This book is silly with a serious topic...perfect for young kids. How ridiculous is it to ban dinosaurs and unicorns? About as ridiculous as it is to ban books!!!! Read this with a little one and set them straight on the seriousness of banning anything that limits your fun and imagination.
This book was cute and the narrator did a great job! It was too advanced for my 4 year old to get the whole concept but he was entertained and we talked about what it all meant afterwards.
Banning books is ridiculous, so this book for kids makes sense. Fun and well written. Upbeat, engaging narration by the author. Definitely wish it was slightly longer, but a success overall.
(I received this audiobook ALC via NetGalley in return for an honest review. Thank you.)
I’m so excited about This Book is banned by Raj Haldar illustrated by Julia Patton. It belongs in every library! This would be a great intro to ideas against censorship and in support of the young creative intellectual mind!

I think this book did a good job at introducing a very important topic in a way that is easy for children to understand.
With all the banned book conversations happening today it is refreshing to see one that helps kids understand that banning something just because you do not like it is silly. All of the animals have value proving the authors point.
"This Book is Banned" is a funny book that explains how silly it is to ban books or other things in excess. I highly recommend this book for kids of all ages!
This audio is enjoyable even without the pictures, thanks to the excellent narration by the author, Raj Haldar.
Thank you to Netgalley and RB Media for the audio ARC in exchange for this review.
Thank you to NetGalley and to RB Media, Recorded Books for an ARC of this Audiobook.
This book was cute but had a message. It shows the silliness of banning books. Maybe more adults should read this book. I thought the narrator did a great job as well.
Thanks to RB Media, NetGalley, and Raj Haldar for the delightful advance audio recording of This Book Is Banned. It is a children’s book and does a great job of explaining how quickly things snowball out of control when it comes to banning things. There are plenty of adults out there that seriously need to listen to this book and understand how we are going off the track. Great job Raj—I love this and it deserves more than just five stars❤️
WOW! I absolutely loved this children’s book by Raj Halder. I love the way it explained what it means to “ban” something, while also touching on the comedic (absurdity) side of banning something like books. My 3 year old also listened to it and was giggling and responding to certain things the narrator would say/ask. The book kept me AND my 3 year old engaged. I think this book could be good for a variety of ages. I love the message within this book!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Recorded Books for this advance copy.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher of this book for giving me a copy of this Audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review. I really enjoyed this book! I feel like it would be a great book to share with children that might ask why some books are being banned, or even for adults who might need help understanding the problems with banning books. I enjoyed this audiobook, but would recommend either reading it along with the physical book, or just sticking with the physical book, so you can see the amazing illustrations that accompany the words.
Ran Haldar is the author, and the reader of this important, silly, and very entertaining audio book. The story begins as an ordinary childrens’ tale and quickly turns into a fun romp through a book that cannot be because it is banned. . Everyday innocuous things such as beds, giraffes and avacados are banned throughout this story because someone somewhere doesn’t like them. The author’s voice inflection and dramatic reading are wonderful. This captivating tale highlights the absurdity at the heart of this issue, and beguiling story is sure to be a hit with children while teaching them why we need to allow others to choose their own books.
I recommend This Book Is Banned for parents and educators alike to introduce children to the powerful lesson addressed and as a springboard for further discussion. It would be an excellent tool for teacher training. Five wonderful stars for this thoroughly immersive and delightful audio edition.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of this audio book in exchange for my honest review. Publication will be September 26, 2023.
Using humour and a light-hearted tone to talk about important and serious topics is always a good idea. Especially toward kids. Though as an adult I enjoyed this audiobook just as much. The audio version is narrated by the author which is an added bonus.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Recorded Books for an Advance Review Copy.
