I loved it! I've been reading this series from the start so I've known and loved these characters for decades. McCone is actually near her old territory for much of her investigation which dredges up many nostalgic moments. It had me dwell on my own memories of my past when I was reading those early novels! Excellent series!
I’m a huge Sharon McCone fan, so of course I loved catching up with the gang. I found this a little thin. McCone investigates mysterious happenings in some privately owned streets in San Francisco. Of course, murder and plot twists follow.
McCone fans will enjoy it, but definitely not a good stand-alone or first read.
Thank you Netgalley for a visit with Sharon.
I've read them all! Sharon just keeps finding ways to get into hot water in the city by the bay. Another great story involving land deeds (she's always learning some historical treasure). Fast read!
3.5 stars - I rounded up - for this book from one of my all-time favorite series. I have been with Sharon McCone from the beginning and this book felt like a homecoming as so many regulars made appearances. I loved the ending where we learn where most of our favorites end up - it does feel like it was the final book although I hope not and look forward to many more. The storyline for this book was just OK to me as it was a bit disjointed but I did like how things played out, especially bringing in all of the operatives. The book was comfortable and nostalgic but all in the best way. I appreciate receiving an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley.
This book is part of a series, but is fine to read alone. I haven't read the more recent ones but have read all the other one, so a lot of the book was going down memory lane with lots of familiar characters and watching the growth of the main character and her relationships over many years. that being said, it wasn't one of the best in the series and I am not sure if without the attachment to the character, i would have liked it. There is a lot of neighborhood description in SF, too many at times, and backstories on lots of characters. It is politically liberal, which isn't an issue for me, but might be for others.
Reading a Sharon McCone mystery feels a lot like visiting an old friend. I’m pretty sure this is the 35th book in this long running series. McCone & Ripinsky International is hired to figure out who is vandalizing some privately owned streets in San Francisco.
It’s not long before her investigation involves murder, but what is the ultimate end goal? How do vandalism and murder tie together and can McCone figure it out before she is the next victim. Throughout the course of her investigation, we visit with a lot of old familiar faces, which is always a bonus. I have no reason to believe that this is the last book, but it does end with a lot of threads tied up. If it is, it’s been a good run spending time with McCone and if not, I’ll look forward to the next book.
This talented author has written a mystery that is difficult to put down. Realistic characters keep the story moving quickly. The images stayed with me. The storyline also. Danger…mystery and intrigue… thanks Netgalley.
