No secret that I am a huge Tahereh Mafi fan when it comes to her first book, Shatter Me, and the first two books in this series. The author has a wonderful pairing of intelligence, skill with language, and impeccable pacing. Her descriptions are vivid and as far from cliche as you can get, and her characters have so many layers and facets that it's rather emotionally exhausting trying to hang in there until you can get some closure (which clearly isn't coming until the end of the series and that isn't now in case you were wondering...)!

All This Twisted Glory surprised me in where it chose to begin, but the opening scene gave a fascinating and much-appreciated filter to layer over the rest of the story. All the characters I have enjoyed on two read-throughs each of the first two books are there, continuing to surprise as we see they're far from staying in the initial boxes we'd like to put them in. Sometimes Mafi's penchant for making her characters go from feeling like the hero to the villain and back again, plus just flat out confusing with the motivations of others, is frustrating but it's in the best way possible.

Enjoy this chance to spend more time with Alizah, Cyrus, and Kamran, but good luck not getting so immersed that it's painful when you reach the end and have to crawl back into the real world and wait until the next book comes out...

Oh wow!!!!
This book was absolutely swoony the whole way through!!
I need to know how many books there are going to be because I don't think my heart can take it anymore!!
I will say, while this was lush and romantic, it did tend to feel as if the story wasn't really going anywhere. I feel like nothing much has changed, only some small things resolved. We are learning more about Cyrus, though. So that's a plus I suppose?
I do absolutely adore this series and hope for more meaty events in the next.
