I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This is a cute story about the Ninja Kitties, focusing mostly on Bee Bee. She feels less important than the other Ninja Kitties and just wants to quit. He just doesn't see how his honey powers can measure up to the powers of his ninja siblings. But when the Fang Gang attacks to dam, it's the stickiness of Bee Bee's honey powers that help to hold it together, saving the day.
I appreciate the message of this story that just because our skills may be different and seem less obviously helpful doesn't mean that they aren't worth something. And you know, sometimes you just need to have faith in yourself. The illustrations were bold and colorful as always and would still make a great coloring book. Overall I give Ninja Kitties Kitlandia is in Danger 4.0638 out of 5 stars.
My daughter absolutely loved this due to the illustrations and ninja kitties. She's a young reader so the colors really speak to her.
As a parent I think they're fine books but not necessarily books I'd probably buy more than a couple of.
Overall a good book to grab at the library.
I received this book as an ARC and am leaving my opinion voluntarily.
I read this to my grandson and he LOVED it! After all, what's better than a kitten who is a ninja?
A painful attempt at a franchise for the very young – and I mean very young. Almost half this book is spent setting up which colour Ninja Kitty is which and what their powers are, allowing the plot little space to show itself – and for the action – and I mean "action" – to be presented in really awkward, disjointed stop frames with no flow between them at all.
Basically here one of them has the hump because his siblings laugh at him and he doesn't like his power, which to be fair in the key scene does look like he's shitting honey out his backside. Lo and behold the token baddies come along, and the one that left the group is the only one whose honey can save the day. Can he be told he is perfect as he is and get back with the programme?
Really, really basic stuff, this suffers for being so very slight and pared back it loses cohesion. How do the two baddy henchmen end up sailing through the air? Why doesn't the restored member need the Magic Portal to get to where the action was? Why do I care about such loose, daft and so, so broad nonsense? Young readers deserve a lot better than this – one and a half stars.
had so much fun reading this book, the story is so adorable and the illustrations were so well done and charming, there’s so many little details in every page that I couldn’t stop but be mesmerized by it all. I will definitely be recommending it! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy
This was a very quick read and once again the graphics are great, very vivid colors and charming characters. This ninja kitties story focuses on Bee-Bee. This book will be good for younger audiences as the story is pretty basic. This is a great transitional reader for kids ready to start reading on their own.
This book has everything my elementary age students love, adorable characters, bright colors, accessible text, speech bubbles, and ninjas! This will definitely be a popular series with young readers.
The yellowe kittie its not my favourite but this was just nice and sweet. They are lovely ninja kitties, what would you expect?
Another sweet Kitlandia book! The cute kitties overcome difficulties together, navigate friendship and use their superpowers – all while looking super cute in the pictures!
