‘Savor It’ by Tarah DeWitt has quickly become one of my favorite books of the year! Sage and Fisher hooked me in from the very beginning and kept me captivated as their love story bloomed into something so beautiful and real. Not to mention Sprunes, a town with such an adorably unfortunate history and adorably quirky residents (farm animals included) that it made me want to leave the city in search for a little haven of my own.

Tarah wrote a story so genuine and raw that you will no doubt be left laughing out loud one moment and fighting tears the next. Despite the tears shed (or maybe because of it), I would recommend this book over and over again. I cannot wait to discover what’s next.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this E-arc for my honest review.
A laugh out loud, beautiful story of love, life and happiness. Wonderfully written with incredible characters. I loved the rescued animals incorporated as well. This book brought tears to my eyes several times…highly recommend to all.

Yay for books set in the PNW! DeWitt's characters are always so real and I loved watching these two figure things out. This is a great read and definitely one to add to your list!

Savor It is *chef's kiss*! Pun completely intended. I LOVED this small town slow burn romance. I'm really hoping that we get a return to Spunes, maybe to see Sage's brothers fall happily in love in turn? This book had me laugh out loud, weep quietly, and smile brightly, and sometimes those feelings overlapped. I'll be happily sharing this with my audience upon release.

absolutely loved the setting of this book. Dewitt did an excellent job of setting the scene, and really integrating her characters into the background of the story so seamlessly. sage was so sweet and her moments of sass were so fun. Fisher and his many struggles were so true to life and watching him overcome them was beautiful. I wish there was a little bit more focus on Sage and her people pleasing tendencies; I would have liked to see her overcome them a little bit. overall a very enjoyable book.

Love love loved this adorable rom com about a small town girl from the Pacific Northwest who falls for a disgraced chef while he’s in town for the summer. Throw in a goose who imprints on his niece and a town full of fun side characters and you have yourself this delightful read. I devoured this one in one sitting and loved every minute of it! Also who doesn’t love a man who can cook

Savor It was an incredible journey of growth, grief and healing.

Fisher and his neice Indy end up in a small town living next door to free spirit Sage and it was the best accident to happen to all three of them.

The openness and honesty between Fisher and Sage was beautiful. They way they both spoke from their hearts with shame or reservation was incredibly touching and refreshing. Miscommunication is one of my least favorite tropes so on the opposite end of that spectrum, when the FMC & MMC are so straighforward it warms my heart. Communication is difficult but the rewards are so worth.

As is this story, the journey, the heartache and the joy that takes place within these pages.

There is a touch of spice but this is mostly poetic beauty during the romantic scenes and sometimes thats more entriguing to me. Just absolutely beautiful and a life lesson we should all hold close.

small town romance, summer fling, and there’s a goose named Gary 🤭Tarah DeWitt always writes the most comforting books. they're fun, cozy and will make you laugh and cry at the same time. her characters and love stories are so lovable and different, which is why I love them so much.

Sage and Fisher might be the grumpy x sunshine duo, but their characters had so much depth. they are so human in their struggles and so so smitten with each other, it was a delight to read. they're both dealing with their own versions of grief and find comfort in each other. as they spend more time together, they savor the small moments in life, no matter how fleeting. I really liked that aspect because it forced them to live in the moment and not worry about what will come after. the love that bloomed between them was tender and peaceful. they're both trying to figure themselves out and find solace in each other. the way they cared about each other was so beautiful and I love how it came naturally. I love them so much.

and the small town, i loved being in Spruce, Oregon🤍 there's a side character I loved and I really hope to get their story because it really pulled my heartstrings.

overall, I absolutely adored these characters and can't wait to talk more about them on May 21st 🥹🫶🏽

Take me back to Spunes, Oregon!

I absolutely adored this world, the characters and all of the animals! I already cant wait to return when I reread. Tarah has also teased that we are getting another book set in Spunes 👀 I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait!!

There were laugh out loud moments and cry your eyes out moments and I loved them all! Sage and Fisher together made me smile so much. The way Sage crumbled Fisher’s grumpy facade, the way they bantered together and their beautiful slow burn love 🔥

I’m so grateful I got the chance to read this early through Net Galley. Thank you @tarhdewitt for this warm hug of a story

I think this might be my favorite book that Tarah DeWitt has written so far! Shhh, don't tell Meyer and Farley. ;)

I absolutely adored Sage and Fisher, and my girl Indy! We also cannot forget all of the quirky and entertaining side characters like Wren, Sam, Ellis, and all of the other interesting and intriguing townsfolk. Tarah has a way of world building that just sucks you in, everything flows, and you really feel like you're LIVING in that small town. I will always love a small town romance. This one had it all: a quirky main female character who is beloved by all, the ex you can't stand, the broody out of towner with a huge heart, the nosy townies, and the misjudged but ultimately lovable teenager who ends up being the voice of reason, the one who brings them together for a happily ever after.

This book has the small town, but you get a touch of fake dating, some forced proximity and working together, summer fling, grumpy/sunshine, and a heavy focus on grief, healing, and finding yourself and love. I think Tarah DeWitt writes a lot like Emily Henry, which is a huge compliment in my book and definitely for you if you're fan. There's plenty of prose, and some beautiful monologues, sage words of wisdom (no pun intended) and some highlight worthy lines throughout this book. This reminds me of a cross between The Bear and Schitt's Creek with all of the charm, wit, humor and romance that we could ever want.

I'm really hoping this becomes a series and we get books for Wren and Ellis (second chance) and a book in the future for Indy. I'd love to see Tarah write a book for her, because there is so much potential and she deserves her own book.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the eARC of this book!

I am an absolute sucker for a good small town romance - and that's exactly what this is! Savor It has a perfect blend of humor, romance, and the tight-knit community that makes a smalltown romances so unputdownable. Sage and Fisher are likeable, the conflict is realistic, and the story ties in deeper meaning without being corny, which, in my opinion, is not done well often. Would recommend!

This book was comforting, funny, and swoon worthy. I absolutely loved the small town and characters. Sage and Fisher are amazing. I love their dynamic. Sage and all her pets and rescue animals, the farm, and her advice make her personality even that much better to read.

There's no miscommunication, there's spice, and moments that just make you giddy. What more can you ask for?

This book is absolutely phenomenal. The way Tarah DeWitt writes her characters makes them feel so raw and real, I can’t get over it. The romance story is always beautiful, but both Sage and Fisher have their own difficulties that they’re working with. I just loved every second of it.

This is a sweet, summer romance. Big city, burnt out hero moves to a quirky town for the summer to find himself again and build a relationship with his niece he is now guardian over. They went up staying right next door to the heroine. This is my first book by the author, but it won’t be my last.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

Oh, boy! I loved this book so much, and I enjoyed every second of it!
Fisher and Sage, a duo that's just irresistibly adorable. Fisher's grumpy pirate vibe perfectly complements Sage's absolute joy for the little things in life. In this slow-burn love story, their communication is just chef's kiss — a testament to the beauty of a healthy relationship that keeps you turning the pages. And let's not forget Fisher's heartwarming relationship with his niece, witnessing their healing and growth together. Life lessons are seamlessly woven into the narrative, making this book a delightful package.

This gem of a book offers everything you could wish for: A+ side characters, swoony romance, and yes, tiny goats! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC; mark your calendars for May 21st if you're a fan of small-town romance, single dads (guardians), grumpy/sunshine dynamics, fake dating, and themes of grief and healing.

Enter Sage Byrd, the vivacious and eccentric female lead who breathes life into every moment. Her ability to find beauty in the ordinary is truly inspiring. On the other side, Fisher, equally lovable in his own way, tenderly navigates his relationship with Sage and works hard to be a good parent to his teenage niece.

But it's not just about the main characters; the supporting cast turns a small town into a home. The setting of Spunes, Oregon, is so enchanting that you'll find yourself wishing it were real. Tarah's writing skillfully blends romance with anxiety, grief, and acceptance, creating an enjoyable and emotionally resonant read.

Fisher and Sage are characters you'll fall in love with — Fisher, the hot, sad boy with trauma and an earring, and Sage, the girl-next-door with heartbreak and childhood loss. Their interactions, from heartfelt to spicy, showcase a deep connection that unfolds beautifully.

Tarah DeWitt's writing is pure magic, reaching into the reader's psyche and bringing forth thoughts often left unexplored. "Savor It" is a testament to her brilliance, offering a lighthearted and swoony read that tugs at your heartstrings. The banter, tension, humor, small-town charm, and diverse characters make it a memorable experience.

From Sage and Fisher's delightful banter to the dual POV, Sage's brothers, the humor, Fisher's charm, and the small-town atmosphere reminiscent of Stars Hollow, every element is finely crafted. Even the ending is a beautiful conclusion that stays true to the characters.

Though the pacing caught me off guard at times, it's a minor hiccup in a book that otherwise deserves all the stars. Tarah DeWitt has yet again delivered a story that pulls you into a world you won't want to leave, with characters you'll want as friends — or maybe even want to be.

Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press/ St. Martin's Griffin for sharing this amazing book's digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest opinions.

Small town romance? Say less.

I'll read anything Tarah DeWitt writes, so I'm incredibly grateful to have received this ARC.

Sage is a local to Spunes...a teacher who has several farm animals and an impressive garden. Fisher is a NYC chef, one who had a Michelin star taken away, and recently became a guardian to his niece, Indy. Fisher doesn't like small towns, since he grew up in one, but gets sent to Spunes to kick-start a new restaurant. Honestly, the restaurant portion was very glossed over and it was something I was hoping would be a focal point to the story.

Fisher and Indy move next door? across the field? from Sage. There's a meet cute with a roomba and a goose that imprints on Indy. Fisher and Sage team up...he tests dishes on Sage (since she's a local and locals would make up for the bulk of the restaurant's business). And Sage ropes Fisher into competing in the annual festival (that's rigged for locals to win, even though it's their biggest source of tourism every year).

In the end, I give it 3.75 stars. I loved the premise. It just felt disjointed. The pacing seemed off and the first half of the book dragged on to me. However I hope Tarah makes a return to Spunes, where we read about Wren and Ellis. Those two piqued my interest from the very beginning of the book.

First, I need more with Sage’s brothers (and Ellis and Wren). But I enjoyed Sage and Fishers love story, the small town fun and that Fisher is raising his niece. The book was really slow the first 65% or so, and finally caught up; it was really wordy at times. Fisher goes to Spurs after being fired to help open a new restaurant and try to get his Michelin star chef job back. He teams up with neighbor Sage to get the town on his side and help her win their annual festival competition.

😭 please this was such a wholesome read, I'm melting at the sweetness

This is a summer fling (turned forever??) romance, and the relationship growth between the MCs is super sweet and adorable. I also loved all the farm animals and the characters' love for them, and I loved the background side plots going on.

ALSO, the third act makeup is the cutest ever 😭

TWs - death of parents (past), characters who are orphaned as kids, stigma against out-of-towners in a small town in a way that actively affects a person/family's livelihood

-- ty to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy!

I literally finished this book in one sitting! I want to start by saying the cover art is gorgeous! It really drew me into the book. I would of loved to see one of Sage's funky shirts on her though! My only complaint is the first chapter, it really did not draw me in. It did great setting up the main character and a little of her life, but it was just lacking at pulling me in. But by chapter 3, I was hooked! This was such a quirky and fun small town romance read, but it also had its healing and sentimental moments. This book had me giggling, smirking, and getting teared up. The characters were very well written and their immediate chemistry can be felt through the pages.
