The artwork adorably quirky. I love it. Unfamiliar is a perfect read for anyone looking for magical, witchy vibes in the upcoming spooky season.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review Unfamiliar, Vol. 2.
This is such a cute story and so beautifully drawn, I loved the previous book too and this was also a lovely read!
This book was just as good as the first, maybe even better! I definitely recommend giving this series a try!
I was so excited to see this follow-up! The artwork and characters are as spooky-cute as ever. I really liked the development of this characters in this book. Such a sweet, fun, fast-paced, slightly creepy comic. I think this will be a popular choice among graphic novel readers, especially for spooky season.
Unfair Volume 2 with story and art by Haley Newsome continues the adventures of Planchette and her friends , this time they are on a mission to help a ghost bride rest in peace and hopefully be reunited with her groom , but nothing is as simple as it seems and if they are to achieve their goal they will have to face up to the terrifying Faerie King . This book is just as cute and charming as the first volume, in fact it may be even more so. Once again the art work lends an air of quirk and whimsy that really works well with the simple story being told. I loved the cosy vibes and the strong friendship between the characters, as well as the budding romance between two of them. This is a perfect read for anyone looking for something with witchy magical vibes for the Halloween season without anything too dark or scary. Readers who picked up and enjoyed volume one of the series will be very happy with this instalment , and I for one am looking forward to even more
I read and reviewed an ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher, all opinions are my own,
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read a digital advanced version of this book.
I absolutely loved the first Unfamiliar and couldn't wait for more. Somehow, this was even better than the first one. I absolutely loved the way it continued on and wrapped up some storylines while setting new ones up. Sun and Babs were as adorable as always too. I cannot wait for more of this story.
I loved volume 1 of Unfamiliar so much! I got so excited that I was able to read volume 2 early through NetGalley. I've even preordered the final copy! It's one of my favorite comic series out there. It's so precious, heartfelt, magical, and loveable. I love all of the main characters and their animal companions. I want to read volume 3 now.
These are my favorite witches, creatures and familiars! The story is sweet with self love, friendship, found family, and hints of romance. Planchette and crew might become a yearly comfort reread and I hope more stories will be added to the Unfamiliar collection!
This is a fun and funny adventure of witchy characters, fae villains, curses, and first love that will keep you turning the pages. The humor is excellent in dialogue but also artwork. There is more than one problem to solve so you are in for a treat. If you're familiar with the webcomic and the first volume you'll enjoy the novelties of this one. Made me smile and "awww" plenty of times. Fun as always.
Thank you, publisher and Netgalley for eArc.
This series is very cute and I love the art style! I enjoyed volume 1 more than volume 2 though - volume 2 was slow in a way, but the ending felt very rushed?
This was the perfect spoopy graphic novel to read after so many heavy books. Haley Newsome's art is so whimsical and her characters are lovely to each other. We get to spend more time with Babs and Sun (which is great because they're my faves) and solve a HUGE mystery! Sign me up for as many volumes of this series, Mr. Fae wolf.

Unfamiliar Volume 2 is just as charming as Volume 1. The eccentric and diverse cast bring so much to the table that it’s hard to not enjoy the shenanigans that ensue. A very enjoyable read with fun and engaging illustrations. This volume discusses insecurities, mysterious curses, and the importance of friendship. Also, this volume showcases a queer relationship, a wedding, deception, and ghostly group adventures.
This is an easy recommendation if you enjoy fun, quick graphic novels with engaging stories and beautiful art styles. If you read and enjoyed Volume 1 of Unfamiliar, this should definitely be on your radar 🧙♀️🔮✨🐈⬛

Ever since I read Unfamiliar volume 1, I have been dying to continue with this series! It follows 4 young witches who become friends, each with their own unique personalities. One is a house witch who is super good at cooking, another a siren, one is cursed, and the last is trying to learn flight magic.
This webcomic turned graphic novel is super wholesome, charming, cute, whimsical, and magical. It has super cute illustrations, and I love the color palette that was chosen. I enjoy following along with the witch girls and their crazy adventures (a house full of ghosts, cursed by the faerie king, a crazy doctor), and can't wait to read more. Hopefully there is a volume 3!!! I absolutely recommend this series, and think it would be perfect for someone who is looking for cute, cosy fall vibes!
5/5 Stars
Thank you so much to netgalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review!
Still as adorable and fun as the first one only now the story is actually going somewhere after the set up. I can't wait to see where it continues to go from here and will keep following it until the end.
