Desideria, a demon princess, has 90 days to find her eternal partner or face a dire fate chosen by her father. Seeking true love, she ventures into the human realm and endures a series of disastrous dates. This book is a delightful blend of humor, romance, and engaging characters. The romantic tropes, like forced proximity and fake dating, are well-executed. I loved the dual perspectives and mental health representation. The dynamic between Desi, Jace, and Cannon is heartwarming, making this paranormal romance a captivating and entertaining read.
A demon princess with only 90 days to find someone to marry and take back to her world for all eternity living with a nerdy graphic designer with anxiety? What could possibly go wrong? I love opposites attract and in this case, I adored how Jace and Desi complemented each other. I was immediately drawn into their story!
I love paranormal creates and some fantasy in my romances but I also don't want to have to learn too much about the geography of another world or hear about a fictional war. What I do want? Demons who can smell lust that drop in and point out you are horny for your roommate who you say is just a friend. This was the perfect level of paranormal for me.
I did struggle a bit with some of the middle of this book. I felt like we could have lost 50 pages or so but I did like that Jace saw a therapist for his anxiety and the therapist was helpful. Not all anxiety is the result of a trauma but it can happen so I think Jace's story made sense. I liked that Desi supported Jace when he was anxious and didn't judge him.
If you enjoy a fun paranormal story with lots of contemporary tropes check this one out! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one and will definitely be checking out other books by this duo!
Thank you to NetGalley, Wattpad, Ms. Johnson and Ms. Vaughn for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title. An honest review was requested but not required.
I liked the general idea, and I liked that the authors were conscientious about accurate mental health representation. Unfortunately this really wasn't the book for me. Reading it more or less back-to-back with really excellent books unfortunately made it suffer by comparison. For one thing, it should have been at LEAST 1/3 less long. The main characters were a little flat; Jace was reduced at times to his diagnosis and seemed like a caricature of the character he was supposed to be. Desi (as other reviewers noted) was woefully oblivious to human customs and norms when she was supposedly obsessed with all things human. Cannon was there as a sort of fluffer for Jace, repeatedly told how wonderful he was but friend-zoned to the max. The dialogue didn't feel realistic, and the plot didn't progress at all for like 200 pages. I kept picking up other books to read, which is never a good sign.
I see that the book was received very well by other readers so I'm going to conclude that it wasn't my cup of tea, YMMV, and leave it at that. ⭐⭐1/2
Desi is a demon on a mission to find her eternal partner. Having an eternal partner is the one requirement her father has before she can step up and take her position as a Demon Queen. She has 90 days in the human realm to find the love of her eternity, if she fails she will have to go home bind herself to a demon of her father’s choosing. After a few bad dates she enlists her two roommates to help her navigate the dating scene. One roommate is prepared to help her at all costs, while the other is firm on his stance that love is fleeting. Desi needs to work fast to find her partner and take her throne to ensure the stability of the demon realm.
Desi is sweet and understanding. Her kind nature with an occasional burst of chaos is great.
Jace is a character I was unsure if I was going to like however the metal health representation ij the form of anxiety makes him extremely relatable.
Cannon is pure best friend goals - enough said.
Unleashing Chaos is a medium paced paranormal romance filled with sassy characters, hot nerds, witty banter and lots of spice. I found it to be quite enjoyable, especially the dynamic between the characters. I enjoyed the pop culture references and how they were sprinkled in with spin on the paranormal ideology of angels and demons.
This is such a fun read!
Desi is a demon that’s on a mission in the human world when her father (the king of demons) gives her 90 days to find her eternal partner. She gets help from her roommates to guide her through the human world and its dating scene. From figuring out how to use apps to finding out what DTF means. Will she find a partner? Is he right under her nose ??
Desi is so sassy and it was entertaining seeing her go through the dating scene, the good and bad. Enjoyed the banter and especially the spice in this book!!!
Tropes for the book:
-grumpy x sunshine
-forced proximity
-demon/human
-older woman/ younger man
-slow burn/ spicy tension
-roommates to lovers
-fake dating
-dual POV
Definitely recommend if you like a spicy paranormal romance 💜
Desi, a demon princess, is given 90 days to find her eternal partner. She goes to the human world to find him. She meets Jace, who has issues because of a betrayal, and Cannon, who is a golden retriever type, and she moves into the apartment with them.
I really like the story line of this one, but I think it was a bit under developed and rushed at the end. With that being said, the banter and spice in this was really good. I enjoyed the interactions with the characters and like the anxiety rep. Desi’s dating antics were hilarious! If you like PNR romcoms, you will enjoy this!
"Sweet Desideria. You have a filthy mouth, but it's nothing compared to the things I imagine doing to you."
This paranormal slow burn had so many layers that made it unique and a great read! The slow burn between Desi and Jace had me screaming. Their chemistry was so good and I just wanted them to get down to business, but I also appreciate how the pacing reflected Jace's struggles with trust and his self-perception. The mental health representation of anxiety and panic attacks demonstrated by Jace felt authentic and raw. When the spice did happen, it was super hot and worth the wait 🥵 I found myself holding my breath and crying at several parts during this book, it really got me in my feels in the best ways. The ending was a great twist that I didn't see coming! Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to more stories based in this world.
“Desideria is looking for true love... When your father, the king of demons, tells you to find an eternal partner in ninety days, you do it —because the alternative is worse.”
If you’re looking for a spicy fantasy, this is it (not sure how🌶️ because you all rate spice differently). I loveeeed the first half, but around 60% I started to lose interest. Go in with an open mind; there will be moments when you think to yourself “this is not believable.” However, by the end, you will understand why those moments weren’t believable.
Thank you to Wattpad Books and Frayed Pages for a gifted advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.
I had a really hard getting into and staying with this book. I really like big parts of this book but struggled to connect to Desi. I just struggled throughout the book to fully care about this character. Overall it was interesting just struggled with MC.
I read this one so quickly!! From the cover, it seemed good and I really enjoyed the paranormal romance rom com it ended up being. I loved the banter and the grumpy sunshine trope, even though the sunshine was a literal demon.
Like Jace likes everything in perfect order, no disarray whatsoever, and in walks in a demon princess. Along with another roommate who forms a triangle dynamic but also not really. So if you don’t like the love triangle trope, don’t pass this one up just because of that, it’s not really prevalent. You know you’re supposed to be going for Jace.
I also enjoyed Desi’s lack of knowledge of the human realm. They were some real laugh out loud moments.
Also as I write this I realize I actually met these lovely ladies at a local book convention here in New Orleans! Checking my bookshelf, I bought Edge of the Veil from them. Glad to be supporting them on this book! I really enjoyed it.
Thank you Wattpad and Literally Yours PR for the copy for review!

I wanted to like this more than I actually did. I think I went into this with high hopes and was let down significantly. The fantasy aspect was great and not too much of a fantasy overload, if you get what I mean. I just could not connect with the main characters and it was just too long for me.
I was about 50/50 for Desi, for someone who was so excited and loved the human world. She lacked the basic knowledge but she was sassy and confident which I love in a FMC.
Jace was just meh for me. Same as desi, I was 50/50 on him.
Now Cannon, I LOVEEEEEEED Cannon and wish we got more of him. He was so sweet and such an amazing friend.
I wish that the epilogue was better and we got a glimpse into their kids and more on the couple overall.

This book was a 5 stars. The way he doesn’t believe in love until he meets her, I love it. The chemistry and spice between the both of them was chef’s kiss. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
This book was AMAZING.
It felt like I was drowning in it because how amazing and fast I feel in love with the story.
Let me convince you to read it with two things;
Nickname …. “Little hurricane” yes please 🥹🥹
Quote: “She’s a little hurricane, leaving mayhem in her wake. But in the eye of her storm, there is a sweet moment of calm. She is the most beautiful chaos.” How freaking beautiful 😭😭💕
I LOVED this book. I enjoyed this authors take on demon romance . I’ve become more obsessed with those as of late, and I’m glad I can add this to my collection. Desi & Jace are everything I could have wanted and more in a book couple.
What’s what:
Desi is a demon princess who needs to find an eternal partner before taking over her own Circle in Infernis (where all the demons live). She was not having luck finding another demon as a partner, so she has been allowed to enter the human realm for 90 days to find a human partner. While there, she meets Jace and Cannon while apartment hunting. Both Cannon and Desi end up moving in with Jace.
Desi attempts to learn about dating (and the joys of dating apps) while subsequently becoming closer with her roommates, and continuing the search for a partner. *Not a love triangle*.
My thoughts:
For as long as this book was, I felt both the fantasy and romance aspects were underdeveloped, which really caused it to drag. There were so many pages that added absolutely nothing to the story, or development of the plot or characters. I will say I thought the last 15% picked up quite nicely again (though why it had to wait until this close to the end I don’t know), but what about the 40% before that? It took me 3 days to read the middle section of this book. I kept putting it down because it wasn’t holding my interest.
After reading this, I’m not quite sure why Desi and Jace liked each other, or if there even was a reason beyond “chemistry” *cough* they thought the other was hot*. There were glimpses where it all started to come together for me, but then it seemed to be a 1 step forward and 2 steps back situation.
I did enjoy the anxiety representation in one of the main characters, and appreciate how light is shed here. What I think would have helped make this aspect stronger was if the authors would have revealed some of the why earlier on. I don’t need to read over and over that Jace has anxiety or he has issues. Tell me why, shoe me why that impacts his decisions, even if they are breadcrumbs to help me understand later. There was already so much going on and rushed at the end of the book, the explanation for the anxiety was not in the right place.
I found it confusing near the end of the story that all of a sudden several characters were determined to not be human? Or at least have their symbols? But at other times it mentions the human has to pick where their energy goes when they die. It felt contradictory to the earlier stages of the book where it seemed much less likely that angels and demons were just coexisting in the human realm.
This isn’t a bad story by any means, but in my honest opinion it could have used some additional beta readers. With the flow being off and what I felt to be an underdeveloped story, I was not as hooked by this one as I wanted to be. Still a decent read with an interesting concept and some fun dialogue.

This book was freaking amazing. It was everything so needed. These authors write magic!
I am so grateful I got to read this Arc so I can help tell the world how good it is. It’s super cozy and perfectly steamy. The characters are relatable and lovable. I devoured it quickly because I didn’t want to put it down.
If your looking for a book to hit more then one criteria this fits the bill. It’s very grumpy meets sunshine with a mix of magic realism. The daughter of chaos has 90 days to find a human partner and bring him home. There’s many mishaps, humor, suspense and cozy love. I swear there was one whole chapter I didn't breathe as I was waiting to see the outcome. I had a lot of feelings during this read but at the end it was amazing.
Is paranormal contemporary romance a thing? If it wasn't before it might be now! I tend to avoid contemporary romance and usually favor fantasy, but this read had me reading faster than I have read another book in a long while. I couldn't put it down.
The ending was amazing! I was extremely worried for all the characters involved right up until the very end.
I loved Cannon till the end, too. Desi was so fun to learn about- I feel like I know her really well and I want to know so much more about her family! Jace was a very well-written character. At times I found myself thinking "why are you doing this?!?" but then he would be vulnerable and I would completely understand why he was reacting that way. I loved the twists and turns that shocked me at every turn. The unique hierarchies were so interesting and thought-provoking as well. Lastly... I need to be Glen's best friend. He's my hero XD
I received an e-arc of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book up to about 60 or 70% through. I feel like the last 30 to 40% of the book was very slow and I found myself skimming through a lot to get to the ending. I also was not a big fan of all the talking during the spicy scenes. It completely killed the mood for me. I feel like this could’ve been a case for less is more. I love the premise. I enjoyed the romance, and I think the characters were decently written. I just feel like the last bit could be cleaned up, edited and shortened. I did like the little twist at the end although I did predict it I didn’t expect what would happen because of the twist. That sounds way more mysterious than it actually is but I did like that. I also was getting very annoyed with Jace by the end because I just needed him to get his shit together and stop being such a pain.
Desi is a demon looking for love in 90 days. Cue the two hot roommates; a golden retriever and a grumpy neat freak, one seemingly perfect and the other she’s inexplicably drawn to. This book hit a lot of tropes, and I found it to be genuinely funny at times. The spice was there, the relationships were not instant-love but actually grown from attraction to more, and I love that Jaces anxiety was consistent. Too often anxious characters are suddenly not anxious after something goes right but Jace was written well, his anxiety was irrational at times but that’s realistic, you can’t control when you’ll suffer an anxiety attack. I enjoyed the romance, the drama and the story. This was an easy read with lots to keep you entertained.
I think I went into this with my expectations a little too high. Every time I saw this come across my feed, it was a rave review. And while this book isn’t bad, it simply didn’t wow me.
Desi is a demon princess who comes to earth to find her true love in ninety days. Jace is a man with major trust issues due to previous betrayals, and Cannon is a generic nice guy/best friend.
I liked Desi's relationship with both of the guys. Platonic with Cannon and romantic with Jace. But I couldn’t fully invest in the romance for some reason, and given that this book is primarily romance driven this hindered my ability to enjoy the book.
Overall, it just doesn’t stand out in a sea of books.
