everything was resolved.
Iโd love to see more books following some of our side characters in the future.
*Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for a copy in return for an honest review*
After a disastrous first meeting on a plane, Olivia learns that her position with the agency she nannies for depends on her new short-term gig looking after Declanโs niece. The child is adorable and it means being paid to live in Ireland but it also means spending time around a rich, grumpy, overly controlling but still very hot man.
This was more of a slow burn than I expected but I appreciated the time for their feelings to grow. I really think this was my favorite of the books Iโve read by tHe author. I could have done with fewer complications in their story but I was very curious about how it would all play out. Wonderful side characters including a six year old who felt authentic and never overpowered the story added warmth while Olivia and Declan were embroiled in the push and pull of their attraction.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Great fun here! Between billionaire Declan and nanny Olivia who really knows her stuff, a romance develops. There's pining and chemistry, but lots of secrets, and Declan has a whole lot of baggage.
Lots of shenanigans as things move quickly. There's plots and subplots, side characters and family and so much going on, but the heart of it is the real connection between Olivia and Declan. A fun read and a lovely change with the setting in Ireland and around Dublin. Recommended!
Thank you very much NetGallery and the publisher for the ARC.
This isnโt exactly an enemies-to-lovers book as it is a collection of situations bringing about a romance. The male lead was very relatable and I favored him over the female. Even when he wasnโt trying to do something great for others he happened to do it. The supporting characters were good too- Molly was very entertaining! Couldnโt have asked for a better ending for all involved in the story.
The love that Declan has for his family is very evident. That should have spoken volumes about the length that he's willing to go through for the people that he loves. Yet, Olivia is surprised. I felt like she put too many expectations on him. He was going to have a hard time living up to her standards. The best part of this book was the Ireland aspect of it.
