Always enjoy reading this series and reading about the sisters and there antics! Loved reading about the previous and new characters too! A perfect Sunday afternoon read!
Part of the Heatherly Hall series, but it works as a standalone story too.
Triplets Hannah, Eva and Rosa are faced with a huge task - a celebrity wedding at Heatherly Hall. Add in an Agatha Christie style performance and mystery tour the day after the event, and they've got their work cut out. Can the wedding go off without a hitch, and can the women work through their personal problems at the same time?
I must admit this isn't my favourite in the series. I wasn't particularly fond of the historical flashback chapters, and I felt as if one character in particular had a completely unbelievable personality transplant in this book compared to previous. I also didn't warm to Hannah or Eva this time round. However I do love Rosa and Joe, and hope the next book strongly focuses on them. The characters involved in the Agatha Christie play were amusing, and I loved Paddy!
Enjoyed it, but it wasn't one of my favorites. All the most unfavorable characters were placed in one book and were always gathered together. No one seemed happy in this book. Hannah is definitely the least likeable twin. I don't know what it is about her. She seems to get infatuated with the worst guys even when she has the perfect boyfriend. The constant drinking and the scene at Clementine's was ridiculous. Hannah is not the most annoying Quinn sister by far. That title belongs to Virginia, I mean Ginny. I cringed every time Virginia showed up. She made a complete 180 on all her views and became another person. I HATED reading about her. In the previous books, Virginia was so sanctimonious. Now she's the type of person she always looked down at. I'm pretty sure Virginia thought she was entitled to a bunch of money. Rosa, Hannah and Eva could have invited Virginia to help out with the events of Heatherly Hall. Then maybe Virginia wouldn't have reached out to Jonny and Billy-Jo. I really didn't enjoy the of the mystery of the missing jet jewelry. Why can't Joe and Carys have shared custody of Chiara? It was great to revisit the triplets, but I wouldn't mind reading about new characters. There really needs to be an index of all the characters to keep track of everyone because after awhile the books and people start to blend together. Every time I read the books about Westenbury, I want to live there and become friends with everyone(except Virginia).
Definitely recommend the book. Enjoyed the characters(mostly), story and writing style. I love reading about the village and seeing what everyone is up to. Look forward to reading more books by the author. I simply can't resist going back to Westenbury.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Aria & Aries through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This series goes from strength to strength and this latest instalment is the best yet. Lots of drama, the triplets are in full force and with an intriguing back story and a new wedding to plan its all go yet again. Some good surprises, colourful characters and an entertaining read.
Although this is the third book in a series, you do not need to have read the others first in order to understand this one.
A fun look at the chaos and difficulties that make up family life, especially when that family is a set of triplet sisters!
This was a fun, light-hearted read, easily finished in under an hour.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in return for my honest review.
Thank you netgalley & publishers for an advanced copy of this book. Huge praise for Julie Houston on this latest book, I absolutely loved it. For anyone who hasn't read the previous books (you must) it can be read as a standalone and the recap/catch-up on the characters was perfect for those of us that have read previous books. A perfect blend of warmth, wit and charm.
Heatherly Hall is doing well but Hannah is determined to make it even better. Hearing of a local legend of a missing diamond and Jet necklace and earrings that were originally made to present to Wallace Simpson before they mysteriously disappeared gives Hannah ideas.
With the help of her sisters Eva and Rosa and some friends they decide to hold an Agatha Christie themed evening ending in a treasure hunt for the lost jewels.
Then Bollywood star Aditi Sharma chooses Heatherly Hall as the venue for her wedding to rock star Drew Livingstone, at very short notice.
With more family secrets coming out of the woodwork, and all three sisters desperately trying to hold their personal lives together can they pull off the seemingly impossible? Stage the wedding of the year, hold a treasure hunt and keep their hearts in one piece.
This is a lovely, warm story that will keep you glued to the page from start to finish.
I LOVED this! I've been a fan of Julie's for a long time now and, as I constantly say, her books get better with each new one! This story had it all, humour, drama, romance and real laugh out loud (but also a couple of lump in the throat) moments. I can't wait to see what's next from the fabulous Julie Houston!
The triplets are doing well with managing Heatherly Hall on daily basis. Then a rock star and actress want to hold their wedding there. Add in that they’ve anticipated their own celebrity chefs and an elephant and quickly becomes quite an undertaking. There is also a mystery night planned based on missing jewels that may or may not still be on the premises. Add in triplets personal relationships and you have quite an exciting story.
This is supposedly the final book in the trilogy of Heatherly Hall and the triplets. The ending left me to question that. Though most issues were cleared up at the end I felt there were still some loose ends. The triplets older sister is stirring up trouble along with their half brother and his wife. They are placate at the end but it seems only temporary. All that being said, I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
I know, every time I finish reading a Julie Houston book, I say, this is her best one yet, but this one really is!
It has everything, the triplets (of course) are getting on with life running the hall and there is mayhem aplenty in store for them with a very glitzy wedding to organise, but being Heatherly hall, this is no ordinary wedding and nothing goes to plan, well, how could it when you have an elephant to fit in and priceless gems to track down?
Bravo, Julie, I hope there are plans for more HH books in the future!
I love catching up with the triplets. It feels like coming home to a warm house with the Christmas tree lights on and snuggling on the sofa in a warm blanket. There is the usual chaos and difficult moments that make up family life and some equally out there moments, which I really wasn’t expecting. An absolutely wonderful read.
It's so good to be back at Heatherly Hall with the triplets and their not so nice big sister. I'm also a bit sad that this is only a trilogy as this story could go on and on. It didn't take me long to remember who was who and then I couldn't put it down.
There's a wedding at the hall and it's a big undertaking for Hannah, Rosa and Eva. We also go back in time for a few chapters to learn about a maid who worked there.
So many laugh aloud moments in this book, many curtesy of big sister Virginia and her yoga group.
There's a revelation which I still don't believe is true. A mystery surrounding jewellery and a handsome man who is running rings around them all. Add in some pop stars and an elephant and you have a great book just waiting to be read.
So nice to catch up with the triplets and see their shenanigans at the hall. They are all back on form settling into their roles as trustees of the hall since the sad passing of Bill their biological Father. This time they are trusted with the Bollywood wedding of a famous actress and pop star. Glamour, elephants and celebrity chefs are added to the mix as well as an Agatha Christie play and mystery of historical stolen gems adds to the mayhem. This is a great book and adds to the series really well. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I loved being back with the triplets and their trials and fun at Heatherly Hall. I loved the elephant and the thtwists with the wedding… You can read alone but better to have read the others. I loved the neat ending. Just a nice jolly good read.
Full disclosure, I am already a huge fan of Julie Houston’s books and so couldn’t wait to dive back in and read the third book in the Vicar of Westenbury trilogy. Each book can be read as a standalone with characters that are so relatable they feel like friends and if you haven’t already you’ll want to catch up with the Quinn triplets Rosa, Hannah and Eva in the first two books.
This is another cracking story, a roller-coaster of a ride taking us through the full range of emotions. Laugh out loud funny to heart wrenchingly sad and everything in between, but we are in very safe hands with the author and are left smiling at the end.
Julie Houston has blown it out of the park again with this fabulous book, just perfect for curling up in front of the fire with, or on a sun bed at the beach or for a lovely pick-you-up at the end of a hard day.
Highly recommend.
