Okayy I am going to keep this review short, simple, and straight too the point. This book was an emotional roller coaster that kept me on the edge of my seat. L.J. Shen is a master of writing angsty, twisted, and steamy romances that make you feel everything. The characters are flawed, complex, and realistic, and their chemistry is off the charts. The plot is gripping, suspenseful, and unpredictable, and it deals with some sensitive and dark topics that may not be for everyone. The writing is beautiful, poetic, and captivating, and it draws you into the world of the characters. I gave this book 4 stars because I enjoyed it a lot, but I also had some issues with it. I felt that some parts were too rushed, some scenes were too graphic or disturbing for my taste, and some actions or reactions of the characters were not very consistent. I also wished that there was more development of the secondary characters and the epilogue was longer and more satisfying. However, these are just my personal opinions and preferences, and they did not ruin my overall reading experience.
I was not prepared for this one. Man that was amazing. I finished it in a few hours and am on to the next one. I can not get enough of this. So amazing.
this was a DNF for me so I'm giving a neutral rating of 3 stars. I've read one other book in this series and i think this kind of romance just isn't for me which is okay! it's pretty dark and everyone is so mean lol but i love lj shen's other books!
Now that I finished reading AG, I have such a bittersweet feeling. These characters made such a huge impact that I'll never be able to say goodbye too.
On to the review....I was expecting A LOT for Vaughn and Lenora's love story. Vaughn was such a mysterious man ever since I read about him in Pretty Reckless. He was a huge jerk in Broken Knight. Lol Lenora bantering with Vaughn was PERFECTION! and boy did they explode in Angry God. I'm someone who can't really read bullying books so it took me at least 3 days to finish it. ๐
My anxiety was so high, and my heart was beating so fast. Vaughn is totally Vicious' son. I seriously felt he's more vicious than Vicious. Lol I love a hero who have a lot of layers. Lenora does not back down at all! She's legit on par with Vaughn every step. You'll have to read to experience the craziness they bring to the table. Lol I FREAKING LOVE Vaughn and Lenora! They complete one another beautifully in their own messed up way. ๐ญ Vicious as a father...GOALS!โฃ

I'll have to say though, I feel something is missing. It hits me, but not as much as Pretty Reckless and Broken Knight. Everyone have their own opinions, but my rank of the 3 books in ALL Saint High series...Pretty Reckless, Broken Knight, and then Angry God.
I still preferred Pretty Reckless to this one, but it was still good. Vaughn is something else. Looking forward to continuing with the other two in this series, as theyโve just arrived.
I apologize in advance for the late review. I thought it had posted, but something didn't go through right and it never posted.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and getting to read more about these characters. It had me invested page after page to know what was going to happen next. Thank you Netgalley for an arc of this book.
Loooove LJ SHen! She is an automatic up for me and did not disappoint with this one. If you havenโt heard of this series I suggest reading all of them because they are all worth the read! (I have physical and digital copies of them all!) I can not recommend this series enough to people.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book is part of the All Saints High series but can be read stand alone.
Vaughan is such a complex dark character with secrets from his past that have shaped his character. Len is caught in the middle of it all, feels attracted to him while wanting nothing to do with him, and is confused by it all.
Check the triggers before picking this one up because there are some very dark, triggering topics. I couldn't put this one down and had to know what the full story was. Vaughan is the tortured soul you just want to hug and protect, while Len is the perfect person to do that.
Angry God is the third book in the All Saints High series, but it can be read as a standalone.
LJ Shen sure knows how to write angsty, messy characters, and this was no exception.
Vaughn Spencer and Lenora both had anger in them, and they clashed a lot. But under that anger was a world of pain, especially for Vaughn.
Lenora was so strong. Always giving back what was thrown at her. Never giving in to the threats, the taunts, the cruelty from others. She could hold her own.
Vaughn. Oh, how my heart broke for this boy. He was awful, but he had every right to be. He was damaged and broken, but he had such a big heart. His backstory ๐๐.
This was heartbreaking, raw, emotional, and beautiful.
Angry God is one of my favourite L.J. Shen books, this series is high up there. I adored the added content and always enjoy reading anything and everything from this author.
I feel like this L.J She's best work as of yet the steam, the angst and the build up was so good. I loved the main characters and loved how the plot also played a role in this series.
If you are looking for a good steamy romance this one's for you.
Angry God by L.J. Shen is book Three in the All Saints High Series. This is the story of Lenora and Vaughn. This book did not disappoint. Lenora was a the perfect heroine and just what Vaughn needed. Loved this series and this author's writing.
This is book three in the series and while I read it as a stand-alone, I feel like I want to go back and read the other two. While some of the tropes listed arenโt ones Iโm into this wasnโt a bad read.
What can you say? This book has it all! It will draw you in and captivate you the entire time youโre reading!
Thank you to NetGalley and L.J. Shen for the third book in the All Saints High series. I believe I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first two books. I think by far it was my favorite in the series. Out of all the MMCs and FMCs Vaughn and Lenora were my favorite. The story and plot twists that kept coming at me kept me intrigued and fascinated with the story. My heart breaks for Vaughn and his traumas. He didnโt deserve what happened to him. Lenora is my favorite out of all of the girls because sheโs so strong and doesnโt take anyoneโs crap. I canโt wait to continue to read this series when the final book Damaged Goods comes out soon!

Angry God is book 3 of the All Saints High Series and follows academic rivals Vaughn Spencer and Lenora Astalis. Vaughn was โฏ๐โฏ๐๐๐๐ฝ๐พ๐๐ I was expecting him to be and so much more! I really liked Lenora and the banter between these two was on point. That handcuff scene was absolute ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ While I did love the previous books in the series(especially Broken Knight) a bit more than this one, this was still a great addition to the series and just as beautifully written as the others. 4โญ๏ธ

"Angry God" by L.J. Shen explores first love, second chances, and overcoming losses. Vaughn Spencer, an angry god, clashes with Lenora. The story delves into dark high school romance, tackling sensitive subjects. While some found the plot intense with captivating characters, others struggled with Vaughn's actions. A mix of emotions, it's either a win or miss, depending on your taste for angsty, enemies-to-lovers romance. The powerful writing and unforgettable moments make it worth a read.
My Thoughts: "Angry God" intrigued me with Vaughn's complex character, yet his harsh actions posed a challenge. Lenora's strength stood out, and the evolving romance, though intense, had memorable moments. The latter part was a redeeming factor, adding layers to Vaughn's character. LJ Shen's writing, while not my favorite, still delivered a rollercoaster of emotions. Overall, a mixed experience, but the unique characters and gripping scenes make it worthwhile for fans of angsty romance.
This is the third book in the All Saints High series. While it can be read as a stand alone, it makes a little more sense if read after the first two. Vaughn and Lenny have such an interesting relationship throughout the book and there's a "secret" that is referenced for the first half that makes you feel like you might have missed something, but fear not! The reveal takes place in the second half and once all the pieces fall into place, you literally won't be able to put the book down.
Another win for L.J. Shen!
Loved this one. This author is the absolute best. She keeps you on the edge the whole book. Vaughn and Carlisle are off the charts!!
Talk about a book I couldn't put down!!! This interconnected standalone is the 3rd All Saints High book and a spin-off of Sinners of Saint....which I began reading in 2019 and was waiting for this original release in 2020 but life and other books happen. I regret not making this book a priority.
This is a bully romance with an anti-hero, this is not a light read and there are content warnings. It's dark but not too dark. What it has is ANGST! The angst was so good.
Spencer is 100% his father's son. He's ruthless and doesn't hold back. Lenny is strong, feisty, and doesn't hold back either.
From the plot to the character development, everything was well-written. There is spice but this story is plot and character-driven. The steam isn't the focus and adds to this a slow burn tension-filled story.
I felt every bit of the tension, angst, anger, and hurt. The HEA at the end was so worth it.
Written in first-person, dual POV. With two chapters from Spencer's parent's (Vicious) PoV.
