i really enjoy Lynn Blackburn's writing style. She gives us a clean approach to the suspense genre. The faith content is quite light, with a few prayers mentioned and not much else. I look forward to the rest of the series and hope she gives us some more faith content.
The long wait for another Lynn Blackburn book is over. Book one in the Gossamer Falls series, Never Fall Again, is a refreshing family mystery drama with the essence of true family love for one another and plenty for the addition of others. Never Fall Again puts me in the mind of Chesapeake Shores with mystery and suspense blended in.
I received an advanced readers copy from the author and Netgalley. Opinions are my own.
i don't usually like reading love stories but this was a nice easy read, with a sudden twist at the end. it was a well written story and a page turner with kidnap, burying alive and children at risk so all in all a good read
Landry and Cal have both been through hard times and are quietly getting on with their lives, until events conspire to bring them together. Landry’s shop is destroyed and needs to be rebuilt. Cal’s family has a fractured relationship with the family who own the resort Landry works for. Luckily Cal and her friend Bronwyn have managed to remain friends despite the family drama and his company is brought in to rebuild. Cal and Landry have both sworn to never fall again and agree to just be friends, but the more time they spend together the more they realise they want so much more. The drama at the resort escalates and it looks like Landry is at the centre of it. I loved how involved the other characters were in working out what was going on and thought the conclusion to the drama was nicely handled and drew me in. Landry was strong, independent, talented and found the family she didn’t know she was looking for. Cal was protective, caring, loyal and found exactly what he wanted, but thought he would never have. I was definitely rooting for Landry, her adorable daughter Eliza and Cal to get the happily ever after they deserved. There lots of lovely, sad, suspenseful moments in this story. Personally I found the family dynamics a little confusing otherwise this would have been a five star read for me. I’m not an overly big fan of Christian romance and admit I missed this when I requested the review copy, but I’m so glad I did. I definitely want to read more about the residents of Gossamer Falls. 4.5 stars.
I absolutely loved this book! Lynn Blackburn has outdone herself with these characters and their romance! There was something about this book that just hooked me right from the start and I was completely engrossed until the end! I do have to point out that there was very little to no suspense in this book until the final chapters, however I really didn’t mind at all. The romance was fragile and steadily built in the most natural way and the characters seem so real! Like, I would be friends with these people! They understood sarcasm and wielded it with precision! The side characters really rounded out this story so well and created a comforting sense of family in this little space of Gossamer Falls! I absolutely want to read more in this series and loved this book!
Never Fall Again by Lynn H. Blackburn is the first book in her new series entitled, Gossamer Falls. The book was chalked full of family, mystery, romance and suspense. I especially loved the family connections, the love and southern traditions shared in immediate and extended family. That’s some of my favorite kind of storytelling. I can’t wait for book 2!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The opinions expressed are completely my own.
I have been eagerly awaiting Lynn H. Blackburn's latest work, Never Fall Again, and was thrilled and honored to be part of her launch crew! If you haven't read any of Ms. Blackburn's works yet, you are in for a treat. Never Fall Again is perfectly paced book, in my opinion. This book brings readers a plot full of adventure, mystery, humor, and danger, yet not moving so fast that it skips over character development or romance. I really appreciated the characters and how Ms. Blackburn brought unique characters with such a variety of qualities and scars, together in complex circumstances. I absolutely enjoyed this book as I have all of Ms. Blackburn's books because of the high quality nature of every aspect of her books....just superb! If you are looking for a wholesome, exciting, and suspense-filled tale of faith, family, recovery, love, and healing then check out Never Fall Again by Lynn. H. Blackburn. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
Landry made a new start for herself and her daughter after her abusive husband passed away. Just and Landry feels comfortable moving on some terrible disasters strike where she works and it becomes clear someone doesn’t want her to succeed with her business.
Cal is hired to build Landry’s new home but once these disasters strike he goes into protective mode with Landry and Eliza.
Lots of suspense and a lovely romance blooms in this book. Great read.
This book! I loved it and could not put it down! It was such a great story with action and suspense. It is set in a small town called Gossamer Falls and I am really excited to get more stories about this town and people.
Landry Hutton is a talented artist specializing in pottery and is also a single mom to Eliza. She works at an exclusive resort called the Haven which is ran by her best friend Bronwyn Pierce. Landry likes to keep to herself after the things she has gone through but wants to build her dream home now that she has the means.
Callum Shaw helps run a local construction company and Landry meets with him to get her home started. But this is tricky as she is planning to build on Pierce land who has some beef with the Shaw and Quinn families.
Then begins the action and suspense. Seriously give this book a read. The writing is great and I enjoyed every page!
Slow burn suspense with two scared people who learn to trust each other. Very inspiring novel.
I received an eARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
A single mom who has scars from the Christian community and a hardworking Christian man who has scars from a single mom. This veteran and artist have a sweet, slow burn romance. There is suspense woven in and plenty of questions. The story didn’t go where I expected but I was enthralled. While it is a lengthy book, it felt anything but. This is my first book by this author but I’m racing off to look into her other works.

This first novel in the new series is more a love story than it is a thriller. The really thrilling aspects are limited to the end.
Cal and practically all his numerous family are better, more generous, more hospitable, more... than reality. Emily and her daughter Eliza are very sweet and take their hearts by storm.
So yes, it was an enjoyable read - but not very realistic. Nethertheless I'm looking forward to reading mor about the people of Gossamer Falls.
Awesome book! Great Christian author with mystery, suspense, and romance all with a clean story line. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series. The ending left you hanging so you would want more. Can’t wait to see what happens to Cassie next.
Lynn Blackburn never disappoints. Every book has believable, fun characters, a great balance of romance and suspense, and a few of those well-worded lines that are like treasure you want to pull out and put in your pocket. I sometimes hesitate on the "single mom" trope because I was a single mom for years and that can hit on some emotions I don't always feel like experiencing during a read that's supposed to be fun and relaxing. But because it's Lynn Blackburn I risked it, and didn't have any trouble. Landry and Eliza were beautifully developed--so nice when the child in the equation isn't just a placeholder with occasional actions to further the plot. And extra points for making a dog a fully participating character that I fell in love with! The plot truly surprised me and went just to the level of suspense I could handle without starting to have to pace the room to calm myself down. :) Yikes did that get interesting at the end. Without giving anything away, more points to Lynn for keeping Landry strong and able to care for herself and her daughter--she is not a damsel in distress. LOVE IT.
SECOND CHANCE AT ROMANCE
Author Lynn H. Blackburn is introducing her new series, Gossamer Falls, with book #1, Never Fall Again. I loved Cal and Landry as her choices of names for the main characters! Blackburn has crafted a moving story of two strong, independent people who have suffered terrible heartbreaks. They never intend to fall for anyone again. That is, until circumstances cause their paths to cross, and then the unexpected happens. This quote is one of my favorites from Blackburn’s book:
“Landry took a deep breath and went for it. ‘I know that if you ever got to the point where you were willing to risk it, I would be safe with you.’ ‘Landry, this’– a quick squeeze– ’isn't risky. This is right.’”
My favorite thing about this book is the way that Blackburn takes a plot and creates a beautifully crafted story that compels people to feel as though they are participants rather than mere readers. I always believed I was a silent, unnamed character in every one of her books and it was a pure delight to watch this mystery be solved and to watch this glorious love story unfold.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Revell and NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own and without influence.
"Secrets bring despair. Surprises bring delight."
I love Lynn H Blackburn's writing and have been waiting anxiously for this new series to begin. Gossamer Falls is my kind of town - small, tightly-knit, and absolutely gorgeous. Cal's family is my kind of family, too - large but tightly-knit, a little crazy but fiercely loyal and loving. This first book of the series introduces many characters and lays the groundwork for the series. Though there are a lot of Quinn family members, it's not difficult at all to keep them straight because they're all so unique. I loved Cal and his steadfast protectiveness and his soft, tender heart. His interactions with little Eliza totally stole the show. Landry was easy to love and understand, especially her mama's heart.
There was less suspense and action in the book than I expected but I really enjoyed the character-building and world-building in the book. I can envision myself in one of the tiny houses on the river, hanging out with Cal and his cousins. Gossamer Falls and its people have completely captivated me and I can't wait to go back.
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Revell and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
This was my first book by Lynn H. Blackburn and won't be my last. The author brings a story that is easy to get into and keeps the reader interested until the very end with the twists and turns she wrote. Landry Hutton has escaped 3 years ago to "The Haven", a resort in the North Carolina mountains along with her daughter. Her primary need is to feel safe after her very controlling husband died leaving her a widow with a young daughter to raise, Landry finally feels safe and ready to settle down on a 3 acre property she recently purchased.
She meets Callum Shaw who is a builder in the area when she wants to build a custom home. Her best friend lets Landry know he is safe and she lets her guard down with him. Cal has a past of his own and hesitates to get too close to the lovely widow. After the building The Haven uses to sell her pottery is burnt to the ground, Landry suddenly doesn't feel so safe anymore in her haven.
The storyline moves along fast with a wonderful cast of supporting characters in a small mountain town. There are Christian faith elements that enhance the story very well. The mystery in the book is well done and the reader is left guessing the culprit until the very end.
Thank you to Netgalley and Revell publishing for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Landry has worked hard for three years to get her life back together after her abusive husband died. She took her daughter and ran because her in-laws despised her and wanted her daughter. Now she is working at a high end resort as an artist in residence and selling her crafts. When a fire destroys the area she teaches in as well as all of her crafts items, she is devastated. Other things begin to happen which makes her wonder if her in-laws have found her. Cal is her next door neighbor and a artisan as well. He is also a contractor. Cal has been hurt in the past with a women that had children and he vowed never to get involved with another women who has a child. As the story unfolds, he keeps getting drawn to Landry and her daughter Eliza.
This is not a book that I thought was a typical Lynn Blackburn book. There didn't seem to be as much action as in her other books. I was still a great book and one I would recommend to everyone.
I was given this book by Revell Publishing via Net/Galley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
I absolutely loved the opening book to Lynn's new series! After being in the FBI series for awhile it was a nice change of pace to read something different but still romantic suspense! I did not see the end coming AT all. It was creepy but not so much that you couldn't sleep at night!
This new series, Gossamer Falls, is looking to be a great one with this start in Never Fall Again. We met lots of characters, including three families, some of whom aren't on the best of terms. Landry and Bronwyn met in Arizona where Landry was a potter at a rehab center. Landry was in a bad marriage and when her husband died in an accident, Bronwyn invited Landry and her daughter Elzia to move to the mountains of North Carolina to work at her family's exclusive resort. We got a brief glimpse of The Haven, a resort for the rich and famous, in Under Fire, the third of the Defend and Protect series. Landry works with pottery at The Haven and is very popular. After three years, she has purchased land and is ready to build a house for Eliza and herself and that's when she meets Cal Shaw. Cal is part of the big family. The two are drawn together but with wounds from the past, they are cautious. When bad things happen at the resort, it soon becomes apparent, they are directed at Landry. Cal, Maisey, his golden retriever, and his family look after Landry and Eliza. This is a great story with a slow building romance and suspense that ramps up near the end of the story. It is heartwarming and sweet, sprinkled with faith.
