This is the 3rd and final book in the Designing Debutantes series about sisters Diana, Eliza, and Verity. In this novel, Verity gets her happy ending with Rafe Wolfford, a spy and military man, but also the heir to a Viscount.

For me this book was not really all that interesting, the insta-attraction between the leads wasn't believable and their chemistry seemed forced. Verity figures out that Rafe is a spy who appears in the early novels from the 2nd chapter, when we are supposed to believe that Rafe is a master of disguises, a "Chameleon". He also bungles a piece of info that he shouldn't know, but reveals that he does, which doesn't seem like a mistake an experienced master of espionage should make.

The "conflict" that will supposedly keep them from enjoying marital bliss is resolved within one healthy conversation (don't get me wrong, I love when a hero and heroine show themselves to be good communicators), but the conflict is a reach and from the first page you know their HEA is basically assured. So there's no real tension and the sex scenes were very late in the book and not all that spicy for me.

I know this all sounds like I hated this book, but I didn't. It just wasn't a memorable read for me, certainly not one of Jeffries best.

Thank you to Zebra books and NetGalley for the electronic ARC of this novel for review.

Accidentally His by Sabrina Jeffries.
3.5 starts. An entertaining read but nothing outstanding. A romance between a spy and a feisty woman who has been burned before. Suspicions, secrets and skulking around leads to tension between the main characters until they finally decide to trust as their pretend admiration turns real. A thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Intriguing, fast paced, and mysterious!

The Plot:

Lady Verity is sure the handsome heir to Viscount Wolfford is the man who has been sneaking into all her family’s parties this last year. She cannot be sure, but she intends to find out why this man has been spying on them, and who he really is.

Rafe, has spent the majority of his life in service of his government, when his uncle is shot while investigating British intelligence being relayed to the enemy, Rafe is determined to finish his uncle’s mission. The best way to do that is infiltrate the family of the suspected traitor by pursuing the unmarried Lady Verity.

The Good:

Wow! I loved this book. I adored each and every character. The story was well thought out, the mystery engaging, and the romance compelling. Well done!!

The bad:

I don’t have much to say here to be honest. This book was refreshing.

If you’re a Bridgerton fan, but also like cozy mysteries you will enjoy this read.

“Accidentally His” is the perfect finale for the Designing Debutantes series!

I had huge expectations for this story between the Phantom and Verity Harper and it did not disappoint me at all, on the contrary.

Verity is the youngest and the most direct and intuitive of the Harper sisters. She’s in charge of the catering in their events for Elegant Occasions and it’s the one who is aware of a captivating stranger intruding in their events for over a year.
Rafe Wolfford is a spy working to resolve his uncle’s case while finding the person responsable for his attack and all suspicions point directly to Verity’s family and friends. As Rafe and Verity got to know each other, lust and feelings start to complicate their lives until they have no other option but to confront their fears, feelings and personal resolves in order to find success and happiness.

This books is full of entertaining, hot, and full of suspense scenes surrounded by historical moments with a great narrative.
I personally love “Accidentally His”

With the Bridgerton hype still ongoing, I was curious to see if there were other books in the same style. Pleasantly surprised with this one, although I had my reservations (I'm not a big fan of the cover)...

Since I tend not to judge books by their cover alone, I was intrigued with how Rafe and Verity became more and more three-dimensional and nuanced as the intrigue progressed. Their story starts off exciting and full of promise and by the end of the book, I was so pulled in the action that I traded sleep for the ending.
The writing style was not my favorite, but it didn't prevent me from enjoying the book. Clearly a lot of research has gone into this.
Also ... What on earth is a bathing machine?

Thank you to Sabrina Jeffries and Kensington Books for the ARC

✨HIS NAME IS RAFE✨

Need I say more?? I’ve enjoyed the past two books in this series so much, and thankfully book three was no exception!! I’ve been anticipating this book since I read A Duke for Diana, and it’s such a good feeling getting to the bottom of that Jack in the Green. I just love knowing that this big man was traipsing around as a little bush 😩

I think Verity and Rafe were a good couple together. Sure he was lying about just about everything…but he was endearing and God save the Queen and all that jazz. He was an earnest liar, let’s put it that way. And I’m sorry, but I’ve got no choice but to support (his name was Rafe!!!).

I had a fun time with the mystery of it all, and I’ll admit I was a bit thrown by the villain! I also think I have a feeling where the next book is going to go and let me tell you I am INTRIGUED. Compelled! Sabrina Jeffries absolutely knows how to get me coming back for more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️/5

4 Stars! This is the 3rd book in the ‘Designing Debutantes’ series and can be read as a standalone, for the most part, though it would be better read in order. Verity & Rafe are the main characters and I liked both of them well enough. Verity is a strong, independent, intelligent young woman and she was a perfect main character. Rafe was fun but I have serious concerns on how great of a spy he really is. The bad guy Rafe was trying to find was a surprise though I did have suspicions. After reading of Verity and the ‘Phantom’ for this whole series, I’ll admit this book was a bit anti-climatic for me. Still an interesting book with a few funny and awkward ‘sexy times’ scenes, mystery, secrets, adventure, spying(badly), an HEA ending and much more. Overall, this was an entertaining read that will keep you guessing.

I enjoyed the first two books in this series, and the end to the trilogy did not disappoint. I liked the realistic way that the book navigated Verity wanting to work, and the spy plot was fun. I do think that the line between telling me so much about the previous books that it gets in the way and also making it so I actually remember the other characters is a hard one, and Jeffries navigates it well - the reminders were helpful but not overwhelming.

4.1 stars, rounded up to 5 for a great end to the series and because I'm feeling nice this morning.

I received a free ARC of this novel in exchange for the possibility of a review.

Accidentally His was really hard to get into. The beginning was boring and dry. The cast of characters was vast and confusing. The story finally came together towards the middle of the book.

Well, not the strongest of Jeffries novels novels. This book was cute and enjoyable. It did feel a little bit under developed in someways, possibly rusting on the fact that we’ve gotten to meet the heroine in the previous novels, and so the whole book left me feeling a bit underwhelmed, especially in comparison to other novels from the author were the suspense and intensity is up a notch or two. This one was a pretty light hearted low steaks simple pleasure, kind of book.

This 3rd installment was the best yet! Couldn't wait to start it and couldn't wait to finish it. Worth the read if you are a lover of historical.

Super meh. The first books in this series were definitely better. I didn’t care enough about the spy angle and the plot felt very rushed. Also the cover is horrible.

Accidentally His, the third book in the Designing Debutantes series, is a wonderful story telling how Verity meets Rafe, a man who respects her knowledge and accepts her intelligence. It's nice to have Eliza and Diana very much involved in the story although their presence doesn't overwhelm Verity's story.
If this is the last book in the series it was a wonderful wrap up, Five Stars
My thanks to #NetGalley for allowing me to early read this book for a fair and honest review.

Finally we know who the mystery man is. There is still much to find out. But of course love really helps. A big surprise at the end. Great ending t this series

The final (book 3) in the Designing Debutantes series is a swoony must-read for Regency romance fans. Will Verity and Rafe find true love or stumble over too many barriers on the way? Loved it!

I always enjoy reading a book by Sabrina Jeffries. Her stories are full of romance, humor and banter. Verity and Rafe story is cute and heartfelt with lots of funny moments and sweet if not awkward moments.
Rafe, a spy to the Crown known as “The Chameleon “, is sent to investigate the Harpers sisters event planning company “Elegant Occasions “ and uncover an aristocrat selling English military information to France.
Verity, a clever and perceptive young lady, has noticed a man that she calls “The Phantom” slipping in and out of all the events she hosts. As a heir to a Viscount, Rafe decides to court Verity to further his investigation. Having been jilted previously, Verity is suspicious of Rafe's motives. But slowly, they starts trusting each other and falling in love.
I love when the couples from previous books make an appearance and play a role in the story.
“Accidentally His” is the third and final installment in Sabrina Jeffries' series "Designing Debutantes". It can be read as a standalone but to fully appreciate the experience, I recommend to read the series in order.

Really enjoyed this newest installment of the Designing Debutantes series. It was time for Verity to get her happily ever after. And will she finally figure out who the Phantom is? This series can be read standalone, but is much more enjoyable if all 3 books are read together. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

ahhh sabrina jeffries is a new-to-me author that i recently discovered. having finisbed the previous 2 books in this series without realizing verity's story wasnt out yet, i was distraught. luckily i only had to wait a few weeks to be approved for an early copy and i am so glad that i was! verity and rafe's story was by far one of the more intriguing ones that ive read recently and i absolutely loved the twist at the end. i appreciated all of the characters and clues that were thrown in in order to throw is off from the real culprit at the end and i can totally say i would have never guessed correctly! my only wish is that i could read it all over like it was the first time again!!!

This was light fare as usual, but the story was so convoluted with multiple villains and family secrets and this hero was a pretty terrible spy. She had him pegged in chapter two and then he kept revealing himself and making dumb decisions. If this had been a spy comedy and Jeffries had leaned into the humour, this may have worked. It did have funny moments, some sweet moments and a fast pace, but the smut was awkward (not in a good way) with the curious virgin trope that Jeffries relies on for every single book, but the template didn’t work well for me this time.
Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this final installment of Sabrina Jeffries' "Designing Debutantes" series about three sisters who run an event planning company. I had long suspected that the mysterious stranger Verity kept seeing at events was her allegedly dead fiance. I like that Jeffries decided to go another way. I really liked Rafe and Verity together - she threw him off kilter with her perceptiveness and intelligence and he was great at not letting her simply take over while also respecting all that she had to offer. Some sensuous sexy times and overall just very entertaining.

4.5 stars rounded to 5. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.
