Not only is the cover so stunning but this story is just as amazing! I truly enjoyed the small town essence in this book it was cozy and everything that I needed. This story was just so well written and it held my attention and that is something I love in a book. Overall I recommend!
Falling for Alaska by Belle Calhoun is a sweet romance that is the first book in the Moose Falls, Alaska series. Xavier, Caleb, and Landon Stone come back to Moose Falls, Alaska after being gone for 20 years. Their Grandma Hattie invites them back to learn how to run her business and possibly take over as she is dying. This story introduces the family and we follow Xavier and True Everette as they navigate a romantic relationship.
True and Xavier are two people who have had to grow up fast and are not strangers to hardship. I enjoyed watching their love story, watching them change, and appreciated the satisfying ending. The author did a great job of weaving the theme of reconciliation through the story. I was intrigued that Grandma Hattie was facilitating healing and forgiveness in her family. I look forward to learning more about the family in the next books in the series and more time in Moose Falls, Alaska.
I enjoyed the banter, romance and redemptive theme of Falling for Alaska by Belle Calhoun. I highly recommend this sweet romance.
I was given a copy by the publisher and not required to write a positive review.
Belle Calhoune sets the beautiful stage of Moose Falls, Alaska with her latest, Falling for Alaska. With all the charm and beauty of this small town romance, she pens a captivating novel of love, forgiveness and second chances that will leave you feeling good.
Former pro-football player Xavier Stone returns to his hometown reluctantly, tasked with helping his grandmother's cider company and gastro pub. Yet, he finds himself facing not only the challenges of running the family business but also confronting his past and strained relationships with his family. Enter True Everett, the determined and spirited owner of the restaurant managed by Xavier's grandmother. Sparks fly between Xavier and True, but their initial animosity threatens to derail any chance of romance.
As the book progresses with this enemies to lovers theme, they tread through their differences and confront their own insecurities, leading us towards a beautiful journey filled with heartwarming moments and swoon-worthy romance hea..
There are so many things to love about this book but most striking is the imagery throughout the book that places the reader right in this beautiful town. The setting that is created adds to the charm and character of not only the book but is giving you such a comforting feeling throughout.
Beyond the beautiful setting are the wonderful characters. There is such depth and richness to them, the obstacles that have weighed down their lives brought them together but their vulnerability and insecurities make them relatable. Xavier's struggle to reconcile with his past dealing with a father who abandoned him and a his ex that left him at the worst of his life made it hard for him to trust. True, who after losing her parents sacrificed her life to raise her brother, is doing everything to protect what she has built for them with fear that she will lose everything.
These two independent struggles give you something to root for. Not just the journey for them finding their destiny but the second chance to find the joy and happiness that they seemed to have been robbed from.
In addition to them, we are blessed with the wonderful relationship between Xavier and his brothers. The fun banter and their loving relationship adds to the charm. His grandmother creates some sassy moments that will make you smile. And the cute moments between Tru and her brother will make you laugh and your heart smile for the love she has for him.
Overall, this is another wonderful book to add to the small town romance pile that you plan to read if you haven’t already. This has all the charm of a great storyline, wonderful characters that will love, and a gorgeous setting. Not sure about the details about the second book other than it looks like it will be out in the fall.
This book left a lot to be desired for me. It felt predictable and anti climatic. I love a cheesy romance, but this felt almost too cheesy. Almost a little cringy. I did like that the main characters, True and Xavier, worked through their own issues together and Calhoune did that by them thinking it through. Over all this book is not for me, but that is okay!
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a heartwarming, enjoyable book. I enjoyed the dual narrative. And I loved the setting!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Xavier and True's story took me awhile to get into and I can't pinpoint exactly why. This is a sweet small town romance, kissing only, with some very memorable side characters. Hattie definitely stole the story for me - she is Xavier's terminally ill grandmother who is not letting her diagnosis slow her down or change her attitude.
Definitely one to check out if you are looking for a small town Alaska romance!
Falling for Alaska by Belle Calhoune is the first book in the new contemporary romance Moose Falls, Alaska series. For this opener of the Moose Falls series we have an enemies to lovers romance that is told from both points of view of the main couple.
Xavier Stone and his two younger brothers have returned to Moose Falls, Alaska at the request of their grandmother with her health failing her to help run her family business. Xavier never expected a clause to be thrown at he and his brothers that they would also have to work with their estranged father and it took all of his energy to not pack up and go at that news.
True Everett did the exact opposite of the Stone brothers and chose to stay in Moose Falls and make a life for herself there. Over the years True has taken the reigns of Northern Exposure, a restaurant/tavern that is a part of the Stone family businesses. True isn’t excited to see the boys return home but vows to not let the handsome Xavier Stone get in the way of her dreams of owning Northern Exposure herself.
Having read several books by author Belle Calhoune I was excited to dive right into this new series and see what adventure awaited on the pages. Thankfully this one lived up to my expectations with likable characters in a charming small town setting which I enjoy. I can sometimes be a bit iffy with enemies to lovers with making one or other of the couple be a bit too overdone on the enemy side but the conflict here made just the right amount of tension to let me root for an HEA between the pair. Will look forward to see what comes next in the series in the future.

Such a cute wholesome book. Throughout it, I was thinking I would rate it 3 stars but once I got closer to being done, realized this book deserved 4 stars. It was cute and I loved Xavier, he was such a kind, wholesome man. Truly all the characters were wholesome in their own way. I would recommend this read, it was an easy, fast read.
True Everett has been the manager of the gastro pub Northern Exposure in Moose Falls and hoping to own it one day. When the owner, Hattie Stone, is diagnosed with terminal cancer she brings her three grandsons back to Alaska. If they spend one year in Alaska, they inherit her hard cider company and the pub. True is resentful of their arrival and having to deal with new owners, but her feelings toward the oldest brother Xavier slowly start to change.
This was a sweet clean romance with a great setting. I love how sweet True was in helping Xavier make new memories and fall in love with Alaska. I'm looking forward to reading about the other brothers, especially Landon.
Thanks to Forever through Netgalley for the advance copy of this book. The opinions in this review are my own and given voluntarily.
I enjoyed reading Falling for Alaska by Belle Calhone. You will fall in love with all the characters. Happy Reading! I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and the publisher. This is my honest and personal review.
This book surprised me! I really did enjoy it! Romance story with no spice but compelled me to keep reading. I think this will appeal to many readers that I truly hope give this book a chance!! Thank you, sincerely, for letting me read this on net galley!
I'd read this for the scenery descriptions alone! I love small town Alaska books! What a majestic state! Both True and Xavier have been burned in love before. The difference is that their personalities are so that they handled things a little differently. Xavier is an ex-NFL football player and therefore, on the media stage so was front and center when his breakup occurred and has had to handle things in the spotlight. He doesn't think he'll fall in love again, but he has a bigger than life personality and is very extroverted. True, on the other hand, was ghosted by her ex and still feels the loss deep down. She is a popular townsperson in her small town but the hurt is still there and she holds it close to the vest. She also doesn't think she'll fall in love again! She's more introverted. Xavier comes to town with his brothers at the request of his dying grandmother to learn her business and get to know his absentee father again which doesn't make him happy. Sparks fly when he meets True. I loved how True made it her mission to help him fall in love with Alaska! She was hoping that he'd stay, rather than move back to Arizona. Her brother, Jaylen, was very cute! A fun adventure for them both!
What a charming story! It was a delight from start to finish. The banter, fun and chemistry made this such an amazing read. I loved watching True and Xavier develop real feelings for each other beyond the spark. I fell in love with not only the main characters but the secondary ones as well. Grandma Hattie was precious. Alaska is always an amazing setting and the names of the town, restaurant and tavern were adorable. The writing style of this book was perfect, I really enjoyed reading it!
Thanks to Forever for my advanced copy via Netgalley. This is a cute contemporary romance set in Alaska! A down-on-his-luck former football player returns to Alaska after leaving as a child to help run his grandmother's cidery and restaurants where he meets the restaurant manager.
This book has all you want in a small-town romance and I'm hoping the other two brothers also get books too!
This is a great book for people that love books in Alaska, with former athletes, with single moms, and matchmakers.
I loved how True was raising her younger brother and I loved her work ethic and drive and her connection to her town.
I liked Xavier but he was a little too in his own head for my tastes. Much of the book he annoyed me. But he did do some really sweet things for True and her brother.
Overall it was a sweet, wholesome read.
I received an advanced copy through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Loved this book! Quickly starts with a easy to read and imagine cast of characters! The setting was perfect and described very vividly. Wish this could continue as a series. Recommend!
This is a new to me author and this book did not disappoint at all. I really loved that this was set in Alaska and the author did an good job making you feel like you were in the story. I like True there was not messing with her that girl was going to protect who she loves and cares about at all cost. I really liked her sidekick Bonnie because every person needs someone in their corner cheering them on. I liked Xavier he protected his brothers at all cost, he loved his little family that his mom created and would do whatever needed to be done to protect them. His relationship with his grandmother and Red was trying at times but he always did what he felt was right, he had the biggest heart and would take everyone at face value. Overall these two just felt very relatable and a fun read.
Belle Calhoune is one of my favorite authors writing sweet, small-town romance and Alaska is one of my favorite romance settings. Put the two together and I was more than ready to be swept away by this first book in a new series featuring the three Stone brothers.
Falling for Alaska is a fun, charming read with emotional undertones. Xavier and True have great banter, wonderful chemistry, and a lot of fun. I love how Calhoune grows their relationship over the course of the book in addition to their own individual journeys. True's relationship with her younger brother (I adored him) and Xavier's complicated family ties all play significant roles in the evolution of these characters. I'm eager to discover more about the backstory of the Stone family as well as what happens going forward with Xavier's brothers, their grandmother, and their parents. There are issues still to be addressed. The Alaska setting is an important character as well, immersing me in her majestic, though sometimes dangerous, beauty.
If you're looking for a sweet romance with plenty of chemistry, banter, meddling family, humor, and emotion, I recommend giving Falling for Alaska by Belle Calhoune a try.

This is the first book in a series about Moose falls, alaska. I couldn't put the book down read it in two afternoons. looking forward to more stories about the town.
The Stone brothers are back in Moose Falls. Having left over 20 years ago, they had never been back until now. They were called back by their ailing grandmother to carry out her last wishes in potentially taking over her successful Cider business. As the oldest brother, Xavier, has more pressure on him to make sure everything goes well. He also has his past weighing on him. His lost NFL career to an injury and then lost his fiancee to his best friend. Being back in Moose Falls also means having to reconnect with their father. Meanwhile, True, who has been running the tavern associated with Cider business, starts to see that her potential dreams of taking over are being crushed with the brothers arrivals. Having been through a devastating past, True believes the tavern will be what will keep her going and thinking Xavier is the one who could take this away is the last think she wants. However, she must put everything aside to work with him in order to have a chance at getting the tavern she has come to love.
While the setting might be Alaska, this was the perfect read for my cruise last week. It was a nice quick romance with a nice cast of characters. You also couldn’t help but love True as the strong female lead that she was. With the 3 brothers and this one being labeled as Moose Falls #1, I am hoping there are at least 2 more to cover the other brothers and their future romances. I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for them in the future.
