Oh, boy! I loved this book so much, and I enjoyed every second of it!
Fisher and Sage, a duo that's just irresistibly adorable. Fisher's grumpy pirate vibe perfectly complements Sage's absolute joy for the little things in life. In this slow-burn love story, their communication is just chef's kiss — a testament to the beauty of a healthy relationship that keeps you turning the pages. And let's not forget Fisher's heartwarming relationship with his niece, witnessing their healing and growth together. Life lessons are seamlessly woven into the narrative, making this book a delightful package.
This gem of a book offers everything you could wish for: A+ side characters, swoony romance, and yes, tiny goats! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC; mark your calendars for May 21st if you're a fan of small-town romance, single dads (guardians), grumpy/sunshine dynamics, fake dating, and themes of grief and healing.
Enter Sage Byrd, the vivacious and eccentric female lead who breathes life into every moment. Her ability to find beauty in the ordinary is truly inspiring. On the other side, Fisher, equally lovable in his own way, tenderly navigates his relationship with Sage and works hard to be a good parent to his teenage niece.
But it's not just about the main characters; the supporting cast turns a small town into a home. The setting of Spunes, Oregon, is so enchanting that you'll find yourself wishing it were real. Tarah's writing skillfully blends romance with anxiety, grief, and acceptance, creating an enjoyable and emotionally resonant read.
Fisher and Sage are characters you'll fall in love with — Fisher, the hot, sad boy with trauma and an earring, and Sage, the girl-next-door with heartbreak and childhood loss. Their interactions, from heartfelt to spicy, showcase a deep connection that unfolds beautifully.
Tarah DeWitt's writing is pure magic, reaching into the reader's psyche and bringing forth thoughts often left unexplored. "Savor It" is a testament to her brilliance, offering a lighthearted and swoony read that tugs at your heartstrings. The banter, tension, humor, small-town charm, and diverse characters make it a memorable experience.
From Sage and Fisher's delightful banter to the dual POV, Sage's brothers, the humor, Fisher's charm, and the small-town atmosphere reminiscent of Stars Hollow, every element is finely crafted. Even the ending is a beautiful conclusion that stays true to the characters.
Though the pacing caught me off guard at times, it's a minor hiccup in a book that otherwise deserves all the stars. Tarah DeWitt has yet again delivered a story that pulls you into a world you won't want to leave, with characters you'll want as friends — or maybe even want to be.
Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press/ St. Martin's Griffin for sharing this amazing book's digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest opinions.

Small town romance? Say less.
I'll read anything Tarah DeWitt writes, so I'm incredibly grateful to have received this ARC.
Sage is a local to Spunes...a teacher who has several farm animals and an impressive garden. Fisher is a NYC chef, one who had a Michelin star taken away, and recently became a guardian to his niece, Indy. Fisher doesn't like small towns, since he grew up in one, but gets sent to Spunes to kick-start a new restaurant. Honestly, the restaurant portion was very glossed over and it was something I was hoping would be a focal point to the story.
Fisher and Indy move next door? across the field? from Sage. There's a meet cute with a roomba and a goose that imprints on Indy. Fisher and Sage team up...he tests dishes on Sage (since she's a local and locals would make up for the bulk of the restaurant's business). And Sage ropes Fisher into competing in the annual festival (that's rigged for locals to win, even though it's their biggest source of tourism every year).
In the end, I give it 3.75 stars. I loved the premise. It just felt disjointed. The pacing seemed off and the first half of the book dragged on to me. However I hope Tarah makes a return to Spunes, where we read about Wren and Ellis. Those two piqued my interest from the very beginning of the book.

First, I need more with Sage’s brothers (and Ellis and Wren). But I enjoyed Sage and Fishers love story, the small town fun and that Fisher is raising his niece. The book was really slow the first 65% or so, and finally caught up; it was really wordy at times. Fisher goes to Spurs after being fired to help open a new restaurant and try to get his Michelin star chef job back. He teams up with neighbor Sage to get the town on his side and help her win their annual festival competition.

😭 please this was such a wholesome read, I'm melting at the sweetness
This is a summer fling (turned forever??) romance, and the relationship growth between the MCs is super sweet and adorable. I also loved all the farm animals and the characters' love for them, and I loved the background side plots going on.
ALSO, the third act makeup is the cutest ever 😭
TWs - death of parents (past), characters who are orphaned as kids, stigma against out-of-towners in a small town in a way that actively affects a person/family's livelihood
-- ty to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy!

I literally finished this book in one sitting! I want to start by saying the cover art is gorgeous! It really drew me into the book. I would of loved to see one of Sage's funky shirts on her though! My only complaint is the first chapter, it really did not draw me in. It did great setting up the main character and a little of her life, but it was just lacking at pulling me in. But by chapter 3, I was hooked! This was such a quirky and fun small town romance read, but it also had its healing and sentimental moments. This book had me giggling, smirking, and getting teared up. The characters were very well written and their immediate chemistry can be felt through the pages.

I am participating in the St Martin’s Press boycott. I will not publicly be reviewing this title until St. Martin’s Press addresses reader concerns.

Let me start by saying I devoured this book more then savored it..*wink wink* I read it in like a day, it was so good! The banter was so good 👌🏻 the tension and the chemistry between Sage and Fischer was top tier I was kicking my feet reading it. Like right at the beginning when Sage distracted Indy by handing her a goose had me dying, a goose?! There is also a quick blink and you'll miss it "Funny Feelings" reference in there too. Without giving too much away since this was an ARC (thanks Tarah DeWitt and Netgalley) I really just enjoyed this book, it was sweet, swoon and had me tearing up near the end there. Definitely 10/10 read! (Side note: I ONLY pictured Pedro Pascal as Fischer idk maybe that was just me)

3.5 stars!! this book was cute! i do think i was feeling a little bored, the chapters were really long and i feel like there was a lot of added on stuff that didn't need to be there! Other then that i really enjoyed this book!

Tarah DeWitt did it again - another 5 star read.
Savor it had me laughing one page and sobbing the next...actually I don't think I stopped crying during the last 25% - it was the sweetest ending to a sad story of two broken people. I felt for Sage, I was rooting for Fisher & Indy, I lived for the dumb jokes and witty writing.
I absolutely cannot wait for this release and will be adding a physical copy to my shelves.

Savor It by Tarah Dewitt is a book full of small-town charm and a story I didn't want to end.
The female main character, Sage Byrd, was so wonderfully alive and eccentric. I adored everything about her and found myself wishing I could step into her life. The way she found beauty in everyday moments and kept her heart open was so inspiring. The male main character, Fisher, was equally lovable in a different way. He was so tender and honest with Sage, and also worked so hard to be a good parent to his teenage niece.
Besides the two perfectly imperfect main characters, this book was full of a supporting cast of all the people who make a small town feel like home.
Also, it's rare for me to find a book in which I love the setting and characters, usually one grabs hold of me more than the other, but this book boasted both. More than once, I found myself wishing the town of Spunes, Oregon was an actual place so I could pack up and move there. Maybe I just wanted to be Sage, living in a farmhouse with a motley collection of adorable animals, tending a beautiful garden, and receiving support from all the loyal members of the community.
This was an enjoyable read from beginning to end!
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

this is set in a small town, great characters and setting. it was hard to put down. read in two days,

This was amazing. Incredibly witty and sweet, while also packing an emotional punch. I was giggling and kicking my feet through most of it. Not only were Sage and Fisher endearing and super fun to read about, the side characters were also great. Sage's myriad of animal friends had more personality than some protagonists in other novels. The characters are great, and the plot actually makes sense - all the conflict in this book felt real and not like something the author threw in to switch things up at the end. Please pick this up!!
Also, can I just say, as a woman who was once a 13 year old girl who fell in love with Twilight and decided I needed to one day live in Forks, reading about a town in the Pacific Northwest named Spunes was so comforting. No supernatural elements, just small town vibes and a healthy amount of Twilight references.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly it's difficult to put into words how much Tarah's writing affected me, but I will try my hardest! This is another brilliant foray of hers into romance with a hearty dash of anxiety, grief, and acceptance. I adored every second of it, and actually took my sweet time reading because I didn't want it to ever end. Like Fisher, I needed to savor it completely.
Fisher and Sage are such real characters, and so lovable in such different ways. Fisher is the epitome of the hot sad boy with trauma and (an earring), and Sage is the town's girl-next-door with heartbreak and childhood loss in her rearview. The two compliment each other in ways they don't understand at first, but with every interaction, every time Sage disarms Fisher's wariness of strangers, it becomes wholly clear that these two are meant to be together. They share heartfelt, heartbreaking, hilarious, and heartily spicy (not really an h-word for spicy) moments and I could not love them more.
With Tarah's writing I often feel as if she's reached deep within my psyche and pulled thoughts to the surface that I normally choose to avoid, rather than grapple with. Through her magic, and seeing these thoughts played out by fictional characters so beautifully, I feel like I understand and appreciate myself more and more with each book she writes. And Savor It is no exception.

Savor It is my third book read by Tarah DeWitt and I’ve decided that she’s an auto-buy, auto-read author for me. While this will not replace Funny Feelings as my favorite, it’s high on my list of books that I love.
I love how real and relatable that Tarah writes her characters - Fisher was the perfect grump and Sage was the perfect sunshine. I felt Fisher’s emotions as he processed the loss of his sister, a new guardian, and career struggles. I loved Sage’s energy as she literally gave no f’s and instead focused on what brought her happiness.
I loved that their relationship was not insta-love but instead developed as they got to know each other. I also loved that all of the animals in the book had their own personality that really added to the story.
Tarah’s stories are full of emotion & relatable characters and I will always fully recommend them.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

3.5⭐️ this was not a bad book by any means but there were a lot of small things that detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book. For example, the names of all the animals were hard to keep track of. I also found the festival competition to be a boring plot line and the third act breakup lacked some tension. I also wanted more chef stuff. However there were some things I really enjoyed. I think many authors gloss over the trauma the child must have endured when writing a single guardian romance. Dewitt does a great job making Indy a complex fleshed out character. She was my personal favorite

This was a very emotional filled story. All though there was a lot of deep story development there was also a lot of fun banter, quirk and happy moments too. I really enjoyed how much we got to know all the quirky residents of Spunes. It was so nice watching Fisher and his niece’s relationship grow and strengthen. Sage was such a fun FMC who knew what she wanted. Their chemistry was sizzling. It was such a sweet summertime love story!
I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

Tarah Dewitt did it again...she made me fall in love with fictional people. ❤️ Sage and Fisher were so well drawn, both their flaws and their beauty. Dewitt has a unique ability to tell a story about people I feel like I have met in real life, and yet there is still that ever-important tension that comes with really well-written romances. I genuinely cannot wait to read Dewitt's next book. She makes the reader feel like this kind of love might just be possible for everyone.

I absolutely loved this! "Savor It" was my first Tarah DeWitt book and it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. It was so sweet and tender, and I loved the characters so much. The conflicts and plot felt well-developed and it had a great balance of sweetness and spicier romantic scenes. The banter between the characters was so much fun and there were tons of little moments that had me giggling and kicking my feet. Can’t wait to read all of Tarah’s back catalogue!

Tarah deserves every single praise for this. Freaking PERFECTION. 10/10. This was just so so good. I couldn’t get enough of it and wanted a thousand more pages of this.

THIS BOOK!!!! I don't even know where to start because it was THAT good. Tarah DeWitt has a way with words and storytelling. Each book she writes just grips my heart and doesn't let go, and this one is no exception. In fact, I think it might be my favorite book she's written....maybe. Sage and Fisher!! Sage! And! Fisher! Both are such strong characters on their own, but when they come together and grow and learn and fall in love, OMG I was crying. It was the sweetest, most powerful story of love and meeting your people. The whole town of Spunes has my heart forever and forever, and I hope that we get more stories from Tarah about the small town (PLEASE GIVE US ELLIS & WREN PLEASE). The storyline was unique and entertaining and will tug at your heart strings. Indy, Fisher's niece, is the perfect sassy teenager. She made me laugh so many times, and honestly, it was SO sweet to watch her overcome her own struggles too. This book has my whole heart, and I can't wait to actually hold it in my hands.
