What a fun book! Not only does it include the recipes, but with an intro to bartending tools and techniques, it is the ultimate how-to for making your favorite drinks like a pro. Paired with stunning photography and bright colors, this is a must-have for your collection. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early glimpse in exchange for my honest feedback.

What a fun little book this is. A throwback to the wonderful 80s, it has all of your old favourite and then some. The photography is stunning, the colours vivid and the drinks themselves oh-so-appealing.

You'll find the Harvey Wallbanger, Pink Lady, Hot Pants, Between the Sheets, White Russian, Vodkatini, Cosmopolitan, Negroni, and my absolute favourite, the classic Martini, dressed up in a variety of ways.

A great gift, this is a must for anyone who loves a bit of retro-inspired nostalgia and the tastiest cocktails.

This is a beautiful collection of classic drinks. With lovely images to accompany these classics and the recipes to recreate these, you can make your own Cosmopolitan, Moscow Mule, Long Island Iced Tea and more. It also has non-alcoholic drinks like Shirley Temples and floats. This would also make for a beautiful book to display to show off how those lovely drinks would look.

Thanks the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC
The festive cover and playful title of this book sum up its contents - fun takes on famous cocktails from the days of disco.
The author, an experienced bartender and mixologist presents a really good selection of recipes for classic drinks and some that will add sparkle to any party or dinner you want to make them for.
All the recipes are accompanied by some history on the origin of the drink (I love this kind of thing) and really, really gorgeous colour photos that made me want to make them all right away.
There are some recipes for 'pitcher' sized drinks, and lots of non-alcoholic variations as well.
If you want to discover some new (old) cocktails, you'll love this book.
Recommend for foodies, aspiring bartenders, cooks who love cocktails, brilliant book all-around!

This is a great book of cocktail recipes combining old favourites and new ideas which continue the fabulous tradition of cocktails with a modern twist. It's a thorough book which details the best techniques for mixing different cocktails along with the recipes themselves, and there is a short piece at the start of the recipe which gives the history behind the cocktail. The photos are gorgeous and make you want to whip yourself up something fancy to drink right this minute.

I wasn’t drinking in the 70’s, but a lot of these are familiar to me when I first started drinking. Easy to follow recipes and I’ve made a large portion of them. There are a few new gems. Unfortunately, even though we have a fairly well stocked bar there are a lot of specialty items that we didn’t have. Having a list of substitutes or less recipes with these special ones would be nice. I was able to look up a sun for slo gin which a few recipes call for, but I just skipped the others.

The pictures were nice and the look of the book is beautiful. I would like pictures of the glassware along with the description though.

I received this book for free from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The name of the book caught my eye more than the cover. However I will be honest I still almost scrolled on by because the cover was just... okay to me.

However I'm extremely glad I read the book anyway because wow. First of all the pictures of the drinks themselves made me want to try every single one. Even the tiny pictures of drinks in the first part of the book where tools, etc were listed were fun. Visually on the outside the book was just okay for me. But inside loved it.

Secondly super informative. The tools, etc were super helpful at the beginning so someone could go into this with a general idea what what types of tools they'd need. But the recipes themselves were direct, simple, and easy to follow.

Thirdly I was pleasantly surprised at the little bits of history with each drink. I never realized how neat it was to find out where a drink came from until this book and then I was reading the recipes half for the recipe and half for the history.

All around a very useful book for anyone who likes to entertain at home or just make themself a drink now and then.

Disco Drinks is a dazzling journey back to the 1970s that will have you grooving to the beat of some seriously fabulous cocktails. The first thing you'll notice is the stunning full-color illustrations that do complete justice to these retro-inspired concoctions. They're almost too beautiful to drink, but trust me, you won't be able to resist.
What truly sets this book apart is that the recipes work like a charm. (I've tried a handful, and each one turned out as groovy as promised.) Whether you're a seasoned mixologist or a novice, the step-by-step instructions make crafting these cocktails a breeze. Plus, the author's thoughtful inclusion of a list of essential tools and answers to frequently asked questions ensures that even newcomers to cocktail making will feel like pros. Also, although a recent cocktail aficionado, this book has listed a brief history of how certain drinks came to life. Did you know the story behind Mick Jagger and Tequila Sunrise? Or Tom Hanks' Diet Cokagne? I did not. Wow!
Whether you're hosting a '70s-themed party or just want to add some pizzazz to your cocktail repertoire, this book is a must-have. From the playful and colorful Rainbow Over Paradise to the classic Harvey Wallbanger, there's a drink for every mood and occasion. And for those who prefer non-alcoholic options, a full chapter covers the subject and offers refreshing sips like Disco Shandy and and Whipped Lemonade.
In short, this is your ultimate guide to shaking up some seriously sensational cocktails!

Disco Drinks by Sassy Davis is a must for every host/hostess!! The drink recipes are fabulous (including plenty of non-alcoholic options), as are the accompanying pictures. Definitely a great book to buy in hard copy and keep handy! Highly recommend!

Loved the familiar and new cocktails. Enjoyed the images and how easy the drinks were to prepare.

I received a copy via NetGalley and all opinions are my 0wn.

Disco drinks is a cute book about cocktails with classics like Blue Hawaii and Sloe Screw. The pictures are very pretty and the drink recipes are well written. But this book is really for a beginner or something like a hostess gift. The information is basic and the 1970's spin on a cocktail book isn't compelling. Honestly - why include some of the mocktails like an Arnold Palmer or Shirley Temple - not necessary. Jassy Davis is a great author and really like many of her books, but this is not a favorite.

Mark my words, you'll get quite a lot from reading Disco Drinks;
*You'll get sixty mouth- cocktails, organised by key element - Tropical, Smoky, Sweet or Fizzy and each beautifully photographed.
*You'll learn something new - who knew the Tequila Sunrise became famous due to a bartender refusing to make Mick Jagger a Margarita? Not me, before I read Disco drinks.
*You'll get an instant craving for a Biscoff Martini....well I did anyway. As I type, my husband is out buying the ingredients! Woohoo!

There are some absolute classic cocktails in this book, and some you probably won't have heard of, so you can add them to your bucket list to try. I loved how the background to each drink was given, as well as tips on how to make and customise each drink. It's a book that caters from everyone too. as eleven of the recipes are mocktails, the really the whole family can join in your disco and drinks event.

Disco Drinks is a really fun yet functional cocktail recipe book. Definitely a book every cocktail enthusiast needs to own. Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

"Disco Drinks" was a recipe book that aimed to bring '70s vibes and groovy cocktails to my home. While it offered a fun selection of 60 disco-inspired cocktails, slushies, and martinis, I would rate it three stars due to concerns related to the quality of the book's images.

One of the issues with "Disco Drinks" is that the pictures appear to be pixelized or of lower quality, which detracted from the overall visual appeal and the excitement of trying out these retro cocktails. To me, high-quality images are crucial in cocktail books as they inspire me and help me envision the final product. In this case, the images have completely compromised the overall vibe and aesthetic of the book.

On a positive note, the book provides step-by-step instructions for each cocktail, making it accessible for both beginners and experienced mixologists. It offered a range of colorful and playful drinks inspired by the 1970s party spirit, which added a fun and nostalgic touch to my gatherings.

In summary, "Disco Drinks" is a three-star book that offers a unique theme and a variety of cocktail recipes to explore. However, the issue with the quality of the book's images may disappoint readers who were hoping for a more visually appealing experience. If you're primarily interested in the recipes and don't mind the image quality, it could still be a valuable addition to your mixology collection, however I would not purchase this with my own money,

This is such a fun book! I was expecting just a list of cocktail recipes but it was so much more than that. The opening pages contained everything you need to know about different types of shakers, spoons, garnishes and how best to use all of them. I had no idea there were so many different types of each. Each page not only contained cocktail recipes but a history and/or story to go along with each one. Not only were they beautifully written but the artwork and photography are outstanding. I loved that there is a good amount of mocktails and non-alcoholic pitcher drink options. If you like to make drinks for others or even just yourself, this book is a must have.

We are heading into fall, which is the time of year where we tend to have people over regularly to sit outside and enjoy cooler weather with friends and good drinks. I am forever in search of new and unique drink ideas to share when friends come over.

This book is full of recipes I am familiar with for those friends who aren’t so adventurous, and has even more drinks that are completely new to me. I am so excited to try out so many of these new drinks.

The instructions are very clear and the photos and layout are spectacular. I think it will be very easy to pick recipes in advance to be sure I have all of the ingredients on hand and to follow the instructions when things are hectic.

I love a good cocktail and the mix of cocktails and mocktails in this book did not disappoint. I am relatively lazy when it comes to making a drink but I feel that I can make most of the drinks in this book. The recipes are easy to follow and the pictures are beautiful.
