Thanks must first go to Netgalley, the publishers and C.L. Taylor for the proof copy of Every Move You Make.

Having hear Cally discuss this book at Capital Crime and as an avid fan, I was very excited to get this ARC, and couldn’t think of a better book to kick the new year off with.

This book is full of twists, turns and a complete 360. It’s definitely not the ending I expected, and shade is cast on the majority of the characters throughout the novel. The way it’s written thrusts you into the mindset of a stalking victim, and I felt completely immersed. Reading the author note at the end I was totally shocked.

Would highly recommend this book and will likely read it again.

This was a very unique book so I enjoyed reading about a topic that has not been covered much in a psychological thriller format. It was a bit of a slow-burn as it got repeatitive towards the middle of the book (but I guess that relates to the subject matter). The twist at the end was a bit unbelievable but still entertaining.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A book about stalking. Five people who are being stalked set up an online support group. After one of the members is killed by their stalker, the group try to help each other so that it doesn't happen to them. A slow burning thriller that keeps you hooked from the start. The characters are so well written that you can feel their terror. A really exciting read.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for an advanced copy.

I chose this book as was convinced I’d read other titles by the author, but in fact I haven’t….but I certainly will be now.
I really loved the writing style and had a few late nights having to convince myself to put the kindle down and get some sleep.
The storyline was interesting and different from the majority of psychological thrillers I have read as involved a few people with similar stories.
The twists were great, some became predictable but then proven to not quite be what was expected
I will be adding more of her books to my reading pile!
Thanks for the opportunity to review the book

A slow burn thriller about four people who meet on an online forum for victims of stalking.

Unfortunately, this put the slow in slow burn for the first 60% of the story. It was just dialogue between four characters and their four stalkers. Their fears of what might happen was not enough to keep me interested. I kept waiting for someone to pop up from behind the bushes but no one did.

Thankfully, the last portion was fast paced and I'm glad I pushed through the slower parts. The author's note put the whole book into perspective but for me it was forgettable.

I have previously read a lot of C.L Taylors books and always enjoyed them, but this book just didn't seem to grab me. I didn't overly feel connected to the complex number of characters and that resulted in it being a lengthy and slow read for me. Overall not my most favourite book and I probably wouldn't recommend to anyone, but I will continue to give this authors future books a read.

The storyline here involved a stalking situation. I did feel the suspense that I hoped for, and would expect when reading a thriller, but I couldn't really bring myself to like any of the characters or care about them. I may try another book by this author though, and I think this book would be a good choice for book club discussions.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a free copy to review.

I was gripped from page 1 and don’t think I caught my breath until the end.
This is a dark, addictive and emotional read. The plot centres around a stalking support group that has been set up and is completely compelling.
It’s another fabulous book by C.L Taylor and one that I’ll definitely be recommending.

I have to start by saying that I have read other booksa by thsivery talented author and I think that this one tops my list as being amazing. The story line is gripping and the way that information is gradually provided to the reader makes this a book that I just could not put down. I had never thought much about the issues involved with stalkiing and this made me think more about this as a subject. The plot was excellent, it was very fast paced and the writing style was excellent.
The final not by the author added so much poigance at the end of the story.

Every Move You Make by C L Taylor

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve read several of C L Taylor’s books and really enjoyed each one of them so far! So when the opportunity came up to read her new book early on NetGalley I was so quick to request it!

Typically for Taylor’s books the pace is fast and so are the chapters. You explore the story unfolding from several different characters views and it really adds a lot to the plot. There are times where some of the characters say something in an way that makes you question their motives and it helps to provide a book that is hard to put down!

The story, following a group of people who are currently being stalked, is really unique and I loved the way it shaped up. There were plenty of unexpected turns in this book and most of them left me shocked (in a good way).

If you like edge of your seat thriller full of unfolding drama, this is brilliant book for you!

This book was really difficult to get into. A group of people who are victims of stalking support and check on eachother throughout their lives to make sure they are safe. Started off super strong and I was invested. As time went on became predictable and hard to get through. A couple of the characters such as River were super hard to connect with and just did not enjoy their character though perhaps that was on purpose and I wasn’t supposed to like them? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

"Every Move You Make" by C.L. Taylor is an intense and gripping thriller that delves into the chilling reality of stalking. The story follows a group of four individuals—Alex, Lucy, River, and Bridget—who, bound by the shared experience of being stalked, come together for the funeral of their friend Natalie. When they receive a wreath at the funeral predicting one of their deaths in ten days, the group decides to take matters into their own hands.

The novel skillfully navigates the psychological toll of stalking, portraying the victims' panic and the debilitating impact on their lives. The writing is so compelling that the line between fiction and reality blurs, emphasizing the authenticity of the narrative. The characters are well-developed, and Taylor adeptly captures their distinct personalities.

The author's decision to tackle such a taboo subject is commendable, and she handles it with sensitivity and insight. The inclusion of a note about the author's personal experience with stalking adds depth and authenticity to the narrative.

"Every Move You Make" is a thought-provoking and suspenseful thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats, addressing a serious issue with both skill and empathy.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Five people are being stalked and make their own WhatsApp group to support and help each other, as they know the authorities will not help. They keep in touch with each other regularly, until one member, Natalie, goes silent. And the news comes out that Natalie has been killed by her stalker. The rest of the group go to her funeral, and a wreath arrives that says one of the group will die in ten days time. The group decides to fight fire with fire.

This was a really tense read, and sadly, very real on many levels. This was a taboo subject for this author to tackle, but she did it exactly right. She managed to convey the panic and how debilitating stalking can be to its victims. The writing was so brilliant that I had to keep reminding myself it’s a work of fiction. The characters were well written, and the author nailed their personalities perfectly. There is a note at the end of the book regarding the authors personal experience with stalking, which was very eye opening and a catalyst for writing this story. This was a great read, and really helped me understand stalking a bit more, and how it’s not treated as serious as it should be.

Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. I love all of C.L Taylor’s books and this one was no different! Five people are being stalked it’s everyone’s worst nightmare as I read through the book I imagined what I would do in this situation. The publication date is the 28th March 2024.

I had sympathy for all the characters especially Lucy. This book had lots of turns and turns which made me want to read and it was fast paced it was so good I read it in a day! The note at the end from the author made me think a lot and had me thinking about it long after I read it.

Overall, I’d highly recommend this book it has a strong emotive subject. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars!

Having really enjoyed CL Taylor's books in the past I was very pleased to recieve an ARC of her latest. It's a good read and started of strongly but somehow it told hold my attention and I found my attention wandering. I didn't really click with any of the characters apart from Natalie (short lived).. Somehow the book didn't ring true and became less credible towards to the end. Having read the acknowledgements and knowing the author's own personal experience I'm surprised
I will read more from this author as she is usually very reliable

Five people are being stalked. By ex partners, and by people they don't know.
Then one is killed by her stalker.
The four remaining members are planning to trap the people making their lives a living hell. But they have been warned. One of them has ten days to live.

A tense and unputdownable novel! I turned pages like a mad woman, hoping that at least one stalker got their just desserts!
I would never have predicted the twist!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Another fabulous book by this author. Stalkers, a fascinating theme and not an area I have previously thought a lot about, but this book opened up my eyes up to how terrible this may be. Lucy, Alex, River and Bridget are all facing this dilemma, day in, day out.

One of the group’s best friends Nat was killed by a stalker recently and the group meet up at her funeral. Whilst there, a wreath is delivered that states a terrifying warning, in ten days time one of this group will be next. Then the terror begins. As the book progresses we are provided with a lot of insight into this group both individually and also in the relationships they have between each other. We come to know more about them, their personality traits and behaviours.

I can’t imagine what it must be like to be continuously fearful and frightened each time you walk out or in the door. This is such an intense read, it’s like the world is ceasing to exist as you are taken along this wild ride. I was totally engrossed in this story, it all felt so real and my emotions were being thrown around creating a fantastic few hours of enjoyment.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions expressed are my own.

Quite a chilling story, and made all the more creepy when you read the Author’s Note at the completion of the book. We have a small club, all members of a chat support group, all being hassled by stalkers. One of the group is killed, and at Nat’s funeral, another threat is received but the group are not sure who is the target.

A cleverly constructed plot which not only keeps you guessing who the more dangerous stalker is, but also has you guessing who is the target of the threatening note. Plenty of tension as the narrative twists and turns.

As with all Cally Taylor's books I have read, another excellent read.
