This was a solid debut about a woman who devotes her life to getting revenge against terrible men - a self-proclaimed 'Lady Justice.' She jumps at the chance to get the ultimate revenge against the man who raped her sister and ropes her best friend into helping her one last time. Steamier than I was expecting for a romantic suspense - this had strong thriller and romance aspects and will definitely mark this author as one to watch! Good on audio too. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

Just WOW! What a crazy great audio book! My first by this author but definitely not my last. Fresh new take on a fabulous vigilante. This story hit all the feels. Well written and well delivered. I enjoyed the narrator very much. Thank you NetGalley, Katherine Olson and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this cracker of a book.

I loved this book!!
I guess I've been on a good roll, as I've had a couple of 4-5 star reads in a row, but this one was terrific!! And I believe this is the first I've read by this author.

Dylan is a tough girl! But she became this way after her sister was hurt many years ago. She has taken on the job of a 'revenge seeker' where when people get hurt, she assists them in getting revenge on the person...but not by killing them...but by mortifying them...or making their lives change forever...similarly to what happened to her sister.

She has a side-kick named Daniel who is her 'digital investigator', and damn, he does a good job!

We follow them as they get clients and change lives...until one day a name comes up that she NEVER wanted to hear again. The name of the guy who hurt her sister.
Can you avenge him for the new client?
Will she be able to face him again?
Can she get away with it?

Tune in to see what happens!!

Loved the flow of the book. Loved how it was like I was reading two books in one...the story with the clients, and the story with Dylan and Daniel...

Thanks to #NetGalley and #DreamscapeMedia for an ARC of the audiobook which released 10.11.23.

#CloseEnoughToHurt by #KatherineOlson. Narrated by #EmmaLove who also did a phenomenal job.

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!!!

Welcome to the world, Lady Justice! I love a good revenge book, and Close Enough to Hurt checks off all the necessary elements. Dylan is a bad-ass vigilante, working one scumbag at a time to get justice for the women they have wronged. The interplay between Dylan and Daniel is fun and entertaining, and I thoroughly enjoyed the will-they-or-won''t-they dynamic. The plot pacing is perfect, and the ending was everything that I wanted it to be. Close Enough to Hurt is a stong debut from Katherine A. Olsen, and I'm already excited to see if we see Lady Justice again in the future!

Close Enough to Hurt by Katherine A. Olson was a good read/listen. The narrator did a great job of drawing the listener in. Dylan vowed to help others seven years ago after she was not able to help her sister after her attack. Her sister's attacker has now done something else and is in her sights. Dylan takes the case to finally bring justice to her sister and the woman who hired her. Along the way, she finds love and reconnects with the family she has pushed away for so long.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the copy of the audiobook. All opinions are my own. #KatherineAOlson #CloseEnoughtoHurt #NetGalley #DreamscapeMedia

Awesome debut thriller! Dylan Truman, better known as Lady Justice, seeks retribution for her clients. Those that have been bullied, terrorized, preyed upon or taken advantage of in any way. She gets tech help from her bestie, Daniel Haas, and he has a new client for her. Dr. Evelyn Chang has been blacklisted by her former boss, CEO of a pharmaceutical company, Brent Wilder. He also happens to be the one piece of scum that assaulted her sister 15 years ago. Killing 2 birds with one stone, Dylan comes up with a fairly simple plan to take Brent down. But she has to get close to him first. Everything is on the line with this one last case for Lady Justice.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for the audio arc of Close Enough to Hurt by Katherine Olson in exchange of an honest review.

"Katherine A Olson's 'Close Enough to Hurt' is a gripping and compelling novel that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. The story revolves around Dylan Truman, also known as Lady Justice, who takes on the role of a vigilante seeking redemption for women who have been wronged. The complex dynamics between Dylan and her best friend, Daniel, add an extra layer of depth to the narrative. As the plot unfolds, Dylan's personal vendetta against the pharmaceutical CEO, Brent Wilder, takes center stage, intertwining past traumas with a quest for justice. The book skillfully combines elements of suspense, romance, and personal growth, making it impossible to put down. Olson's character development is exceptional, drawing readers in and making them fully invested in the story. 'Close Enough to Hurt' is a must-read for anyone who craves a thrilling and emotionally charged narrative.

Dylan is on a mission to avenge the guy who ruined her sister's life. So I went into this one blind, only requesting it because I loved the cover and what a great decision that was! If you're like me and enjoy thrillers, you need to read this one! It was clever, intensely thrilling and had me hooked right from the start. I highly recommend the audiobook - the narration was fantastic.

Dylan is a total baddie who takes karma into her own hands. She's known as "Lady Justice" and I loved that about her. This story dives deep into her backstory and what happened and why she has taken this route to be "Lady Justice". While there is revenge in the story, but the story also dives a bit into the romance side of Dylan and her handsome man. This is a long listen and I very much appreciated the other side of Dylan and seeing how imperfect she can be at times. Dylan is character that you can't help but root for and I can't wait to see what she's up to next.

The narrator, Emma Love did a wonderful job keeping me engaged when the plot wasn't all thriller and I appreciated that very much. She used a variety of tones and inflections that kept me engaged throughout.

A very special thanks to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the ALC.

Close Enough to Hurt by Katherine A. Olson, an audiobook narrated by Emma Love was OMG! And I mean - OMG! My anxiety was sky-high! Emma Love made fantastic narration so all together this book just blew my mind!
This is a fantastic example of how to put together a psychological thriller and romance where you receive an equal amount of everything!
I am not a massive fan of spicy scenes as I am not a fan of over-the-top ones, but full respect for spice as it was not too much and not too less, it wasn't brutal or naive! It was exactly enough!

Dylan or Lady Justice is the person who will stand tall to get down people who escaped justice after treating someone unfairly (assault, harassment, bullying, abuse, etc). She is the superstar in her business as she takes time to concentrate on details and learn to know her clients. Of course, she can't manage all on her own so Daniel is a part-time help but he must quit as he must fulfill a different path in his life. Daniel is happy to stay for one last case against pharmaceutical CEO Brent Wilder. The case that Dylan takes is way too personal. Dylan starts to dance with fire and Daniel is truly worried about her safety! How this dance will end you will know after finishing this nail-biting, on-edge-sitting thriller with heartwarming/heart-breaking elements!

This was a fantastic journey, massive thank you NetGalley, Katherine A. Olson, Emma Love, and Dreamscape Media for this fantastic audiobook!

This is a really fun story about Dylan (aka “Lady Justice,” avenging angel and vigilante for those who have been denied justice in the world, especially women. Dylan has a helper/accomplice, Daniel, who is a computer genius, moonlighting from his day job at Apple to help Dylan deliver justice. Of course, Daniel is somewhat attractive, and an unrequited romance is part of the fun as Dylan and Daniel team up on a case that hits close to home for Dylan, who was motivated to start all this by a family trauma years ago that may be linked to her current case.

I really liked the snappy writing, quick plotting, and unique characters. I also always enjoy a “lady vengeance” type of plot, and this once comes through with a satisfying ending. There is just enough romance to do some spice without derailing the pace or the suspense. I enjoyed the book a lot. Katherine Olson is a writer to watch!

You know I’m a fan of vigilante justice in my thrillers so I’ve been excited to read this one! I really liked Dylan’s character (aka Lady Justice) and was immediately hooked as I learned how she expertly doled out well-deserved revenge. Then the romance took over and unfortunately slowed the pace down quite a bit. Overall though, this was a fun read. I’d recommend going with the book over audio though because the narrator’s voice when she read Brent’s parts was really cringey!

I had the pleasure of listening to an ARC of Close Enough to Hurt by Katherine A Olsen. Dylan, aka Lady Justice, had built a career out of helping women avenge the wealthy, high status men that have mistreated them and otherwise gotten away with it. When she takes on a mark who's past wrongdoings bit a little io close to home, she makes it her goal to run his life, even if she risks her own life in the process.

I enjoyed this audiobook. The main character, Dylan feels relatable and the narrator had good tonality to match the personality and image of Dylan that I had in my mind. The end felt slightly anticlimactic but all in all this was a good book!

Close Enough To Hurt tells the story of Dylan Truman, better known as her alias, Lady Justice. Alongside her best friend, Daniel, she works for women who have been wronged, seeking retribution for them. A woman comes to her with a complaint against pharmaceutical CEO Brent Wilder and Dylan finds things getting personal. Years before, Brent assaulted Dylan's sister and got away with it; so she is keen to make him pay. Along the way, Dylan realises that her feelings for Daniel are more than just friends.

I really enjoyed this book; the premise was new and exciting and I really enjoyed listening to the story play out. The characterisation was excellent and I was fully invested in every aspect of the story, from getting revenge on Brent to Dylan and Daniel's relationship. I'm not usually one for romance novels, but I was SO keen to know what happened with Dylan and Daniel.

The book was full of drama and I enjoyed every minute.

My thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for sending me this ARC in return for an honest review.

The villain was hateable and the narration was okay but I just wasn't feeling this book. I love the concept. Maybe I should try this as an Ebook to get a better feel for the story that way.
I just wasn't feeling this one and I am having a hard time explaining why.

Lady Justice aka Dylan Truman, is a vigilante for hire. Working for mostly women, she strikes fear into the heart of every cheat, thief, and bully in the area. Now, her new client has a fraud complaint against a huge pharmaceutical CEO. And now, Dylan is up for some revenge of her own. In the past that same CEO assaulted her sister and now Dylan intends to make sure he pays. Up until now, Dylan has been working with her BFF, Daniel, but he’s ready to leave and strike out on his own. She needs not only Daniels, professional expertise, Dylan has begun to realize that her feelings for him go far beyond those of a boss for an employee. When it comes down to it, is Dylan more interested in revenge or in the man she loves? A fantastic, empowering story

First let me separate my review for the audiobook and the book. The plot and pace of the book was great and I really though the story was a great debut. It has bites of romance and lots of revenge!

Now as I listened to it as an audiobook, the narrator really didn’t do the book justice! When the narrator talked in a man’s voice it was just cringe worthy and I just wanted to be done with the book when those parts came up. If I was just rating the book, overall it would have been 4 stars for me but because I was not a fan of the narrator, my overall rating was 3 stars due to the la k of enjoyable listening experience. I would recommend if you pick up this book, read it rather than listen to the audiobook.

*****Many thanks to Dreamscape Media for my ALC in turn for an honest opinion.

Close Enough To Hurt
Katherine A. Olson
Lady Justice is an apt name for Dylan Truman. She has made a career out of working for the oppressed and destroying the oppressor. She is revenge-for-hire. Dylan lives on a houseboat in Sausalito, CA. Daniel Haas is her best friend and favorite hacker. Clients come to her seeking revenge.
A new client approaches Dylan asking for help to get justice against her boss Brent Wilder. Usually there is a charge for justice/revenge but Dylan offers to do this one Pro Bono. She is familiar with Brent’s name. Several years ago, Dylan’s sister was raped at knife point; she has the scar to prove it. However, Brent was not prosecuted. Finally, Dylan can get the satisfaction of bringing down Brent.
Pretending to be a socialite, Dylan rents the mansion next door to Brent. She changes her hair color, makeup and style of dressing. She knows what Brent likes. Her plan is to get into his laptop and steal information proving he is committing fraud. Brent erratic behavior.
Daniel gently explains to Dylan that he is ready to settle down. He wants a wife and children; he wants a stable life. Dylan is heartbroken, Daniel is more than her partner, more than a hacker, Daniel is the man she loves. It took her a while to figure that out. Dylan knows Daniel needs more than she can give him; it would be best to just walk out of his life or make changes in her life.
Daniel is the perfect male. He’s good looking, respectful, sweet, smart, and apparently good in bed. Dylan has a lot of issues from her past, mostly from her sister’s assault. There is only one person that truly knows Dylan, Daniel. Their love for each other is sweet, hot, and passionate. Despite her love for Daniel and the chance she could lose him she is determined to bring down Brent. Dylan is intelligent and self-confident. She makes this book work. The plot is well done and perfectly planned. This book should win awards! The timing is perfection, the plot is perfection, the characters are perfection. Kudos to author Katherine A. Olson.

This is a fast-paced and riveting thriller with some hot sex and romance!

Dylan—aka Lady Justice—helps women get revenge. If you’ve been wronged by abusive, nefarious men, she’s your gal! Her unconventional career choice came about after an event with her sister that was never satisfactorily resolved. Her charming and great-looking best friend Daniel assists her and she has an intense attraction to him.

When Daniel refers her to a new target, Lady Justice recognizes him as the man who victimized her sister years ago and she’s ready to seek revenge.

This is a well-written debut that had me mesmerized until LJ and Daniel started their sizzling relationship. The author heats up the pages with the hot and heavy sex between these two. If you like wild and heated romantic thrillers, you will love this one but it isn’t my cup of tea.

Sincere thanks to Dreamscape Media for this complimentary audio ARC provided through NetGalley. As always, all opinions are my own and are left voluntarily.
