This was such a cute romantic read and a second chance at love. Emmy and Owen were so cute together but also balanced each other being romantic and bring practical. The examples of romance from grand gestures to simple acts really highlighted all the ways love can be shown. Loved this story from start to finish. Thank you Courtney Walsh and Net Galley for a ARC copy to honestly review.
I dont think this book was for me but I'm sure other people would enjoy it a lot more than I did. The writing style was just not for me and I could not connect with any of the characters or the romance within the book.
Ohmyoatmealbutterscotchcookies! This book is fire. For reals.
Summing it up: Emmy is saved by a hot fireman when her house starts to burn down. It’s like all her romantic fantasies have come true. Wait. She knows this one. And they have a complicated history.
This author has a special way of telling a story that just makes me smile. It’s her super power. And this is another example of a book that made me laugh and seriously cry real tears. I loved Owen and Emmy. They were loyal and thoughtful with a friendship that was meaningful. Owen melted me with all those practical layers that revealed his inner gooeyness.
Emmy is like every bookstagrammer who is obsessed over romantic gestures and tropes. It’s hilarious. The difference is that she remembers all their names and details- and I don’t. Me: I am obsessed with that book and loved it so much! Also me: What was the guy’s name?
When Emmy’s house goes up in smoke can she see past the haze of uncertainty? Can Owen put out the fire of his doubts and embrace life more purposely?
An absolutely must be added to your shelf read! Part of the Sweater Weather phenomenon, but is exactly right on its own. Kissing only. And firemen.
My, oh, my, what a book it was! Why did I take so long to read it!? This was so unputdownable but above all, it made me think. A LOT. What really is romance? Is it just grand gestures or is it about little meaningful things and is there an in-between?
I mean we girls do love feeling that we're special but at the same time, we also value meaning small gestures. How a person makes us feel on a daily basis matters.
I loved how cute this story was. Owen as a misunderstood character had my heart and Emmy's efforts to help him become a better version of him was absolutely heart touching.
It's a very simple love story but it's unique in it's own way. I loved how relatable the characters were. This is my 3rd book by Courtney and I'm so in love with her work. If you like sweet clean romance novels, then you should definitely check this one out.
This book deserves more that 5 hearts!
If you love tropes like best friends brother, opposites attract, clean romance and dual POV then you will LOVE THIS. I just know I can always count on Courtney Walsh to deliver and she did with this one. This was so sweet and cozy and it felt like watching a Hallmark movie but in the best way possible. Just so wholesome and tender hearted! I love the character development and everything about this made me happy. Can’t recommend enough!
This was a really sweet, cute, fun read. This is one of those books you could read over and over again and make it one of your go-to comfort reads. I’m excited to read more from this author.
Hot fireman and book store owner?? YES PLEASE! Add in brother's best friend and a somewhat second chance romance, this book was just *chef's kiss* The chemistry was sizzling, the plot and character development were amazing, and after finishing this I devoured the other books in this "Sweater Weather" series. 5 stars!
This was a sweet book that exists in a town with other characters stories having their own books.
Very nice read and i would read again.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. All views are my own.
It's a cute second-chance Romance, with two likeable MCs and a decent plot in terms of how they reconnect, etc. (as sometimes these types of plots can be very far-fetched!). The secondary plot with Owen and his ex felt a wee bit dragged out, and I'm never a major fan of miscommunication/picking things up the wrong way, but a nice read nonetheless.
I loved this book so much. I can't stop thinking about this book. This was a best friends brother and I loved it! Its the best
This is such a cute and cosy read. When Emmy’s house goes on fire, firefighter Owen saves her - much to Emmy’s horror as she was not expecting to see him after telling him she had feelings for him years ago and him disappearing. But he’s back in town and they end up spending time together again and all the old feelings are still there. This is a sweet slow burn with lots of longing. It’s a lovely concept as well - the series set in the same town but all with stories from different authors!
What to expect:
- kind of a second chance romance
- best friend’s brother
- bookshop owner and firefighter
- clean romance
- small town romance
Thank you to Netgalley and Sweethaven Press for the ARC.

Can’t Help Falling is an adorable, autumnal romcom. It is a best friend’s brother romance with a dash of unrequited love, a podcast element, and a lot of small town hijinks. This was the perfect Fall read and I always love Courtney Walsh’s banter. So warm and cozy.
ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Can't Help Falling was so good! This is the perfect wholesome romance story. The MCs have plenty of quirks, and I loved that many of these were realistic and relatable.
This book has plenty of bookish references, which made my heart oh-so-happy. Best-friend's brother, childhood crush and a firefighter, what more could you ask for!
I'm looking forward to continuing with the Sweater Weather series, so thank you for the introduction to it.
Huge thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this one.
Absolutely loved this sweet romance book! The writing was so lovely and it was such an easy book to get through. I had such a fun time reading this!
Courtney Walsh is quickly becoming a must read author for me. I didn’t realize this was part of a bigger series, but it can be read as a standalone which is how I read it since it’s the same town, but not characters for each book.
I loved that Emmy owned a bookstore/cafe because what bookworm wouldn’t love that setting?! I do wish there was a little more depth with Owen, but he definitely grew on me.
Courtney Walsh knows how to write a heartwarming book. This book was the swoon worthy escapist romance at it's best.
The story follows a bookshop owner who secretly hosts a relationship podcast. When an unfortunate event happens she is rescued by a hunky firefighter, who happens to be her best friends brother.
This is a sweet, closed door, second chance romance with such depth and charm. Told from a dual POV, with flashbacks to childhood, this book has it ALL - with chemistry, banter, and purpose. Book lovers will love the literary references and favorite romcom movie moments. I enjoyed the character growth and exploration of practical romance not just grand gestures.
There were so many things I loved about this book, so read if you enjoy:
*Childhood crushes
*Books about books
*Brother's Best Friend
*Small Town Romance
*Friends-to-lovers
A fun quick read! Courtney Walsh always knows how to bring fall vibes and make you feel cozy. This was really sweet.

This was such a beautiful and sweet story, and it helped me out of my reading slump! I fell in love with Courtney’s writing when I read A CROSS-COUNTRY CHRISTMAS last year, and I’m mad at myself for not having read more by her since then. I loved everything about this story—it was lighthearted, funny, and comforting. Emmy and Owen were perfect MCs, and I loved following their relatable love story. I’d recommend this to anyone and everyone, and I can’t wait to read more by her!

Thank you Netgalley for this book in exchange for my review!
5/5 ⭐️
I absolutely adored this book! It has everything I love in a romance novel and it is a closed door, sweet, beautifully written, and complex characters rom com.
Between the main characters and small town, this book felt very developed and could easily be in my top 10 of the year.
The way that Owen and Emmy talk about romance, meet cutes and small gestures really had me thinking what is important in a relationship. The day to day and support, love and encouragement is really what keeps a relationship strong.

Emmy & Owen were secret friends in high school. When Owen moves back to town, the couple is thrown together after Owen saves Emmy from a housefire. I really enjoyed this clean romance. It had all the feels and was funny too! I loved the dyslexia representation. This is definitely a feel-good-story!
