I ate most of this book up in one sitting. It was great. It had me entertained the entire time. I think the reason I gave it four stars is because the characters rubbed me the wrong way. I found Wyatt to be aggravating at times. James just kept popping up out of the grave, and Peter (there’s another spelling but I’ve forgotten it) was just in general a pretty shady dude. He’s the one I’ll give the benefit of the doubt to because he’d been tortured and killed over and over again for two centuries. The three of them together (and most of the time, James wasn’t James. He was this beast that wanted…. blood, by one way or another, it got confusing) was this constant switch from love to hate. I never really knew if they genuinely liked each other until the very end. Now Wyatt and Peter I knew liked each other, as well as loved, so James was just this huge glitch in the matrix that kept popping in, making me confused as to whether they did or didn’t tolerate each other.

I liked the plot, liked reading between the lines, guessing the plot twists (which I did accurately do for the most part). I really did like the ending. It all came full circle like it’s supposed to, and that’s all I’ll say about it. It was generally a great book. Besides the confusion, it was an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend you go buy this when it comes out next April, if you want something that creeps you out, gives you goosebumps, and keeps you on your toes. Happy reading!

Ahhh this book… This was everything atmospheric, ethereal, magical, and heartbreaking. My words cannot possibly do this book justice, but simply put I could not stop reading! The characters were so well written and I loved everything about the bond between Wyatt, James, and Peter. I really enjoyed the duality between the modern time and the ancient setting. It really made Willow Heath feel out of time. The ending absolutely destroyed me, but it was exactly what the story needed. Your Blood, My Bones was my first book by Kelly Andrew, but this immediately propels her onto my autobuy list. Highly recommend!

Sci-Fi, horror and romance? Yes please! And it’s a clean romance with all kinds of messed up situations. You know, the stuff that makes for a good story.
I saw this cover and had to read it. I know, I know it doesn’t take much but I’m a “I love this cover” kind of girl!
This was original with many touching moments. I liked the writing in this a just didn’t want it to end. The MC are three kids that form a strong bond because of basically a forced proximity. I found the entire story fascinating and couldn’t put it down. 4.5⭐️
I definitely recommend this one.

From a completely complimentary perspective: what the actual heck did I just read.

I think I'm a changed person. A brutally brilliant cottagecore horror that mixes the sweet tinge of love with the unescapable strokes of death in a bloody display that left me wanting to melt into the floor. The twisted nature of the magic present in this world is so deeply terrifying and exactly the kind of fathomless darkness that I adore. It's the perfect kind of "what the actual heck is this" disturbing.

All of this is made to be so brilliant by the true, masterful quality of the prose, with emotion balanced on the edge of gut-wrenching descriptions that had me chocking on tears. There is no other way to describe the writing other than stunning in its entirety, the way that it elevates every single scene to a thing of pure beauty.

I need to hug Wyatt, I need to hug James, I need to hug Peter. Their journey is one that touched me deeply, the kind that lingers heavy in my chest. Each of them search for the home all three of them so desperately crave. They're inseparable because of this, tied together even when those ties turn into knots. They care, so deeply, that it hurts. My adoration knows no bounds.

This book devastated me with its brilliance. I wanted to eat it whole, even when I was sobbing my way through. I cannot give it a higher compliment than that.

"Your Blood, My bones" by Kelly Andrews was a raw, emotionally-ripping, soul-tearing book. That being said, this book gave me perfect fall vibes, it had that kind of spooky feeling mixed with a very complex plot, which is what makes it perfect for a cloudy, misty, fall day. I would call this an easy read by any means, but it is a great book for someone who is looking for a bit of mystery which will hook you and leave you looking over your shoulder at night. When I found myself reading this at 2 am, it made so paranoid. The writing makes the tale so real and vivid that I actually started getting suspicious of the shadows in my bedroom. While I found it sometimes confusing, the world the story was set in captivated me; it was a mix of a fantastical world and the real one. However, this book confused me a lot, I couldn't understand the rules of the world. Did everyone have magic? Were the common people aware?

While personally, it was not to my tastes, I do feel like this could be a great book for many people who are into this type of genre. I also would like to mention that it felt very similar to me to "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman, not because the plot was very similar, though they did share some elements, like transforming creatures; If you liked that book I would heavily suggest that you read this one. Also, while the plot twist were incredible, a lot of them were revealed too early in my opinion due to the multiple POVs, but this made the book even more spooky because we knew how clueless the main character was. If I could classify this book, I would place it in the thriller category, it really had an effect on my nerves.

Your Blood, My Bones is a delightfully spooky book that is very intense in all the best ways. The descriptions of the setting in this book were beautifully written and the relationships were heartbreaking to read about. Wyatt and Peter are such compelling and loveable protagonists and they are what really made this story blossom as well as it did.

This was the first Kelly Andrew book that I've ever read and I have to say I was not disappointed in the slightest. I was a little nervous going into the book because, between the cover, the title, and the description my expectations were very, very high, but this book definitely surpassed my expecatitions. I fell in love with these characters and the farm that the story takes place in. I felt like I was right there in the cottage with Wyatt as her world was turned upside down and she had to figure out how to set it right again. I cannot recommend this book enough it was such a fun read! Whenever I would pick this book up I had a very hard time putting it down. Thank you so much to the publisher for allowing me access to an eARC via Netgalley!

Kelly Andrew does it again with another stunningly written, achingly heartfelt, cottagecore horror story.

YBMB is the perfect followup to her debut THE WHISPERING DARK--it has all the elements from the first book that I loved, but with a fresh spin. This one's about friendship and grief, and the characters (there are really only three through most of the novel) are so beautifully distinct and layered. The slowburn childhood friends-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers was EXCELLENT.

Also I lived for that cameo of Lane and Colton.

My only gripes: the SPIDERS, and that ending. Kelly how could you.

Thank you to Netgalley for the arc. I should have known that anything written by Kelly Andrew would absolutely conquer me. I just loved the gothic cottagecore vibes of this book and the trio of characters that are so compelling and full of their own mysteries to discover. It was such a perfect read to start the fall season.

I should have known how deeply this book would affect me considering my love for THE WHISPERING DARK, but if anyone is worried that Kelly Andrew will experience a sophomore slump, then let me tell you right now: she's never even heard the phrase.

YOUR BLOOD, MY BONES is a cottagecore horror, yes, but at its heart it's about the bonds between friends and how they change as we grow older. It's about growing up, growing apart, and growing together. It's about eyes in the woods and weeds on the farm, of the worlds beyond our worlds and the darkness we didn't want to see until it was far too late.

Wyatt, Peter, and James are compelling protagonists, and the threats from without and within their relationships with each other were so compelling. This book will keep you awake for days, both in terror and in pain, but in the overwhelming joy of finding your true self and letting that be your light even in the darkest times.
