This was my second Tarah DeWitt novel and by far my favorite! What a wonderful romance where the characters were matched perfectly. The banter between the two was adorable and funny. Fisher and Sage are currently my favorite friends to lovers couple. I was cheering and excited when Indie came around. This is a gem of a book. I adored it.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martins Press for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Immediately upon opening this book, I fell in love with how cozy it is!

It’s very easy to tell that Savor It takes place in a small town. The cast of characters we meet soon after beginning the book are close, part of a tight-knit community you can feel through the pages. Combined with our teacher/farmer main character, this book felt like the perfect cozy story!

The main point to Savor It, or the lesson the characters are portraying to readers, is that life is too short and beyond our control to not enjoy the small things in life. In every aspect of the story, as Fisher and Indy fall in love with this community, they’re learning how to find their place in the world and how to slow down to enjoy the little things around them. Paired with the “will they or won’t they” romance between Fisher and Sage, it was easy to fall in love with the small details of this story and enjoy the ride!

My absolute favorite part of this book, however, was the relationship between Indy and Sage’s goose. It’s weird to describe in a book review where I’m trying not to give out spoilers for the book, but seeing Indy learn to care for that crazy bird throughout the course of this book was a great pairing to Fisher finding the things (and people…) he loved in the town.

That being said, there were some times in this book where I was a bit bored. While I enjoyed the writing style and highlighted a lot of fun lines on my kindle, there were moments where I had to put this book down and do something else, my mind drifting away from the story to find some other sort of amusement.

But I did enjoy this story when all was said and done, and I actually cried twice during my reading of it (I’m an easy crier), which helps show that I really did care for these characters and their story! I can’t help but look fondly back at Savor It, and I’m sure anyone who picks this book up will enjoy it as well!

This was the first book I’ve read from Tarah Dewitt and I am definitely a fan! I’m going to have to make my way through her backlist.

Sage and Fisher were such an amazing couple. Their relationship a slow burn that cranks up to a fiery sizzle with banter for days that was just *chef kiss*. The way they could be vulnerable and real with each other was perfect. How they rescue and push each other while also respecting boundaries and allowing the other the space to grow. I just loved them both, as individuals and even moreso together.

Honestly, I just absolutely loved this book. The only reason for the half star deduction is around the 3/4 mark a weird lull hit that took me out of the story for a minute. However I was able to get back into it at the ending and still finished the book with a smile on my face.

Thank you SMP Romance and Netgalley for my review copy in an exchange for an honest review!

I LOVED THIS BOOK. I am so glad that I give authors another chance (was unfortunately not the biggest fan of Funny Feelings) when I am interested in a description, because this is my favorite contemporary romance I have read this year. This book is for readers who adore small town antics, finding your passion again after career burnout, grumpy/sunshine dynamics, and fake dating. This book deals with depictions of grief in a very real but not overly heavy way. Overall, this was such a good book I found myself delaying reading the ending. It is definitely one I'll be buying a copy of!!

Wasn’t a fan of this one sadly! there was nothing really exciting or gripping about it. Very much a pass

Thank you to Tarah DeWitt, St. Martin's Griffin, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved this one so much. The writing was so good. The imagery made me feel like I was watching a movie.

I really liked Sage and Fisher. The banter was off the charts. Plus it has animals. And who doesn't love animals?

I loved this book! I will definitely be reading more books by Tarah DeWitt!

Sage is a small town girl that has gone through a recent breakup. When her grumpy new neighbor agrees to help her make her ex jealous, feelings start to grow.

Fisher is a big city chef that's come to town to establish a new restaurant. He is also benefiting from this fake dating relationship because it allows him to ask Sage what she thinks will go over well in the new restaurant. By befriending Sage, it also helps him grow closer to his adopted niece, who's mother died years earlier. Their relationship is strained, and Sage is the perfect companion to both of them.

If you love banter, and you love spice, you'll love this book! The characters were so lovable and this book had so many of my favorite tropes!

I absolutely adored this book! I love how this book highlights simple joys; small towns, good food, friendship, laughter, nature, and pets. This book made me want to sit back and savor my life. I also adored the love story. I love when you can feel the intimacy jump off the pages and that's what happened with Savor It. You felt Fisher and Sage's friendship and love grow and that made the ending feel so worthwhile and fulfilling. Tarah's writing is also so witty and funny, I could read anything she wrote.

I had a really fun time with the audiobook. It was funny, heart touching, and sweet. This was my first read from Tarah Dewitt, and I need to read more of her books.

Sage just broke up with her ex-boyfriend of 5 years, and with her living in a small town, makes it even harder. Fisher is new in town with his niece. He lost his job as a chef in a Michelin restaurant, and is now his niece's guardian. The relationship buildup of Sage and Fisher was quite slow, but I love the growth of it.

I totally recommend it!!

I cried, I gushed, I freaking LOVED this book. I also loved Tarah's other books (Funny Feelings- heyyyy!)
We have grumpy x sunshine meets small-town romance and I couldn't help but get completely invested in Sage and Fisher's swoon-worthy love. Sage is dealing with small-town drama and falls for the new, NYC chef in town. The catch? He's only there temporarily.
Fisher is responsible for his niece after his sister dies (off-page) and is trying to juggle parenthood with a career. I loved Fisher's POV -he def fell harder (IMO). The banter and love is * chef's kiss*. This book also explores grief, self-discovery, and finding 'your people.' Perfect for fans of Sarah Adams and B.K. Borison, it's a must-read summer read. Thank you, Tarah, for this phenomenal read!

Will post my full review once St. Martin's Press addresses the boycott. The ongoing boycott is a result of SMP's lack of accountability regarding derogatory statements from a SMP marketing employee and their lack of response to the systemic issues in the imprint. SMP's silence has been very loud, and had I know about the boycott before choosing this book, I would not have requested an arc copy. Now, I will only release my true feelings when SMP breaks its silence.

I really enjoyed Savor It! It was a little hard to get into at first because of all the names of the animals and townspeople. I got her brothers confused a lot throughout the story. One of my favorite parts of the story was the niece's relationship with the goose, and I loved how that played into the ending. I also really liked how there wasn't a miscommunication at the end. Instead it was circumstances that fueled the third-act break up. Really great small town feel like Gilmore Girls, with quirky characters and town events.

Thank you St. Martin's Press and Macmillan Audio for a copy of this e-arc and audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I primarily listened to the book. Karissa Vacker is one of my favorite narrators, so of course, she did a great job. The male narrator, Zachary Webber, also was good. It was easy to follow along with their voices and who was talking.

The plot had such a cute premise. All the side characters were hilarious. I also love small-town vibes in a book and the fake-dating trope. And then as I kept reading, the plot was redundant and I struggled to want to finish the book. While the characters, Sage and Fisher, on the surface were good, we really lacked depth in their connection and struggles. It felt like we glazed over them, but never dove deeper into it.

Was it a cute read? Yes.
Would I recommend romance lovers try it? Also yes.
Was it my favorite book? No, but it could be yours.

A small town girl and a new grumpy neighbor for the summer and flames ignite. From the title you would think there would be more cooking with the chef neighbor but that really was a minor part of the story. Still plenty of spice outside of the kitchen if that’s your jam. Loved the Sage advice spread theoughout and the dual POV.

I’d call this Hallmark after dark. A cute fun romance story with spice and language.

First off, gorgeous cover, right? I’m struggling how to rate this book because there were things I liked and things I didn’t. The characters are great - Fisher and Sage are wonderful, Indy and Sam are great, Sage’s brothers, the other townspeople, etc. The story overall is good and I love the relationship between Sage and Fisher. The animals at Sage’s farm are all fantastic and in my opinion they add so much color to the story. But that is where my struggle starts. There are several parts of this story that are just left undeveloped. I wasn’t a huge fan of the festival storyline, but it really gets left behind and isn’t discussed much. I wanted more from the townspeople - more interaction and character development. I wanted more of Fisher at the restaurant. More of Sage and Wren. It was like many things got started at the beginning of the book, and then it evolved into only a love story. More avenues needed to be explored here. I would definitely be interested in reading more from Tarah DeWitt in the future.

Small town girl. Big city boy. FIREWORKS.

This was a fast, fun, small town love story kind of read. Not just romantic love, but falling in love with a place and a slower way of life. I really enjoyed this one and would highly recommend it for your next beach trip.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Thank-you to Net Galley and the Publisher for an ARC of this book. *Note- I had some personal health issues to deal with so l didn't finish before it got published. However-I still want to give a review,
This is an incredible book. This book has soul and depth and I did not find it lacking for anything. The author wrote Fisher and Sage with such an emotional connection that I wept and cheered for them as I read this book.
I love that the author did not gloss over grief or other things.
We find Fisher and Sage at a crossroads in their lives (mainly career). The way the characters complimented each other in this story.
This book has small town charm and so many side characters that l'm hoping maybe someday we can visit Spunes again.

🌶️🌶️ 2/5

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Tarah DeWitt for allowing me to read this gem of a book early and share my thoughts with other readers!

So, this is the rare kind of book that completely sells you on a trope. If you have not previously been a small town romance lover, YOU WILL BE AFTER THIS. It is just that good. Truly, the pieces all come together to make this gorgeous masterpiece. The plot is beautifully simple in essence but with a subtle complexity that makes you feel like you're right in the middle of living it alongside the characters.

Each character, and I could go on forever about how much I loved each one, is so carefully and thoughtfully crafted as dynamic and captivating. You can just feel the teenage angst of Indy, the brooding mysterious air of Fisher and the sparkle of Sage's smile jump out through the pages. Nearly every single character, including the townspeople and down to each of Sage's sweet adopted fur babies had a standout personality that radiated brightly and resonated deeply with me.

Onto the spice, WHOA baby the spicy is spicing. The slow burn is immaculate, the forbidden moments are incredible and the final jump when they finally let each other in is like diving into the deep end head first and twice as consuming. It was the pinnacle of romance and passion combined as Fisher worships Sage in every way. A fair warning, you will flag and re-read these scenes. The chemistry between these two is explosive, the sparks are flying everything and it is SO DAMN GOOD! They are end goal and you can't convince me otherwise.

If you aren't sold already, and you should be, let me put this list of cute little quirks and tropes that you will never be able to see the same way again after this life changing book:

Tropes:
- Small Town Romance
- Grumpy x Sunshine
- Next Door Neighbours
- Friends to Lovers
- Fake Dating

Quirks:
- Sexually charged hide and seek under a canoe
- Kissing in the library
- Earl grey blackberry scones
- Adopting baby farm animals
- Cow print kimono
- a hilarious Sound of Music reference
- Adorable three legged cat who is obsessed with your man

Fisher, a disgruntled and temporarily disgraced chef ends up having to move with his niece who he’s now the guardian of to his nightmare, a quaint small town. He just wants to get in, get the new restaurant off the ground and earn back the trust of his employer. But his next door neighbor, Sage completely tears down his walls and has him rethinking every misconception he had about small town life. Now he’s wondering what would it be like if he wasn’t there just for the summer?

Fisher and Sage completely stole my heart. The scene with the canoe lives rent free in my head. These two complemented each other so well and were exactly what the other needed. Sage is absolutely an empath and I so admire her ability to sense what people needed and be there for them. The way she slowly got Indy and Fisher to warm up and find a path to healing from their past was so beautiful. I feel empath’s can sometimes be portrayed as doormats but Sage was the perfect example of how to be selfless and caring without being a pushover. Girl crush unlocked.

If you’re an audiobook fan I definitely recommend checking this out as a delightful small town summer read!

Funny Feelings was a favorite of mine a couple years ago and I couldn’t wait to read this one!

I’ve been reading all the small town romances lately. I’m obsessed! This gave me all the summer cozy vibes. If you like a hallmark romance but want a little more spice this is def up your alley.

Sage was such a breath of fresh air. She was a flower child and I loved seeing the opposites attract aspect with Fisher. Their chemistry was so good! I was so invested.

I would as always check out the TW. Fisher is raising his niece and both him and Sage have a bit of trauma in their back stories.

This one is out in May so check it out then!
