This was a quick read but it doesn't half pack a lot in! There's a creepy tense atmosphere, plenty twists and turns, and so many life lessons that really make you think. It's heartwarming and I was really invested in the characters and what they were going through. I couldnt put it down and was completely lost in the story. A must read

The Stepmother is the first book that I've read from these authors but it won't be my last. The start was a little slow for me but I'm glad that I stuck with it because after the slow beginning, the book took right off.
This was a dark thriller that was full of twists and turns with characters that you just couldn't trust. They were all willing to keep secrets, no matter the consequences.
The ending shook me to the core. I was absolutely speechless. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a chilly psychological thriller.

This is another fantastic book by this duo of authors. I’ve enjoyed their other books, and this certainly didn’t disappoint.

It’s a great, and well written psychological thriller that I’d recommend.

The Stepmother by Sally Rigby and Amanda Ashby is a thriller that is hard to put down. Libby Curtis is stepmother to Sam and Sienna and loves them and wants to protect them, even if she questions how innocent they are. She has her own tough relationship with a mother she barely cares for and a heartbreaking history that caused the rift. When she suspects Sam may have been involved in an incident with a former friend of Sienna's, her motherly instincts kick in as she does her best to find out the truth while protecting her child.

I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading others by the authors.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this ARC.

I really enjoyed Sally Rigbys Cavendish and Walker series so was excited to read this standalone. Although a slightly different style I enjoyed this just as much. Some twists and turns that I thought I had figured out but a few red herrings proved I was wrong. A good solid storyline that kept me gripped. I look forward to reading more like this.

My Review:
Enjoyed!!!!! This was my first book by these another’s and it certainly won’t be my last. I read this in just a few sittings. I loved the plot. A mother willing to do anything to protect her children is right up my alley. I am like that with my own son and could totally relate to that character. In fact, all the characters were great. I didn’t know who to trust in this one. They were all shady and willing to keep secrets at all costs. That’s my kind of book. Now let’s talk about that wow of an ending. I was like OMG. It was definitely shocking and left me speechless. I was so sad to see this one end. I got so involved with all of it. I really felt like I was right there living this story with everyone. I love that in a book.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

LOVED this book!! So many angles that keep you guessing. Libby Curtis is working at an EMT when her daughter's friend is found drugged and escaped from lock-up. Meanwhile, Gemma hears about this case and starts to investigate the similarities between this and her brother's disappearance. Libby starts to put things together and isn't sure what to believe. Some of this book seemed predictable but it was not!!! Surprises all the way through. Amazing book!

A girl has been found injured after she had been kidnapped. A woman whose brother went missing many years ago and thinks that the perpetrator did more than he was ever charged for is looking into things and a step-mother who has suspicions about her stepson is also finding out things she would rather not. Libby Curtis is the stepmother who has her own issues about her older brother from many years ago and is finding her adopted family has a past she never realised when she fell for Nathan, her husband and the father of the twins- Sam and Sienna. Is Sam hiding something and what on earth has happened in the past for all this to come crashing down?
This is an engaging read, and complex to begin with as there are numerous inroads as to who is looking into the crime from different perspectives (it's well written and hence easy to follow). Both Sam and Sienna have their own secrets, as it appears do most of the main characters in one way or another making this a real page turner. A twist I didn’t see coming and one cleverly crafted. An entertaining read that kept me between the pages

Libby is stepmother to twins Sam and Sienna and adores being a mom to them.
Life takes a turn as the kids become rebellious teens and stop talking to her
and their father Nathan.
She is determined to get through these days when a friend of their kids is found on the
side of the road badly beaten and tells a story of being held hostage.
Everything suddenly starts turning upside down as she suspects one of both of their
twins may know more than they are letting on.
Determined to find answers, Libby becomes an amateur sleuth.
The story has two great interwoven plots that interact seamlessly with the story itself.
The suspense ratchets up and makes it a great thriller of a read.
Terrific surprises that really intrigued me because I never saw them coming.
Great read.

Thank you, NetGalley for thiz ARC. I have found a new author! Well, authors. I will admit that I kind of figured out some of the ending early on,but the story kept me engaged. There were so many secrets in Libby's family that I had to know what was going on. I felt like that nosey neighbor who wanted to know what was going on next door. I just couldn't put this book.down.

Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the copy of The Stepmother. The start was really slow, and for the first half I was wondering why there were so many five star reviews. Then the book got interesting! The slow buildup kind of made sense, but I wish it had been interspersed with some interesting elements. I liked the complex story and how we slowly learned more about what Sienna and Sam were doing that night. This is a good thriller, and the parts about how families evolve was a nice addition. 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars.
