Exciting new series in Gossamer Falls with many stories just waiting to be told. The fact some families have been feuding for years, made for an interesting start.
This was the story of Cal and Landry and the struggles they faced before they met each other.
Both had troubled pasts but they were able to lean on each other through their friendships. With the help of others around them, the troubles that Landry faced Cal and Landry grew to be more.
The only drawback I had with this story, was there wasn't more mention at the end of what happened to the "bad guy"
I am excited for the next story.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from Revell through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Landry Hutton and her daughter, Eliza, have moved to North Carolina to start their life over. Landry finds a job at The Havin, and runs a pottery class but also sells her pottery there.
Never Fall Again has a wonderful setting, lots of interesting characters, along with a family feud that has gone on for years. The storyline is exciting with lots of suspense, relationship tension, and mystery. I loved the playfulness of Eliza and her connection to Cal. A sense of trust, new beginnings, and a future is possible, but not without its pitfalls.
I couldn't put the book down. Always something happening, but with twists I didn't see coming.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and willingly chose to review it. All opinions are my own
WOW!! Lynn takes us on another great adventure filled with suspense, mayhem and romance. Buckle up it's an amazing ride. Landry Hutton is trying to rebuild a life for her and her daughter, Eliza, after the death of her husband. To say she is jumpy and very protective of Eliza would be putting it mildly. Landry is finally ready to put down roots in Gossamer Falls, NC. Bronwyn points her in the direction of SPQ Construction and Callum Shaw to build her house. Through a series of events and Eliza's friendship with Abby (Cal's niece) they are thrown together in all sorts of get togethers. When Landry is targeted and threatened Cal goes on the defensive and vows to protect them. With the help of friends and family he does just this very thing.
I really enjoyed this story and had trouble putting it down.
**Thank you to Netgalley and Revel Publishers for the advance copy of this book. The opinions in this review are mine alone.
This new title from Lynn Blackburn is a story about a young mother in hiding with the support of a close friend. She settles into a new life at Grossamer Falls, working as an art instructor at a prestigious ranch popular among celebrities. Threats to her livelihood mount and though he's building her house, he's also a former marine with the desire to see her and her daughter protected.
In a town with deep family history, there's a lot of backstory alluded to and whole host of side characters to learn. I found the beginning slow, they each have hurt and trauma in their past that's affecting their present and their connection spurs them on to sorting through it. One of the themes is trust and what happens when someone portrays themselves as a Christian only to discover later that they aren't interested in a godly life so much as they are the title and appearance. This is confusing and heartbreaking. But there is hope in Christ, and you see the characters lean on him.
*A big thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC and for the opportunity to post an honest review.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for a review.
This book was so good. I was captivated from Landry and Cal's first meeting. This was my first Blackburn read and I'm so sad I waited so long. I loved the characters throughout this story. The complex dynamics between the Shaws, Pierces, and Quinns was so interesting. I loved the families and how they interacted, loved and teased each other.
This was technically a romantic suspense, but to me the suspense was secondary to Landry, Eliza, and Cal. I loved their relationships and I could not stop turning the pages to find out more. The mystery did have me guessing and the ending was a good way to wrap everything together. This is the perfect read for anyone who likes romance or mystery novels.
Landry Hutton has spent three years rebuilding her life behind the secure gates of The Haven, an exclusive resort on the outskirts of Gossamer Falls, North Carolina. As the artist-in-residence, and with her pottery prized by The Haven's guests, Landry is finally ready to settle in permanently. She wants to give her daughter, Eliza, a safe home to grow up in and hires former Marine Callum Shaw to handle the construction.
Cal grew up in Gossamer Falls and always knew he would someday join his family's business. He longs for a family of his own but has almost given up on that ever happening. Landry is funny, gifted, and everything Cal could ever want in a partner, but he vows to keep his distance. Landry has a daughter and a past. Cal has been down that road before and barely survived when the woman he loved left, taking her two sons with her. He can't bear to lose like that again.
Before construction on the house can begin, Landry's pottery is destroyed in a suspicious fire. It soon becomes clear that Landry and Eliza are in grave danger--but because of whom? But, after losing one relationship, he is hesitant to try again.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between Cal and Landry! A delightful story, I didn't want to put down!
I received an ARC through Netgalley and all opinions are my own.
A riveting story that engaged me from the beginning. Action, suspense, faith, family, love, and more. A great story. I receieved a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.
This is going to be another fantastic series for my reading pleasure! The group of characters introduced in this book have me already intrigued and wondering where the next books are going to take them, and the mysteries they are going to encounter. This author has a special knack for crafting character groups that I immediately want to be a part of and stories that I immediately adore. This is no exception. I’m all in for the rest of the Gossmer Falls series. The mystery of this one really had me guessing and the relationship between Cal and Landry was so sweet. I am already extremely curious at the backstory of a couple characters and how that’s going to play out in the rest of the series and I can not wait for those stories! Straight to the keeper shelf for this one!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher and have preordered my own Audible copy as well. All thoughts are my own.
Oh SO good!! I loved this first story in a new series by one of my favorite suspense authors. Never Fall Again by Lynn H. Blackburn grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go from the first line to the last.
"Landry Hutton didn't believe dreams came true anymore." She fled her previous life and made a new life for herself and her sweet 5 year old daughter Eliza in a rather remote place in North Carolina. She is an artist whose beautiful pottery brings in a pretty penny.
She was invited to Gossamer Falls by her closest friend Bronwyn Pierce who hires Landry and encourages her to settle here permanently. Landry wants to give Eliza, a safe home to grow up in and on Bronwyn's recommendation hires former Marine Cal Shaw to handle the construction for her new home. Have you seen a picture of him on the author's social media? He's so handsome, AND he has an amazing golden retriever. What is not to love? Except that Cal has a history of being hurt by a relationship with a single mother, and has vowed never to do that again.
I love the Shaw family and their humor, and how they don't hesitate to welcome people into their fold. I cannot wait to read more about them in the next installment!
The suspense that unfolds kept me guessing who the culprit was until the very end!
I highly recommend Never Fall Again to lovers of romantic suspense. Readers will thoroughly enjoy this story, I know I did!
Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.
I enjoyed meeting this family and look forward to the rest of the series! I love how the family is so connected with each other. This book had some suspense in it but not over the top. I particularly enjoyed the characters of Eliza, Cal, Maisy and Landry.
Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.
thanks to netgalley for the arc! (rating: 3.8)
i thoroughly enjoyed this novel. i wasn't expecting to love it, but it was suspenseful, romantic, and very sweet and wholesome. i loved to see the relationships created and to see the found family trope flourish. it was executed well and the writing style was good-- not a favorite, but still nicely done. there was a lot of natural love and i liked it. i didnt connect with the characters as much, but would still recommend this to my audience.
Every book I’ve ready by Lynn Blackburn, captured my attention from the very first page. After reading a page or two of this one, I could hardly put the book down.
Resulting in a car accident that killed her husband, Landry and 5-year-old Eliza moved to Gossamer Falls to start a new life and have been there for several years. Landry’s business has been extremely successful, and she is ready to have her own home, having just bought three acres of land from her best friend Bronwyn.
Cal Shaw has come highly recommended as a builder. One thing Landry has learned since living in this small town is that the Pierce and Quinn families have been at odds with one another for many years. Cal’s company is SPQ Construction; Shaw, Pierce & Quinn Construction, if spelled out. Cal confides that although he is a Shaw, his mother is a Quinn and assures her that although in the past there has been much family drama, they are all surprisingly good friends now.
Soon after meeting Bronwyn’s large, loud, and lovable family Landry and Eliza are absorbed right into it. Family is something Landry had very little experience with.
Upon agreeing to allow Cal to build her house, almost immediately there are strange and dangerous occurrences, including a fire, a break-in, kidnapping, and with a bit of romance thrown into the mix.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, at the same time, warm your heart as you get to know this big, boisterous, lovable, unforgettable family.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.
Reading a novel by Lynn H. Blackburn is an experience of exquisite torture. The very best kind.
Allow me to explain...
First, the characters. I want to drive straight to Gossamer Falls and live in a tiny house near Cal, Mo, Meredith, Eliza, Granny Quinn, Landry--with everyone! Such a shame it's not a real place with real people.
Because it certainly feels real.
Next, the setting. From the October festival to The Haven to the school, I just want to live in this kind of place. Died not withstanding, Gossamer Falls has everything wonderful about small town life.
Except for the bad guy. But I digress.
The slow burn romance mixed with personal secrets /tragedy will have you swooning, longing, and laughing. The kisses alone will make your toes curl in a very wholesome way, but it's the interactions that truly tug at your heart and leave you longing for more.
I loved every single thing about this book except for one...
And that's because I've finished it but I wasn't ready to leave!
My thanks to the publisher for my advance copy. My review is not solicited and is completely honest.
I loved this novel by Lynn Blackburn that was a slow building suspense and a quick burning romance. Landry and Cal have reasons not to risk falling for each other, but and each thinks they are stuffed in a box. Landry has to focus on her daughter Eliza, and Cal has a wide community that needs him. When life keeps thrusting them together, they're determined to be good friends. Then things begin to happen at the Haven that make Landry's safety a big question. I loved this story and recommend it to readers who love a romance that has a wonderful community and a solid layer of mystery/suspense.
Lynn Blackburn has done it again. This book is a must read! I love the all the characters in this book. Its funny and serious in all parts. The characters seem real with real life situations. Its great how Cal and Landry handled everything. Can't wait for more books in this series . Ready for Cassie, Meredith and No stories. Highly recommend ! Finished this in 24 hours . could not put down.
This book was awesome! I am never disappointed when I pick up a Lynn H. Blackburn book. I was hooked from the first page and didn't want to put it down. The twists and turns kept me guessing the entire time.
I loved these characters, the plot line, and the writing were all incredible.
I would recommend this book to anyone.

Have you ever read a book that you wanted to crawl into and be apart of the story because you loved it so much?! This book was that for me! It has romance, suspense, family drama, lovable characters, and emotional. I loved the small town feel you get from Gossamer Falls as well as the scenic mountains and views making it somewhere you would want to live/ visit. The Quinn family are so welcoming of everyone and supportive of each other and their friends that you wish you were apart of the family.
Landry Hutton has not had an easy life and escapes to Gossamer Falls to find a better life for her and her young daughter. She crosses paths with Cal Shaw when she wants to build her own home. Cal, who also has a wounded past, is drawn to Landry and Eliza but doesn’t want to risk his heart again. As things began happening that endangers the lives of Landry and Eliza, Cal and the Quinn’s work to keep them safe while trying to discover how is behind the danger.
Never Fall Again is a must read! It is one of my favorite books that I have read in a long time. I am so excited for this series and look forward to learning more about the Quinn family.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions expressed are completely my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. My opinion was not affected by the free copy.
I was really hoping to like this book, but I'm afraid I'm going to put it on my DNF pile. There was something about the rambling nature of the dialogue that was getting to me. I also could not stand how the main duo were immediately seeing each other in a romantic light after only knowing each other for a few minutes. It's one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to romances. Cal just met Landry and he's already thinking to get his friend to play matchmaker. Dude, you don't even know her! It's none of your business whether or not she's dating!
I didn't get far enough to judge what any of the characters were like. Except the dog, who is a good girl. I do hope someone else enjoys this book, but it was clear after only a few chapters that it wasn't for me.
Never Fall Again is a romantic suspense novel in Lynn H. Blackburn's new Gossamer Falls series. Landry Hutton and Cal Shaw are hesitant to enter into a relationship with each other for different reasons that the reader will uncover over time. These two main characters are very well written and Eliza, Landry's daughter, is also well written and realistic of what a five year old would be like. This is a lovely and romantic story but I feel like as a novel that is categorized as suspense it fails in the suspense category. I never really had that on the edge of my seat feeling waiting on the next terrible thing to happen. There is just very little of that in this story. I did enjoy it over all but if you are wanting a good suspense novel to read this isn't it.
A deep and moving story that captured my attention. I was unable to put it down. Such amazing insights into family and caring community, even with family feuds.
