Sage is comfortable in her skin and in her life; though she is no longer married, she appreciates her home and her animals where she resides in the small town of Spunes, Oregon. Fisher is anything but comfortable, managing to support his teenage niece and reeling from his fall from restaurant success, his upcoming summer in Spunes leaves him feeling like a fish out of water. As fate would have it, Sage and Fisher find themselves living adjacent to one another, and each one has something the other never knew they needed. And as the summer unfolds, the two become increasingly close and they must decide where the future will ultimately guide them. This feel-good contemporary romance is predictable from the beginning, but it unfolds in an enjoyable way. As adults, both Fisher and Sage have histories that are complex and deep, and these realities help to make them feel more real as characters. Similarly, supporting personalities are quirky and easy to visualize within the context of the plot. Told from the alternating perspectives of Fisher and Sage, the narrative permits readers to have a clearer understanding of what drives each character throughout the story. Sweet and spicy, this is a fun romance to enjoy on summer getaways, and it is best suited to mature readers due to occasional strong language and steamy romantic scenes.
my second book by tarah dewitt, 'savor it' follows sage, a small town hobby farm owner who needs a win after her recent ex suddenly gets engaged. when hotshot chef fisher arrives in town with his teenage niece after the loss of his sister, sage takes this as an opportunity to both get ahead: she can use fisher as a partner to with the local summer competition, and in return she will help improve fisher's image around town. but as their pact quickly turns into more than simply business, the two try to savor every moment of their summer, which is coming to an end faster than they'd like. this small-town romance was charming & fun, as well as quick summer read. i had a great time, it read like candy, & i'd recommend it.
I expected to enjoy this book but I couldn’t have predicted the degree to which I loved this story. Sage and Fisher felt real and flawed and so relatable in their attempts to work through their own issues. They don’t try to fix each other. They fall for each other, issues and all, and isn’t that what we all want??
Their romance is sweet and heartfelt and steamy in equal measure, and I loved the depiction of something casual becoming something deeper and real.
The town is Spunes is hilarious and I want a whole series set here. I’d especially love to see Indy growing and thriving in other books. She was so heartbreakingly real and snarky and fun.
This small town romance is everything I needed right about now. I literally wanted to SAVOR Sage and Fisher, this romance reminds me so much as to why I love romance novels so much, it was so easy for them. Fisher is going through it, he lost his sister, almost lost his career, and has to parent his niece Indy, and he really doesn’t want to mess THAT up. Then he’s sent to a small town to watch over a new restaurant being built thee, and then he bumps into Sage, or Sage bumps into him, and it was too funny for words. I knew I was going to love this book after Sage came into it, with her funny robes, even funnier animals, and amazing little family. Their attempt at Fake-dating, and dating for convenience went away when they just plainly agreed to just BE TOGETHER throughout the summer, but when they both realize how hard they are falling for each other, everything changes. And we can’t leave out the chemistry between these two….. FIREEEEE!!!!
I absolutely adored this book! Sage and Fisher were both extremely raw and vulnerable characters whom you couldn't help but fall in love with and root for. I loved how DeWitt allowed them to both share their insecurities and darkest fears. It really allowed them to grow as characters and to be able to fall in love on a deeper connection. I do feel like we could have gotten more of Sage's backstory because it was very heavy on learning about Fisher. My biggest complaint is that the ending felt too rushed. The story was developed beautifully but the ending just felt too thrown together and quick. Overall, this was a solid read and I can't wait to see what DeWitt comes out with next!

“I think of Sage and her relentless determination to make something beautiful with all that she had at her fingertips, in spite of her life’s tragedies.”
I liked this one! But, I really wanted to LOVE this one. I absolutely adored, Funny Feelings and had really high expectations of this one. I could tell right off the back that the writing felt a little different. For a while, the story fell into a binge able rhythm. I liked the quirky FMC, Sage, who gave major “girl next door” vibes.
Dual POV. Fisher’s POV felt off to me at times. I can’t quite write out exactly what I want to say was off about it. To me, it felt like the narrative never changed- I could be reading either Sage/Fisher’s POV and not know who’s POV I was reading because the voice was not distinctive enough. The story took on too many sub plots to be properly explored.
Although this was not one of my favorites, the author will continue to stay on my list that I will forever read. Her writing is full of passion and you can tell she really puts her heart into it. My favorite part of this entire book was the advice journal from her mom. I love love love it so much, I kind of want to make something like this for my daughter.
Guys, this book was a beauty. I laughed, I smiled, I kicked my feet in glee and I cried actual tears.
I just wanted to pack my bags and visit Spunes. It made me think of Stars Hollows in Gilmore Girls.
Sage is amazing and I think that everyone who is living or has lived through grief will relate to this story.
So Please, do yourself a favor and pick this up this summer. Your life will be better for it. I promise.
Just so you know, after finishing it, I preordered it and was waiting for my final copy to verify each quote I highlighted in my Kindle.
Thank you @smpromance for my gifted digital ARC. I loved it and this is my honest review.

Savor It is a small-town, summer romance with dual POV. Even though there is a bit of fake-dating, the romance feels authentic. I really enjoyed this story and it made me crave a really nice dinner by a Michelin star chef. I liked the exploration of Fisher’s relationship with his niece and her understandable reactions to decisions.
Thank you @SMPRomance for the digital ARC & @Macmillan.audio for the audiobook. Zachary Webber is one of my favorite male narrators and he did a wonderful job, as well as Karissa Vacker did great as the female narrator. I did a mix of audiobook & Kindle reading.
Savor It by @authortarahdewitt is a recipe for a beautiful book perfect to add to your summer TBR:
-A small town girl
-A hotshot big city chef
-Fake dating
-Grumpy x Sunshine
-A bit of spice
-A huge amount of sweet, quirky fun
Honestly, what is there not to love? I loved the setting on this book, all the side characters that bring the town to life and of course our two MC’s. I felt like the 3rd act conflict actually worked so well with this story and didn’t feel forced. I honestly have no complaints! I really wanted to “Savour” the book but it was so good that I couldn’t put it down!
Side note, I combined both the ebook and audiobook both narrators ( Karissa Vacker and Zachary Webber ) were perfect for their characters!
Thank you @stmartinspress and @macmillan.audio for my advance copies.

What a fun, hysterical, hot/steamy, emotional story this book was! This is a new author for me and I simply loved every bit of it. I happen to live in a small town in Oregon, so it hit home with the dynamics that were in this very well written book. Loved the chemistry between Fisher and Sage, off the charts kinda chemistry, and when they give into each other, oh my! Adored the secondary characters, I laughed my way through this book. Well worth the read! Will definitely be reading more from this author.

The Festival of Spunes is upon them, and she wants to win their annual summer competition-she just needs a partner. Fisher Lange was a chef in NYC until he lost a Michelin star and sister. “Courage is a muscle. You strengthen it with use.”
I don’t think I’ve ever come across such a perfect book, at precisely the right time it needed to be read… as much as Savor It.
As someone that was born and raised in the PNW, this story captures the Oregon coast beautifully. From the charming & quirky characters, delicious ingredients, passion, and natural beauty, I fell in love with my back yard all over again. Although Spunes, is a fictional town, it felt incredibly real. And I couldn’t help but imagine it as Pacific City or Cannon Beach.
The combination of stunning scenery, wonderfully ridiculous humor, and the realistic anxiety representation, and career burnout, really resonated with me. But throughout the story, the reminder to savor all of the little things, has become my new favorite motto.
“You decide that everything matters. All of it, all that little shit. Everything in the present and how it makes you feel in those tiny moments, because you can’t possibly know when it’ll all go away.”
Sage Byrd has to be one of my favorite female characters of all time. Although I haven’t experienced the loss and most of the challenges she’s faced, she feels like a kindred soul, and I connected on a deep level to her character. She’s probably a little too helpful, loves gardening, rescuing all kinds of sweet creatures, and cares maybe a little too much about everyone she meets…
“I’ve known plenty of people who wear their hearts on their sleeves, but a handful of interactions is all it’s taken for me to determine that this woman carries hers in her fist, ready to hand it off at any given time.”
And don’t even get me started on Fisher Lange, the newest chef in town…Honestly is there anything sexier than a man that cooks incredibly well and enjoys feeding you?!?! Their banter kept me up until 3am the first day I started this book. I just couldn’t stop thinking about the sizzling chemistry between Sage & Fisher.
“Fuck, he’s perfect. No, it’s worse because he’s imperfect and honest about it and he’s deserving of so much love.”
“Yes, Chef.”
Maybe it’s the effortless dynamic between these characters, maybe it’s all of the sweet animals, or maybe it’s that this story is set in one of my favorite places in the world… if I’m being honest, I think it’s just Tarah Dewitt’s incredible talent with words. This is simply one of the best romcoms I’ve ever read. She’s now an auto buy author for me, and I fully intend to read her entire back list. If you’ve already read Funny Feelings, watch for an easter egg in the first library scene!!!
“But you know what the bravest thing of all is? The most extraordinary thing? To live by your own standards and no one else’s. To be happy by your own measure.”
Considering I’ve already read this twice before it’s even been released, (can confirm the audiobook is DELICIOUS as well), and that I think about these characters daily… Please do yourself a favor, read this beautiful book, and remember to Savor It.
"It’s been a privilege to fall in love with you, Sage.”
Thank you to Tarah Dewitt, and the publisher St Martin’s Press, for the opportunity to read this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for this read. This was good and Tarah can write very well. I like her books and she didn’t fail.
This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was sweet, fun, steamy and kept me reading. I enjoyed this book and will look for more books by this author.
I enjoyed this one! So much!! I wasn't expecting to laugh out loud and enjoy it as much as I did! Such a delightful read with humor, healing, romance, and just plain fun. A great, entertaining summer read. Some of the peripheral/secondary characters made it feel like I was missing a few backstories (mainly Wren and Ellis -- if there's not one already, I would love to see more of their interesting relationship in another Dewitt book!! and I'm definitely cheering for a Wren/Ellis reunion!) The Spunes setting ("not to be confused with Forks, Washington" ha ha ha!) is funny but realistic and fun. Sage and her "sage advice" and her robes and her animals and everything is just perfect! I wasn't sure how I would feel about Fisher and his big city chef background tying into the rustic Spunes setting and Sage's personality, but it really did work. Fisher's fancy dishes/recipes sounded heavenly, and I would definitely order them in a restaurant!! (Edited to add: I really would love to try Wren's scones!! I really wished that Dewitt had somehow created a recipe for those to add to the book!!) *Maybe* this book pushed the cliche small-town romance trope quite a bit, but it was still so much fun! I definitely will read more by this author!
Content: Pretty heavy open-door sex scenes, lots of the F bombs and other swearing

Oh my goodness this was such a wholesome read you guys. I have been on a dark romance kick and this was such a perfect reset. I absolutely loved everything about this.
I’m always so cautiously optimistic with “just for the summer” books because we all know how quick they go and sometimes details are missed and you blink and you don’t see characters fall in love and suddenly they are. This was not the case with Savor It. Every single chapter gave exactly what I wanted. We got to see Sage and Fisher fall in love bit by bit and it was so wholesome. Their chemistry was everything but their dedication to building a friendship first even though they were clearly attracted to one another was everything and more.
The library scene though?! 😏 but also the raking scene 🥹 this was full of both spicy and sweet moments that balanced out perfectly!
I did wish we could’ve seen more of Fisher and Indy’s relationship a bit more than just in passing or for a few paragraphs but I still loved the growth. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I actually cried towards the end and I wasn’t expecting that at all. 😂 We’re all shocked right?
I swear I could ramble on and on but I really enjoyed this one! This was my first read by this author and now I can’t wait to get my hands on more.
Thank you to author Tarah Dewitt, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for sending me the eArc in exchange for my honest review!
This was a lovely small town romance. Fisher, a big city chef who’s burned out, moves to a small town on the west coast to open up a gourmet restaurant there for his former boss. With him is his niece still recovering from the sudden death of her mother. Why his bos owns a fancy restaurant in New York City and then wants another one in Oregon is not explained, but it makes the romance possible so we’ll just go with it.
Of course, they fall in love with the small town and their neighbor, Sage, who is a lovely woman who knows how to find joy in life with her rescue animals and gardening. They spend a lovely summer together. Then they have to resolve the problem you knew was coming when you have a couple who live on opposite sides of the country. You know how it’s going to end, but it was an enjoyable journey.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!
Tarah did it again. She executed Savor It flawlessly. I believe it's my new favourite Tarah DeWitt book.
Tarah has this beautiful writing style that is easily digestible. I felt fully immersed in this world and wholly invested in Sage and Fisher's story. Additionally, I was so heavily invested in the side characters that made up this wonderful little town and I found myself begging for books for each of them as well!
Sage Byrd and Fisher Lange are absolute perfection together. Their easy chemistry and compatibility was entirely believable. These are the type of characters that you want to read endless epilogues about their happiness of just living life together. They each had a well developed and flawlessly executed character arc with wonderful growth.
Fisher has lost nearly everything and is trying to balance rediscovering his love of cooking, getting his feet back on the ground after his career as a chef crumbled, navigating guardianship of his orphaned teenaged niece while managing his own grief after his sister died. I absolutely loved how dynamic Fisher's character was. On top of all that, he was regularly attending therapy and found himself falling for the local girl, even though his stint in the small town is temporary. He was the grumpy, brooding chef who was struggling to find direction, but he was also not afraid to be emotionally supportive and was comfortable crying in front of Sage. All around, a 10/10 book boyfriend.
Sage is the darling of the town. She is the incredibly likeable, fun and quirky girl that the locals will protect at all cost. But she still has so much depth. She can be silly and fun, but can get down and serious too. She is also an orphan which allows for a unique connection with Fisher's niece. Although she has older brothers who helped raise her, Sage was the the only girl and the baby of the family. She is the epitome of "it takes a village" and had to find ways to create her own solice in places like the library.
The love story between Sage and Fisher was soft and sweet but so fun, flirty and hot at the same time. There were so many profound and quotable moments. I love Tarah DeWitt's writing, she is a true talent and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC.
Actual Rating: 3.5 ⭐️
Overall, I enjoyed the book. It had banter, tension, and a few spicy scenes. It’s set in a small town and the main couple are neighbors for the summer. The FMC is a quirky woman, who has a whole farm in her backyard and the MMC is a broody chef looking to start fresh after he got fired from his job in New York.
Unfortunately, I found it hard to get into. I had to read the beginning twice because I simply couldn’t understand what was going on. I also felt a little bored at times. It eventually got better as I got used to the writing style (this was my first book from this author).
I will say though that I absolutely loved how well the main couple communicated with each other. chef’s 💋
Would I still recommend it? Sure. Just don’t expect something that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you need a palate cleaner, then this book should do the trick.
Thank you Net Galley for sending me an ARC of this book 💜
thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review!
happy publication day to this charming little gem of a book. it took me until about 15% to get into the story, but once i did i was hooked. this is my favourite kind of small town romance - whimsical without feeling cloying. sage is a wonderful female lead and fisher is a nice accompaniment to her, but she really shines as a stand-out character. i liked the supporting characters and would love to see wren and ellis get their own book later on down the line!
