This Amish matchmaker is an expert at finding love for others, but will she find it for herself? It’s about two Amish sisters who are matchmakers and widows but they’re both in their 70’s.

Thank you Netgalley and Zondervan Publishing for sending me this audio ARC in exchange for an honest review! I DNF’d this book at 65% because it’s not for me. It’s a nice story but it’s a slow paced book. I don’t feel emotionally invested in this story or what’s going on with the characters. This book wasn’t for me but that doesn’t mean someone else won’t like it. The audience that would enjoy this book would be people who like a slow paced Amish romance with characters who are older.

This was a delightful story. I enjoyed the banter between characters and liked that they were older rather than young. The narrator was great as well!

Such a feel good heart warming story!!

Narration was excellent!!!

So much depth and relativity written into the characters and the storyline. Was fun and easy to follow. Some emotional scenes for sure but overall such joy and goodness in the writing. Really enjoyed the quirkiness and sister relationship between Esther and Lizzie!! So cute! Young love and old love too!! Definitely recommend!

Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collin’s Christian publishing for my advanced audio copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Widowed sisters Esther and Lizzie run a bed and breakfast in their Amish community and are known for being matchmakers. When retired dentist Benjamin Stoltzfus rents a cottage on their property, each woman thinks she should set up her sister with Dr. Stoltzfus. When his granddaughter Mindy visits him, she finds herself attracted to Gabriel, a young man in the Amish community. Dr. Stoltzfus and Mindy are not Amish, however; will any of them be able to find love, or will the difference in lifestyles lead to broken hearts?

This book is part of a series but can easily be read as a standalone. One thing I liked about this book is that we had some older protagonists. Other than that, I would consider it a pretty standard Amish book, with not much to make it stand out from other Amish stories. If you like Amish books, give this one a try.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an audio ARC of this book.

This was such a refreshing book to read. Romance and friendship that can occur at an older age. I loved the characters and found them quirky and fun. Very entertaining.

This was a sweet story of embracing one's roots and finding love and companionship in our latter years.

Ben has returned to the Amish community he once thought he would join, until he met his wife and chose to marry the Englisher. Now widowed after 52 years of marriage, he is contemplating joining the community and the familiar ways of his childhood.

As a friendship develops between Ben and his two landlords (widowed, matchmaking sisters who vie for Ben's attention), they each bring hope to the other for the future as they face life's challenges head-on.

For the most part, it was a very enjoyable story, but I did find it hard to believe that the matchmakers had no issues matching their people with Englishers.

Thank you to Beth Wiseman, HarperCollins and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

The Amish Matchmakers was an easy listening and heartwarming listen. Lauren Berst added a great flow to the details of the entire family and community much like a snuggly blanket. Thank you Netgally for this wonderful listen.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book.

Beth Wiseman is one of my must-read Amish writers, and when I read the synopsis, I wanted to read this one. It was available on audio, so I snapped it up and am glad I did.

I typically listen to my audio books for a half hour before bed each night as a ritualistic winding down. I could not wait each night and found myself adding more time each night as I was caught up in the story. I was sad when this one ended and will be seeking more audio books by Beth.

Highly recommend.

An absolutely wonderful story with great narratives. The different voices were good and I look forward to the next installment.

I enjoyed listening to this book. It is a light-hearted story. It isn't a deep or thought-provoking story but fun. The narration was well done.
This is Christian genre but not at all preachy. The story flowed well and kept my interest. I to this on a road trip to visit my mother in law and it kept the boredom at bay.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting an easy read/listen story. It is clean and well written even if not totally believable.
I give this a solid 3.5 out of 5-star review.

This is such a wonderful book! It is part of ones that you can keep finding out about the same characters. This would be one that you can start to read and get to know them!

One of the absolute best books Ive read this year. Truly. Sometimes you just want to read a good love story. One filled with that butterfly feeling and not filled with smut and profanity and this was it. It was a non traditional love story and I think it made it even better. It wasn't the typical 18 year olds falling in love and it just warmed my heart beyond measure. I wanted it to keep on going! The characters were just so relatable. It's not my typical read, but now it makes me want to read even more!

The Amish Matchmakers is a delightful read about two matchmaking Amish widows who have the tables turned on them. The characters are loveable and entertaining. The secondary characters and romance were equally as engaging and balanced the book nicely! This book had a few serious points that made it a bit more than a nice, fluffy romance. I enjoyed those points as they prompted me to do some deeper thinking, as well.
I highly recommend this book!

Loved the narrator and the storyline. Very well written and the narrator made me want to listen more than I should. This is a great book for empty nest females and one can do their crafting hobbies while listening to this book. Such a calming book and yes I think this book would be appreciated by all ages.

So…I was holding off on this one, as I thought I was not going to love it. I do like the Amish crafts, and appreciate their way of life…but a book about this?? Really?? Well, I wasn’t sure.

Well…I was TOTALLY WRONG!!
I loved this book!!

It had me chuckling SO MANY times throughout!
It also made me laugh. Out Loud!! Brought me to tears. And…made me think more about God…and their simpler way of life and living…

Esther and Lizzie are widowed sisters, in their 70’s (I think) who run The Peony Inn. Esther is quieter and sweet. Lizzie is a hell raiser…or spirited, as they say! 😂 Quite the pair!

Dr. Ben has just rented one of their cottages for six months! Not only are they interested in seeing what makes him tick…but, he’s HANDSOME too!!

His granddaughter Mindy has recently moved to the area in pursue of a nursing degree…and he wants to be close with her as he’s getting older…

Did I mention that Esther and Lizzie are known as the town matchmakers??

Only one problem! They are Amish. Ben is not!

The story progresses and you feel like you are there, living it with them, thru the good and bad…

Beautifully written.
Loved each and every character…and that is rare (for me!)
Brought out ‘all the feels’…

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!

The Amish Matchmakers is an adorable feel good story. I truly enjoyed listening to the book. The narrator did a great job of voicing all of the characters. The characters are so very likeable. Especially, the older and quirky Lizzy. I think anyone who wants a fun escape from reality will enjoy this light hearted, and heart warming read.
*I was given a copy of the audio version of the book and this is my honest opinion.

I have read several Beth Wiseman books and at first, I thought this one wouldn't work for me. However, I grew to love the characters and loved that they grew as the story progressed. I liked the book!

I am a big fan of Beth Wiseman’s books and this one is another great read! I enjoyed reading this book, mostly because of the likable characters. Esther and Lizzie, especially Lizzie, are very different than most characters in Amish fiction. The characters are so personable that I want them to be my friends. I highly recommend this book to everyone! Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley,Thomas Nelson, Zondervan Audio and the author Beth Wiseman for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for my honest review. This book is a sweet story about life and love in the Amish culture. It is beautifully written and a wonderful story about two Amish sisters, an English man who moves into one of their cottages, his young adult granddaughter and a young adult Amish man. Years ago, I had an Amish friend and this book brought me back to the days we spent together before I moved away. While I do not read Christian fiction, I sure do love a good Amish story and this author tells it well. (Review also posted on Goodreads.)
