his was cute! i really enjoyed these characters and all of the relationships within the book. honestly though i think i was more interested in a side relationship, specifically wren and ellis 👀 they give off strong second chance vibes so i’d definitely pick that book up! i think i struggled with the lack of direction in this one. the plot didn’t really pick up until over halfway through the book, and even then there wasn’t much of a plot besides the romance. the chemistry between the main couple was also lacking for me; it felt kinda rushed and forced, to a degree. but even then, i still had a fun time reading this! it was just not what i expected or hoped, sadly.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this.
I absolutely loved this book, I loved Sage and Fisher so much. Tarah’s books are always so amazing. Just read it. You won’t regret it

Absolutely loved this book! It whisked me away to the Oregon coast (although sad to find out, Spunes is not a real place), where Sage and Fisher’s story unfolds in the most heartwarming way.

The characters are incredibly relatable; Sage, with her endearing quirks and love for her small world, and Fisher, whose journey from a grieving chef to finding solace in unexpected places is beautifully portrayed. I found the pace of their relationship realistic as well. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right timing, but Tarah did so amazingly.

I would’ve liked to see more of Indy’s and Sage’s relationship, but maybe an opportunity for a sequel? Would love to read more of these characters.

5⭐️

i absolutely loved this one 🥹 this book felt like the warmest hug!!!

small town, neighbors/forced proximity, found family vibes, this book has it all! amazing characters, the cutest/zaniest local small town community (think stars hollow), perfect humor, tons of animals, and the perfect amount of every emotion you would want to feel in a book.

also the writing in this book scratched some itch in my brain just right, it was perfect.

the angst in this book was everything. between the hilarious characters and the cutest community and geographical setting, the urge to move back to a small town in the PNW is so so strong!!!

i could read about Sage and Fisher for another 300 pages and never get bored of them🥹🫶🏼

Tarah Dewitt is a new to me author and I appreciate the ARC from Netgalley. Sage lives in a coastal town, recently got out of a relationship and finds out her other ex is engaged. Fisher is a chef down on his luck sent to consult on a restaurant after the death of his sister and taking on raising his niece. He bumps heads with other people in town and Sage steps in to help. Fake dating leads to real feelings and they must figure out what they both want moving forward. A fun and entertaining romcom.

What I always enjoy about Tarah Dewitt's writing is that her characters are never a perfect package. They are flawed people trying to find their way the best way they know how. This was such a sweet read about grief, friendship, and self-discovery.

Unique family dynamics are always a win for me and seeing an open and vulnerable single "dad/uncle" with a not-so-easy to love teenage niece was really moving.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC!

After initially struggling to connect with this book I'm happy to say I ended up really enjoying it. Fisher and Sage were interesting characters - both a little awkward at times, both trying to work through things from their pasts. I enjoyed watching their bond grow and how they were so completely supportive of one another. I could just feel their love blossoming and could tell the exact moment Fisher was all in with Sage. Let's just say it involved a surprising addition to the family. There were many moments towards the end that really tugged on my heart but goodness that feeling when this couple figured it out, all the swooning. While disappointed with the slow start to this book, ultimately I found it to be a satisfying romance and look forward to reading more from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and SMP for the ARC.

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚 Savor It by Tarah DeWit

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐♾️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Pages: 336
Publication Date: May 21, 2024

THE GIST:
Fisher Lange was a hotshot chef in New York City until tragedy struck and left his life in shambles. In order to revitalize his life and career, his boss offers him a summer sabbatical consulting on a restaurant in a small costal town. It's a quick job with a promotion in NYC waiting at the end. How can he say no?

Sage Byrd lives a quirky, small town life which means there's very little chance of hiding from your past. Especially when your past happens to be the town golden boy who recently got engaged... to someone else.

Both need a way to prove their worth to a town full of busy bodies so they strike a deal and set out to win the towns annual summer competition. However, they soon come to realize winning the competition is the least of their worries and summers vacations don't last forever.

THOUGHTS AND THINGS:
We've waited a long time for a new book from Tarah and this gem was Worth. The. Wait. I don't know what she puts in her books but they are like crack to my soul. I cannot get enought.

I loved the small town dynamics and the quirky cast of characters (human and furry alike). It was such a joyous setting, I couldn't get enough. It gives rustic wilderness, quirky farm, and cozy small town all wrapped into one perfect package.

There is a perfect balance of opposites attract and sparking chemistry between Sage and Fisher and it's beautiful to watch unfold. Their romance is realistic but also so swoon-worthy. I had all the heart eyes.

I really appreciated the emotional depth that both of their traumas brings to the story. It's something they truly work through on the page and it brings genuine heartache and healing to the reader.

I honestly can't recommend this book enough to any romance reader. She's a beaut.

Small Town Romances are always just the sweetest, and Savor It is definitely a book worth savoring!

Sage has lived in Spunes her whole life, and is literally sunshine personified. She is quirky and silly and loving and cheerful, and has Fisher, a grumpy and new-to-town chef, completely smitten.
Sage is still working on herself after a recent break up with the town's golden boy, and Fisher is trying to fix some mistakes he made back in New York when a deal is struck between the two to help with building back up each other's reputation.
Through a summer spent together, Sage and Fisher are sure they can keep things casual, but they quickly find themselves falling deeper and deeper into each other and the potential of a life spent together.

Take me to Spunes, please!!! What a fun, cozy little town! I absolutely loved the setting of this book. Sage and Fisher were such well fleshed out characters. They were perfectly flawed and has such great conversations with each other that led to such a beautiful chemistry. Not to mention all the side characters too! I loved Sages brothers (I would happily take books from their perspective in the future!) and INDY WAS INCREDIBLE. Plus all the little animals!

This was a predictable romance, but sometimes that’s exactly what the mood calls for. And I love that we didn’t have the classic miscommunication 3rd act break up! This was definitely a win for me!

OMG STOPPPP!! I wanted to savor this book and make it last, but I DEVOURED this book!! I absolutely love a small town romance, that setting always gets me excited because there's such a sense of community and belonging. It was easy to fall in love with Spunes and the main characters, Sage and Fisher. Also, love the fact that Fisher's a single parent to his niece, even though it's so sad that it's because his sister passed away. There were so many other things I enjoyed about this story too like how they struck a deal to help each other out, and how they were both grieving some type of loss (Sage - relationship, Fisher - death of a family member). UGH I loved this book and will definitely be recommending and buying a copy when it comes out because also..love the cute cover.

Easiest five star read I’ve read I love this author so much. I was instantly attracted to the cover in the blurb, but the characters are just superstars. They are so lovely and the storyline is the sweetest. Definitely check this one out five stars!

So happy that this book was recommended to me! What could be better than a small town romance with an animal loving FMC and Michelin star chef MMC?? Sage and Fisher were everything I wanted them to be. I thought the layers of grief and found family added so much depth to the story, and I became so invested in all the side characters as well. I will be anxiously awaiting any follow-up books if this becomes a series (Wren and Ellis please????)

I will post my review once St. Martin's Press addresses the racist actions of their employee and their action plan for the future. Until then, I am joining my fellow reviewers in withholding reviews and any other promo for St. Martin’s Press. No backlash against the author of this book, it is simply due to the ongoing boycott of the publishing company.

This book was so cute! The characters had great chemistry, and the small-town feeling was so cozy. I don't think I'll remember this story in a few years, but it was great for now.

Oh my gosh this was amazing!

Savor It is a small town romance focused on Sage, a high school social studies teacher, and Fisher, a renowned chef from New York. (Plus Sages entourage of farm animals and Fishers niece who he is guardian of.)

This is the first Tarah Dewitt book I've ever read and I had a feeling from her social media presence that she would write my kind of books - I was correct. Excuse me while I go devour everything else she's ever written.

There is not one character in this book that I didn't love, all of them stole a place in my heart. Even the ones I wasn't really supposed to like. Please take me back to Spunes immediately. The banter between Sage and Fisher was everything that I love about romance novels, and the PUNS. Amazing.

such a cute small town romance about healing yourself while also healing someone else with a small town bakery, a chef and all the animals we wish we could rescue ourselves

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martins Press for allowing me to read an ARC of Savor It.

Savor It is about Sage and Fisher. Fisher comes to the small town of Spunes, Oregon from New York City, trying to pick himself up after years of hardship and re-establish himself in the culinary world, all while trying to raise his still grieving teenage niece after the loss of her mother years ago. Sage is the girl next door if the girl next door had a farm full of misfit animals, a field of growing flowers, and after losing her parents young, a passion for trying to embrace life and all the little joys. Sage can't help but do what she can for Fisher and his niece, and Fisher can't help but fall for her as she does, but this can't last when he's only here for the summer....right?

I really enjoyed this book! I think that this book will really resonate with anyone who has ever felt the pressure to escape a small town for a big city. While for some that change is one that speaks to their soul, for others, it is a reaction to feeling the need to strive for something bigger because it seems as though it is better, and might make them better too.

I like Tarah DeWitt, her writing is great. I enjoyed "Savor It" but it felt like the chemistry between Sage and Fisher didn't have depth. One of my favorite thing it's that the book has dual POV so you get to really know both characters. Solid 3.5 stars.

Reviewed for NetGalley:

This was a slow start for me, but I definitely loved the characterizations of Sage and Fisher, as the story progressed.

I loved the family dialogue more than the romance, but still enjoyable.
