this was my first, but definitely not my last tarah book. words cannot even begin to express how much i loved and adored this book.

sage and fisher were such beautiful and inspiring characters. sage, a woman who became an orphan so young and has been belittled and whom is just trying to find her worth in the world, and fisher, oh fisher. a burnt out chef whose grappling the loss of his sister and now has to take on the roll of caring for his niece while figuring out his demons. these two characters were able to find love in each other through their different but shared experiences, and they found the strength to persevere through their pain. it was beautiful to read and witness this. their love for eachother was just so pure and i loved everything about it. to see how deeply they cared for one another melted my heart. <b>"it's been a privilege to fall in love with you, sage"</b> LIKE MY HEART!

i think this book handled the topic of grief so well. i think indy really needed sage and her wisdom throughout this all. to know you're not alone and have people you can rely on for help is so important. it was beautiful to witness indy become herself more and appreciate fisher. seeing her slowly become less closed off made my heart so beyond happy. i think it's also so important to note the importance of therapy. for both indy and fisher to have a therapist is so amazing. normalizing needing help and that needing to talk to someone isn't something to be shameful of is important.

with all of this, tarah is also able to bring an amazing sense of humor to this book. from a three legged cat, goats, ducks, and a dog the size of a horse, it brought so much joy to my reading experience. not to mention all the cringe but enjoyable puns.

overall i was very impressed and happy with how the book came to be. i did not go into this one thinking to cry but i of course did after witnessing this beautiful story. thank you netgalley for this arc <3

“𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐬.”

Tarah Dewitt's small town romance Savor It centers on the relationship between chef Fisher Lange and high school teacher Sage Byrd.

This was my first Tarah Dewitt novel, and I was let down by this. Her writing and books are just surrounded by so much hype, and although this book wasn't particularly awful, it wasn't really fantastic either.

Simply put, I wasn't into the book or the characters' chemistry. Like, there were times when I would adore Sage and Fisher together, but their interactions would never give me the all-consuming type of love.

I understand that Indy was going through a rebellious adolescent phase after losing her mother, but she was really bothersome.

However, I must admit that I really enjoyed and laughed at a lot of the scenes that involved Sage, Indy, and Fisher.

Plainly put, I felt that this novel was too simple, even though the small town trope and each character was amazing.

I’m going to spend my hour in therapy this week talking about all the feelings I just felt.
This is not an inherently sad book. It’s funny and sweet and perfect but the writing is so emotional, the story is so beautiful, it brought me tears over and over again.

I love everything about this book. It broke my heart and put it back together. Six Stars. I am unwell.

A rabid vacuum
Lots of adorable farm animals
A goose imprinting on a teenager
Small town shenanigans
A library scene that will have you giggling and kicking your feet (actually two of those)
So. Many. Dick jokes.

This is a solid 3.5 star read. How do you process pain of loss? How do you deal with gaining custody of your niece? How do you find joy? All these question can be answered with moving to Spunes, Oregon and meeting Sage who is focused on the positive and finding happiness. She has a unique set of pets/farm that just make you want to aw. There's romance and humor just what is needed for a solid read.

Another hit for me from Tarah DeWitt! I love this book from start to finish!

Sage and Fisher were everything and more! From the moment they met to all the ups and downs that came with their relationship, I was hooked! Plus add in some fun farm animals, a moody teenager and a lot of small town gossip its bound to be a hit!!

Tarah DeWitt is a go to buy for me with everything she released!

Absolutely amazing. Tarah makes you feel every emotion in this book. You feel invested in every character’s life- from Fisher and Sage all the way down to Gary the goose. I can’t wait to be back in the world of Spunes in future books

Right off the bat I was hooked by Tarah DeWitt's extremely clever writing! She had me cackling and kicking my feet at times, especially with the banter between the two main characters Sage and Fisher.

I absolutely *adorered* these two!!! Fisher and Sage have SUCH good rapport with each other. I love their banter and their budding feelings don't feel rushed in any way. So often in rom-coms the pace is off whether it be too insta-love or a painfully slow burn (which, don't get me wrong I love a slow burn but ya gotta breadcrumb me a bit a long the way!). This was just so so well paced.

I legit sobbed for the last half of the book on and off. It tackles grief and the loss of a loved one in a very raw and relatable way. The author does a beautiful job of weaving laughter and poignancy seamleslessy into the story.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

The best word to describe a Tarah DeWitt book is "cozy". I always feel like I'm being wrapped up in a big hug. I also absolutely love the maturity that her characters display. These two were so wholesome and adorable and spicy and I just loved everything about it. I did think it was slow in the middle but I loved the ending and was not prepared for the tears that I shed over these two characters. Can I petition for a Wren and Ellis second chance romance next?

I finished Savor It by Tarah DeWitt yesterday and adored it! This is my first by her and I will definitely be picking up her others soon. This book has a cute small-town setting, rambunctious animals (my fav!), and the two leads (Fischer and Sage) are so lovable. The progression of their relationship was so swoony and their chemistry was off the charts. 🔥 I love that Fischer was a chef. The food descriptions were amazing and made me hungry!

My contemporary romance fans need to grab this one when it comes out on May 21st. You are going to LOVE it!

It was a fun read. However, I feel like there were many plot lines which made it feel like they did not get developed well. One big one was Fisher and Indy’s relationship. It seems like it should have been a significant plot point but most of the details were brushed over and just got wrapped up with a happy ending with no big development. Without spoiling anything, there seemed to be several others where the build up/event itself seemed significant but when the climax came- it came and went quickly.

4.5 stars!
wow where do I even starrrrrrt. I loved this book so much.
I think it ripped apart of my soul out. Fisher and Sage's love story was everything.
I did feel like the beginning was a lilittle slow and had me wondering when it was going to pick up and that's the only reason this isn't a 5 star for me.

2.5?? 😅 I tried really hard to get into this and I wanted to like it but it didn’t happen. I liked the characters and the idea! Small town girl with a random animals and a garden + big city chef taking care of his teenage niece.. it had potential!!! I could tell the author was trying to get us to feel something but it just didn’t quite hit me right. There was sooo much extra stuff and not enough dialogue. Not an easy read for me! I liked her other books though and would try again in the future.

I was excited to read this one because I have heard such good things about the author however it didn’t work for me. There was not enough dialogue and too much random sideline stuff going on to be able to emotionally connect to the characters or story line. I felt like I didn’t understand the purpose and just wanted to skim until the two main characters were interacting.
I will say I have seen raving reviews so I would still read if the plot interests or if you are a fan of the author.

I don’t know if I can explain how much I loved this book. I related so much to the fmc, Sage, that it made it a somewhat emotional read, I ugly cried a couple times yet also was laughing out loud. Tarah Dewitt has such a unique way of storytelling, I was immediately sucked in. The characters and plot were unique and (again) relatable and you could truly feel their raw emotions as if you were right there with them experiencing everything.

Please tell me there are some interconnected books coming after this, because I would love to go back to the small town of Spunes, Oregon! I’m already thinking up HEAs for the side characters!

This was my first book by this author and it won’t be my last! I adored falling in love with Sage and Fisher in Spunes. We got a small town romance with an expiration date. He is a chef, only there for the summer to try and get back on his feet after he loses his job and his Michelin star in NY. She has a small life she loves and doesn’t want to leave her farm or her animals. They know it can’t last, but they can’t help but fall anyway. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time.

I loved the forced proximity of them being neighbors, and that they are also training for the town race together. It was a slow burn with some open door spice. The romance was so natural, and pulled you in with the strong emotions of the characters. They both knew they could get hurt if they gave into their feelings and had to separate at the end of the summer, but they also wanted to try and find some bit of happiness for themselves in the present. I loved the theme of staying grounded in the present and living for the moment, because you never know what the future holds.

There was so much acknowledgement of trauma and loss and also healing from it as well. I loved the mental heath normalization in this and the openness of talking about therapy. Fisher lost his sister and so he is also taking care of his niece Indy and adjusting to a new role of being a guardian. Sage had also lost her parents at a young age and has her own hardships from growing up being raised by her brothers. Grief and loss were prominent themes that was handled so well in the book.

Also, did you know Geese mate for life? I do now, and I know that reading about a goose being depressed because his person leaves is what made me cry the most in this book! All the animal companions in this book were such a big part of the story that I fell in love with them all too.

I was a big fan of Funny Feelings, so I was really looking forward to this book. In some ways, it delivered— I loved Sage, and the small town feel, and of course Fisher. I was a little distracted by the double earrings because that’s not my cup of tea, but I was able to overlook it. I also always like an “accidental parent” story- meaning one of the characters inherits a kid they didn’t plan on. However, I do think in this book the author tried to do a little too much out side of the development of the romance- between the festival, all the canoeing and running, the niece and nephew, the sister-in-law and brother-in-law thing…. I’m thinking that maybe she is trying to set up a sequel or two? I just found a lot of it distracting. I would have liked more of the focus on the relationship. That being said, if there WAS a sequel, I would read it. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the e-arc.

Uuuugh Tarah’s books are just the best. I am never able to put into words how much I love her stories and writing. They make me feel so many things. Her characters are flawed and perfect. She writes with so much wisdom and advice I always feel like I left great therapy session.

You know a book will be good when it starts off with a banging playlist! This was my first Tarah DeWitt and I don't think it will be my last. It was cute and spicy. I really loved the small town vibe and setting. The dual POV is also the best. I would love a book with the other characters!

I was so wholeheartedly impressed with this read that I am now on a mission to fall down a Tarah Dewitt rabbit hole. I love that the plot was relatable so that you could connect on any given level. There were no outlandish struggles, no over the top issues, just straight forward and well lived experiences to dig yourself into. And the romance? TOP NOTCH. I was giggling and kicking my little feet constantly. The spice? It was everything I could want. Everything was so immersive and beautifully described that I was a blushing fool even now, hours after finishing. This currently is amongst my top 2 contemporary romance novels. All I have to say is...for the love of god...GIVE ME A SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE FOR ELLIS AND WREN. I need more of Spunes. I need more of it all!

Thank you, NetGalley, for this amazing ARC read!
