This was my first visit to Riverbend Gap, but I really enjoyed it.

When Charlotte's mother posthumously shares the secret of who Charlotte's father is, this young rancher is left to figure out the best way to approach her biological family. Her brothers are townsfolk she already knows and respects, but her father is a bigger mystery.

To add to the confusion, there's Gunner Dawson, her new horse trainer who catches Charlotte's attention and adds to her confusion.

As Charlotte sorts her life out, there's a lot to consider, including how this is all affecting her only remaining living family member, her step-sister.

If you enjoy small-town romances and close-knit families, you won't want to miss Wildflower Falls.

Thank you to Denise Hunter, Harper Collins Christian Publishing and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for this providing me with this audiobook of Wildflower Falls in exchange for an honest review! Wildflower Falls is my first experience with Denise Hunter's work but it certainly won't be my last! This book is apparently part of a series but works perfectly as a stand alone. That being said, I will go back and read the rest of the books because if they're anything like this one I know I'll enjoy them too. I adored Charlotte and Gunner so much. They're both so likeable and I was instantly rooting for them and their happiness. This book drew me in right away because of how great the characters are and how quickly I felt invested with their situations. I really appreciate how Jessica Holtan narrated this audiobook. I think the audiobook is a good way to experience this story, thanks to how well she brings it to life. It's such a sweet and wholesome romance, and I think that with the great narration I felt the emotions of the book even stronger than if I'd just been reading the text.

Charlotte Simpson made a promise to her mother. She promise to keep the ranch in the family and two month later her mother passed. Charlotte also knew the man she called dad was not her biological father but her mom refused to ever tell her who her real father was. When her mom died, Charlotte found a safe deposit box key. Located in the box was a folder with her name on it that contained articles about her half brothers and her real father.
She decides to hire her brothers to build a new barn for the expansion and hires a new horse trainer. Charlotte gets to know her brothers and eventually figures out who her biological father is. She meets him and finds out he was a war vet. At the time, he had an affair with her mother he was struggling with PTSD and was in no position to be a father.
Charlotte and Gunner, the horse trainer, fall in love. Charlotte for the first time in her life feels complete and Gunner feels like he is home.

Cute, little, small town romance!
This is my first read from Denise Hunter and I can say for certain I will go back and read the other books in this series and most likely more! Who doesn't like a small-town farm romance? It was clean, relatable, family oriented. It was just an overall sweet story that I will recommend to all the romance lovers I know.
I can't wait to get into the other books in the series and see what other stories Hunter can paint for ones imagination.
The cover is beautiful, the narrator of the audiobook is great. I just cant say enough good things about this book. I will definitely be purchasing it for my library!

Wildflower falls by Denise Hunter. An audiobook romance. This story is set on a horse ranch I really didn’t enjoy the narrator. Could not decide if it was the writing or the way the narrator read

Charlotte just finds out some hints as to who her father is. She has a few leads and finally determines who he probably is. She's envisioning a larger family as she knows his family. Meanwhile, her sister feels like she's being pushed out. Charlotte wants to have the family ranch become self-sustaining, but her sister wants no part of it.

Gunner is a talented horse trainer, but he does not want to put down roots or become attached to anyone. When Charlotte hires him, he starts to question his life-long strategy.

This is a story of determination, desire for a foundation, family love and loyalty, and so much more. It's touching, it's sad, it's joyous. And it's just great storytelling.

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator was wonderful.

So as I am listening to/reading this one, I can't help but think that it reads very much like a Hallmark Movie. You know, that feeling that you get, where everything is going to be ok in the end? I know that feeling, as I love Hallmark Movies!!
And, as I am going to write my review, I look up the author, and guess what??
She writes for Hallmark!! So BINGO on that thought!

Charlotte is a young woman who has inherited her Mom's horse ranch, with her sister Emerson (who really does not want to have anything to do with the ranch)...
They recently lost their Mom, and Charlotte is trying hard to not only build up the ranch, but promote it and expand it. But, Emerson wants nothing to do with it, as she wants to be a chef! So this seems to be an ongoing thread in the book.

Then we have hunky, horse whisperer, Gunner, who was recently hired as a stable hand to help out temporarily with training the horses...but he has no intentions of staying on, as he is a known drifter...and already has another job lined up with a prize winning horse, elsewhere.

Add to this the fact that Charlotte is trying to find her biological father...and you have the makings of a beautiful, sweet, if not heartbreaking book.

Loved all of the characters. Loved the small town feel of the book. Loved the family dynamics as well. Beautifully written. Beautifully read, and portrayed!!

And, although this is listed as Riverbend Falls Book #4, I did not know that it was part of a series, and it was perfect as a stand alone book.

Thanks to #NetGalley; #HarperCollins and #DeniseHunter for the ARC of the audiobook which was actually released on 9/12/23...so you can look for it on shelves right now!

4 stars for me!

A heartwarming read. The Riverbend series can be read as a stand-alone book or in order. I will most definitely be going back and reading the rest of the series. Charlotte is still grieving the loss of her mother when she discovers some missing pieces from her past. Gunner, the temp farm hard, is there to give her support that ended up being truly heartwarming and sweet.

This book has introduced me to another great author. This is a solid romance. Charlotte and Gunner are adorable characters right from the start. I really liked listening to this audio.

Many thanks to Net Galley and HarperCollins Christian Publishing for an audio copy of Wildflower Falls for an honest review.

"Caring about people only to lose them wasn't high on his list of priorities"
With a female lead, handsome horse trainer, family secrets, love triangle and a small town community, this story reminded me of the tv series, Heartland. If you enjoy that series, you may enjoy this newest release by Denise Hunter. It is the fourth in a series but could certainly be read as a standalone.

I was able to listen to the audiobook at twice the speed and the only thing I did not like was it was a bit difficult to distinguish between the characters voices but the reader's voice was pleasant to listen to and it was not robotic at all. I felt like I was in the story, not like someone was reading me a book.

Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to listen to it.
