Denise hunter has brought together another winner with wildflower Falls. Working out life with all the things that are thrown at Laurel and Gavin gives true meaning to perseverance. Family again has taken center stage to Riverbend and I'm ready for another visit after this one. Thank you NetGalley for the invite!
Wildflower Falls was a good read that I was able to easily finish, even while trying to get out of a reading slump. Denise Hunter knows how to write romance novels that hold my attention and are interesting.
The characters were nice, although the romance was not a favorite of mine. I enjoyed the mystery of who her father was and seeing how she reconciled with family from that side.
All in all, Wildflower Falls was a good read and one I enjoy reading.

This was such an amazingly heartfelt book to listen to. Jessica Holtan did a great job narrating this book as well. I read this as a stand alone but I will be going back to read the rest of the books in this series. The characters were really well written. This is a delightful, touching and at times heart-wrenching book, but overall a story of hope, family and growth. I would recommend this book if you want a great uplifting story!
Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Thomas Nelson Fiction for allowing me to listen to this ARC for my honest opinion.
Wildflower Falls is a tale of loss and grief and learning to come to terms with your past. It is also about learning to trust and being open to possibilities and letting good things and people into your life. There are a lot of life lessons packed into these chapters and Denise Hunter has shared them in a beautiful and charming way.
Charlotte Simpson lives on a ranch with her stepsister and the two have always been close. Then their mother passes away. As each sister grieves in a different way and has different ideas about how to manage the ranch their mother left to both, we discover more about who they are, what each wants and how they relate to and interact with the people around them.
Charlotte is the main character in this story, but Gunner Dawson plays a close secondary main role. His narrative runs parallel to hers and the dual narrative allows us to gain insights from each of their perspectives into the same situations. This adds depth to the plot and allows for greater understanding of the tale as a whole and for each of its cast.
Listening to Wildflower Falls is a sensual feast for the ears. The prose is simple yet poetic, written in an elegant style that is graceful and aesthetically pleasing, and the characters are charming and well-rounded. They feel like real, like being told anecdotes about real people rather than characters in a story. Through descriptive and emotive narrative, listening to Wildflower Falls gives you the feeling of really being there, being able to imagine it clearly in front of you and placing the listener in the fields or on the trails. The story weaves through different narratives and characters’ points of view simply and easily without fuss or distraction.
There is not much else left to say about this story without giving away the plot points or developments. Let is simply be said that it is a sublime novel sharing the lives of the residents of a small town and how they all become inextricably linked and intertwined with each other in wonderful ways.
Denise Hunter keeps putting out wonderful stories full of romance and inspiration. I have fallen in love with the characters of Riverbend Gap, NC set in the Appalachian mountains. If you love horses, sweet romance, small-town stories and sibling rivalry, this is one you will want to read! Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wildflower Falls is the first book in this series that I have read. That's my loss because it is obviously a wonderful set of stories. The nice thing is that I didn't feel like I was missing something because the author did a good job of letting the reader know what lead up to the current situation.
It was heartwarming and heartbreaking to watch Charlotte discover her family and navigate the path to connecting with them. What I appreciated was the author showing all the sides of the situation. In the end the theme of extending grace was beautifully written.
Although I haven't read any of the other books in this series I think that the first three books would probably be just as enchanting as this fourth book. I definitely recommend this book and would suggest reading the first three. I'm looking forward to reading any more that come.
Sweet, clean, country, no spice. Guaranteed happily ever afte. I really enjoyed this one. Didn't even matter that it's part of a series andT haven't read the others. Bit of a too-easy conflict resolution but otherwise super good.
When I came across this book I didn't know it was part of a series. However, it is very easy to get into the story, thanks to the stupendous way in which the author wrote. I loved the way the story was told. I liked the premise and the main character's search for her biological father.

Wildflower Falls by Denise Hunter is a sweet story about what it means to find home. Charlotte is doing her best to keep the ranch that has been in her family for generations afloat. Her sister isn’t very interested in helping. She hires Gunner, a roaming horse trainer who never stays anywhere for long. But, maybe, this time, he will find a reason to stay. Very cute story. A bit predictable but still a fun break from normal life. The narrator did a good job too.
Charlotte Honeycutt and her adopted sister, have been left the struggling Stillwater Ranch, following the death of their mother. She also found an envelop with her name on it. Included were pictures of Gavin and Cooper Robinson as well as the name of her father, something her mother would never tell her while she was alive. Suddenly she has half-brothers and a father, but how was she to tell them and develop a relationship with them. Robinson Construction is the only construction company around, so when she plans to build a new barn on her property, she hires them with the hope of getting to know her brothers. At the same time, she is taking on difficult horses to board and train. She hires Gunner Dawson, a horse whisperer to work with her and train the horses. Charlotte and Gunner click from the start, but with Gunner afraid to start a serious relationship and Charlotte dealing with the ranch, trying to find her father, keeping secrets from the Robinsons and dealing with her sister wanting to work in a bakery, not on the ranch and angry at Charlotte for wanting to find a "new family", she isn't sure what she wants. Can Charlotte be welcomed into the Robinson family? Will she save the ranch? Will Charlotte and Gunner find love with one another?
I have enjoyed the previous books in this series, all sharing the romance and loves of the Robinson siblings. It is such a great family. I really enjoy Denise Hunter's books. They are clean, sweet romances, but not without their difficulties, personal growth and often forgiveness and reconciliation. I really liked Charlotte. She was a woman with a can-do attitude and is willing to work hard to keep the ranch running and in the family. She is very caring and wants to become part of a family, but now abandon her sister. Gunner is a swoon-worthy love interest. He is handsome, gentle, caring, compassionate and needs to realize that all relationships don't end badly. He has some baggage from his past that is very sad, but he needs to deal with it and move forward. This is a great book about family, forgiveness and new beginnings. It is a bit predictable, but in a good way and I enjoyed getting to the happily ever after. A great conclusion to the Riverbend series. Jessica Holtan narrated the audiobook and does a wonderful job with the story, the voices and the expression/emotion. I do believe she is a new narrator to me and I will not hesitate to listen to her again.
I have read the other books in this series and loved them, so writing this review leaves me a little torn. I liked it, and it was a good book - but going in with such high expectations l wanted to like this one more. Basically the main character is looking to connect with her father (and his family), and has to resort to some deception to get there….which I feel had the result of me not connecting with the main character as much as I would have liked.
The narrator was okay, not one of my favorites, but not one of the worst. The narration seemed a little on the bland side.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, all opinions are my own.
I like small town family dramas and romances by good authors and Denise Hunter really has a knack for writing them! This one was a worthy addition to the series and I know I enjoyed the previous few titles as well. Great to see the return of some of those characters.
This time I had the pleasure of listening to this book in audio and Jessica Holtan did such a fantastic job. She handled the male voices really well which is a deal breaker for me. And she did not read the start of sentences as dialogue mistakenly (another one of my pet peeves.)
4 stars from me. 5 stars for the audio.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Denise Hunter never fails to disappoint. After reading (and loving) her initial three books in her Riverbend series. I was pleasantly surprised when she revealed that a fourth book was coming. I was so happy to see the characters again, it was like coming back to visit old friends.
Denise Hunter is a master at small town romance and the story flowed seamlessly and kept me waiting until the final end. It is full of heart, forgiveness, redemption—all the makings of a great story that will melt your heart.
I recommend this book for ages 13+ for some thematic elements.
Cute story that takes place on a horse farm that the girls inherited when their mom passed. Just the right amount of characters to learn about and become invested in. Of course it has a happy ending for all.
Listened to an ARC audiobook version of the book.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A great read about family, love, and starting over. Excellent story and characters.

This is book #4 of the Riverbend series but can be read as a stand-alone. Narrated by Jessica Holtan.
My first Denise Hunter book, but I don't think it will be my last. This was a clean and feel-good romance set in the heart of North Carolina.
Charlotte is trying to fulfill her promise to her late mother to keep the family ranch afloat while her sister wants no part of it and wants to pursue a career in baking. As Charlotte is trying to expand the ranch and make it thrive, she is also trying to uncover the identity of her biological father and navigate her feelings for a budding relationship.
I liked the pacing of this story. Although sparks started flying quickly after meeting, it wasn't an "insta-love" story. I haven't dipped my toes into many "cowboy" romances, so this was a nice icebreaker. As a Ky girl, I was able to relate to Gunner and enjoyed hearing about home.
I also loved the family relationships in this story. The Robinson clan was so welcoming and loving, and I honestly couldn't get enough. The recovery aspect and relationships affected by it were not automatically solved and given a happy ever after, which I appreciated. It made them authentic and realistic.
The narration was good, and I appreciated that Jessica did not try to mimic a male voice for the male characters. Some narrators can really ruin a book by poorly portraying characters. I didn't feel hearing a feminine voice throughout made any difference in the quality of the audio experience.
Thank you, NetGalley and Harper Collins, for the opportunity to listen and review this advanced copy.

I really enjoyed Charlotte’s backstory. I found the thread of her seeking out her biological family was fascinating. Her sister however, annoyed me so much, and there wasn’t much that redeemed her. Gunner on the other hand was the quintessential bad boy, and I loved it! Their romance was a little sparse on building a relationship, but the chemistry was great! There was a beautiful underlying story of forgiveness and finding your true home. Without giving away too many details, I don’t feel the ending truly did justice to Gunner’s personality, and was a little disappointed. I listened to the audiobook, and found it to be very well done. I’ve enjoyed every Denise Hunter book I’ve ever read! I received an advanced copy of the audiobook from the publisher via NetGalley, and was under no obligation to provide a positive review.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins Christian Publishing for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
Charlotte’s world has been turned upside down. Her mom passed a few months back, leaving the family horse ranch to Charlotte and her sister. Charlotte found a folder full of information on her mysterious birth father in her mother’s things. And now there’s a new horse trainer on the ranch who sends bolts of electricity through her body with a single look. Charlotte is struggling to make the ranch profitable with the help of that new trainer, while investigating her birth family. But when drama ensues from both the relationship with the trainer and her birth family at the same time, Charlotte isn’t sure how she’ll be able to make it all work.
Wildflower Falls is fourth installment in Denise Hunter’s Riverbend series, but can be read as a standalone novel. Focused on small town relationships, this novel is about misconceptions and forgiveness. This novel is what Hunter does best – a contemporary small-town romance – the author is known for her romance novels, including three which have been made into Hallmark movies.
I give Wildflower Falls 4 out of 5 stars. I was afraid I would need to know more about the previous three books in the series to fully understand the characters and storyline here. However, Hunter has written this novel in a way it stands alone. I appreciate the detail given to each scene, bringing them to life. I also appreciate the slow reveal of the characters’ backstories and relationships. While this book could be easily transformed into a Hallmark movie, it read like a beautiful tale of rural community drama and friendship.
I would recommend this novel for readers who enjoyed Book Lovers by Emily Henry, or fans of Mary Kay Andrews. The novel would be of interest to romance readers who have interest or experience with horses. With light references to death and family drama, this book would be best directed to audiences over 13. This would also make a great book club choice – I can see many discussions around Charlotte’s options and her decisions throughout the plot.
This is my first book by Denise Hunter. I was immediately drawn in by cover and title when I saw it available on NetGalley. The cover features my favorite scenery – the North Carolina mountains. Having just finished The Summer Melt by Emily March which also featured a small town romance and waterfall, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to read this novel. I was not disappointed! I have added the first three books in the Riverbend series to my TBR stack and can’t wait to dig in!

Charlotte has a lot on her plate trying to expand the ranch that has been in her family for generations. She is at odds with her sister because she wanted to sell the ranch not expand it but Charlotte promised her mother before she died that she would keep it. On top of that she found a clue about her birth father who her mother never talked about. When her mother suddenly died the year before she found a folder with some pictures. But she quickly finds out she was wrong in her deduction so she is back to square one in her search for her father.
Gunnar was hired by Charlotte to train horses for a few months but he gets caught up in her search for her real father.
There is a real attraction between them but Gunnar wants no strings and will be moving on soon.
The author really has a feel for describing her characters. I enjoyed reading about this friendly town and look forward to reading more.
I have read several books in the Riverbend series. It was real a treat to catch up with characters from past books! Charlotte Simpson is left with only her stepsister for family after her adopted dad then her mom pass away. Charlotte found clues to a biological father she hasn't ever met, in her mom's belongings. Charlotte wants to pursue meeting her father in hopes of getting to know him and having more connection with her remaining family. As Charlotte tries to build up her inherited horse farm, not hurt her stepsister, she also longs to be part of a family that doesn't know she exists. It's complicated and messy but a very heartwarming story and a worthy listen!
