I've had a run of bad books for some reason lately, so when I read Rocked and fell in love with its characters it was a real relief. The premise of this book is a bit of a stretch, the idea that a sheltered young woman, who hadn't even slept with a man yet, would go and marry a rock star she'd just met, without knowing anything about him. It didn't matter though as Shay and Chase work really well together and I enjoyed reading their story as it unfolded.
This is the first in a new series and I enjoyed it so much that I can't wait to go back and experience more of the Tin Gods and their world. It was a good read and one that I would recommend.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

The story of Shay and rocker Chase proves that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. With two opposites getting married suddenly was a little crazy but it definitely worked in this story. This was at times a humor with their situation that made me laugh as Shay was trying to cope with what goes on with marrying someone as famous as Chase. Yet it makes you wonder just how many times has this actually happened. Knowing they get their HEA, I can’t imagine the outcome would be for most. I liked the book for the escapism and the good romance story read.

I know it is a rushed romance but there should be more talking before the marry me. Not a polite dinner with some topics covered, mainly about sex and sex.
I loved Ella and Jesse. I definitley want to read their book to see if it will be any different.
The smexy scenes didn't seem sexy at all. At one point Shay is essentially being used for just Smex, gets annoyed by it but does not address it at all.
Chase seems to recognise the errors of his ways, say it to his band mate about stop drinking but he doesn't say this properly to Shay.
However, there is a good amount of character development as Shay gets into her future as becoming a chef.
This felt like a rewrite of Kylie Scott's "Lick". Overall, I liked this book but it seemed rished in parts but stretched in unnecessary parts.
I look forward to Archer's future books to see growth amongst her work.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from #netgalley , thank you. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Shay forgets the next morning that she married Chase after only knowing him for a few hours. Didn’t know he was a rock star. Certainly didn’t know about his lifestyle.
Oops!
Chase on the other hand knew exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. The words and music started flowing in him the moment he laid eyes on her. Felt their chemistry every time he touched her.

If you can get through the first 35% of this story - mostly just about sex and her being a virgin - you’ll love this one. I was tempted to stop reading a few times, but I pushed through and thought the second half of the story was great! I could have condensed the beginning part much smaller though… I just felt it was a bit boring…

Maybe I'm not the target audience for this book.

****Minor Spoilers***

The tropes here really threw me off. I've never read this author before so maybe it's in line with other writings and may not. Insta-love was a little bonkers, but fine. What got me was the talk of religion and virginity and the MMC fixating on needing to marry the FMC and take her virginity and then also post it online to get back at his ex. Immediate ick for me. If there was more focus on their connection I could excuse it but the MMC just kept talking about taking her home to bed her. Not for me.

I appreciate the author and Netgalley for the opportunity. I received this ARC for free and am leaving this review honestly and voluntarily

Attention grabbing and highly addictive! Gillian Archer delivers on the rocker lifestyle with the kickoff to her brand new Tin Gods Rock Stars series and the introduction of an almost unredeemable lead singer with the world at his fingertips. Chase is complex because in one aspect he's kind and sincere and in another he's selfish and unseeing. I was invested in the story quickly and am looking forward to more to come from these guys for sure!

Shay was my favorite! Yes, she's naive and almost too kind for her own good, but she's such a sweetheart and just has a goodness to her that makes you want to be her best friend and give her a hug. I really enjoyed seeing her find something she loved in life and be treasured as she deserved.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a sullied rockstar falling hard for that forever love just when he least expects it.

Oh, get ready for your heart to crack a few times. Shay hasn’t been dealt the best of hands, but she is far too kind and giving to let anyone drag her down to their level of meanness. Those who should care don’t seem to, those who claim to appear to only use, and those who need to throw her away like she’s utterly disposable and unworthy. But you know what? Shay is incredibly strong. Even more so than she gives herself credit for. And she’s not just going to take this nonsense anymore. Nope. She’s going to let herself have a good cry or ten, then figure out her life.

And Chase? Well, he’s got some growing to do. Or a lot. Because he loves Shay, but that scares him. He needs her, but he doesn’t want to change the roll he’s on. He adores her, but it would seem when anger and downright dumb decisions fuel him, he’s willing to throw it all away. And honestly, his band mates aren’t any better. They see it all coming and just…LET it. So the grovel shouldn’t be just his, but it is when Shay is the one who is Chase’s whole world.

Luckily, Chase gives excellent grovel. And he defends Shay even when she’s not there to know about it. He also learns to listen to those wiser than he’ll ever be and takes all that he’s learned to win his wife back. So no matter how angry you get, remember that. This guy isn’t afraid of the work. Or the misery that comes with it. And maybe the other three guys will prove that they’ll work just as hard for love when it falls into their laps, too.

Great Rockstar story! I really, really enjoyed this book! It started out great and got even better. I didn’t want it to end. I liked the way Shay and Chase’s characters -and their relationship - developed. It was easy to fall in love with both of them. A solid start to a new series! I’m so looking forward to the next book - Refrain - out in May.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Rocked (Tin Gods #1) by Gillian Archer from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Overall, I enjoyed this novel and it made for a quick, easy read. The main characters - Shay and Chase - were an interesting match but they worked as a couple. Their banter was entertaining, they had decent chemistry, and they were pretty cute together. This novel was well written and the plot was engaging from start to finish.

Quick Summary: A hot rocker romance

My Review: Rocked by Gillian Archer is book one in the new Tin Gods series. It was everything a rock star romance should be.

About the Book: After being jilted by his girlfriend, the famous lead singer from the rock group Tin Gods up and marries a stranger. She is his new muse. The newlyweds make beautiful music together, until a rather devastating development arises. With paparazzi hounding them, family and friends interrupting them, and growing pains hindering them, they have a lot pressing in on them. Do they have what it takes to make it? Will their relationship last, or will it fold before it even has a chance to soar?

My Final Say: Opposites really do attract! That was my takeaway from this story. It was aces. What Shay and Chase found was kismet. What they experienced was heartbreakingly sweet. Despite the rough patches, I was totally feeling Team Chay. Their chemistry was insane, and they just worked. Their attachment, their connection, their steam - it was all so very emotional and explosive.

* Readers who are all about rocker romances with a side of growth points will undoubtedly vibe with this installment.

Other: Bring on book 2. Let's go!

Rocked is the first book in a two book series about good girl, Shay, and bad boy rocker, Chase. There were so many things I liked about this book, but there were quite a few times you had to suspend ALL reality to try and enjoy this book. I absolutely love romance novels and devour them, and while I like his book and totally believe the happy for now, it is not a HEA. And, on the last page of the book I see that that is true there is a second book coming out in May, 2024 continuing the story of this couple. I am actually looking forward to that book, because at the end of this book I did not believe that the couple would last for the long haul. I was hoping for a 5 year epilogue instead of a "one month later", but I guess if there is going to be a book two that is the reason. I'm giving this book 4 stars, but it is probably closer to a 3.5 than a 4. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy.

Shay is a virgin before meeting Chase. She is not naive though. She knows plenty, and boy does it turn Chase on. Rocked, is more about their marriage than the rock band part part of it. I liked it better because of that. All that can go right and wrong when someone is in this type of relationship, is just a part of what made this book awesome.

4 ½ Stars for this rockstar and his muse!

I loved Shay ... she just so "dang" innocent and I think that is why Chase was able to sweep her off her feet. It really bothered me that Chase only thought of her as his writing inspiration and I felt he was taking advantage of her. Even though Shay was living the life of luxury, she was kinda stuck in Chase's world. The banter between the characters is very realistic, especially between the band members. This is a great start to a new series and I can't wait for Jesse and Elle's story!

Chase is a rockstar and was in Vegas to marry is girlfriend Meadow, but he finds out that she actually married someone else. He goes to a club to drown his sorrows and overhears Shay's so called friends teasing her about being a virgin. He can't help but be drawn to her because when he looks at her the music in his head comes back after being gone for a very long time. Shay was forced to go on her cousin's bachelorette weekend to Vegas. She doesn't want to be there and her cousin and her friends don't want her there. So when this hunky guy asks her to join him, she readily agrees. The last thing she expected was to be married to him by the end of the night. She has no idea he is a famous rockstar and the world she's being dragged into.

A big thank you to NetGalley and the author for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. For me, this was pretty far fetched-but what do I know? The rich and famous-like a very different lifestyle than myself. This book made me smile and laugh. I liked all the characters except Peter. I also liked the fact that Shay did not recognize Chase. Shay's home life was not the greatest. I believe that this is the beginning of a new series. I will definitely read the next in the series. 4 stars

This might just be my favorite Gillian Archer yet. All of the fun of a rockstar daydream with a heroine you cannot help but root for. Shay meets Chase at a low point while in Vegas for her heinous cousin’s bachelorette. She doesn’t recognize him as the lead singer of a world famous band. She just sees a hot, seemingly kind man she is highly attracted to and when in Vegas….Chase has just been abruptly dumped and hasn’t been able to write in months when he spots Shay and she lets loose a torrent of lyrics in his mind almost instantly. Clearly they are meant to be. An impulsive wedding after knowing each other for a few hours shouldn’t cause any drama, right?

Two very different people trying to find their way together to make a future out of a decision that none around them initially supports. They need to get to know and trust each other and themselves with a spotlight always shining on them. This book started off fun and silly but quickly grew into a story with more substance. It never lost the escapism of a fantasy but it made my investment in the characters more intense.. Really looking forward to more in this series.

Rocked

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

In the first book in A Tin Gods Rock Star Romance. We meet Shay and Chase and oh boy did they take me for a Rock Star ride and it was so so good! The authors writing flawless and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

Authors Blurb: Shay
Las Vegas was a terrible idea. Why can't I say no to my family? After a night out with my awful cousin for her bachelorette party, I wake up naked in a strange bed surrounded by scrawled notebook pages. Turns out I’d married a rock star last night. How am I ever going to explain this to my religious parents?

Chase
I went to Vegas to get married, only she married someone else, so why shouldn’t I do the same? It’s the best way to stop public speculation about the marriage-that-wasn’t. But even better, something about Shay has flipped a switch inside me—suddenly I can write music again. Only my new little wifey isn’t thrilled about our marriage.

She says drunken mistake. I say best night ever. Of course I'm right. And I'll use everything I've got to convince her.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
