I loved this book! I was so excited to read it when I read the description and it did not disappoint!

Sage was just the right amount of quirky with all her adopted pets and silly puns. Fisher’s honesty and emotional intelligence made him one of my favorite book boyfriends. I loved the two of them together. Their energy and giddiness together was infectious and had me smiling stupidly through the whole book.

On top of that, I enjoyed the cozy feel of the setting and the differing personalities of all the side characters. I appreciated the more realistic telling of a small town romance. I liked the side characters so much, I’m really hoping we’ll get more of them in another book. I want to know more about Ellis and Wren!

I highly recommend this book, especially if you’re looking for a small town romance. I’ve liked all of Tarah Dewitt’s books, with Funny Feelings being in my top 10 favorites, and I liked this one just as much. I definitely plan to buy this when it comes out and try the audiobook.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the ARC!

I truly was obsessed with this romance while reading. Something about this book feels so real and natural in a way I do not always experience in books. The way Fisher and Sage fell into love was slow, sweet, and simmering. The cast of animals was excellent and I love the why they both were trying their best with Indy. I loved Sage’s brothers and only hope we see more of them. I didn’t really care for the competition aspect, it was slightly half baked I felt. As well as the ex boyfriend of it all. Those two things just felt not fully fleshed out and less interesting when there was so much else to love that I would’ve rather read more about. give us more foodie moments, more Indy, more brothers, more of the way Fisher was entranced by Sage, more of the ways she loved Fisher through all his thought of shortcomings. I just loved the way this book made me feel which I think is the highest of compliments. Hoping to be back in this world again!

I laughed, I cried and just had an all around good time. This is my first Tarah DeWitt book and I am now a convert.

I will always love a small town romance. This one had it all: a quirky FMC who is beloved by all, the ex you want to punch, the slightly broody out of towner with trauma to overcome, the nosy townies, and of course the lovable teenager who ends up being the voice of reason in the end.

Fisher may be one of the healthiest MMC's to exist. the man goes to therapy for crying out loud! If that isn't a green flag than I don't know what it. He also openly communicates his feelings and does not beat around the bush, therefore avoiding that pesky miscommunication trope. He is so gone for Sage almost immediately. He is a voice of reason for her and a rock. It doesn't hurt that the man is also sexy as hell and can cook! The way that he just wants Indy to be happy to make up for his past mistakes with her is so touching. He is willing to give up the love of his life so that his niece will be happy. While it is obviously frustrating when reading, it is also admirable and selfless.

Sage is a quirky, lovable ball of sunshine with a literal zoo of animals. All of her interaction with them had me laughing, especially when she tried to convince Fisher to make sure she did not adopt what she didn't need (ps. he failed). Sage has a dark past with the passing of both parents at a young age as well as her ex dumping her and immediately dating an old friend. Even with that trauma, she still always has a smile on her face. I love what she said about the impermanence of life and to live each day to the fullest. She helped Fisher find his spark and creativity again through tactful ways by just making him feel useful.

Indy is the teenage angst that is present in every book. I was absolutely dying when she had her realization about needing to go back to small town life because of the guilt she felt about the goose mating with her. Watching her relationship with Fisher grow was something truly special.

I really would love a book on Ellis and Wren. I am thinking second chance romance because there is still something there and I have too many unanswered questions. Plus, I need to see a married Sage and Fisher.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for this arc in a digital review copy in exchange for my honest thoughts!

This book was so good. Tarah DeWitt's books will hit you in heart, straight to all the feels. But it's the best. This story is emotional-it was sweet, it was funny, it was deep. The characters were so easy to identify with. The backstory, the connection, the ups and downs, it all felt so relatable and REAL. I love a good billionaire romance as much as the next girl, but there is something about a book like this where the experiences, thought processes, and journey of the main characters- both individually and together-feels like something you would hear from a friend or go through yourself. It makes you appreciate the more subtle romance journey versus the loud gestures. I definitely recommend that everyone check this out when it releases in May. You'll fall in love with Sage, Fisher, Ivy, the animals, and Spunes!

Recently I read this ARC and days later I’m still thinking about it!! Set in Spunes, Oregon (not Forks, WA) neighbors Sage and Fisher find themselves helping each other out, in more ways than one 😏

Quite literally one of the best romances I’ve ever read and definitely one of my favorite reads EVER. I don’t always laugh out loud when I read but this one had me giggling and laughing out loud multiple times. I’m in loveeee with Fisher (who is a chef!!!!) I’m so invested in Sage and Fisher and Indy and Sam and the rest of the Spunes crew, including but not limited to the geese and goats. Still currently crying over the end of this story 🥹

Out May 21, 2024 ✨ preorder and add to your TBR now because you truly won’t want to miss it! 💕

** thanks to NetGalley and St Martins for the ARC and chance to read and review.. and especially thanks to queen Tarah Dewitt herself for writing this gem **

This was such a cute, swoon worthy grumpy x sunshine romance! It follows a disgraced chef and his niece trying to set up a new restaurant and a teacher with a love for animals and flower farming and their summer together. I thought this was so cute, and kinda want more romance from the other characters of Spunes, Oregon!

Tarah’s ability to take emotionally messy imperfect characters and make them relatable and endearing. While also simultaneously showing us a little bit of ourselves in every single character.

Small town romance feels so simple on the surface and yet Savor It has so much depth (basically Sage in a nutshell). I’ve come to realize, this is why I love Tarah’s books. They’re full of imperfect people and she shows us we deserve all the love despite our flaws. Maybe even because of them.

Savor It has all the things we love about a small town romance; this time with added animal ridiculousness. It’s weird in the best way. The banter hits. The jokes are funny. Fisher is swoon worthy. I want to be Sage when I grow up. I could go on and on.

When you are compiling your Best of 2023 lists and your Most Anticipated of 2024 - make sure this book is on the latter.

With a publication date of May 21, 2024, this book is perfectly set for a spring release. The Pacific Northwest summer setting, surroundings full of lush flowers and plant life, farm animal side characters, and enough discussion of food to make your mouth water - these all lend themselves to a perfect late spring/early summer romance.

In many contemporary romance books, the FMC is the one that is emotionally struggling, going through immense life changes, and dealing with the emotional and mental impacts that they have. In this book, while the FMC certainly has had many life-altering events, the MMC is the one with current and prevalent mental and emotional struggles. It was interesting to see the FMC play the more supportive role, and I quite enjoyed the flip.

Other aspects I quite enjoyed - the infrequent use of pet names, humor without being cringy, open communication, and side characters with their own development and growth.

(4.5 stars rounded up)

It took me a minute to get into this book but I ended up enjoying it. There was a good and deep connection between Fisher and Sage. I enjoyed the realism of the characters struggles but also the added comedy. This made it a well rounded romance. I also enjoyed the side characters as well, they helped in the development of the story.

This book had me in a chokehold! It was so good. And so different, while still being so similar to Tarah's other work. This is something I absolutely love about her writing...the way the characters all feel like they could know each other, but they don't, and how everything feels the same, but also not. I'm terrible at describing it, but I adored everything about this one. From the "sage advice" moments to the goose, to the way it ended and the library and the competition.

I only have a couple little nit picks and they're so small as to not really matter and are just personal wishes...the book is perfect regardless.

I wish we'd seen more of his niece and him interacting positively. And I wish we'd gotten some resolution to Wren and Ellis...but I know that's not how the real world is so my little heart can just keep wanting what it wants.

I cannot WAIT to purchase this one in audio, print and Kindle. It was adorable, lovely, steamy, and thought provoking. I'm so grateful to have read it.

I loved this book!
Tarah DeWitt is slowly but surely becoming a staple author for me!
I loved the characters, the plot, and the setting, however, the pacing felt a little off to me. Other than that, I have no complaints!

This is Tarah’s best yet. It was so tender. The writing was beautiful, and I sobbed the last 20% of it.

Wow this book was so damn cute. I've only read two books by Tarah (Funny Feelings and Savor it) and both had me giggling and smiling until the very end. I can't wait to dive into her other books now that I know I love her writing style.

Fischer and Sage were such beautiful characters individually and some how even more enchanting together. The spark between them was felt so clearly and the journey Tarah took us on made every moment, every interaction so full. There were no wasted moments or scenes in my opinion. I would label this book as a slow burn but nothing felt slow about it. Fischer and Sage's romance was such a fun ride. I also sometimes feel like fake dating can be a bit corny so I LOVED that that actually didn't end up being the main trope for long? Not a total spoiler but a turn in direction that I think really strengthened their love story.

One thing I love about Tarah's characters is that they are honest about their emotions and pretty emotionally mature when it comes to expressing how they feel. They may feel hesitant to share at first but eventually they just speak from their heart even if it's from a place of "I love you but I have no idea how this will end and that scares the shit out of me". SO REFRESHING!! Just two grown adults being grown adults we love it. Also Fisher's confession to Sage?!?! Ughhh it reminded me of how much my heart burst when Meyer confessed how he feels to Farley in Funny Feelings. Love me a MMC who is direct and gentle with their communication.

The side characters were all great additions with their own storylines as well. Indy felt like a very real teenager grieving and seeing her journey and growth with herself and Fischer was beautiful as well. I do want to book a flight to Nebraska and fight everyone in that fictional small town though. Sage and her brothers added some humor to the story. I liked that they were woven throughout the book in intimate ways vs. just meeting them and them having little to no part in the remainder of the story.

I think I read that there will be more books in this universe and I honestly can't wait!! I'm hoping there will be a second chance romance with a particular couple but I guess I will let this book launch before I get too ahead of myself.

Highly recommend this book. It was just so damn cute and honestly came to me at the perfect time. So much advice and wisdom that went straight to the heart.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the eARC!

Many thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for an arc of this book.

This book is so cute and is officially my second favorite romance coming out in 2024. In this book we are following the story of Sage and Fisher. Sage is a high school social studies teacher who is helping her next door neighbors rent out their home from June to August. Fisher is a chef who was recently fired and is sent to Sage's hometown to help create a menu for the new restaurant. Fisher is also the guardian for his teenage niece Indy. Sage meets Fisher after her brothers, who are the local police, come to his rental when he accidentally calls the police about a robot vacuum. This is definitely a small town romance. Sage sets out to change Fisher's mind about small towns and even enlists his and Indy's help with her animals. Sage's goose Gary gets attached to Indy and will not leave her alone. Sage and Fisher team up for the canoe race that is held every year. Sage and Fisher go up against Sage's ex, the town golden boy who gets engaged a year after they break up. Sage and Fisher start a friends with benefits relationship that quickly turns into something more. Sage shows Fisher how great small town live can be and takes him to the library and all her favorite places. Fisher ends up leaving at the end of the summer but both him and Indy miss Sage and Gary the goose. A year later Fisher moves in with Sage and even is working at the new restuarant and Sage is starting a flower business. Fisher at the very end plans to propose to Sage. This book is so cute and I loved every minute of it. The minute this book becomes available I will be getting my copy for sure. You do not want to miss this. I also loved how Fisher would cook for Sage and want to help her even though she has gotten used to doing things herself. It is just the cutest book.

I think that the best books has a perfect balance of warm fuzzies and cold scratchies. This book definitely had the perfect balance. I cried, I kicked my feet, I cried some more, and was just so giddy. I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Small town romances with quirky town traditions give such Gilmore girls energy and i love Gilmore girls. My heart just feels so happy right now.

I love tarah's writing and I was so excited to read this book! I'll admit its my least favorite out of the 3 due to pacing issues. I wish it didn't take half of the book just for the plot to start. Fisher is a really sweet mmc, I loved the setting and their pure connection. I still recommend for people who love small town sweet romance, but this just wasn't my favorite book of hers. I recieved an arc from netgalley.

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Savor It by Tarah DeWitt is about Fisher who is a Michelin star chef from NYC and has custody of his 16 year old niece, when he feels like everything is falling apart and his boss sends him packing across the country to small town Spune, Oregon to help build another restaurant, when he rents a house next door to Sage, the town sweetheart and nice girl, and they train for the end of town canoe race together.

I really loved this one! It had a lot of really good tropes, and I felt like Fisher and Sage’s connection was evident. I loved all the side characters like Fisher’s niece and Sage’s bestie and brothers. The small town portion was adorable and I loved picturing them all coming together for the festival.

However, my critiques in this book were that Fisher and Sage strike up a deal to have her help him improve his image for the town, and I feel like they… didn’t really do anything to improve it, it just happened. Additionally, it seemed like neither of them really worked like, maybe I didn’t understand this but halfway through the novel I wasn’t even so sure what Sage’s job WAS, so that just didn’t feel too realistic for me.

However, I feeeeel like there’s room for a spin-off here, (cough cough, Ellis and Wren) so Tarah don’t disappoint me!!!!!

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

This book had everything I want in a good romance-grumpyXsunshine, small town, cute critters, and all the FEELINGS! Sage and Fisher grew so much! Savor It dealt with grief and love, but it was so much richer! Learning that there’s more after loss and failure. It’s okay to feel what you feel. It’s okay to be you and that you’re worthy, despite how others may view you. Love a life that’s worth living to you. And I could go on and on! This is a book I’ll revisit!

I laughed. I cried. I swooned. I cried tears of joy. I feel like a lot of the time the stand alone rom com type books feel…. Surface level? If that makes sense. I love them. But it takes a special writer to create depth of characters and relationships in under 350 pages and I have felt that in this book! Very Emily Henry of her.
Loved everything about these characters and I’m going to miss them.
