This was such an enjoyable read! It was my first Tarah DeWitt novel, and it certainly won’t be my last! She writes such complex and layered characters and the romance was so sweet. The characters and their choices felt very realistic and I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
This was cute! I enjoyed many things such as the PNW setting, both characters back stories, the light-hearted nature of it all, and the steamy scenes were good. Ultimately it was missing the *spark* but again, I did enjoy it! A great beach read.

Thank you Netgalley for this arc! I really enjoyed it! It has everything you want! Friendship, Food, small town, and love! This is the first book I’ve read by the author and will be going back for more! I love when I get surprised by an arc I randomly get!
Fisher finds himself moving him and his niece from New York to Spunes, OR after he gets fired from his job as a top chef and wants to try to build back the trust of his boss. His job is to get this small town restaurant moving along during construction and create a menu.
Sage is beautiful, but eccentric. She loves wild patterns, lots of jewelry, and animals. She’s fun to be around, but after her boyfriend Ian of 5 years dumps her for her friend she hasn’t been able to get back on the horse. Then, she sees the gorgeous man with earrings move into the rental across the field.
These two quickly become friends and one day Fisher decided to kiss Sage to make her ex jealous after he flaunted his relationship. This romance of convenience turns into strong feelings. They know he’s only going to be in Spunes for the summer, but they can’t help the attraction. What happens after he goes back to New York?
“You once told me you thought you were a lot of nots. I want you to know that to me, you’re everything.” 💜
Your honor, I loved it. If you love Gilmore Girls - but add a bit of spice - and you’ll probably love SAVOR IT by Tarah Dewitt. {Thank you to @macmillan.audio for the gifted ALC to review!} You get a small town, dual POV (and fantastic dual narrators for the audiobook!), a dash of fake dating, friends to lovers, and a bit of grumpy x sunshine.
I just fell in love with Sage and Fisher. Sage is a wild, happy and bit eccentric teacher, but part-time homesteader - unruly garden and lovable farm animals included. Fisher is a grumpy chef working through grief, unexpected new responsibility, and a recent breakdown resulting in his boss sending him to small town Oregon for a new restaurant project.
Their chemistry is a bit of a slow burn, but in the best way. It’s a supportive and healthy relationship, with tons of very detailed spicy scenes, and an incredibly mature and realistic third act breakup. I enjoyed FUNNY FEELINGS by the same author, but I looovvved SAVOR IT - which is out now!

Sage has lived in the small town of Spunes her whole life. She is fresh out of a long relationship, and her ex has moved on so she needs a win. Enter big city chef, Fisher, who is spending the summer in Spunes with his niece and has a lot to figure out. They only have the summer together and the fireworks aren’t only in the sky. 😉

What I loved:
-Where do I start? 🥰 Our two main characters were just such lovely people. Sage was my FAVORITE. How she treated everyone in town, she was the sweetest. Her robes, and the story behind them 🥺. Her animals, and how she felt drawn to saving them and taking care of them. Her love for growing things. I just really wanted to be her best friend.
-I loved all the pieces of humor in this. I did a lot of smiling and chuckling.
-The romance was good, but I think what shone for me was all the emotion in this story. This book made me want to check in on my brothers, hug my nieces and nephew, start a garden (despite having a black thumb), and paddle a canoe (which I have literally never done in my life).
-Gary the goose.
-Her mom’s journal. 😭
.
The only thing I disliked about this book is that Fisher is a gourmet chef who cooks amazing food for Sage and my husband does not feed me like that. 😕 Also now I want goats and I cannot have them in my apartment. ☹️

I simply loved this story and the characters with my whole heart. It was like a warm hug that I just did not want to end.
Fisher and Sage are perfection. They end up as neighbours—Fisher with his niece and Sage with her plethora of animals on the farm and they couldn’t have been more perfect for each other.
The banter between the two was chef’s kiss and I simply cannot get over the puns or Sage’s punny clothes.
This was the most perfectly sweet, adorable and swoony love story with the best ending. Come on—Indy and the goose?!? 🥰
Narration: I've always been a Zachary Webber fan and he did not disappoint as per usual. This was my first audiobook with Karissa Vacker and she did so wonderful.

This is a super cute romance that had me in its grips from page 1. Sage is an amazing character and I love everything about her. From the way she easily charms Fisher and his teenage niece Indy from the moment they meet. The meeting with Indy may include a goose, which I thought was both funny and adorable. I felt like the romance was perfectly done and I was rooting for them the entire book. It had be feeling all the emotions from laughter to tears and everything in between.
This is the first book I've read by Tarah DeWitt and it won't be the last. I will definitely be checking out her backlist after this!
Omgggggg this was absolute perfection. Chef’s kiss 😉
I could not for the life of me put this book down. These characters consumed me and I wanted nothing more than to drown in the amazingness of this book. And I did. I fell head over heels for Fisher and Sage as well as their entire crew.
Sage is just such a beautiful soul. I could not help but want every good thing for her. And Fisher, his growth in this, is just incredible. The love he has for his niece and all the ways he is there for Sage just made me swoon so much. I loved him an enormous amount. The chemistry between these two is just everything. It was steamy and sensual and their connection was to the soul.
I loved all the puns and hilarity, but there was all the emotional parts that cling to my heart too. I cried for many different reasons, but mostly for how beautiful this entire book was. Absolutely incredible. Can not recommend enough.
I really enjoyed this book! It was very light and easy read! Sweet and quirky! I want to read more from this author!!
savor it is 100% a character driven romance. there is exactly zero plot. and when the characters and vibrant and have depth, this usually doesn’t bother me. but for some reason, I didn’t believe in or connect to these characters as much. I wanted to. I love small town romances so much, and all the pieces for me to love this were there, but I was honestly so bored. I needed more tension. The friends with benefits sort-of-fake-dating situation didn’t add any tension because of the insta-lust. I needed more!!!
thank you netgalley and SMP for an arc.
Easily one of my favorites!! The animals, the found family, the flirting. I cannot formulate one single critique for this book. I laughed, I cried, I rooted for the characters to find a way to their happy ending. And what a beautiful ending it was.
What to expect:
✨ Single guardian
✨ Dual POV
✨ Friends with benefits x fake dating
✨ Burned out chef x sunshine teacher
✨ Small town
✨ Spice
✨ Adorable animals
✨ No miscommunication
Tarah DeWitt is one of my auto buy authors for a reason. I have loved her since her indie debut, and I'm so excited to see her transitioning to traditional publishing--simply because now more people will get to experience her stories. Savor It is the same slow, gentle kind of romance she's known for--but don't be fooled. Her books also pack in some heat. What to expect: small town romance, "just for the summer," chef MMC, bubbly FMC with a whole posse of rescued animals, and some tender exploration of grief. As a bonus, it's set in Oregon, in the beautiful PNW. As a resident PNW romance reader, I loved that she actually got the weather right--so many books totally miss the mark. (It's a personal pet peeve of mine.)
Definitely pick this one up. You'll want to...(wait for it)...savor it. (Pardon my terrible pun. I know it's low-hanging fruit, but it's also very true.)
Small-town romance fans, this one is for you! Superstar chef, Fisher, is in the small town of Spunes for the summer as he attempts to rebuild his image and help his teenage niece recover after the loss of her parents. He meets the delightfully quirky, Sage, in one of the best meet-cutes I have read. This is pure grumpy sunshine with chemistry flying off the page. I loved Fisher's grumpy, don't talk to me attitude as it butts up against Sage's nothing can ruin my day perspective. The setting is divine with cats and goats and wild berries. I devoured the descriptions of food and meals that Fisher described. I loved that these two couldn't help falling in love despite Fisher's being short-term and Sage's just coming off of a long-term relationship. The banter makes the pages turn quickly. This is a dual POV (which I love) and these two have so much heart. I highly recommend this book for fans of BK Borison or Chloe Liese. I

i will simply never be over sage & fisher. these two have my whole heart. “love is this.” 🫠 when fisher & his niece come to town it all starts with chaos, police visits & a woman in a cow robe & somehow turns into the love & found family they didn’t realize they were missing. 🥹 the way fisher falls so hard & just really gave his all even with an end date 😭 they both loved so hard. fisher & indy were one of my favorite guardian relationships. they both grow with each other so much during the story. & indy at the end with the journal? 🥹 i just loved this book. “yes chef” 🤭 & “happiest when wet” were my favorite little moments. & the spice 😮💨 just right. five star.
Have you ever started a book, blinked, and you're suddenly at the end? That's what happened with this book. I loved the story so much and was hooked from the very beginning that it just flew by. I read it in a day and was borderline depressed when I finished it. I absolutely loved Sage and Fisher. I loved watching their relationship blossom from friends to more and everything in between. The humor was top notch. I found myself sitting here reading with a big smile on my face because it genuinely brought happiness to my life. I'll be picking up the rest of Tarah's books from here on out.
I love a quirky small-town romance and Savor It was definitely chock full of the quirk! From the the phallic structure that appears in the middle of town at the start of this story to the imprinting goose who fell in love with a girl, this book had plenty to make you smile. But, nothing made me smile more than Sage and Fisher.
Fisher Lange, a renowned chef, has just lost his prestigious job in New York city after a major blowup at a food critic forced him to step down. Throwing him a bone, his boss asks him to supervise the development of her new restaurant in Spunes, Oregon (yes, there’s a Fork, Washington joke there!). Sage Byrd has lived in Spunes her entire life. She is the epitome of sunshine and a positive outlook; and, she’s Fisher’s summer neighbor. To say sparks fly immediately would be a lie, but when a friendship forms, and a spontaneous kiss ignites town rumors and more, these two just can’t seem to stay away from each other.
Although it took a bit longer than typical for me to get into, Savor It is charming with an undercurrent of emotion. I love a tortured hero more than anything and between the loss of his livelihood and a family member, Fisher is locked up tight in his emotions. I enjoyed how Sage was his opposite, also grieving a loss of her own, but moving forward with life in a completely different way, unabandoned. The way she impacted Fisher, and his niece (did I mention he’s her guardian), was truly heartwarming and watching them open up throughout the book was a journey I enjoyed watching. AND, the icing on top of this tasty cake was ALL the animals! You can always get me with a farmload of crazy animals! I am really hoping for a second chance romance between Sage’s brother Ellis and his ex-wife, Wren. Can we please make this happen!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC. I was not required to leave a positive review, all thoughts are my own.
At the heart of the story is Mia, a talented pastry chef with a passion for baking and a longing for something more in life. When she inherits her grandmother's bakery in a quaint village in Provence, Mia embarks on a journey of healing and rediscovery. Along the way, she encounters a colorful cast of characters, each with their own dreams and struggles, who become like family to her.
This story is as rich and indulgent as the pastries Mia bakes, painting vivid images of the sun-kissed French countryside and the mouthwatering treats that fill the bakery's display cases. From the flaky croissants to the decadent éclairs, every description is infused with love and care, inviting readers to savor each moment along with the characters.
But "Savor It" is more than just a culinary delight; it's a story about following your heart, embracing change, and finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Through Mia's journey, Dewitt explores themes of family, friendship, and the power of community, reminding us that sometimes the sweetest moments are found in unexpected places.
With its charming setting, engaging characters, and delectable descriptions, "Savor It" is a must-read for anyone in need of a little escape. Whether you're a foodie at heart or simply a lover of heartfelt storytelling, this novel will leave you hungry for more. 🥐🌻
I loved this so much! 4.5 Stars!
I had high hopes after loving other reads by Tarah DeWitt but this might be my favorite yet??
So charming yet sexy! I need more chef romances ASAP because wow.

Tarah DeWiit is just so good. I loved Savor It, in fact one could say I ...savored... my time with the book. :)
I enjoyed this romcom! I loved the small town setting, Sage was such a strong female character and I loved her life in her small town. I loved how she gave her all to it, I loved her little farm with all the animals! They really made the book I adored them all and when we got to see them!! I also loved the dynamic between Sage and her brothers i thought the family aspect was done so well! Fisher started off in this book a little lost and dealing with so many things! I loved him and Indy and all the things we got with her sister and how losing her effected him and his niece Indy and I loved their journey together! I also loved how sage and fisher worked together the meet cute and fisher and Indy’s first night in the small town was so funny and the perfect set up! The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was how it felt like the book was close to being over before any thing really happened with the two main love interest and I would of liked to get a little more of them. I thought the ending was done really well i listened to this on audiobook and the narrators where amazing and I loved having this story read to me by them!!
