Blair and Evianna are sisters Blair is a social worker living in Seattle. Evianna is very successful social media influencer living in Orlando with her husband Simon.
Blair has long been second best so no surprise that they are not all that friendly as adults. So it actually works out that they live on opposite sides of the country.
Blair is surprised when she gets a call from Evianna telling her she has terminal cancer has only a short time to live and asks Blair to come right away.
As Blair is returning back to Seattle she gets another call this time from Evianna’s husband telling her that Evianna is missing.
Blair once again travels to Orlando. When she meets with Simon she is surprised that he wasn’t aware that she had just been there or is he aware than Evianna has cancer. In fact, he doesn’t believe it.
Blair stays in Florida to try to figure out what is going on.
This story had me curious; however, I had a difficult time really connecting with the story as I didn’t like the narrator’s performance of the characters. She actually did a good performance of Simon but as Blair she sounded so angry. True the situation wasn’t fun but toxic; I however reached the point where I really didn’t care what happened with any of them.
I wonder if I would have enjoyed this if I read it.
This was my first story by Ms. Poirier but I will give her another chance as I believe my lack of enjoying this story was not due to her writing.
Want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Select, Bookouture for this early audiobook.

This was my first Dea Poirer book. It was an easy listen. I enjoyed the interesting plot of this dual timeline mystery.
From the moment I was born, I knew that I would always come second to my sister. Bright, popular, beautiful – she has always been everything that I’m not. But when she vanishes without a trace I know deep down I’m the only person who can find her.
I haven’t spoken to my sister Evianna in years, not since a shocking accident tore our lives apart and sent us to opposite sides of the country. For years I have worked as a social worker and Evianna is a successful online celebrity. Our lives couldn’t be more different.
But then I get the call. Evianna is missing and her husband Simon needs my help. Arriving at their palatial home, I expect to find Simon wracked with worry for her safety but if anything he seems more worried about what her devoted fans will think.
Scratching beneath the surface of their picture-perfect life, I discover that they were not the golden couple everyone thought. They had secrets they were desperate to hide. But then again as young sisters, so did we.
As Simon’s behavior becomes more threatening towards me, a feeling of deep dread starts to swell. I think he knows our secret. But how far will he go to make me pay for happened and can I find my sister before it’s too late?
I love novels because they never just call the cops and report someone missing. It is always someone digging deeper and deeper holes and learning a lot about someone they thought they knew.
So our girl's influencer sister disappears, so she is forced to go to her city to look for her. She discovers that her sister has been abused and that she lies online. She digs through her cell phone and her life and just doesn't ever call the cops.
It was fantastic! The narration was spot on!
ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.
The narration for this book fit perfectly for the main character and all the others as well! It was clear and concise and made the book a very easy listen. I really liked the plot of the story! It mainly focuses on two sisters that have been estranged for years and meet up when one of them has a sad cancer diagnosis. Shortly after her sister leaves to fly back home the sick sister’s husband contacts her to come back because she is now missing. I wasn’t sure where parts of this story were headed but really enjoyed all the twists and the ending felt incredibly satisfying! I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes psychological thrillers!
Blair, a social worker, and her sister Evianna, a social media influencer, aren’t close and haven’t spoken for years. But when Evianna tells Blair she’s been diagnosed with cancer and doesn’t have much time. Blair maxes her card to buy a last minute flight from Seattle to Florida to visit her sick sister.
The moment she touches back down in Seattle after the week of bonding and support, Simon - Evianna’s husband - leaves a desperate voicemail that Evianna is missing.
Blair raises the limit on her credit card, takes some more PTO, and heads back to Florida to see how she can help. Because of a past, shared secret that Blair isn’t ready to be found out, she avoids telling the police that her sister is missing and attempts to solve her disappearance herself using her sisters socials and friends for clues.
I loved the flashbacks set against the current setting to better understand Blair’s bizarre motives for not involving the police right away. The logic here is quite thin which took away a star for me.
Overall, despite guessing the ending early on, I enjoyed the book and found it hard to put down. Earlier this year I read the Marriage Counsellor by the same author (and hated it) and am happy I gave Dea another chance.
Thank you to Net Galley and Bookouture for ARCs of the audiobook version of “Have You Seen Her?” by Dea Poirier. I loved the narrator. For me, this book gets a 3.5⭐️/5! The story captured my attention and I ended up binging the whole book in one day.
Blair has been estranged from her sister, Evianna for years, since an accident drove a wedge between them. Blair is a social worker and her sister, leads a very different life as a wealthy socialite. Still, when Blair discovers that her sister is missing, Blair rushes to her sisters, husbands side. Blair soon realizes that her sister‘s life is not at all what she thought and that her sister’s husband is hiding some very dark secrets. Twisty and engaging.
This is a gripping psychological thriller told in first person point of view. A woman's sister, Evianna, goes missing. Evianna is a social media influencer with a huge following. She hasn't been friends with her sister pretty much ever, so I am not sure why she went to search for her, nor why she stayed so long looking. Unfortunately, none of the characters are likable to me, not even the main character. There are several twists and turns and frightening moments that make it exciting. The ending is satisfying.
I listened to this ARC on audio, and the narrator, Amelia Sciandra, didn't do the book any favors. Her reading was monotonous without enough inflection of emotion. I have not docked the rating for this, however. I recommend this book, but not the audio version.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Select for this ARC in exchange for my review.
Thanks to #NetGalley and #DreamscapeSelect for the audio ARC of #HaveYouSeenHer by #DeaPoirier. This is a very captivating book with lies, relationships and evil. You never really know what is going on in others heads and actions. I highly recommend.
This is a fun read that keeps you guessing.
It’s a fast paced story full of deceit, secrets, and unhealthy people having unhealthy relationships.
Poirier addresses the very topical issue of AI and deepfakes in the age of social media - what happens when we can’t trust our own eyes and ears? The book was chock full of unlikable characters, but we’re worried for the protagonist, so we keep reading.
The final twist was very excepted, but with an unexpected wrinkle. This isn’t really a whodunnit, it’s a howdunnit and Poirier pays off our curiosity with an answer that, if we’d been reading more carefully, we could have suspected all along.
Thanks, NetGalley and Dreamscape, for the free ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Have You Seen Her by Dea Poirier was an interesting and exciting thriller. This is the second book I've read by this author so I know I'll have to check out more soon. I'm not a social media expect but it's clear the author put a lot of research into social media influencers and the inner workings of the job. I thought Blair was a really likeable character from early on so I enjoyed following her point of view as she searched for answers about her missing sister. The dual timelines helped unravel so much of the mystery but I still couldn't guess the ending, which was great. I think my only hang up for this one is wishing Blair had just gone straight to the cops in the beginning. That aside, I definitely recommend for fans of thrillers and family drama.
