Incredible, adorable, fantastic! I loved this book. I am a big fan of small town romance, and sometimes small town can be small conflict. That was not the case for this book. The characters felt very real and their problems were realistic and relatable. Another great book from Tarah DeWitt! If there are not sequels I will riot!

I very rarely put that much thought into a book title, but I thought this one was very clever.

This is my first book by Tarah Dewitt and it won’t be my last. Savor It was such a fun read. I devoured this book in one sitting because I had such a hard time putting it down. I’m a sucker for small town romances. O matter how cliched, you know you’re always going to get a good book. Fisher and Sage were such a complimentary couple. Their romance was the perfect slow burn and their relationship developed so well. Tarah’s writing here was pretty great. I also loved the side characters here.

I didn’t expect the author to tackle the themes of grief here but she handled it well. It added more depth to the story and their romance.

Some sage advice? Read this one.

Dewitt took the small town trope and truly made it her own. It was a gift to witness Sage and Fisher navigate a relationship as well as their individual journeys to self-discovery. Between Sage's take on living life for the now, admirable strength and assertiveness with a side of chaos and Fisher's blaring green flag energy, it is impossible not to fall in love with both characters. The healthy, very adult, communication was a wonderful change of pace. The main and secondary characters all brought something special to the table. The story was a perfect balance of tender, emotional and light-hearted moments as well as comedic relief.

'Savor It' is my introduction to Tarah Dewitt's writing, and I will certainly return to her catalogue for more.

I absolutely fell in love with Sage and Fisher throughout the course of this book. I personally found Sage so relatable and adore the authentic way she lives her life. I loved Fisher and his puns. Seeing him explore his genuine self is so heartfelt and I found myself rooting for him more and more as the book went on.

The relationship building is so well-paced and I appreciate how Tarah uses time to her advantage and the character's overall development. There was tantalizing tension with a realistic lead up which made those moments be even more gratifying. I mean. THE CANOE SCENE WAS GREAT! I laughed, I cried and I just loved falling in love with these characters!

Absolutely snuggle-able, prepare to block off the whole day to devour this in one sitting. Artfully crafted, Sage and Fisher’s story includes gorgeous writing, and heart-stopping tenderness. What do we love about small towns? The endearing quirks and the way everyone cares for each other while knowing ever last morsel about their lives. I love the way Tarah Dewitt uses the small town to fling us headlong into the main character’s stories and pasts. Their meet-cute has just the right amount of calamity and small town charm, as it forces together Sage, Fisher, her ex, and her brothers all in a false alarm emergency. Healing together or loving each other while feeling broken is one of my favorite romance character arcs, and this was executed so dang well. I’m crossing all my fingers that this is hinting at stories from the rest of the Spunes crew, maybe Ellis and Wren reunited?! And the way Fisher’s hot dirty talk just completely blindsided the readers? I’m dead.

Literally cried at the end. Indy and her goose 🪿come onnnn 🥹 this was such a beautiful book, Tarah! 💛 pure magic! I will read anything this author writes!

Savor It by Tarah DeWitt is as much fun to read as this gorgeous cover art is to look at. I really enjoyed this story and was hooked from the start. Releases May 21, 2024.

Thank you to NetGalley for the digital ARC.

Tarah has done it again by completely captivating me from page 1. Sage and Fishers story was about moving forward while being stuck in the past. I love the opposites of Sage and Fishers personalities but the way they came together to compliment the better parts of one another. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. I had the best time being in this small town and I can’t wait for the opportunity to go back. Tarah has a way of showing and telling the most vivid and real love stories. The characters are flawed and show the struggles one may go through but the love these two share jumps right off the page begging you to get to the end. I wanted to start the book the second I finished it all over again.

If Tarah writes it, I will read it and love it. Like her other books, Savor It did not disappoint. Tarah has a knack for writing unlikable characters that you can't help but love. You find pieces of yourself in their story and by the end of the story part of you has healed while watching the characters grow. I will always recommend Tarah's books and this one is no different! Very well done!

Due to the ongoing St, Martins Press and Wednesday Book boycott, I will not be sharing or posting my review of this book until a proper statement is made towards one of your employees who publicly posted racist rhetoric towards Palestinian people and about the genocide happening in Gaza. We have nearly 6,000 readers who signed a petition for you to speak up about this issue.

That being said, I will only share my review here because Tarah DeWitt, and all the other authors you’re potentially hurting, deserve better.

———

Tarah has done it yet again and has created a masterpiece that absolutely emotionally wrecked me and put me back together in the end. This is the kind of book where I wanted to immediately restart it once I finished, I miss Sage and Fisher dearly.

As a someone who grew up in a small town, this one hit a little too hard and I’d just like to talk Tarah and ask how she got into my head. Sage is the type of selfless person who agrees to anything and anyone because she fears that if she doesn’t, she won’t be good enough and her loved ones will get bored and abandon her. Reading Sage’s confessions about feeling like she’s “a lot of nots”, I couldn’t stop crying. Like I said, Tarah really understood the assignment and was out to get me.

And Fisher, my sweet, broken, sexy pirate looking man. He is EVERYTHING to me and my book boyfriend list just keeps getting longer.

His journey as a single guardian and relationship with Indy is rocky and emotional that I couldn’t help but tear up multiple times. The topic of grief for both Sage and Fisher were handled so well and there’s just something about Tarah’s writing that feels like a dagger going through my chest (but like, in a good way).

The immediate connection and tension between Sage and Fisher was the perfect amount of slow burn and I was kicking my feet and giggling multiple times. And there were quite a few times where my jaw literally dropped to the floor and I was speechless (in a VERY good way).

One of my favorite things about small town romances are the multiple personalities in the towns people. I love how close the community is and how one of the main plot points was focused on a town competition that brought everyone together. Plus, I want to live on Sage’s property and live that cottage core life.

Lastly, I absolutely loved the main message throughout the story where we should live in the now and savor each moment with our loved ones. To take those risks, but also allowing yourself to slow down in life. Just because your goals and success looks different from others around you, doesn’t make yours any less valid.

I don’t know what Tarah puts in her books, but she just gets me. This is going to be another best seller, I can just feel it deep in my bones. Her best work yet and I can’t wait for everyone to meet Sage and Fisher.

Savor It is a cute book set in the town of Spunes, Oregon. I thoroughly enjoyed the town and side characters, and hope we see this turn into a series (especially Wren and Ellis). But back to Savor It; it fell somewhere between sweet and steamy for me. While there were plenty of open door scenes, they weren’t detailed or explicit. I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s mine. The book was also much deeper than I was expecting. Each of our MCs had a healthy dose of trauma in their past, and I liked how they worked through it. I LOVED that Fisher wasn’t some cocky alphahole, though I do love me some alphas. It just felt so much more realistic that Fisher was working through his crap, going to therapy, and rediscovering himself, rather than cover it all up with alpha-ness. It was honestly refreshing. It didn’t emasculate Fisher either. He was still hot as hell! I also really liked how the author so vividly portrayed Fisher’s passion for cooking. I don’t have as much to say about Sage; I liked her, she just wasn’t particularly memorable. I do really appreciate how the author depicted that subtle feeling that most of us have from time-to-time that we are lacking somehow, or not good enough, or simply not enough. It wasn’t Sage’s personality, but it was that little nagging thought every so often. I also felt that was depicted really well.

Overall, I really enjoyed Savor It, and would happily read another book by Tarah DeWitt, especially if it took place in Spunes. 3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ for the less explicit love scenes.

I received an advance review copy of Savor It for free from NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

this was my first, but definitely not my last tarah book. words cannot even begin to express how much i loved and adored this book.

sage and fisher were such beautiful and inspiring characters. sage, a woman who became an orphan so young and has been belittled and whom is just trying to find her worth in the world, and fisher, oh fisher. a burnt out chef whose grappling the loss of his sister and now has to take on the roll of caring for his niece while figuring out his demons. these two characters were able to find love in each other through their different but shared experiences, and they found the strength to persevere through their pain. it was beautiful to read and witness this. their love for eachother was just so pure and i loved everything about it. to see how deeply they cared for one another melted my heart. <b>"it's been a privilege to fall in love with you, sage"</b> LIKE MY HEART!

i think this book handled the topic of grief so well. i think indy really needed sage and her wisdom throughout this all. to know you're not alone and have people you can rely on for help is so important. it was beautiful to witness indy become herself more and appreciate fisher. seeing her slowly become less closed off made my heart so beyond happy. i think it's also so important to note the importance of therapy. for both indy and fisher to have a therapist is so amazing. normalizing needing help and that needing to talk to someone isn't something to be shameful of is important.

with all of this, tarah is also able to bring an amazing sense of humor to this book. from a three legged cat, goats, ducks, and a dog the size of a horse, it brought so much joy to my reading experience. not to mention all the cringe but enjoyable puns.

overall i was very impressed and happy with how the book came to be. i did not go into this one thinking to cry but i of course did after witnessing this beautiful story. thank you netgalley for this arc <3

“𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐬.”

Tarah Dewitt's small town romance Savor It centers on the relationship between chef Fisher Lange and high school teacher Sage Byrd.

This was my first Tarah Dewitt novel, and I was let down by this. Her writing and books are just surrounded by so much hype, and although this book wasn't particularly awful, it wasn't really fantastic either.

Simply put, I wasn't into the book or the characters' chemistry. Like, there were times when I would adore Sage and Fisher together, but their interactions would never give me the all-consuming type of love.

I understand that Indy was going through a rebellious adolescent phase after losing her mother, but she was really bothersome.

However, I must admit that I really enjoyed and laughed at a lot of the scenes that involved Sage, Indy, and Fisher.

Plainly put, I felt that this novel was too simple, even though the small town trope and each character was amazing.

I’m going to spend my hour in therapy this week talking about all the feelings I just felt.
This is not an inherently sad book. It’s funny and sweet and perfect but the writing is so emotional, the story is so beautiful, it brought me tears over and over again.

I love everything about this book. It broke my heart and put it back together. Six Stars. I am unwell.

A rabid vacuum
Lots of adorable farm animals
A goose imprinting on a teenager
Small town shenanigans
A library scene that will have you giggling and kicking your feet (actually two of those)
So. Many. Dick jokes.

This is a solid 3.5 star read. How do you process pain of loss? How do you deal with gaining custody of your niece? How do you find joy? All these question can be answered with moving to Spunes, Oregon and meeting Sage who is focused on the positive and finding happiness. She has a unique set of pets/farm that just make you want to aw. There's romance and humor just what is needed for a solid read.

Absolutely amazing. Tarah makes you feel every emotion in this book. You feel invested in every character’s life- from Fisher and Sage all the way down to Gary the goose. I can’t wait to be back in the world of Spunes in future books

After having Tarah Dewitt's multiple books sitting on my shelves forever, I finally got around to one, and an arc most of all?! So excited.

To start, I was immediately giggling in the first few pages. There's something so refreshing about going into a new story and the vibes feeling right. I was curious about her characters right off the bat, which kept me reading. This is one of those easy reads, that you can just sit back and get lost in. As someone from a small town, seeing small towns get so romanticized and not show any of the downfalls or pits can sometimes put a damper on my heart but if it's done right, it hits you differently. A beautiful story that I know so many people will be connecting to. Grateful for the opportunity to read this arc 🤍

Right off the bat I was hooked by Tarah DeWitt's extremely clever writing! She had me cackling and kicking my feet at times, especially with the banter between the two main characters Sage and Fisher.

I absolutely *adorered* these two!!! Fisher and Sage have SUCH good rapport with each other. I love their banter and their budding feelings don't feel rushed in any way. So often in rom-coms the pace is off whether it be too insta-love or a painfully slow burn (which, don't get me wrong I love a slow burn but ya gotta breadcrumb me a bit a long the way!). This was just so so well paced.

I legit sobbed for the last half of the book on and off. It tackles grief and the loss of a loved one in a very raw and relatable way. The author does a beautiful job of weaving laughter and poignancy seamleslessy into the story.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
