Emmy is a hopeless romantic with high standards who’s waiting for Mr. Perfect. The one who will sweep her off her feet, kiss her under the rain, and stargaze with her. And when her house gets on fire while she’s inside, and this six-foot-two firefighter -who literally sweeps her off her feet and carries her out of danger- she can’t help but fantasise about this gorgeous man. But everything stops when he takes his helmet, and she realises it’s the same man who broke her heart eight years ago and left without a word.

I enjoyed this book a lot! It’s fun, cute, romantic, and super easy to read. You’ll read it in no time. Although I’ve read only two books in this autumnal series, I loved both and can’t wait to read the rest. These are the perfect cute and lightheaded autumn romances.

Emmy was a fun FMC with an enviable work. I mean, own a book/coffee/pastries shop? THE DREAM! I loved her journey with all her hopelessly romantic ideas for a man.

Owen, our MMC, is this grumpy, troubled firefighter who’s still struggling with many things. I liked him, but I did find him a bit exasperating at times. He’s a practical man when it comes to romance. Where Emmy believes kissing under the rain is romance, Owen stands on the intention behind the action, such as being thoughtful, listening to his partner, and doing practical but thoughtful things like taking the trash out or filling her tank with fuel. They are completely opposite in romance and completely wrong for each other, but are they truly?

I forgot that I had requested this one as an advance copy and had actually ordered the kindle version already as well and BOY am I glad I did. I adored this! It was the perfect fall read. I am not the biggest fan of best friend’s brother but with this I loved it! Emmy is me and I am Emmy. I loved her character and felt connected to her in so many ways.

This was the perfect balance of rom com (sometimes rom coms in my opinion can be very cheesy). I am so glad I read it! I will be reading every book by this author from here on out.

This book is for the hopeless romantics, the ones holding out for that perfect match who aren't willing to settle. One thing I am really loving about the Sweater Weather series so far is the characters who are more than happy to stay home, get cozy and read than go out on the town and this is no different. Emmy is my kind of girl, she is sweet, thoughtful and loves her community. Through her book and pastry shop she has created a special place for people to gather, it is no wonder the people of Harvest Hollow are so protective of her. While her vast knowledge of romance books has helped her figure out exactly what kind of man she is looking for she is coming to the conclusion she may never find him and is trying to come to terms with that.

Through this book, Emmy examines what love and romance really mean to her and when a certain hunky firefighter re-enters her life and saves her from a fire she is forced to reconsider her stance on love. Despite Owen being her complete opposite he stirs feelings in her no man ever has. Maybe romance isn't all in the grand gestures, perhaps the practical can be just as romantic if it is the right person.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the idea of a 7 book collection that is all interconnected is so fun. I love not having to say goodbye to all of these characters and still getting small glimpses of them as I read each book. This one started out a bit slow for me but once I got a few chapters in I was hooked. Emmy and Owen are such wonderful characters and I loved reading how they finally found their way to each other. Some may be frustrated with the miscommunication but to me, it felt honest. Owen had gone through a horrible breakup and Emmy had put her heart on the line only for it not to be reciprocated so it felt natural that they both had work to do to break down those walls all the while they were getting reacquainted. So far this series has been a beautiful warm hug coming into fall and I look forward to reading the last books in the series.

This was a cute rom com! It definitely is perfect for a cozy read with a sprinkle of fall vibes. The town - Harvest Hollow - was giving Gilmore Girls! I enjoyed the romance podcast element of the story.

what to expect:
- friends to lovers
- romance enthusiast vs skeptic
- dyslexia + trauma rep

I love Courtney’s writing. It’s addictive and heart warming. This was such a cozy slow burn romance. It was a unique story of friends to lovers. Her characters are so loveable and her stories are so well hashed out. She leaves no room for questions. I truly adore her books.

I just love the way they wrote the blurb for this sweet romance:

All it takes to start a fire is one single match. . . Owen Larrabee is not my soulmate. He wasn't when I confessed my love to him on his wedding day, and he isn't now. I should probably say that I wasn't the bride when that happened. I don't have the best timing. He’s got a temper, he's moody, and he has a history of being misunderstood and making big mistakes. I, on the other hand, make pumpkin cupcakes, spend my Friday nights curled up with a beloved romance novel and long to be kissed in the rain. Owen is my best friend’s older, off-limits brother and the only boy I ever thought I loved. Which is laughable because he only ever saw me as his kid sister’s dorky friend. But that was a long time ago. And I’m over him. Mostly. Until he comes back to Harvest Hollow like some kind of hero, showing up just in time to pull me out of my burning house and make me feel all the things I told myself I’d never feel again. Darn him and that brooding, intense way he looks at me. But I have questions. Why is Owen back? And does he remember our secret friendship or the day I’ve spent the last eight years trying to forget? I know better than to get hung up on Owen again. Especially now, when he’s sworn off relationships and thinks romance is a farce. And I’m something of an expert—at least to the people who listen to my podcast, The Hopeful Romantic . Never mind that nobody would guess their local bookshop owner is the one doling out popular weekly relationship advice. Never mind that I’m basing all that advice on the hundreds, (thousands?) of romance novels I’ve read over the years and not on personal experience. And especially never mind that Owen is making me question everything I believe about all of it. Can’t Help Falling is a best friend’s brother, childhood crush, opposites attract sweet rom-com with plenty of sizzle but none of the steam.
Full of hilarious small town moments and cozy comfortable friendship, you can't help falling for this book. Owen, though reputed to be the bad boy, is kind, steady, practical, yet romantic in his own way. And as much as Emmy think she's wants the over the top romantic gestures, it's the little things Owen does to show he cares that get her swooning. And all the side characters with their many crazy personalities add depth to the storyline and crrate the cozy small town vibe of the book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“My parents have the kind of relationship nobody would write about. Because it’s comfortable and kind-and boring: they hardly ever fight, and over the years, they’ve settled into this quiet, wonderful rhythm…..”

Yes Emmy, it’s called finding your “home”.

Courtney Walsh was a bookstagram made me do it author.. and now she’s become an auto read for my contemporary romance fix. Her stories are happy, funny and heartwarming. Her novels make me smile, laugh or feel. So thank you Booksta for making me reach out to let a new author enter my book world.

Readers: this romance gave me my favourite trope: childhood friend to lover. Or friends to lover. It combined this with my love of Backdraft (movie).

A fun happy one. Recommended with a cozy blanket and a cup of coffee or tea. Bonus if your partner is nearby so you can transfer your swoony feelings when you’re done reading 😉

So cute and so sweet! I have to say that I kept reading and worrying when the story would take a turn and drop in some trouble, but it never did! Our MCs are good people who listen and try to do better, and their family and friends are nice and give helpful assistance. This was a perfect read while I was dealing with the aftermath of my latest vaccination.

First of all, Thank You, Netgalley for the ARC granted to me. Second... WHAT a cute and cozy story this book was! I totally love the setting in the fall season, the influence of famous books from world literature, the characters that were so well built and believable, the loveplaced in the narrative so well that proves that altough it could be a great adittional, spicy scenes aren't prerequisite for a good love story! THis is the the second book from this amazing series and I am all READY for the next one! Can't wait to read.

Found a new book for my favorite shelve and a new author to follow!

I liked everything about Emmy, her books, cakes, podcast channel, braided hairstyle, sweetness, wittiness, being weird while nervous...everything! For Owen, he was the man of my dreams right there. He was shy and less social but comfortable. Not like those MMCs who starts flirting just after meeting the girl out of attraction and call it love. He was well matured.

I loved how the author described both the topics 'hopefully romantic' and 'practically thoughtful' so beautifully. Since, I fall in both of the categories, I couldn't agree more to the description of the author. 'Practical romance' - that's the exact thing I want in my life.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange of an honest review.

Overall, this was a fun and sticky sweet read!

Emmy is a bookstore owner/hopeless romantic who spends most of her time fantasizing about her fairytale romance and anonymously giving romance advice to others via her podcast! When tragedy strikes and she needs rescuing from a housefire, she is swept off her feet (literally and figuratively) by not just a firefighter, but also by her best friend's brother/the one that got away, Owen. This is the second firefighter romance with a MC named Owen (THINGS YOU SAVE IN A FIRE) that I've read, so now I'm beginning to wonder if all firemen are named Owen.

I personally liked Owen more than Emmy as I sometimes viewed her character as immature and a little unrealistic. While there were a a couple parts that showed how traumatized she was by the fire, I don't think her realistic response to something that horrifying would be thinking about falling in love with the one rescuing her, and maybe I just didn't like knowing her inward thoughts all the time.

I also don't think it's very believable that Emmy's best friend wouldn't know that she was in love with her brother and that they had a period of time where they were super close friends (when even their mom knew about all of it). There's just no way my best friend and my brother could have a secret friendship for years that my mom knew about and not me (maybe I'm projecting, LOL).

While the cover is full of fall vibes, there wasn't much in the book that was fall specific so it could definitely be enjoyed year-round.

This is part of a series but all by different authors and all can be read as standalones.

Thank you so much to Sweethaven Press for the free book in exchange for an honest review!

Emmy is a hopeless romantic. She even has her own podcast even though it’s a secret. When her house catches fire, she is rescued by a firefighter. Not just any firefighter, but Owen Larabee, the man she told her feelings to on his wedding day after being jilted by his bride. They haven’t seen each other since then, it’s been 8 years. They restart their friendship. Owen is practical and broody. He doesn’t go in for that romantic stuff. As they work together on repairing Emmy’s house and other projects their relationship grows and they find that maybe you can be practical and romantic after all.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I absolutely loved this book! It is a great second chance romance. I felt like the characters were very well developed. I loved both Owen and Emmy. Their relationship is beautiful, I loved the development from friendship to more. I also loved how each of them saw their own faults and changed themselves. The story was wonderfully written, very engaging and entertaining with lots of romance. Definitely recommend!

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley and Courtney for my review copy!
This is quite possibly one of the easiest five stars I have ever given a book, ever.
Courtney, everything about this book was truly wonderful and made my heart happy scream with joy! I had such a fun time reading this and this will probably be in my top 10 for the year!

I’ve been making my way through the Sweater Weather series recently, and after finding the first book good but the second underwhelming, I didn’t have the highest expectations for next book, but damn, I’m glad I lowered them because this made this book all that more romantic and enjoyable and sweet. I was hooked from the literal first page.
Everything from the unique writing style, characters, the romance, the tropes, the plot, it was all perfect for me!

The premise of this one DEFINITELY intrigued me. I mean, bookish heroine and a firefighter hero? SOLD. SAY NO MORE. Dual POV and NO third act break-up?? Even better.
The storyline was truly exquisite and I honestly just want to live in Harvest Hollow now because WHY don’t these men exist?!

Random points:
Emmy and Owen I love you guys so so so much and you deserve the WORLD!
Mack you are hilarious.
This was SUCH a slow burn but I rather enjoyed it. It only made the romance between these two blossom even more.
I adored the email and text snippets we got to see too.
I want a sequel about Mack please Courtney thank you.
The podcast and everything was so cute I could not

This book really has it all:
-fall vibes...CHECK
-best friend's brother trope...CHECK
-dreamy firefighter...CHECK
-sweet and swoony romance...CHECK CHECK CHECK

I actually think Courtney Walsh hits it out of the park every time, but this one in particular really nailed it for me! I loved Owen Larrabee more than words could say. The slowburn kept me reading up until the wee hours of the night, and I immediately want to re-read it. What more could you ask for in a book? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

'Can't Help Falling' is a very sweet book that makes you adore its romance and with which you spend a very pleasant reading time.

I had high expectations for this book because I was seeing it everywhere both on tiktok and Instagram, but in the end it was a book that felt a little bit bare bones to me. I thought it was a very sweet and cute romance, but I didn't really feel a connection to the characters or their story, and I think that's what made me disappointed in the end.

For me it has been a story that went from high to low completely. It starts off very powerful, we get to know the characters, I think they have a lot of chemistry at the beginning and the story really has potential. But as the pages go by, the story goes downhill and I really ended up not understanding where all these feelings that the characters are having come from. It's like the story didn't really make sense to me and that's why I couldn't really enjoy it.

I feel like I'm the discordant note because all the comments I've seen about the story are wonderful, and I really don't think it's a bad story. I enjoyed it, it just wasn't a book that I adored. I mean, I don't think it's a book I'm going to reread in the future or a book I'm going to think about too much. But it is a nice, light book that I think a lot of people can enjoy. If it's not a book that thrills me, at the very least it's a book that makes you have a good time.

If you want to know the true meaning of "will they or will they not” and "Slow Burn" with capital letters, this is your book. A book for those who are not afraid of feeling so many sparks and being about to get burned with so much chemistry
.
But it's a close door, so that long-awaited kiss and touch of the fingertips will leave your heart super tender.
.
Emmie owns a book store in the town of Harvest Hollow, where the entire Sweater Weather series takes place, and has a secret relationship podcast where she advises on romance .She can give advice based on her passion for romance books, but in real life she prefers to stay on the other side.
.
After confessing her feelings and being rejected, she prefers it that way. But when her house catches fire and she is rescued by the same person who broke her heart, all of Emmie's safe walls begin to weaken.
.
Owen returned to town after having left years ago and on one of his first days of work as a firefighter he had to rescue his little sister's best friend, the girl he left behind a long time ago, or at least that's what he thought, because being so close and having to face so many people from the past everything seems to come back to him but with a totally different notion
.
Little sister best friend, fall vibes, friends to lovers, second chance romance, hot firefighter, nerdy bookworm heroine in a picturesque Small town with beautiful characters.
.
Each writer has a different style but in this series each book has its character and combines perfectly giving those cozy fall vibes and hope of falling in love
.
Thanks to Courtney Walsh for give me a copy of this beautiful book exchange of my voluntary and honest opinion
