This was the first book I have read by Mercedes Ron. I didn't pay attention that this was the second book in a series but I figured my way through. The author skillfully crafts a narrative that keeps readers on the edge of their seats, gives you romance, coming-of-age, and self-discovery. This book leaves you with questions and wanting more so I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I would definitely recommend this book!
Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
After seeing the movie on Amazon Prime, I quickly went and read Mercedes Ron first book in the series, 'My Fault' and I was completely hooked. I loved the relationship between Nick and Noah and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen with them next. In this second installment, things were yet another roller coaster of emotion and I was absolutely here for the ride.
I love how Mercedes Ron is able to have the main focus of the story be on Nick and Noah while also perfectly intertwining other plot points and also bringing in the suspense of both Nick's and Noah's pasts and how they continue to hold on to them and don't want to let them go. I had to force myself not to read this in one sitting and to pace myself so that I could really absorb everything that was going on. And also, so that I could extend it out as long as possible because I knew that it was going to leave me desperate for the next book.
I don't want to spoil anything for anyone so I will say this. I, more than once, yelled out loud in frustration with Noah. Sometimes, Nick made me want to throw the book across the room, but luckily I would never abuse a book in such a way and also was desperate to keep reading it. Their parents continue to frustrate me and honestly, I guess I just don't get what the big deal is at the end of the day or why it's so controversial. Yeah, it's kind of taboo for step siblings to be in a relationship. Obviously. But they didn't grow up together and when they first met, they weren't exactly young, innocent, and naïve. So I just don't see how it's that big of a deal. I have asked myself a few times if Noah's mother and Nick's father are even going to stay together in the long term.
Anyway, I do recommend this book, series, and this author. I can't wait for the third book to be released and I am pretty excited to see both of the movies as well. I did receive a free ARC copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. These thoughts, words, and opinions are mine.
2,5/5 ★
Well i have mixed feelings for this one, it's like a guilty pleasure! I enjoyed some parts but some others gave me the ick. I wish Nick's toxic and abusive behaviour was addressed, even just one sentence!
The party bathroom scene and the therapy scenes were hard to read and made me furious!
This is not an easy read and it can be quite triggering!
I'm gonna read this in Spanish just in case it makes more sense!
I love love love this book. Noah and Nick are so toxic but so fun to read. They’re off and on, full of love and hate. I couldn’t put the first book down or this one. My fault promised a drama filled sequel and Your Fault did not disappoint. I’ll be reading more from this author!
Done and done!
I enjoyed a lot of this and couldn’t stop reading it. If you like the After series this one is for you!
Without giving too much away because this is the second in the series
❤️ the storyline was great
❤️ the secrets I don’t see coming
❤️ Noah working on her grief and feelings of guilt
💔 didn’t love how controlling Nick was in this book
💔 the toxic way they hurt each other
I am excited for the third in the series!
I have read lots of negative reviews for this book, but personally I enjoyed it!
I enjoyed the character and relationship development throughout and although at times I find Noah and Nicks relationship frustrating.. I believe that you are supposed to.
Enemies to lovers is by far my favourite trope and I love a bit of spice. I would read more of this series for sure!
I loved this second book in the trilogy. I actually watched the film first and then decided I wanted to read the books - it is fast-paced and was an enjoyable read.
This is the second book of the Culpable trilogy, and I have to say that I am very impressed on how this book unfolded. I got to see a different side of Nicholas. He was more vulnerable in this book which in my opinion is a great thing. This book was very hard to put down. From the romance and secrets. It skillfully unfolded. I’m excited to see what the next book will be like. I have so many questions and assumptions! As someone that enjoyed the first book, I am very eager to read the next one!
3.5 stars
Your Fault takes us to next turbulent phase of Noah and Nick's explosive relationship. They are forbidden. They are volatile. They feel a love that's all consuming, larger than life and sometimes, too hard. This new adult romance takes us through the treacherous alleys of young love. Full of dangerous twists, secrets and heartbreak.
This is book two of a trilogy with book one ending with happy for now. But this one comes with a massive hangover. Noah and Nick has fallen in love though they are stepsiblings. Noah is just graduating from school and has a whole life ahead while Nick has already started his career. The long distance. The sea of changes. the constant interference of outside world. Noah's trauma. Nick's past. Can they really stay together?
The main conflict of this book is Noah and Nick's separate stand on how to proceed in life. Nick is ready to take the next step. To live with Noah while she goes to school, to be there with her at every moment, to finally be free of their parents' judgement. I will say he is behaving pretty mature and stable here. A far cry from the reckless playboy in first book. But Noah is somehow stuck. She has been through some life changing trauma and it has irrevocably changed her soul. She isn't ready to let anyone in that dark part of her soul. Not even Nick. That boy tried so hard. I love him for that. Nick was trying to help her at every step. But I felt Noah was very indecisive and torn and impulsive. She was giving me whiplash. At one point, she wants independence even from Nick but on next page, she becomes unnecessarily
jealous and enraged if Nick cannot give her time for real reasons. Sometimes, like Nick, I doubted if she even loves Nick. She is going back and forth. Making mistakes. Making bad assumptions. And finally she did something that probably has broken them forever. I love Nick so much. He is ready to crawl over glass and burn the world down for Noah. I wish Noah was willing to give her all too. I cannot wait to see how the destruction can be overcome..
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
I was excited to receive an ARC of this book, especially since I enjoyed the first in the series.
The prologue was a bit of an emotional spoiler, dampening my initial enthusiasm. At this point, I'm struggling to keep reading. I have read about half of the book now and the relationship of Nick and Noah is starting to get really toxic and they are depending on each other to much. Nick is lying. Noah badly needs therapy... I'm bored. I really wanted to like this and give it a great review but I have to be honest: I doubt I'll be picking this book back up anytime soon.
"Your Fault" by Mercedes Ron is a captivating addition to the Culpable trilogy, a fast-paced and emotionally charged novel that explores the complexities of a forbidden enemies-to-lovers romance. Noah and Nick's relationship, fiery and electric, is at the center of a tumultuous storm of love, trauma, and secrets. As they navigate the challenges of starting university, the age difference, and the haunting echoes of their inner demons, the narrative unfolds with intensity and passion.
Mercedes Ron skillfully captures the essence of a relationship marred by trauma, making it both compelling and heart-wrenching. The characters, Noah and Nick, are deeply flawed yet utterly captivating. The story delves into the intricacies of trust, communication, and healing, creating a poignant and emotionally resonant experience. "Your Fault" is a guilty pleasure, a rollercoaster of emotions that keeps you invested in the turbulent journey of its characters. I'm excited for the next installment in this gripping trilogy.
I loved book 1 and Nick and Noah are so freaking adorable. This book starts slow but it does pick up and i got hooked when I did not want to stop reading. This ending has me on the edge of my seat. Mercedes showed us readers the side of Nick and Noahs love that isn't beautiful. The side that brings you to your knees, the side that breaks you. I still love Nick and Noah so much. I can't wait to see what happens in book 3!
This one was just okay for me. I was looking forward to reading this book after reading the first one and seeing the movie, but I found the plot in this one repetitive, which made it hard for me to get into. I will read the next book, because I am invested, and want to know what happens, but I won’t be rushing to read it.
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the ARC!
This book was such a guilty pleasure. Noah and Nick, Nick and Noah. They are two ends of a candle or even a Roman candle burning towards an explosion boom. When you take two very tragically damaged people who need extensive counseling because of the trauma they've been through, there is no way they can have a healthy relationship.
Watching their relationship unfold throughout this book I kept wanting to take them both and say STOP! Get whole and then try to have a relationship.
I enjoyed this book. But it is a tragic love story about young love and adults and other characters around them behaving badly.
Poor Noah. Poor Nick.
Your Fault is book 2 in the Culpable trilogy.
Noah is safe and faces no threats from anyone but life still isn't easy as her mom and Nicholas' dad aren't happy with their relationship. They are also unable to confide in each other properly causing them to not trust each other with their secrets.
When I finished reading My Fault, I was looking for a book to read on NetGalley and came across the next book by luck! But I wasn't too happy with how this book went and the way both of them wouldn't trust each other and, in turn, hurt each other.
Below are some points that I didn't like or didn't make sense to me:
- Who names their pet by just a letter, it was just weird to read
- Jenna was Nicholas' friend first so I don't understand why Noah thought she'd be more loyal to her
- Jenna and Lion were horrible friends; they both blame Nicholas/Noah but they were just hypocrites
- In the first book, Noah kissed Nicholas to make her ex jealous and without knowing the whole truth, makes a horrible mistake in the end
- I felt there was a chunk of paragraph missing in Chapter 48, just before they start dancing because I didn't understand how they went from watching/sitting to dancing.
I have been waiting for this book to come out after the movie dropped this year. Although this is targeted as a YA book I definitely think it’s for an older demographic. I liked the first book better but I’m interested to see where they take this story next.
Thank you Netgalley, the Publisher and the author Mercedes Ron for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I read the book series by the author Mercedes Ron after watching the first movie that came out this past year in 2023. The movie and book adaptation are basically the same story. It isn't very different, which is a nice change. The books plotline is a step brother/ step sister romance and how they navigate through their lives of loving each other. The characters had undeniable chemistry from the start to the very end, along with having good developments to the story. I really admired this book almost as much as the movie adaptation. I personally rate this book 4 stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.
This book was great! I can't wait to read more from this author.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book in exchange of my honest review.
I'm going to rate this book 3 stars.
Noah was just as insufferable in so many other ways. So immature! Specially at the end. But what to expect from an 18 year old girl? So many times I wanted to punch them both on the face.
The story is also repetitive. It runs in cycle. Basically, they fight, they make up. They fight again, have more make up sex with lots of declaration of love throwing in. Lather, rinse, repeat.
But if there is something really good about this series is that even when you are not completely in love with everything you're reading, it is hard to put it down. It's so addictive.
Overall, I still enjoyed it. That ending?!! If I have not the other book ready I would be going bananas.
I liked the writing and the book was easy to read. I liked the tropes too. But I was a bit disappointed from the book. I think they are a bit toxic for each other. And I didn't like their behaviour sometimes. Overall the book was ok,just ot something I would like to reread.
Thank you Netgalley for giving me a free copy. I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review of this book!
Rating : ⭐⭐⭐️.5/5

Your Fault is the second book in the Culpables series. The continuation of Nick Leister and Noah Morgan's love story!
It was a hell of an emotional ride. Honestly, I was scared to read the book. I wasn't sure what to expect. I liked the writing style. It was easy to read. I love how the author went into the depths of the characters, bringing out their past traumas to get the better view of their minds.
Nick and Noah's chemistry peeked in chapter 29. Noah was so badass to get in the car with Nick. I really loved the whole sequence. Even though they were fighting, they clearly cared for each other. I loved the angst. I loved the push and pull of their relationship. Two angry lovebirds fighting to protect each other ~
Though sometimes they were so toxic. Nick was way too pcontrolling and Noah was doing mindless things. Her cheating on Nick, just by hearing some bimbo, not trusting him is the worst thing she could ever do. It really disappointed me a lot.
After reading the sneak peek of Lion-Jenna story, I NEED A BOOK ON THEM!!!!! Kick me—I don't care. I'm hungry for angst. That's when people understand the value of each other.
